stopping by okay um with your little thought my name is I'm making a podcast with assumption in 20. and what I'm about to say and and let the listeners know exist I'm not trying to glorify what gags are or what prison gangs are but I'm trying to make people understand is when you get involved in this kind of organizations you lose one thing and the one thing you lose is your humankind once you lose that humankind in this game you will never regain that back you get through a lot of things to try to regain that humankind you had in you that thing is gone the whole purpose of this let's call and or telephone number will be monitored and recorded all purpose is to show you that being involved in gangs and prison gangs it's it is not something that you should take lightly and it is not something that's going to be beneficial for you and it's something that's going to hurt all the way down the line because you're truly going to find out who truly are your friends or who truly is your family I've been here for over 51 years I'm 51 years old I've been here for over 20 something years and everybody that I thought was at my side at the end of the day they all turned on me I'm I sit here on death row I go to canteen 220 a month I could only make it about 30 40 a month before that I was gonna canteen like you and I believe it but once that ends you're basically down to zero and and once you try to gain control of that humankind you had in you you could do whatever you want be at least none of that will work because you lost that and before you lose that you must understand that the game it is not what you think it is from uh El Monte Flores or tiny midgets what are you incarcerate for and how long is your settings um I'm incarcerated for uh five uh conspiracy to commit murder I'm a death Pro up in that San Queen I've been locked up inside December 6th of 1995 got indicted to go to court I went straight to Superior Court I got shambled all the way through do you or did you belong to any type of gangs groups organizations say that again do you or did you belong to any type of gangs groups organizations oh I sure did um the first kind I belonged to was uh in Monte Flores that's an Amani San Diego Valley and down the line I became a Salgado after the Continental I became a carnal uh a brother of the Mexican Mafia I Was Made of brother in uh April of 1995. okay now can you go ahead and walk us down your Youth Man and kind of tell me what was it that gravitated you towards this lifestyle into wanting to become a gang member and can you tell me how it was in in monteflores I know right there in the the sgv area I know right there it's been active it's always been active it's always been a a treacherous place so can you tell me how it was for you growing up well growing up I grew up a lot of country from the kingmans the treatment is is what people will consider the projects um I came from Mexico in 70 75 76. and I moved right across street from the projects uh I have two uncles uh they both went to Florida this month Commando and um what God means to the gang guys is just listening to the stories my deals would tell me about crazy and listen to stories about gang banging and then you know just fascinated me with some of these stories like they were unbelievable and and just listening to all the all of this monitors they were doing when they were youngsters and and bringing that information to me and thinking to myself like wow this is badass right right and and my deal just got out of doing 13 barlaps and telling me some of the war stories that he was going on in San Queen in Folsom and Tracy they're doing my dear Mondo so growing up in that environment really made it to believe like being in a gang and joining the gang was one of the best things in the world right but hearing more and more stories just got to be more fascinating like opponents I really want to be part of a gang right and when I started first hanging out with my homeboys we're a bunch of little Rugrats kids imagine talking so going around right in the streets uh a street boys Street Boys used to be part of a small gang but it wasn't a gang it's just a bunch of little rugrat kids running around the neighborhood running stupid things in the world and what fascinated me the most is where my skills will go out gangbanging in their 20s and come back like telling us man we just did ahead we just pulled up worked on his Rocco shot and dropped a few times and jumping it off and took off and you know it just listened to stories and seeing my Fields coming in from from doing the job and I was like oh want that I want to be like damn I want to do that that was that was my my goal to trying to be like them you know and and that's what got me into street gangs by listening to these stories that I truly believe to be truthful because they were coming from family members they were coming from our three more they were coming for my carnal rest in peace and listening to a maybe you know in my mind in my brain I really thought that this life was just eventually you started you know getting yourself more heavily involved in the streets now can you can you huh no affirmative passing back from the shower and tell me when did things actually start getting serious for you you know when did you start having to protect yourself and carry a gun or did you lose any friends was there ever a moment what in your in your in your youth that you remember that really sticks out to you that kind of really shook you and woke you up and you realize that this gang banging stuff is no joke my first time carrying a weapon I think I was uh 10 and a half 11 years old I had a 22 with me and um I was walking down uh uh Tyler Street uh Tyler and uh in Cyprus I was going up going towards uh going towards uh the king events but I was in in uh in haste hasted another gang that's an enemy of Monte Flores during