For sale: 1985 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel

hey this is daniel i just wanted to give you a little bit more info on the car here and give you some more details um go over maybe some of the the things that have been done the things that you probably still want to do so let's get into it um some of the main things that's been done since i've owned it is turbocharger here which is one of the most intricate parts of the whole engine this whole thing has been rebuilt and replaced um it's got 200 000 miles on it which is pretty good for this type of engine it'll go a long time i got into these because my father-in-law had a wagon version and he's just hold his about six years ago and his had about 360 000 miles on it so um oil change and the uh the valve adjustments that are mechanical valve adjustments are required on these every 6 000 miles that's been done to spec it's pretty easy to do i actually do it myself so um brand new radiator all of this let's see water pump it's going to be hard to see the down here brand new water pump all the vacuum system in pretty good shape um i haven't really had any problems with it at all um i've worked on some of the locking system before i believe i've replaced one of these at one point i've got a bunch of extras too so but never really had a problem with it that's about it under the hood it's got a brand new thermostat here um the ac you'll want to charge that so i think this headlight here is getting some water in there you'll probably want to replace that not a big deal so i just put a brand new hood ornament on it that's kind of not really functional but fun so the tires then one of the next things i was going to do on these rims is actually chrome them i have two extra rims so that was part of the plan on the project wise but they're not in bad shape as far as bodywork dense goes the original paint but it's not bad shape it's you know 1985 you'll see let me see if i can find a spot there's one spot back here you can see it's been touched up in places i would really love to do the full-on high-end paint job on it that would be pretty sweet i've got the color code for the original paint so um the only dent it has it's had it since i've owned it this guy right here it's a tough spot but it's not huge three inches long kind of inconspicuous but it's there um yeah that's about it as far as the outside goes um inside there's the two biggest things are the get in here climate control unit which is this guy right here is out it's been out for a while i just haven't gotten to it yet if the heat comes on without it you just have to force it to come on the heat's really hot it's good but if you want to get it fully functioning this needs to come out i've actually taken it out before to replace a light this front cover pops off couple screws pulls out the new parts about 200 so this is new it's hooked up to a hands-free speaker right here so you can take calls listen to bluetooth this clock has never worked but that hasn't been a big deal to me i have replaced the turn signal unit right here that's brand new um the cruise control hasn't worked so i i haven't worked on that i've never really been a fan of cruise control so it's not been a huge priority for me all this is really good for some of the original paperwork the dash is in really great condition i just keep it covered because i like to protect it but this is the only crack right here that little guy so that's what's going on there and then one of the next big projects would be to rebuild the padding on the driver's seat so yeah that's uh there's a you can get a kit to do it i don't think it's that difficult so otherwise the seats including the passenger are good backseat hardly been used my family never rides in it so can see the upholstery on the hood is good as well so and uh trunk everything's there just needs to clean down but all the original stuff in here i've got the original tools actually that come with it too that's what this little guy is in this kit so rear speakers aren't new and you can't see them from here but there's a space to put bigger speakers they only did four by fours originally in these i was gonna put six by nines in here but the front speakers are new high end you can't see them they're under the mat in here but uh works nicely so uh anyways i hope that gives you a little bit better idea please let me know if you have any questions i'm happy to take more photos answer questions whatever one of the things that i was going to do on it next also these cars aren't known for super smooth shifting with the way that the diesel turbo kicks in especially in that first and second gear but i think this one could be smoothed out a little bit more transmission service and then there's an adjuster on that transmission should smooth that out so anyways thanks so much
