mckinley hill mckinley west but yeah it's part of mckinley hill and there is what okay there is actually a very interesting project that is uh developing in that area as well which is the manila subway yes and we will have a station very close to our condo yeah so if you if you don't follow us on our main channel we cover a lot of this stuff a lot of developments happening here in the philippines like the opening of the new skyway the developments of the white sand beach at manila bay all the new parks that are opening up we like to cover that on our main channel so definitely check that out yeah and now it looks like we're going to get some insights into the exciting i remember we watched a video that kind of just announced what kind of projects um are in the pipe for manila but i don't think we have watched a dedicated subway video yeah so this video is about the seven billion um subway project all right before we get into it hit that thumbs up and subscribe let's go all right [Music] a first of its kind in the country a subway over 30 kilometers long covering several busy cities in metro manila the massive project aims to connect carino highway in quezon city and the ninoy aquino international airport in paranyaka city is that 30 kilometers construction started with groundbreaking ceremonies for what could be one of the most ambitious infrastructure programs of the duterte administration the metro manila subway project for the first time the department of transportation revealed sketches and designs of the subway stations okay sorry i had to stop this video quickly i read it's the japan subway system which is a really nice system i remember we we used the subway in new york it was not a pleasant experience though so i'm very happy to see it's uh the japanese subway system japanese subways are awesome yeah thumbs up for that the japanese is well known for having a very efficient train system and the philippines is expected to benefit from the technology transfer very punctual one of the best trends railways so we get improvement technology improvement management system it looks nice though from the closing doors [Music] warning oh there's bird noises i remember that in japan as well i think it's supposed to relax people yeah very cool is that already an actual station 3d model i think this is a 3d model yeah at before my tipping station in japan as planned the metro manila subway project is a 36 kilometer stretch of underground railway it will have 15 stations starting at torino highway in quezon city and will pass by the quezon city and bonifacio global city business districts and down to naio terminal 3. the dltr signed a contract with a consortium of shimizu corporation fujita corporation civil engineering company and the philippine-based pei corporation one and a half mrt line seven 45. the japanese is well known for having a very efficient train system the subway is expected to begin partial operations in 2022. expected to carry 370 000 riders a day among 14 stations spread along 30 kilometers of track the philippine department of transportation expects the line to cut commuting time from quezon city to the airport to under 40 minutes that's incredible that's awesome i mean right now with the skyways yeah one of the first six tunnel boring machines or tbms to be used in the construction of the subway in metro manila is ready the tvm was shown to the dotr officials and members of media during the recent virtual tour and factory acceptance test at the plant in japan where the tbms are manufactured and assembled wow looks crazy six tbms will be used in the construction of the metro manila subway section from venezuela to north avenue another 14 tbms will be used for the remaining sections of the technology look at that look at that thing six kilometers we'll connect bulacan cavite passing through the national capital region and we'll have 15 station those boring devices are so cool [Music] wow 1970s yeah wow good things take time i guess yeah but yeah that would be such a huge improvement for manila yeah i must say i found this video kind of boring get it because of the boring machines bad joke [Laughter] yeah like a subway is going to be really really cool and it's just like step-by-step things that improve life in manila it's developments that we've been seeing over like the past three years really really cool and you know the thing is when you have these subway tracks you know even if you're not going to be using the subway yourself it'll improve life for you because yes less traffic on the road less traffic means less smog means cleaner quality so i hope they will you know force more public uh transportation that is less on the streets and more on the what is it public transport public transport sorry guys um anyways i'm super super happy uh seeing that kind of improvement and i'm quite shocked that it is going to happen
