ladies and gentlemen round two heavyweights Toe to Toe with nowhere to go but right through each other in this corner Washington Michael P and this sadr of Playmakers have been a nightmare for defens undefeated and undaunted hunting for a playoff position my goodness their opponent Oregon what an effort my a rival hungry for their own playoff bid and revent and the Huskies survive under the lights of Las Vegas the fight capital of the [Applause] world this is the main event there's so much at stake here the dcks we fireing on all cylinders today the huskys show them what husky football's all about for the final pack 12 championship belt you're about to get in the center of the ring this rivalry will continue into the Big 10 next year and Beyond this is meeting number 115 to send the Pack 12 out in style it has never been bigger Holly row with Ken dor well coach dor given all that's on the line for this game tonight what were the final moments with you and your team like in that locker room yeah just remembering everything we've uh we've done to get to this point and uh what our goal is that's to win a championship you guys have had to win games late the last couple of weeks what's important to setting the tone early tonight yeah we we uh we do usually a pretty good job of getting off to a fast start and so that's always important especially against these guys and uh you know uh in the end it's about how you finish too and so you know we're confident in that Michael pennx has been some of his numbers look down lately but what is still special about him that you can count on tonight yeah I mean he's a baller when matters most you know and he'll make that throw um he's he's going to go out there and attack you know all game long thanks coach thank you deor says his team plays its best when the lights are brightest they are that way tonight they are battle tested six conference wins Kirk by one score or less Oregon has been blasting people since they lost to the hus and I think the reason that's important that this game is a close game we expect a potential shootout much like we saw in the first matchup you get into that fourth quarter and you're Washington you've been there you look each other in the eye and you know you can find a way Oregon hasn't had that opportunity haven't been tested that much except that big game of course but it came up a bit short against the Huskies Huskies beat Oregon by three also last year in Aon Oregon won the toss landing defers penck and this High powerered husky offense get the football first and cam Lewis who played a significant role in the first meeting just missing a potential game tying field goal wide right Daniel Dada deep for the here we go the final chapter in the history of the Pack 12 and the stakes couldn't be [Applause] higher we've been here for a few Kirk it's safe to say this pack 12 championship game has never felt like this before no even in the warm ups can just feel a buzz in the air feels like a semifinal day Michael penx was hit hard by Oregon in that game he played through and he played well to the end can Oregon get pressure on him when he's not pressured the numbers are frightening and as you said all of his key receiving weapons are back and healthy tonight yep one-on-one opportunities keep in mind they had eight contested throws down field against this Oregon defense and they hit seven of them Oregon's got a play better holding up against those throws F play action sidearm pitch is incomplete intended for Jaylen McMillan Brandon Doris made some pressure off the edge here are the impact players tonight yeah we keep talking about it Roman dun head for strong physical downfield McMillan is healthier got to get him the ball they tried there in a slot Brandon dless leads that defensive front they got to get pressure and on the back end number five the Bama transfer Kyrie Jackson and great length and finally healthy he'll be matched up against the Dooms a lot tonight the way he is right now second and 10 it's Dylan Johnson musling forward for about nine the Husky offensive line hoping to Spring him he was impressive and important in the first meeting yeah very under valued maybe overlooked aspect to Washington so much attention on the quarterbacks and the receivers this group there's continuity they're healthy they play I think with a certain level a little bit of a chip on their shoulder and this offense runs the ball a lot better than people really recognize and I think it's a big aspect tonight of their attack Johnson and JY Bernard in the back field and the carry off the left side is just enough to move the six before Dante Manning got him down this is again I love how you said that to remind people on a national level this is a bitter rivalry so you get these short yardage situations you're going to see some big hits that t Manning the corner has to come up and run support just allows Washington to be able to pick up that first down after a first down don't be surprised they get man coverage they get somebody isolated they'll take a shot down field benen has plenty of time scanning down field still searching now running out of time checks it down out and the catch is made and that's uh Johnson out of the back field well that is a great job of keeping this Play Alive he looks to the right to different receivers he has pul there he comes off of it great coverage almost a coverage sack but a good job of checking it down there to Johnson out of the back field to take a negative and turn into a positive you give penx that much time Kirk you got problems covering this group he his pressure he's that's why he's making a check looks like Oregon's still coming Johnson heavy traffic along the boundary and he's stopped right at the line of scrimmage macea among others it'll be third down Dan Landing a head coach Tosh leoy the defensive coordinator one of the biggest things they said is hey we got a lot of respect for pennick we know what they can do throwing the football but if we allow Dylan Johnson to get on track we've got to win the line of scrimmage against a very talented and good offensive line especially these tackles they do not want to have to overcommit to this run game Panic to the perimeter catch made by McMillan who gets around the corner and scoots for a first down inside the next 45 good for the Huskies to have their top slot receiver McMillan has a cushion right here so he's just going to get the ball out immediately that's just pre- snap recognition he's got a couple blockers out in front of it and I really believe this is the aspect of the offense that they've missed they've done a good job of surviving but McMillan's A Difference Maker they haven't had him since really at Michigan State week two 100% healthy you can see he's got a different step tonight piit to The Far Side this is Romo dun one of the elite receivers one of the top guys on Mel Ker's draft board picks up six what what are you seeing right now they're they're attacking the perimeter with these quick throws trying to get the ball out there they got blockers in front that time it was a Dun before that they got the ball out to McMillan we got an Oregon player down looks like the transfer from South Carolina Jordan Burch powerful Athletic Edge Rush you're a key guy on this defense big guy 66 290 just every week got better in this scheme after transferring Bing a leg as he comes off yeah Matteo uang DJ's younger brother is a true freshman who backs up Birch it's a excellent group in front they like this matchup against the US offensive line that Washington is doing well so far in the early stages yeah they are and and you know between the Run game and those quick throws outside what they're doing is they're setting up and eventually going to take a shot when they pump outside those quick throws and they can slip that slot receiver down field test the eyes of the safeties and the discipline of the safeties of the Oregon defense tight end Jack West over to the left the penics in the back field and the throw miscommunication there almost intercepted Kyrie Jackson came across but dday didn't expect the ball there yeah you're right watch the receivers miss you send a miscommunication they're blocked in down field they have no idea that this ball is being thrown to them boy did they catch a break you know in a game like this it's the miscommunication it's the air that's Michael penck saying man that one's on me offensive you know it looked like he was going to attack left the receivers were set up both on the left were looking for the football and on the right they're