that time well when I was walking it's you know I was minding my own business I was dressed up with my members throwing a jacket my Nikes Cortez my khakis I had a 22 in my pocket and I'm walking running two cents but I'm not thinking that this pace where I'm at is is not my size let's call and your telephone number will be monitored and recorded so when I was walking down a guy across the street I see a car jam up and they go where you from I said Monte Flores next thing I know is what the hell I at first I was like I cannot believe that I just got shot at but the gang members right and and I ran like a boy or I ran I kept running because I could not believe when I turned around that car was still right behind me right so I was jumping fence to fence fans to fence and I totally forgot that I had a gun in my pocket [Music] Police Department so the car when that other car came over and he actually never went over because he knew that I'm on the PD blah blah blah so as soon as that class that's when I pulled out the gun and I was so nervous at 11 years old I started shooting not realizing that I'm shooting in the air you know never used to gun him alive don't know what the hell it is but when it was all said and done that actually that's when I realized like oh this is what my uncles are talking about being dreaded them for how you get like the scaredness the Readiness start knowing that that should not you know it's when I'm realizing this is no joke this is not really no joke and as time went by you know I started doing some things in my home base you know doing robberies um going to different neighborhoods shooting people up you know they shooting up they should have ended it was just our everyday thing doing go up in the streets what neighborhoods were you going at it with back then uh well see Monte is surrounded you know you have to understand is is growing up listening to stories for my uncle uh regarding our fast economic African Grande was basically one of our worst enemies but we also had uh enormous we also have Sandra and we also had East Side born and these four gangs were surrounding as these were considered to be our mortal enemies for what reason don't know that other stories are hers because they kill one of us we kill one man goes back and for these are enemies and the major gang that was considered towards are one of our Royal enemies you have 60 seconds remain you know I've always been um I've always been uh for lack of better words for lack of better terminology I've always been fascinated with the wars that some of these uh cities have going Way Back 40 50 60 years back but can you tell me why the war with El Monte Flores and basic Grande how did it start and why is it so why is it on site with you guys how did this whole thing play out here's the thing on that further right in like most most Clickers nobody knows why other gangs will tell you the same thing well they killed one of my homeboys blah blah blah when in water monteflorious first started Monte Flores was basically uh deeply live when it first started in the 40s it was all empty lot and and during that time the original members at the time his name was a big house that was our original older homie and during those time there was no such thing as gangs but there was a first thing as as common Oddity amongst friends and and there was divisions already growing behind women behind making a little bit of money here and there and one of the reasons that it first started from what I was told from my uncle was that our best thing that I've been killed one of my original homeboys whose name was and and that's where the war started it was over the death of one of my homies so from that day on is basically then they're the first ones that actually came over to our side and killed one of our I think that was in 62 or 63 but from that day on we actually we take care of each other and nobody has ever ever took in the time to sit down and say man why are we pinning each other you know it's I know you know whatever happened happened over a century ago what is the purpose of us continually carrying yourself for a damn a damn guy you know it's made no reason you know it's and it's been like that you know they killed a lot of us and we killed a lot of that goes back and forth but to be honest nobody can actually say what were the two reasons why I started the only thing that I do know is when my uncle told me that they must worry that my uncle told me I was told that that never happened did you catch what I'm saying what I'm saying is nobody knows Wayne nobody knows why these assassinations between two clickers even started it could have meant something as stupid as doing something or you know but nobody knows mine because every time the story gets embroiled to become something that it was not it oh that never happened or this happened so to be honest I cannot tell you I can only tell you what my uncle told me and when I talked to my older woman said that never happened I'm like wait a minute you just lied to me deal and I said well that's what I was told by so and so and so and so everybody's passing the bus and it makes the holy generation and to be honest like I said we don't know why the only thing was that I knew of growing up is that they were our mortal enemy and that but I'm not mortal enemy means that they took something away from us that meant a lot to us so anytime I hear that word that that makes me believe they have to put somebody in my neighborhood but with consider a God to us or consider somebody that was something during that time when it occurred but I cannot tell you to be honest did you lose any friends to this war is there somebody in your mind that hurt you I know the the restaurant the verse when I the worst one I got into this faith is that we lost with my homework notebook uh we lost a lot of homeboys but purple was our originally