over the past year four dealerships have been doing some extremely Shady things when it comes to the pricing of their trucks and SUVs Bronco buyers were getting ripped off with surprise dealer markups after their custom order arrived at the dealership and they basically told us hey your Bronco's going to be in but guess what we're going to charge you another $10,000 on top of the sticker price because we can markups over MSRP were insane on trucks like the F-150 Raptor R and lightning and Ford CEO Jim Farley said he recognized that they had a pricing problem but eventually did absolutely nothing about it now at the end of 2023 Ford revealed that the F-150 was getting a huge midcycle refresh for the 2024 model year the 2024 truck is not much different but you'll get a fancy new multi-functional tailgate updated styling of the grill and an easier selection of options when using the Ford truck Builder and pricing page over the course of 2023 the F-150 went up in price and thousands of trucks were just sitting on Lots not selling due to a 30% increase in MSRP over just 2 years so you would think that Ford would keep prices the same same for the 2024 model year so they could at least start selling trucks again well that ship is totally sailed and the F-150 has been forever changed it's no longer a vehicle for the middle class and it's now at luxury prices how many people can actually afford these trucks with a 2024 refresh Ford has gone even more insane raising the MSRP of the base F-150 almost $3,000 with the higher trim levels following that Trend as well now that the 2024 models have been revealed I wanted to see if there were any deals to be had on the outgoing 23 models that were wasting away on Ford dealer lots and what I found completely left me in shock all right I am here at the Ford dealership that I've been to a couple of times and I want to find out a couple of things one with the new 2024's being announced and those are going to be coming out real soon are the Ford dealers giving any discounts on these trucks that have been sitting on the lot for a while and two what's the cheapest one I can find and also what's the most expensive one I can find and I did find something really interesting in my time here um it looks like they are actually doing really good at getting rid of a lot of this 2023 inventory because the last time I was here this entire Ro behind me that is now full of uh Ford Explorers as you can see right here this used to be full of F-150 pickup trucks and then also the spot where I'm standing right here had an entire row of F-150 trucks just like you see right here but as you can see now this entire section that used to be full of F-150s is totally empty so I actually have high hopes that I can find something at a pretty decent price so let's see if these dealerships are giving any kind of discounts on the 2023 is to get them out and make way for the 2024's so we've got a row of F-150s starting with some platinums right here and then they go down all the way to the left and then we're down to only the second row uh right here as you can see behind me so I don't have as much to uh look through as I used to again because this entire row here and this entire row here used to be full of trucks and and they're just not there anymore they sold them all and just to show you how much they're selling now this entire row there was like a row here on the left side and a row here on the right side that was also full of F-150 trucks so let's take a walk down these two rows behind me and see what the cheapest one we can find and what's the most expensive and if they're worth buying now let's start with this row because I I think I'm going to find the cheapest one uh here and right at the edge they have this twodo extended cab right here which is a pretty low price actually F-150s always look good in white this is a 2023 4x4 super cab with the 5 L V8 engine and as I go through this window sticker this is where it gets really interesting we got a base price of $42,000 with $8,000 worth of options and of course the 1995 destination and delivery total before discounts 53,000 you get a XL discount and an appearance uh discount looks like they take some stuff off of 750 for for each one saving you $1,500 but where it gets interesting is uh the sticker in the front window that this dealership put on there the MSRP again is 515 they're giving a discount of actually $452 with an added Factory rebate of $500 for a total discount of $520 bringing this truck to $46,490 so seeing a Ford F-150 around the $45,000 range is uh something that I just haven't seen in a long time um but that's the twodo we've been looking at four-doors most of the time and those were like 60 65 plus so let's see if we can find a cheap one out of this row of four doors this one is 64 so that's definitely not it this one is 46 so let's check this out really quick this is a nice gray color pretty basic trim level it is a STX four-wheel drive no bedliner so it's probably going to be a little more of like a lower option one 2023 4x4 Super Crew this one has the EcoBoost uh which I'd rather have the V 6 that the twoo had looks like $5,400 in options those same discounts of, 1500 MSRP of 51300 which is already a lot lower than the uh higher trim levels for 65,000 and 75,000 that I've been seeing but take a look at this window sticker this again also has a discount of $476 which is more than the other one includes that $500 Factory rebate for a total discount of over $5,000 bringing this four-door to $463 so as I go down this row um we're just knocking prices down um this one's 63 that's a little higher trim level this one's 484 which is 2 Grand more than that 46 one but I think I found the cheapest one right here this white also an STX also four-wheel drive no bad liner so it's pretty similar this MSRP is 51065 but it looks like the discount is a little bit higher this discount is $4,800 with the 500 so 5,371 bringing this to $4,695 and so we're now seeing four-door four-wheel drive F-150s at 45 Grand which is really refreshing to see and again it's probably because theyve they've had some of these for a while and now the 2024's are coming out they just have to get rid of this inventory so we got one row left on this side and these are where like the higher trim level platinums are and uh I want to show you the most expensive one that I saw here I'm not going to take you through the whole row uh and spend too much time on that but let's do a quick rundown as we go through here this Platinum here shows that 70,000 on the sticker right there this one's also 70 this is a 55 um here's a Lariat uh this one's 68 47 this one is 62 70 hey 47 this one's 54 68 69 4115 for this black one $7,995 and this is a platinum right here but the most expensive one is actually not on this row it looks like the average here is around 65 to 70 and that's with some discounts I found the most expensive one on this row when I was done checking out this side so it looks like these trucks are topping off around 70 to $72,000 and uh let me show you why they're 70 and uh how big of the discount is on these 2023 Super Crew 4x4 $111,000 in options this MSRP is an insane $79,500 but the price does drop quite dramatically this discount is just straight from the dealer there's no Ford uh corporate discount at $852 uh bringing this to 7,994 so that is still in my opinion expensive for a platinum and to be honest most people really would probably be happy with something like this for 64 or even this for 46 like the interior is nice enough to where it's still comfortable to drive and you're spending 45 instead of uh $70,000 so this right here is the most expensive one uh that I found this is uh the King Ranch which is pretty much like the the fanciest trim level that you can get 4x4 Super Crew echo boost again MSRP of this is $80,000 and it has like the fancy leather interior and uh you know all the Chrome bits this is discounted of $7,000 a little over for $ 7299 and that is the most expensive one that I found on this Ford lot so at the end of the day it's nice to see that with the 2024 coming out real soon that Ford dealers are actually offering pretty significant discounts of almost up to $10,000 off the prices of these 2023 F-150s just to get them off the lot and make room for the new 2024's so what do you think do you think these discounts are enough would you buy one at this point or are you still going to wait to see if interest rates come down and