downfield blocking it's a play you frankly expect Kyrie Jackson to make he's got a couple picks on the ear those long arms on the football so it's third and five and Washington again not clicking here we take a timeout for this play huskys on the Move Lane nine of the drive coming up when you come back Nick and panic fully aware how good each of them has to be tonight because their counterpart is so good you cannot afford too many empty possessions in a game like this yeah and this is how penck wanted to get this game started balanced attack a lot of different formations staying on schedule they've had a third and one a third and two and now we get to this third and five in plus territory H and deor may be thinking go for it here depending on the outcome of this play both coaches have been aggressive throughout the season pennx backpedals delivers across to adun it's a first down inside the 30 when in doubt go to your best weapon picks up 12 yeah and they brought pressure this time on his third down Basset comes here watch the recognition and the pickup and then the field by pennx nice job at picking it up penx moves keeps his feet in his balance and makes an accurate throw boy when he gets his feet settled he is going to put it right on the face mask at these receivers you're right though Johnson a terrific job picking up the blitz he's been a tough resilient guy all season long a complete back he's got the football this time we talked to him throughout the season acupuncture massage he's had knee cartilage issues he just plays through it all yeah he had the foot last week I was talking him on the field before the game it's it's been a lot R grub the play caller for Washington they're going to go some Tempo now here play 11 of this opening drive as Nicks can just sit watch and wait for his turn yeah four runs six passes Johnson again bangs forward it's a first down at the 15 Evan Williams still wearing that heavily bandaged Club in his right hand made the stop well he looks healthy to me he didn't look like this and in the apple cup watch the center right here look at that block BRS for nice job the Right Guard willo and that play opened up a hard hitter a lot of times you'll see more patience from Dylan Johnson's let the blocks establish themselves that time just a quick dive and that hole opened up in a hurry want it be an Umpire or a camera that's pretty good view that was a good shot bunch of Oregon fans in the end of the city where the Huskies are now set up in the Red Zone Back Field is empty fourman Rush penx will be swallowed up by the pressure did his knee go down I thought so but he stayed alive apparently and scrambles for a few poo amova was trying to get him to the ground yeah I thought that right knee came very close to going down around a 22 yd line I'm sure let's see the different angles that we'll have heck of a job by penx to try to keep this alive there's the right knee oh it's so close and this is the knee right here this is the look you're going to want to see yeah he touched it's going to come back to right around the 22 yd line Dan Landing of course fired up on the sideline Mike McCabe the referee the same man who was in charge of the crew for meeting one in Seattle but these are different officials throughout the crew from that first one it's an All-Star team for the Pack 12 Brian Brown is in the replay Booth it's right around the 22 23 yd line so instead of being second and eight after review it was confirmed that the runner was down at the 22 yard line Second down that'll go as a sack a rarity for pck this season yeah they they they're bringing up some different pressure pretty obvious I think we all saw it immediately good job of the officials getting it right so you're looking again at second and eight to now you bring it all the way back to Second and 17 first time the Huskies have been off schedule in this opening possession and remember Red Zone was huge for Washington in that first matchup where they hit a lot of passes down field for Oregon that was the story of the game couple fourth and goals down inside the 10 they couldn't take advantage of it and capitalized so this as you said you don't want to miss chances when you get down in this area Johnson's got the football on second long and he stumbles as he tries to get to the edge picks up just a yard and now third and very long defense is flying you know anytime you move into deeper deep this kind of near the high Red Zone area Dan Landing historically he had to the boy like most defensive aggressive defensive minds they like to dial up things attack the line of scrimmage and make those windows that much tougher on the quarterback play 14 of this drive need to get all the way down to the 6yd line to convert dday down here and they got a safety over top to help andix looking that direction now goes to the other side throws to the end zone McMillan could not call it in a pinpoint throw it was very close fourth down very tight we talked about here's the safety to take away a Dun you're going to see another safety get back in this area to try to help on any shot down field there's Evan Williams dropping he still is able to squeeze that in there able to get that behind taim Johnson there's Odin that's the match up we wanted to see with Kyrie Jackson so Grady gross just order a scholarship after a game-winning field goal to beat Wu in the apple cup and he had missed his previous three kicks from 38 to put the huskys up early here no problem for gross the sophomore from Scottdale but a Red Zone stall after a 15pl drive means that b Knicks Le will take over down just thre Z and I'm with you he got that in there yeah I mean he only went up with one hand but that ball was there and had a chance to be caught the Pack 12 Championship on ABC is presented by Dr Pepper the one fans deserve we left Seattle like 14 who said probably going to see these two teams again clearly the class of the Pack 12 in its final year of existence and now Kirk this is kind of one of those Vegas Texas Holding games so you hang out in the High Roller room huskies and the Ducks are in the Beavers were in the game for a while yeah they had to fold shut it down Oregon comes in as a solid favorite here Washington calls enjoying the under dog roll tonight you had the Flop River the Heisman Trophy that's in play very much for the winning quarterback tonight going way too fast for me you want to slow things down no no black check out so Jordan James will let this one bounce in the end zone and here comes B Knicks finally half the first quarter is gone Oregon's first possession start number six it All Began for him against the Ducks of course in late August of 2019 we were there to call that game it's fun to be here for start 60 it's pretty wild first one and the 60th one and what a difference the transformation these last couple years and even another level this year with Will Stein who's taken over he's had four different offensive coordinators in his five years and tell you I think this is the best fit not just because of the numbers he just looks like he's playing with a lot more freedom he's more relaxed and boys is he making great decisions this year credible tear 25 total touchdowns in the last six games his first read was taken away and he bounced it right off of the Umpire coming across was Troy Franklin I don't think he bounced it he hit him right in the chest and that that that was uh be a good shot he's trying to get out of the way we appreciate it cuz he's got that camera on his left ear but boy that Direct Hit there's the shot for you right there baboom big fell I talked to him before the game I said anyone ever worn this before I said I don't know maybe you're making history tonight we appreciate I told him to get that turn his head to the right so we can get that camera second and 10 Again targeting Franklin but not on the same page yet and he's certainly one of the high impact players tonight for again yeah Franklin that time a little bit hesitant he's one of our impact players Bucky Irving what what an outstanding back number zero Tuli in the inside their best run Defender 91 going off in his passing situation and the best cover man wed tonight he had at for b a few weeks ago we were there can cover loves to be on an island loves to be challenged will transfer out of Oklahoma State Oregon Elite on third down one of the best in the country they need 10 here Nicks gets it out again looking for Franklin it is broken up reaching around butus Dixon a quick three and out three incompletions well when they spread the field with all these