um purple got killed in his own house where his wife invited other gang members from another territory from Pomona cross street when he went to his home his house his wife and my own girls invited some other Foods in their house this call and your telephone number will be monitored and recorded he went in there like what the hell is going on man and and purple was considered a good homeboy he was loyal to providing us he was respectful to the Mario he did everything from the neighborhood and when he died that really shook every time it's your favorite things so bad that another my homeboys went over and killed another guy from that same body from one across street but well my only was buried he was it was a burial with with sadness it was a better with hatred I mean we all felt the the hatred that we all felt sad and the reason we all felt that was because he was a good homie he was a good human being he was a good he was everything so you could consider he was like a dad to a lot of us you know he was a good doctor and that really shook me out like man I was just talking to purple three hours ago on Garvey and Mommy Rose they just killed him you know I'm like holy you know that really shook me up another one that really Shook Me Up was my homeboy uh uh uh sketch my homie sketch was in love with the girl they were like like sweethearts and they're good big children right she went to a party and they and uh they found her in Las Vegas on the highway and she was somebody had picked her up this is horrible I always loved this bill to him he loved it so much that he actually went to Pioneer Park took a four or five put in his chest and killed himself and and that showed me up because it it wasn't about the value it was about his sweetheart it was about the girl that he loved the woman that he grew up with and and that really like when we buried him I felt anger I felt the solution to see my homie in a casket it was like you know I mean it was just amazing you know it's like what the hell you know like I thought you were better than this homeboy you know to see if there's really yeah and you know shot my homeboy I mean I lost so many homies you know it's it's there's too many to count and but the ones that really trust me are those two softball in my own way out okay so those who run into that trust me because I knew them I hanged out with them I seen the love that they both have for different things but it was through the nerves one had enough for the neighborhood doesn't want their life from his sweetheart and that really did touch me a lot when did you first come in contact with somebody of power when did you meet your the first Emma brother and how was that like and how did it take a liking to you and how did you start getting involved well that's a funny one right because um growing up in in the Kingdom enzyme um I first met well I knew who wetto so I was uh whether sign is because the guy that I used to hang with his name was Flaco fabozo's stepson that's not his real son and his stepson his mom is my homegirl bunny and during that time I'm talking I'm talking about them 70s and Bunny was being with a bicycle that bison was a drug dealer in the neighborhood and I'm going inside the king of man and I see my homeless father my copper and my Homer Savage my homie must they all broken I'm thinking like they're running for right and they are running because Guero just came in I'm thinking enough and that's that's [ __ ] with that man that I didn't realize the power that this man had that some of my homeboys about something that they didn't want to be seen in the same area where he was because they were that scared of him I didn't know they was trying to like man that's that slack was that right when I walked in I'm talking to uh Sparkle which is what her stepson and and I'm looking in weather is uh he's about six one six two he's a big old he's not Mexican of his wife but he left many candles all his life but he was he has so much power in him that his voice the way he walked and the weight and they made some of my homeboys like turn around and walked all the way and made me think like who is this guy you know why this guy has so much power he's not even from my neighborhood but my homeboys are walking away who is this guy and when I first met him I was like Wow but that resistance I met him but I never did nothing for him but you know as soon as it took it in I blanked it out I went basketball doing my own little kid things not even thinking about well now the very first kind of knowledge that I ever met and that I ever started doing things for was it 1992 his name was uh uh diagonal from Compton Center nose in a Frankie B from Merced that world was that had a lot of power and when I first met him listened to his words how he got me to believe that being as a model being part of his crew will bring me up and would show me riches and show me how it is but just listening to his worst man really like that this guy is about something right and when this guy tells me look your name is so-and-so you're from Flores this is what I need you to do I need you to go all over San Diego Valley we need you to find other representatives from all the brothers in here if anybody gives you the name here's my new middle here's a photo you tell him that I send you down here and I'm thinking like it's not the really for videos if I go to a basket around to recycle the Sun but if I go to Norman they know I'm from Flores I'm six feet under right so I said you know what okay let's roll so I was really shocked and surprised that the first place I went to was Lomas and I went to their character to their heart because every every Gang has a certain page where they all hang out but when I throw in that car they knew my car right away they're obviously like well here come this glorious and blah blah and next thing I know and I noticed all the