Forecast: Cooler Temperatures Ahead

all right let's get a look at what's going on with our air quality it is hazy as we look out across the bay area here's a live look outside in san francisco and it's moderate air quality we're having to deal with right now that means if you're sensitive to the smoke you might want to limit your time out there although it does look pretty good for the south bay elsewhere across the bay area as temperatures heat up some of that smoke is going to be settling in the seven-day forecast is coming up at the bottom of the screen take a look at these temperatures where we're headed up to 92 today in morgan hill but in milpitas we're looking at a high of 84 degrees and some upper 70s for hayward you head right over to danville and it's 92 degrees this afternoon and 96 in antioch and near the coast we're looking at some mid 60s half moon bay in daly city and san francisco reaching 61 in the marina district the fog is clearing out and we're heading up to 71 degrees in the mission district north bay temperatures in mill valley reaching 85 91 in santa rosa and 94 today in ukiah so here's what's going on we're all dry throughout the week although we will see more fog coming in we'll also be watching a storm system approaching into the pacific northwest it does look like those showers just kind of fall apart before making it into the bay area but it will be very close and will help cool us off as we go into the weekend looking at our months and how we usually get our rainfall we know that it's normally dry through those summer months but at some times we do get a little bit of rain during the month of september and then a little bit more in october of course then we enter into our rainy season and so it would be nice to get some rain even just a fraction of what they're getting heading over toward texas as we watch what's going on with this new tropical storm coming in and this is something they're going to be watching by this evening unfortunately it does look like it brings in a lot of rain so nicholas is going to be making the headlines for those nationwide stories that we'll be watching here at home it's just going to be hot for inland areas today and tomorrow and then look at the cool down headed our way by the end of the week some of our warmest spots like brentwood and antioch as well as farther to the north and ukiah will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s this weekend is looking much nicer cooler highs in the mid to upper 70s and san francisco will be cooling off as well may even have some mist and drizzle throughout the day on saturday in the city only reaching 62.