receivers it's not just Mah Jam mohamd and Elijah Jackson you got to have other Corners that can step up there boy he might have gotten away with a little pull there with the left arm and you can see the length that he's able to actually get involved in knocking that ball loose so a great play with the right arm that left arm looked like he may have hooked the receiver and got away with it Ross James only had 22 punts this season rarely used drives JY Bernard back to the 20 Bernard reverses field has there's a couple blocks on the edge the punter out there trying to get in his way and he's kind of ushered out of bounds in Oregon Territory what a start from Washington well anytime you get a big return the you got to make the first couple guys miss and there's a Miss tackle now he shakes now he's got the wall and he's got blockers in front of him so that's a great effort here by Bernard who was a former High School running back and he shows that ability in space right here sets it up and then the speed to get to the corner High School running back right here in Las Vegas like could dun say he's playing a homecoming game with a lot of friends and family looking on and a 30yd return sets up penck right at Midfield this Oregon defense got to feel wait a second we were just out here 10 seconds ago cuz that's how much that Oregon drive took play clock on the edge Jaylen pul involved for the first time another one of those Elite receivers picks up seven you know kayin theor does such a good job with what he's created with his husky program in just a couple years hit the ground running last year you know something to keep in mind with the Special Teams Washington's been great all year Oregon that's been a bit of an AES heel we watch that all game Johnson makes a cut Dylan Johnson rumbles into the secondary bangs down to the 26 this husky offense clicking right now and they're pulling lineman out here and out here you think this play is going to bounce but this is the vision of seven foot in the ground cut back good job on the backside blocks there the center brailsford makes a key block outstanding vision and I'm telling you this guy runs with serious power he's explosive Ducks will have a serious problem if they can't stop Johnson Better Than This 41 yards already when his seven Carri he's got 16 that time that's the debate as you mentioned how heavy does the Box have to be to stop number seven's running Blitz ball out quickly poke so elusive this is one man makes one man miss and then spins tackled by Steve Stevens I fourth he's near the marker though this time it's the tight end West over who comes down here watch the Oregon defense respond to the threat of the attacks downfield they're so concerned with how explosive Washington can be remember first match up seven of eight contested balls brought in and caught by Washington or is determined not to give up those big plays pennick seeing that they're forcing him to be patient and he's getting the ball out quick to these receivers letting him do it after the catch so far hard to figure out who you're going to double in the face of this husky team so many weapons second and one Johnson off the right side just running downhill looking very easy for the guys up front so far that time it's kpo who they're using him as a polar quite a bit tonight Center brailsford cppo the left tackle Rosen Gart the right tackle they've gotten out this is a a very underrated offensive line look like Dylan Johnson will check out and they bring n Nixon into the game actually bring uh Newton Rich Newton physical back six Newton excellent job flying up to make the play that time Justin Jacobs the transfer from Iowa so the second Red Zone possession they stall down here a few minutes ago Wasington would love to just take advantage of this early momentum stretching 10 yeah the way they played you don't want to have to settle for another field goal there you know our first time we had this game Justin Jacobs he missed the first six games he was not in that matchup he's been coming around he had a toe injury early and you can see how quick he's able to diagnose and get down Hill that was a good play that time against the Run receivers are bunched and out dun comes in motion across to the right andx look in that direction fires to the pylon and a flag comes out the dun was covered by Dante Manning looks like pass interference at the head at the top of the route Manning grabbed on to him it wasn't after as he tried to get to the football it was at the top of the route he grabbed onto the Jersey the back shoulder fade Oregon has been drilled on all week Defense number eight out the distance to the goal automatic first down see that as he was trying to get to the top of the route to work his way back and and again pennix I think throws that back shoulder fade better than anybody in the country Oregon trying to defend that be aware of it but that time just got two hands he there so first down and goal just outside the five couple of tight ends in the game for the Huskies here it is right here Chris really good look at it grabs a hold of that Jersey ball came in a little bit later than penck wanted it play clock at eight Johnson on the edge racing and Maring his way touchdown Washington The Underdogs pun intended looking great so far now here's the AT&T clicker Odun is out here he's manned up he's going to come here and then just try to pin this to open it up and watch this there's nobody on the edge of this defense once Doom makes that that block on the on the safety nobody there on the edge he just walks to the end zone so they do punch it in this time in the Red Zone this has got to be shocking to to Dan Lanning and Tosh ship they really felt felt like their guys would have a physical Edge against Washington the Huskies have run 20 plays scored 10 points Nicks company three plays so far and they're known for their ability to throw the football but these first couple drives man it's been about the running game to set up opportunities in the pass game aial coverage in Vegas provided by Good Year celebrating the challenge of Road games everywhere are you ready for the road good year more driven you two at the sphere tonight it's pretty cool 3 hours from now they continue their residency well this is Kyrie Jackson one of the guys who's played in more big Championship Games M abama than the other guys and trying to get his DBS to he said settle down down yeah I mean his first two drives at 10 minutes and 49 seconds and they controled the clock up to this point running and throwing Nicks three incompletions to open up his 60th start you think that he's immune to the pressure and the nerves he's seen at all but this is a championship game and it's the first time he's played in this type of a game with a trophy in the building and a little shaky frankly in the first series I I do remember as his parents here look on they're fired other his Patrick there on the right blocking out all the noise which he's had to do the last few years but they 2918 in the first meeting in the third quarter with about 10 minutes to go in the third quarter so they had to fight back to get into that game and have a chance to win it have plenty of time to settle in but extra attention now on this early series for the ducks can they get Bucky Irving going can they get their typical offensive balance Irving's got it and he's met right in the hole by tatala he was out against the beavers in the Civil War good to have him back tonight tatala gets down downhill boy he is outstanding plays with intelligence and instincts you talked about Bucky Irving he was ready for it there chatala one of the veterans who drives the defense incredibly experienced Washington team anytime you see two safeties like this with Oregon a lot of times that's a sign for running the football in said they throw it to Irving out of the back field three blockers on the edge do their job a solid elah gets him out third Chris I apologize there the the motion from Irving brought that other safety down so he had three in front they just want to try to get the ball in space and with that safety dropping down they went to a one high look with the safeties and by the way for Washington it's great to see some of these safeties back healthy that's been a problem for them all year most especially 20 ACA Turner who's been out the majority of the season a long yard needed on third down Nicks on the move has to pump F and Retreat uhoh and throw it away so they tried to throw for it in third and one brayan tce drove him back about 15 [Applause] yards I