gang members just stopped didn't stop for for me now they stopped because they're already cold I'm sending myself battle he's gonna go talk to you guys and when I got off the car I'm surrounded by normal these are all enemies but they're all sitting there looking at me like this um I'm a guy like I'm I'm somebody and I'm talking to them and they gave me the impression like man this kind of not really this could not call this entire body and he said no and I'm coming down here and they didn't see me with nothing nothing I must respect and and when I saw that that really shocked me I could not believe it that I'm in the center of 22 gang members from Norma six of them are strapped six of them are talking to you and nothing another respect six of them are talking like I'm part of that crew like I'm I'm thinking to myself and and that's when I first realized what the power of the anime was what the power they have on gas what is a complete power that any enemy of theirs could come in their territory don't really knowing that that enemy shot their homeboys and their enemy is being going to their neighborhood and shooting them up but they take me in like I was part of their house that's when I do a lot of things yeah and they used to buy something you know so did you actually end up going to every other city as well I wanted it took me a month and a half to go all over San Diego Valley I got all the numbers from all representative you have 60 seconds I didn't realize that there is so many kikas in San Diego Valley on top of that there's click off on top of Clickers I never knew that I've met Street gangs that were inside Street guys like what the hell did I know that I met I even met Mexicanos that were uh consider themselves to be uh wearing our red bands which is known bands but that's the color of their their gang red bands and that's against certain gang class so I met a lot of different games once I got all the addresses and I got all the information that the mono needed I contacted him and he asked me okay I need you to call the representatives and I need you to bring him in to this bar now this bar that I'm going to talk about I'm going to tell you how this part came about this bar belonged to a biker and one of the Hermanos of Frankie B from Merced the waitress was his girl so they said man on this waitress wanted this bar but they needed to find a reason to get this bar so The Rook I was working in the bar and she started feeling yelling that she's got by the owner of the car blah blah blah right so Frankie D along with other soldados went inside that Barn had that man signed the bar over to him now this guy is a biker so he has connections with the Mongols the Mongols isn't considered a biker gang now a week later we're supposed to have a meeting at this bar with all these different uh gang members from all these caves what I did not know when nobody knew is that the original owner of the bar that got his bar choking Away by the enemy contacted the mongos to channel May man I just got ripped off by these Mexicans and blah blah blah right best knowns is we're inside there's about 32 of us inside we're having a meeting with the senor men's knows Packers come in like whoa whoa whoa dense to know that the head honcho of the battle gang knew that one lends to know at the end of the day the truck the owner came in that truck got signed over to Dagwood because the bikers the original backer of the gang that the guy called he felt that that guy disrespected the hermano for calling him to kind of take over the farthest belongs to the Emmett so that really tells you the power of that of the whole transaction how you really think that by you calling other people that they said Mama doesn't have connections he has so many connections around him right and I was just shocked like not only you brought me let's call and your telephone number will be monitored and recorded not only you brought these bikers in here to try to steal back your your bar back from us but now you have to sign over your truck because the guy that you brought happens to know this hermano he knows who he is and they have connections they have deals with each other dying so now you're forced to sell give your Club to this man I was like holy so I just wanted to know about that part how that part came about and we had a meeting uh regarding everything one of the main things in monotone on his gangs um I'm sick and tired of watching you guys killed yourself for stupidities or the territories I'm sick and tired of you guys going to this click I can clear these bottles just because you're I'm sick and tired of gonna stop if I find out that you guys killed anybody here you always kill another gang member because he crossed over the line or he crossed over bounds your ass is going to be grasped period this is gonna stop today we have better things to do than to be killing ourselves and looking at this manner when he's talking to all these gang members and I'm thinking like bam okay this guy really does he really had that power to convince all the gang members are here to go back to neighborhoods and power neighbors you can no longer go to the neighborhood and shoot them up because if you shoot them up we're gonna get green knighted sure enough he's worse we had a peace treaty in the San Gabriel Valley there was actually peace tweeted in San Gabriel Valley but see all that was all perpetrated by him to create something else that he was working on down the line with another model down the line I will get to that later so you can I'm trying to give you the other points that we're working on to do something bigger in San Diego Valley and sure enough we had a peace treaty then the other model uh um the hermano Daniel Gets Busted so the ones in charge now is Iman of Frankie B but Frankie B is more of a treacherous kind of I'm now a soldier for both men in one of the