Former country hater's first time hearing of Dan + Shay - Tequila (Reaction!)

all right so I got this message hey sebs big fan of your channel thanks Tyler I noticed that you haven't reacted to Dan and Shay yet but they are one of the biggest artists in country music right now Shay's vocals are incredible I think you'd love them I'd love you to react to their song Tequila well Tyler no I have not heard of Dan and Shay um not a tequila drinker but I can enjoy a good song about tequila you know big Sami Hagar fan actually not a big Sami semi Hagar fan I was a big fan of one concert I had of on tape of Van Halen in live in New Haven that I watched going to sleep for years as a kid but anyway okay yeah t let's do it bro you dear viewer if you're new to the channel here you say hey country now I like it that's a long story that's the the a long story made shorter why do I like it now I I feel like there's of course exceptions to these generalities right but the the the storytelling country has been perhaps one of my favorite aspects of it the sound the way you know the Telecaster is used one of you by the way gifted me a Telecaster you know who you are I cannot believe it it's in the shop right now and I can't wait to play it some more so but anyway the sound I I've grown accustomed to the twang I like the incorporation of Blues and everything it's just it's been a fun ride man I can't believe I can't believe I listen to this genre on my own unreal so Dan Shay tequila this song uh came out six years ago at least a the video did and the music video uh has 152 million views so these guys are like live at the Grammys live like these guys okay so we're talking like pretty mainstream here let's uh pause let's do this I forgot to make sure that the if the audio was optimized with levels I'm actually going to mute my audio you'll still hear this listening to hip-hop and R&B and and whatnot so I like it didn't I thought this would be a fun like Zack Brown Band like song uh no kind of a beautiful love song most country music dude they always trick me so I'm already like dude there there someone's going to die like that's where my mind's going but I hope not but beautiful dude cool showing this sort of romance here what's the thing that reminds you of your love your your loved one by the way my wife and I we don't drink what is it for me this one's weird but for me like pre-workout and then going to the gym when my wife when my wife and I when we were dating that that those were like kind of our go-to dates for some reason so if I'm like on a business trip and I I'm at the I'm at the gym just missing my wife yeah tequila what's the sign for tequila [Music] and beautiful voice man beautiful I up to the same bar hear the same songs in my car baby your memory it only hits me this hard when I taste to ker baby I still see her comment all right so so the argument kind of started around here right so this was the argument okay so this is my guess they had the map of them coming through like around Utah great place by the way I'm from Chile ended up in Utah hated it now I love it so please don't move here so if it seems like he's like doing some sort of road trip and somehow they broke up here for some reason I don't know why but he's like I'm going I'm gone four years later they meet at the bar cuz she kind of went on the same all right so the music video didn't speak to me if it spoke to you comment down below and why okay but the song beautiful beautiful voice I like the orchestration of it um it's not like Mega country to me but still a good song uh beautiful um you know brings up you know the Bible and the things that remind you of uh of that loved one which we all have things things that hit even harder when you're not with that person you know that when my wife and I were were dating you know before we got married she was kind of on the fence for a bit so we actually kind of broke up for a sec so like during that time she and I we listen to a lot of imagin dragons in cplay couldn't listen to those bands anymore it was just hard but thankfully was like very like momentary um imagine the pain if uh those things that remind you of that person you love and then they're gone yeah there's someone here on on the comment section who says that they lost their their wife and and Tequila REM My First Love passed away when we were 25 and I think of him every time I taste the Kila so I rarely drink anymore the song hit hit me hard when it came out oh jeez so when there's things like that that's rough dude that's really rough oh very good Dan and Shay they're huge for a reason that's one thing I'll say country has some of the best love songs um in in any genre which is also probably one of the things that's drawn me to it so here is yet another prime example but what do you guys think