think he's expecting man coverage and Jamar mohamd off to the right he sinks and then he takes away that quick throw that he wanted nothing he could do outstanding job of disguising by Muhammad to take that throw away you could see that he was just about to release it when Muhammad came off of the receiver going downfield and took the underneath throw n pow knocked him down after he threw the football so Oregon got the initial first down but has to boot it away Jeremy Bernard waves for a fair Catch and makes it at the 22 this husky defense terrific job surprising call for you in third and one give how much Irving has run through the husk not necessarily just because you know typically they they get the match up that they want they go in motion here this is the the great play that that stood out to me Mohammad communicating looks like he's going to stay right in this area but instead he comes off he's able to take that away that little throw that he wanted out in the flat and I think the coverage really surprised him they showed man they went to Zone after the snap and I think B Knicks surprised place that's it three two three and outs one for five for Knicks ri's back to work hand off around the right side Jeremy Bernard all that defensive brain power over the Oregon sideline let's see what adjustments what they can do they've been looking a little bit confused here just sitting up here two minutes to go in the first quarter wouldn't you say Washington looks like a team that's heard about enough of being a big Underdog against the team that they beat they're 12-0 Oregon has one loss two Washington they heard all week about how great Oregon is right now you got the team in purple playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder downfield for poke gets over his hands almost unprecedented Kirk to have a team undefeated running the golet in the Pack 12 in a deep year almost a double digit Underdog as you said over it scene that they did beat in a tight game but it's very very unusual in history of yeah no doubt and I think kayin dor it's not like he has his head in the sand you know this day and age of course coaches always looking for a little bit extra to get 18 to 22y olds fired up don't think he hadn't brought that to their attention that people don't respect them they're an underdog they were an underdog in cor valis against Oregon state so they they feed off of that negativity and use it as motivation p on the move on third down throws it Far Side catches made now where will they spot and modun caught the football and it looks like forward progress will move the sticks yeah he caught it right at the sticks well that's a great look at it right there I mean that's right on the line Bill what do you think of that hey that's an excellent job by the officials to get that spot uh cuz he got hit and knocked back it is a first down call Johnson the Nickleback made a nice play they knew exactly where he was they were trying to go fast because that getting that first down they weren't lined up offense not all 11 players were set 5yd penalty remains first down nobody shifts and moves before the snap quite like Washington they don't play high Tempo but they force you to feel rushed on defense because they move around so much and especially after that completion where it was really close and before Dan Lanning could potentially challenge that hey let's hurry up but uh the receivers is not quite set so they have been they have not been behind the sticks they've been dictating things by being positive on first and second down first and 15 slant dun takes a big shot met immediately after he caught the ball by Johnson short game the NFL is going to love her doomsday 63 215 has the ability to go down field they move him around but you can see here is a tough dude local guy at of Bishop Gorman a national Powerhouse High School football program as you said these guys that are coming back home are are fired up he and Bernard one of three bnov finalists to the top receiver in the country eight 100yd games for o doomsday second and nine final minute of the quarter they bring late pressure pen gets it out and it's Giles Jackson who is taking a red shirt year he played Four regular season games to keep that red shirt but now he's turned loose in the postseason one of the things that had hurt Oregon in that first game Chris was the corner play remember Kyrie Jackson had a hip that game he was trying to fight through it he just hurt his wrist it looked like or his hand on that last play to a doomsday so he went out for a play he does not look comfortable but they know how important he is to this defense a dominant quarter for the Huskies total yards 17-9 and the lead is 10 back for quarter two after this m and a word your local ABC [Music] station set for the second quarter of the home of the Raiders P championship game on ABC bu Dr Pepper surprising to most Ducks two3 anounce six plays in the quarter Husky eight first downs beautiful balance running and passing they face a third and five here to begin the quarter were four of five converting in the first quarter balanced attack again Ryan grub has a great plan 12 runs 13 passes stand on schedule giving pennick and his offense a real good chance to convert on those four or five Oregon showing that pressure they back out and rush for Penn has it takes and launch down field over the head of jayen McMillan who had a step on Evan Williams the safety and it's Fourth Down Bo had a match up that they want every time against Evan Williams who's a hard hitter he's matched up right here but look at that space to work third down and short okay I'm going to go out right here for first down nope I'm going for a touchdown had him beat Williams was expecting that out he wanted him he thought he grabbed him on that outcut and then when he turned up field but boy Oregon catch a break there penni doesn't miss that hardly ever should be 17 nothing right now with the pat coming Evan Williams the top tackler on this Dutch defense but not a guy you want left alone with McMillan out there as Johnson back pedals and makes a fair catch at the8 yd line well what is B Knicks thinking right now what can he do to kind of get this engine going this High powerered engine well will Stein the play caller has to just kind of block out what's happened here these first couple series not worry about bone Knicks not worry about Heisman Trophy I'm not saying they are they're pinned inside their own right around their 10 yd line will Stein doing a great job this year it's about just let's get a first down let's get our rhythm going and let's try to get this run game established only once with the decks held scoreless in the first quarter Stanford played keep away Nicks had very few opportunities but it was only three nothing after the quarter and the course turned it around and hammered the Cardinal different deal t this team Irving stopped after a three yd game Carson Bruner has been a tackling machine lately got him down Oly well B next has been on a roller coaster throughout his college football career but it was just this year he decided to seek out a sports psychologist at Oregon Dr Mula has worked with both Justin Herbert Marcus Mariota guys who've been in this position before and he said he worked this week on just being present in the moment not putting too much on it having his mindset be calm and even though it hasn't gone well he's been super calm and composed on the sideline mix complete underneath the Johnson is spins free Johnson very elusive very dangerous with the football and that's their first first down he picks up 17 yards he's got great body control and does a good job showing what he can do after a catch looks left comes back right makes a nice throw this is what special right there young man who transferred over from Troy Johnson again again slips a tackle he got through the grasp there and he's knocked out by tce yeah if he goes for close to 60 yards tonight through the air he'll go over a th yards on the season you know 11 Troy Franklin gets most of the attention he's had a monster year for Bo Knicks but TZ Johnson doing a good job and able a couple throws are able to dig themselves out of that hole where they were back at their own 10 Johnson was a weapon in the first meeting with seven against udubb two back look Jordan James joining Irving here on second and three Nicks has the keys to the offense does a lot of checking telling his running backs what to do he had said you've run right James we'll hand it up to Irving up the middle first down yeah with both those