meetings that could not talk we had a big meeting in North saiborne I mean there was over 300 gang members from all the different gangs in San Diego Valley in North Suburban in the park there are so many gangster and gang members were like what the hell is going on here right but the one thing that struck me the most is that this model did not play this man who said I'm sick and tired of being tired of watching this is coming to our territories take over our drug territories in southern Maryland and get these out of our territory remember he said our territory is not the gay territories but the enemies territories I mean and he said look at here and hear me who Baba are you on the way and he said look at here on Monday want the Flores has a bunch of is Sally drogas in their own territory this is what we've come about when we're lies in our territories to solve our drugs and then making money off our drugs and I'm sitting here he never said your gang he said ours in other words The Gangs belong to the enemy I'm feeling nothing and he's making everybody look bad he's pulling out covers you gotta hear the word means the African-American um he's talking about African-American selling drugs in Hispanic territories and in Hebrew that as a disrespect for the Yemen off of disrespect for the rasa sure enough after that after that meeting was broken up um I myself got arrested for exactly what the men order us to do there was an African-American selling drugs in my neighborhood in another trade in one of the motels me my homeboy and another person I don't want to see that person's name because blah blah blah and I took a baseball bat and I beat the whole animal with the baseball bat I got arrested for falling battery um there's quite a few guys on the road for killing African Americans telling them to kill so once we clean everything up all the territories everything up boom Frankie b gets arrested he got arrested when he got arrested in 93 uh weatherside from artificial comes up now he don't play around he's just cold-blooded he don't play around what I was trying to tell you earlier from the amount of gas was where he was setting it up what he was doing he was sitting up San Diego Valley so that that when the weather got out Widow had all the information of who was doing what because now he's taking over the entire thing of San Diego County and that was my job when weather got out what up told me straight out look look here on one thing I need you to find out who's selling what who's doing work can you give me all the information so I have first I had to get a crew I got a clue on my own place and once I find out what all the connections were at who was selling what who was doing what about all that information well I said here it is bro and he goes okay I need you to go back all these connections and after you rob them you let them know that if they want to sell the robots in our territory they're gonna have to pay renter Grandpa means rent on top of paying rent they're gonna have to buy the little ones from us period that's how that's how it's going to work it took me about four months to get everything straightened up throughout San Diego Valley I was going every territory that was not paying rent to the end and going there to the connections tying them up kidnapping them taking all of those other money everything that they had and then on top of that I was telling you guys could sell drugs but you need to pay taxes period and and if you want to sell more you're going to have to buy them offer so it's basically a win-win situation for dma of course I had Michael Donald so we had to pay our son dollars also and once I got I found all the drugs in San Diego Valley I found all the connections then where to tell me we need to set up shop I need you to set a shop in Bowling I need to set us up in in Flores and into the city of enormous okay all right cool so I went ahead and find places to set up shops to sell drugs for the Hemi so once I did that I was banking in 25 to 30 000 a week just on drug sales not talking about the collection of connecting from other drug dealers selling drugs and not not the connection that I was from all the drugs that I took from other connections I was I was reselling those drugs back to everyone else that I took it from so once I got all that started and and once I started making so much money for little when weather first got out whether it was paying apartment complex when he met me I already had him a house so I was you could say I was wedded uh um I was readers Ace in the home I was I did everything for whatever whatever he wanted I did um any other questions you want to ask was there anybody or is there any group or or that that didn't want to apply and follow these new set of rules that were trying to be implemented again on you guys yeah there is uh I had a I had a green light by the fighters uh the bikers got together in greenlighted me because I was robbing them silly I was taking pounds and pounds you name it and uh uh of course during doing that process there were some that didn't want to pay and they had to get out with for instance um we went to a connection we Guero and another youngster [Music] he's gonna bring you two kilos and you're gonna give him forty thousand dollars SLS to it all right now all right so two days later over there nobody there there's only two prices in the house I walk in I'm loaded I gotta I gotta I got a nine with me I'm loaded there's a pipe the sofa but I could tell you see it in something that I'm not paying attention in Spanish right he's over there in the room man so as soon as I go into that room they're fighting the room start shooting first thing I do put on my questions start shooting dinosaur from what I do what I notice is the guy in the surfer had a 12 gauge so what the prices did they basically set me up two days later to take my assignment