backs in the back field Bo Knicks can pull that makes the the Washington defense have to respect the edge watch the edge of the defense especially eight Trice he sees that action you got to be careful is B Nick's going to keep it is he going to run option is he going to maybe potentially pitch that outside so by holding that edge you get a nice crease there into the middle Irving who a excellent receiver one of the best in the sport as a running back was far right they fake it to him there a designed run for Knicks who hammers forward a solid gain about five you know he done so well throwing the football you forget that he is a threat running the ball and he runs hard you going back to his Auburn days coming out of high school he was one of the top dual threat quarterbacks and you can it's a nice little part of their offense to make you have to respect the threat of him holding that ball and keeping it off those reads person Bruner out of the game for the Huskies on a second and five play Nick is pressured gets it out quickly catches made over the middle by Terrence Fergus in the tight end who's been limited with a foot injury this week playing through some pain yeah Chris you picked that up Cornelius for some reason instead of picking up this pressure outside he starts to and then he goes inside and the best pass rusher on the husy defense says all right I'll I'll take that free release still a little mix up there but a great job by B Nick getting that ball out of his hands quick I think he sensed that pressure and fail it beginning to get this offense going now on first down throwing again that's made by Franklin and he skips free husky DB's not doing a great job of tackling so far a lot of yards after the catch here in this drive yeah with that soft corner it's a cushion and B Nick sees he's got an RPO here they do it a bunch with Will Stein they can run this football offensive line they're coming off they're seven eight yards down field blowing people off the line but puddles will be happy that b Knicks made a good decision to get the ball out quick and the first down four for four on this drive for Knicks he processes as well as any quarterback and it's why he's one of the highest been Front Runners he's like an NFL quarterback with his ability and the football junkie that he is two tight ends in the game he's looking for one of them on The Far Side casy Kelly shut out it's another first down ducks are clicking now tal got him out but they're inside the 25 well I think they the defense gets caught up thinking about this HB back right here Herbert watch how he holds the defense they're concerned about this and it freees out the edge nobody's out on the edge nobody picks up the big fella Casey Kelly well-designed play of hiding him on the front side they're caught up on the backside with Herbert only the fifth catch of the Season R Kelly you can understand why he didn't draw huge attention there Irving F his way didn't have an explosive really long run against Wasington but time and again in that first meeting he was getting downhill and getting small to mediumsized chunks body shots yeah yeah that's a great way to describe it he's 195 lbs if you look at him right there he does necessarily looked like he's 195 but he's very surpris you with how physical of a runner he is Jump Cuts he's quick but just runs with passion kind of a chip on his shoulder running Style James spells him Nicks pitches on the edge there to Johnson and that time no yards after the catch nice play by Cameron for mulana the safety oh they've missed these safeties haven't they watch how quickly he responds sees that motion he knows right away okay they're going to throw it no chance to make that block because of that quick reaction they try to get Terrence Ferguson out there to make a good block that's a tight end that's a favorable match up but the how quickly he diagnosed and and fired drew that took that play away immediately and that play by foric sets up a third and long they need nine play clock winding down Nicks has protection over the middle incomplete tried to get it into the Franklin and for El made the play there's a flag down not where the receiver and DB came together it's on the far side what a difference offside Defense number eight 5yd penalty replay third down raand T lines up offside and it'll be a third and four coming up now I don't think he lined up off sides Chris his head is off sides well doesn't that count I guess it's technically why I usually think a guy's hand is off sides but his helmet is just hanging out look at this just hanging out across the line there but these safeties different look with 20 and 13 back there with the communication and the reaction time don't want to give Nicks too many second chances on the third down they had made the stop there Oregon was going to kick a field goal slant incomplete again very well defended by Jabar muhamad who drives that box and says thumbs down this area is closed tonight believes in his abilities he does Franklin's down and I think you get a good pass rush here but Bo Knicks has a great throwing Lane and puts it where it needs to be to to Franklin who's his top receiver but I'll tell you what man Mohamad tight coverage you see by the way brillan tce just knock connly the tackle off off his feet yeah a lot of power number eight leverage low Center gravity for a defensive end this is a concern the left shoulder for the deck's best receiver being looked at Fourth and four when you come back Al reporting the athletic training staff for Oregon looking at the strength and the mobility of the left shoulder of the guy who had a monstrous season program records this year for yards and touchdowns another look at the great play by mohhamd I tell you mohamd again the great game that we had a couple weeks ago look at that right hand get in there on a third down play to get that ball out 13 starts at Oklahoma State last year he's the most tested Corner in the power five he keeps saying bring it I love those opportunities to make plays like that so here's cam Lewis in his fifth year his first college football game was against Bo Knicks in 19 when Knicks played for Auburn hasn't been Rock Solid this season or the second half of the season but from 35 Lewis knocks it right through and the Ducks are on the board it was a 72 yd Drive in 12 plays not what they were looking for but they cut the lead to seven the Pack 12 Championship on ABC is presented by Dr Pepper the one fans deserve it's vwe at ESPN we partner with v Foundation to highlight the urgent need for cancer research want to highlight this guy d y Yama you've enjoyed his pictures from the sidelines of our football games for years there he is with his daughter he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer last November he's gone through chemo immunotherapy had a pregame visit with Rex his positive attitude is just so inspiring and we wish him well and all the other folks who are battling cancer if you're able to v.org donate every penny goes to cancer research than we appreciate you Mick was able to get going in that drive KK had six completions the running game isn't clicking yet but the Ducks able to get on the board and now let's see what their defense can do against penx and Company well again it it's been a very balanced approach here in this first half one thing about Dylan Johnson he's been running tough he's got 52 yards 35 of those yards have come after contact so see if they continue to challenge the Ducks up front they're winning that battle with the line of scrimmage so far this is coming off the ball pen nine for 14 mostly underneath completions did Miss McMillan on a play that could have made it 17 nothing the overthrow in the last series Pulu motions pennx looks down field and finds o dun so talk to cover him he beat Johnson the Nickelback yeah what a match up against against Johnson in the slot they moved him outside now they get him inside that's the matchup that they wanted doesn't get a hand on him doesn't slow him down and you allow pennick to be able to throw in Rhythm nobody close to him they're going to hit that 10 out of 10 times big game to get this drive started how about that route two moves in there tough enough to stay with him with one move that's the match up that they want I love how grub is moving him around now they got him down to the bottom here back to that split in position and West over the tight ends in the back [Applause] field took a look at a doom was covered now checks it down to West over who picks up about four before Jacobs knocks him down a big story to me that's unfolding is continues to be the line of scrimmage not just the Run game but Michael penck when he has this kind of time any quarterback's going to pick you apart but especially the Lefty with his accuracy you let him work through his progressions one to two to three and he's got nobody in his face someone's going to get the ball in their hands duck blitzed him more than any team had up to that point other teams began to copy that the pennx was hit hard by Oregon in that game in October he kept gby holding his chest after that took a shot to the midsection Here Comes lay pressure right at the middle pennic back pedals and checks it for McMills and he's knocked out inside the five a Bullseye from the quarterback husky on the doorstep and this what happens when you show the mug look the linebackers and then bring the safety watch my man Dylan Johnson pick this up now it's oneon-one if you're able to pick it up he sits in there and does pinnix has just enough time and there's our guy jayen McMillan been out of the lineup most of the year you can see by the way he's running these routes doesn't have that big offensive lineman brace on back to running like himself there he number nine feeling good Dylan Johnson set to take a direct snap first and goal from the four pop pass to Bernard around the end and Jeremy Bernard and the Huskies respond to the Ducks field goal with a quick touchdown Strike wow watch these tied end right here all three of them and watch how they pave the way great job of setting the edge and then 37 West over who's lined up he's a tight him he's lined up as a fullback bang that block makes it easy you think he's going to keep it but instead he gives it to Bernard that High School running back and he shows you what he can do with the football in his hands Bernard saying it feels extra sweet back in my hometown he and AD dun lady Osio the defensive side three guys from Vegas here line of scrimmage how surprised are you by the way very surprised very because you know about penx right you know what he can do you know what the receivers can do fivey pen but the offensive line has been a incredible success for Washington and their protection hasn't been in sharp and I'm sure there have been some conversations the Scott h offensive blind coach the quarterback wasn't exactly thrown to the ground a lot but he was pressured and hurried more in recent weeks but I'm just talking overall the battle up front man purple dominating so far long way to go is a long way to go but this is the biggest deficit the ducks have faced this season down 14 they've been crushing people how great is it to see McMillan back to pick up the blitz there by Dylan Johnson and he givs the direct snap to Johnson instead of keep it gives it to Bernard great blocks on that left side he takes it in and the Huskies are off to a great [Music] start at halftime the Dr Pepper tuition giveaway a couple of deserving students are going to compete for a life-changing $100,000 grand prize in tuition from Dr Pepper coaching anybody up this time I just say anything but the the uh like the oh you don't like the CH chess pass pass no I'm not a big fan of that we're big fans of Dylan Josh just because of the way he approaches the game and leav in Mississippi State where he was productive he's got a son picked out this offense to Showcase his skills for his future he's got his first career touchdown pass that little pop pass to Bernard count pass so he's one for one high percentage P yeah yeah well if you're an Oregon fan you you're still battling what happened on this last Drive they remember they started at their own 10 the difference and finally getting this offense going the ball is getting out this has been a real strength of B mixes all year able to process able to diagnose and with he and will Stein together they've been a handful for most defenses they have faced and keep in mind they one of these offenses just when you think oh boy Washington's got them figured out I'm telling you in the blank of an eye they can find somehow to light that fuse and they can get it going will this be that drive ni to Irving a low throw nice catch just above his shoots off but timing of the play wasn't great railand go for got there and he loses a yard yeah go for in there they rotate him and he is flying around number 10 USC transfer they're showing some depth right now by rotating linebackers and defensive lineman continue to stay fresh against this Up Tempo Oregon attack go for stepping in there I still don't see Carson Bruner excellent linebacker they've been looking at his shoulder in the Washington sideline not out there again for this series oh right into the backside of a blocker Irving knowwhere to go a very clog middle it's because they're getting pushed back Lula yeah you like you said there 99 does a good job of pushing back right back into the back field we're talking a lot about Washington's offensive line winning the line of scrimmage the the Ducks off line struggling to get any push at all Bruner back in the game now at the middle linebacker position for this third and nine husky Crow roaring have not converted a third down tonight Knicks underneath Ferguson knocked down by fabiculanan well short and they still haven't converted on third down and they're showing pressure with the snap and then they drop here and here's the the safety for Pilan who makes this play drops down I'm telling you Chris there's such a difference with recognition disguise communication with fabiculanan and ASA Turner back in this lineup 20 and 13 seeing it very quick taking away those underneath throws no yards after the catch as healthy they've been all season at the right time Benzel Boston back to receive the pun and boss James just got it away it's a good boot drives him back to the 16 yd line but the ducks in four possessions have got three and out three times 53 yd punt Capital One halftime report minutes away Boer McFarland Kevin aandi here in studio Florida State having a major quarterback question mark we will have more information on that speaking of quarterbacks it's m Michael penck Jr starring in Vegas no doubt and the Washington offensive coordinator Ryan grub is doing an outstanding job of taking advantage of the Oregon defense and the physicality the Huskies is controlling the game up and down the field that's a surprise because Oregon was supposed to be the more physical team Huskies got the message that they are dogs Chris Kirk back to you 4 37 before half time PN and the Huskies trying to add to this two touchdown lead from the pocket looking for Odun say two guys were on and that time couldn't stop out near Midfield he works from the left on a deep crossover he's here works all the way across they have a linebacker that helps out here Jeffrey Basset who's a former safety so you're right it's kind of essentially a bracket but with his speed acceleration gets down field and Pen again has time those two are lethal combination that's a 34 yd chunk Johnson cuts it back and gets about three who on this Oregon defense can make a play at this point yeah well when you quarterback has time and he has that kind of accuracy he's running away from Dante Manning gets helped by the linebacker but it doesn't matter but again look at the accuracy you they're winning the line of scrimmage they're spreading the ball around Odun has 84 McMillan has 57 Johnson has 52 running the football I mean it's it's not one guy tonight here comes the reverse Flea Flicker and pennx back to Odun who gave it to poke who gave it to penx who gets it back to the receiver who's got a first down inside the 40 I go right back to our Zoom with with you and and Holly and I with Ryan grub and I think it was Holly might have brought up maybe some trick plays and he just kind of smiled and he said yeah you're going to see a few things and here's one of the things he's talking about the Convoy in front of him all of that and they get enough for the first down Ryan grub is dialing up right now Steve Stevens fought through all those husky blockers to make the tackle that looked like could have been a bigger yeah he saved saved the touchdown manx whips it down to McMillan again ludes a tackle gets a block and is tripped up but not before he's down to the 21 Ali well guys romad dun told us he has about 66 friends and family members here they're all wearing matching shirts with number one he is so proud to be from Vegas and playing here he told me before the game that he planned on balling out but the one member of his family that's not here is his grandfather who's gone through a traumatic brain injury and lost his sight he's at home but he listens to every game so hey Grandpa Rome is doing great and he's doing it in your honor here tonight he's doing fantastic really cool to see all the matching tshir of this section there penx is pressure that time locks it to will Nixon knocked down hard Nixon has some space but ball couldn't quite get there they are a corner pressure team when you get on the hash you better be ready for the Potential Threat and it's Kyrie Jackson actually bring pressure from both sides off the edge you see right there it's it's taim Johnson but also five bringing it from the the boundary but somehow penx gets it out somehow some way he felt that to get it out there but Nixon unable to hold on to it would have been a great catch inside of two minutes this time it's Nixon on the pitch and he's knocked down by Johnson inside the 15 third down coming up he will take a timeout here think about how what they're doing right now Oregon is an aggressive defense they usually like to set the tone and dictate things themselves with Dan Lanning but right now you got a Washington offense that is attacking in different ways different formations different Personnel groupings and they're attacking wide with those quick throws they're running up the middle and then they're taking the shots down field so there's just a there's a lot to deal with for Oregon and they can't get pressure consistently on pinnix to get him out of that Rhythm you pointed out inspiration and that's a good point but execution in a short week remember they you know they played on Saturday that one less day to prepare than Oregon the execution is is phenomenal right now for this husky team really on both sides well and the execution is phenomenal when you can dominate the line of scrimmage right and it allows one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the country to be able to throw with one hitch ball is out or he's able to survey the coverage and find that second or third option and then they can run the ball so right now they have the entire Playbook open Oregon has not been able to take anything away Landing took a timeout that time trying to force a field goal attempt and deserve time for his offense before halftime Quick Pitch that time poke is wrestled down behind the line of scrimmage he'll lose yardage his fourth down and comes a field goal attempt a big time play by taim Johnson they went empty they put Dylan Johnson all the way to the top out at the right got it matched up against Kyrie Jackson but I think they expected that quick throw they had five linemen and to be able to protect Michael penx that ball had to get out quickly so smart play of anticipating the quick throw there by Johnson so 64 yd drive and Brady gross on for his second field goal attempt using those two timeouts means that he'll give Nicks a chance before halftime to cut into the lead and of course Oregon will get the ball to begin the third quarter here's a moment here Michael penck couldn't watch he could not watch this gate winning field goal by Grady gross he had had a a little bit of a slump before that but this moment in the locker room after the game winner to beat Wu and you know what Al G is thankful for the scholarship he's earn that's great when it's celebrated by the teammates it's amazing frankly that he wasn't on scholarship as the kicker all year nothing like that though right I love It's the reaction from the teammates that make those videos 37 yd attempt here and for two from 38 and 37 his first field goals as a scholarship kicker feel pretty good no doubt about it and I'd like that Dan Lanning did right there at the end of this half got the two timeouts rolled the dice there hoping they'd get a stop on third down they got it they did it this use that second timeout now like you said a minute 39 depending on what happens here on this kickoff the one timeout and as bad as this first half is felt what can B Knicks do with this football because remember they deferred so they do get the ball to start the second half but they need points here to get their confidence and to get themselves back into this game hus had that Marathon March that took half of the first quarter ni the offense went out there and and didn't look as calm and poised and dialed in as you expect him to a little unsettled at the start and again only once have they've been able to sustain any kind of drive again three three and half that doesn't happen no still had not converted a third down so keep that in mind depending on what happened here on this drive meanwhile the Huskies have piled up 256 yards so far to be a Touchback Knicks will begin from the 25 Good Year again providing the aerial coverage on this nice night in Vegas Road tested and game ready are you ready for the road good year more driven when these teams have rematched in a conference Championship Game typically the the first time winner has won the second time it's the old addigy hard to beat a good team twice y that that's a pattern that's pretty held consistently here in the Pack 12 there's been a lot of rematches no doubt about it Chris up top Franklin remember that shoulder hurt him he has had a quiet first half they top receiver only one catch for 11 yards mohamd checking him on the left side Nicks is looking to the right across the midle and the catch is made by Tess Johnson Johnson eludes a man and this drive off to a great start he's knocked out about the 36 thought there might be a flag Hampton hit him in the paint watch how bonck throws the ball back to the inside to bring his receiver back where now he can make a play after the catch outstanding location on that football by B knck 39 yd game B says good no call Nicks steps up and off his back foot just heaves into open space Here's a throw the last completion yeah we got to go fast because they're in Tempo but I loved how he brought him back away from the defender and a chance to be able to catch that football while he's moving and going away from the defense allowed him to get some big yards after the catch there Johnson you mentioned he's a very productive receiver himself he's going to be he's over a th yards now but he's had to step up because he pointed out Franklin has not been a weapon yet just one catch 11 yards play CL at three off the play fake again finding Franklin just for the second time it's a first down inside the 25 good job with that motion put with that motion a corner had to respect that out to the flat made a nice easy throwing Lane and nicks gets the ball out fast plenty of time here with the way they operate offensively still with a one timeout and a minute five to go with a quick throw it's off the hands of Irving and the slant usually very sure-handed running back had it had him one-on-one against go for the the linebacker they pulling him out split like you said he has almost wide receiver skills very fortunate that ball anytime that ball goes up in the air worry that a Defender sees that deflection dive to make an interception but the ball hits the ground gives the Ducks another opportunity throw was high for Micks to be fair to Irving he clock again down at two Knicks looping throw and that was Franklin and mohamd that match up now a flag comes and came in very late didn't see it initially mohammd says it was uncatchable but it is a pass the interference signal against Washington well Franklin could not get around muhammd he was pretty proud of himself he thought he played good in coverage Bill Defense number one 15 yd automatic first down Bill the slant and go on that second move they engaged but mohamd has his eyes in the backfield what do you see there I don't see anything that caused an advantage disadvantage I would have preferred a no call on that play okay and in his position where he was he's looking at the quarterback that's why I thought typically they'd let that one go that's a big call Y going to be fourth down now the Huskies are back backed up first and goal for Oregon Mi is kept it makes a cut and Dives down takes a hit Elijah Jackson at the one yd line they still have that one timeout not using it here so Reed ztf collapse down and then took Bo Knicks B Knicks accelerated around him iring again nothing doing heavy traffic Manning may have to spend the final we go again here we go again remember game one into the first half this is a good job with that speed he's trying to get to the end zone boy he runs hard remember into the first half they ended up not being able to put it into the end zone and they did not take the timeout so clock ticking with 14 seconds Nicks looking to throw it in the end zone L it for Ferguson one handed touchdown catch what a play by the tight end is playing hurt tonight Nick's parents saying you checking that replay yes it counts that's 75 yard seven playay Drive exactly what the Ducks needed certainly a by a controversial pass interference that would have resulted in a field goal attempt that had not been called they show run out of this look and Ferguson lined up here he's going to show block and then he's going to slip out typically if it's played right defensively the safety Hampton is able to stay with that they show looks like quarterback run he does a nice job of selling it but a better job by Ferguson 3 of showing block and then slipping into that corner and gets the toet tap and secures the football B Nick sells it safety Hampton bites on it and they get that touchdown and I go back to the end of that Washington possession when they utilize the timeouts to to conserve the time to give Nicks just enough time to get a touchdown on the board and I keep reminding people Oregon does get the ball now to start the second half so worked out to Perfection for the Ducks slow start for Knicks since then 11 to 14 remember how effective he was as the game wore on you know for most of the second half he had one incompletion against the huskys in that first minute he was 14 of his first 15 after [Applause] halftime if you want to correct it that pass interference on a second and would have been third and 10 not not fourth round but it certainly changed a lot about that drive yeah three Conference Championship games on ABC noon Eastern Time 11:00 in Arlington number seven Texas trying to make a playoff case against Oklahoma State SMU and T Lane Green Wave looking like they're position if they can get that win to get into a New Year's six bowl game and of course the ACC game in Prime Time Florida State questions about the quarterback healthare take it on Louisville penx takes a knee to end first half dominated by Washington but punctuated by a touchdown drive for the Ducks and the margin is 10 at the break let here from kayin debor with Holly well coach what do you see on the line of scrimmage right now from your team yeah I'm really proud of the way we're playing uh both sides uh offensive line and defensive line controlling uh the Run game on our end and also uh forcely men some third and Longs on DARS Jabar Muhammad's been so good for you all year but a crucial interference called there what did you say to him when you brought him over to the sideline yeah I mean when the ball is that far out of bounds um and you know it just I mean he's off but uh looked pretty uncatchable to me what do you have to do here in the second half just stay the course you know keep playing and um you know our guys will do that we've uh been in this many times so we know what it takes thanks coach thank you well this Duel of elite High has been contending quarterbacks first half the panics through for 192 great protection up front 2011 for The Underdogs here the Capital One Halftime Report with Kevin nandhi and Boer McFarland is coming up right after these messages welcome to the Capital One halftime report the 116th meeting dating back 123 years none bigger than tonight Dylan Johnson the physicality for the Huskies and the Huskies have been the more physical team which is surprising kale because you've heard it all along Dan Lanning SEC roots coming to Oregon you thought they were going to be the more physical team Washington up 20 to 10 Capital One rewarding performance Oregon usually the team that leads on the yards after catch column but so far in the first half it's Washington's passing attack that really stood out led by Michael penx Jr this offense Booger McFarland Kevin a here this offense hasn't looked this good since the first half of the first game between Washington and Oregon what's working for penx Jor well they're doing a very good job of coming what I said going to the store Kevin and there's a sale it's called bu one get yeah all right you buy one you get one free let's take a look at a couple plays here to me this has been one of the things that's been outstanding we're going to get receiver at the top receiver to top if you want it Kev throw the bubble there's your free play but if you don't like that guess what I'm going to give you I'm going to give you a different play I'm going to pull the backside guard I'm going to lead him up in here I'm going to give the ball to your running back and we're going to come down the middle and split your defense buy one play at the top of the screen you get the Run for free some people call it an RPO I call it a Boog go let's go down to the goal line K let's get physical understand this I'm going to show you a couple guys let's look at that receiver look at that corner they're in manto man coverage all right that means wherever the receiver goes the DB has to go I want you to remember that that DB is going to come dig that safety out we're going to pull this tackle we're going to pull the guard and again the physicality of the Huskies setting the line setting the edge getting into the end zone wide receivers blocking this is my favorite one though K you got to love this we got a six-man Zone pressure by the Oregon Ducks this guy is going to drop out of here but here's what I want you to pay attention this safety and this running back Dylan Johnson keev you think this game doesn't mean much watch watch the physicality of that block right there that's a running back against a safety in the Pack 12 championship game to keep my quarterback clean and now I hit a big play that's been the story of the game so far yeah Ryan grubs the offensive coordinator for Washington is scheming up the Oregon defense whether it's RPO or the BOGO as I call it whether it's the physicality down by the goal line or it's really simple from an off offensive standpoint Dylan Johnson the running back transfer running back stepping up in meeting the safety giving a quarterback time to throw it almost seems like to me the Washington huskys hurt all along oh yeah we're the underdog oh yeah we won last time but we're the underdog we'll show you and they performed that way in the first half deor has this team determined especially on the defensive side too cuz bonick he he lives in that screen space right and the physicality of the Dbacks right there you mentioned they were sticky sticky man cover it's really simple when you're going to throw the football short yeah means the ball has to come out of my hands quick well what do you need you need space so if you're Washington don't give them space get sticky and then if they do catch it tackle the outside leg don't make don't allow the guys to go up play the sticky man coverage really good job here scrambling by the defensive line B knck was going to try to make a Michael Vic play he couldn't defensive line stand after me and then again you talk about the sticky coverage K got away with a little tug there but understanding what type of offense you're going to play Oregon is an offense the ball likes to come out of their hands quick oh Nick he they lead the country and have to catch Ball's coming out quick Washington understands who they're playing and the game plan so far is really good now if you're Oregon what adjustments do you make adjustments double moves go down the field hit some deep balls over the top and allow that coverage to loosen up so your receivers like Troy Franklin can catch the football and make some moves okay we will see how this plays out in the second half the chess match right now though Oregon gets the ball to start the second half Washington feeling very good doubling up the Ducks meanwhile we've got some big question marks undefeated Florida State dealing with some major questions heading into tomorrow at the quarterback position while Texas they may need some help to keep their playoff hopes alive it's about finding the four best teams who's going to play for the national championship the college football playoff selection show Sunday on ESPN welcome back to Dr Pepper championship week it's all right in front of you preparing your whole life for this moment welcome to the Pack 12 championship game Johnson on theed racing Washington playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder catch does get the ball and start the second half at the final Pack 12 ever is the first top five Collis in this conference in 47 years welcome back to the pack gold championship game on ABC presented by Dr Pepper this kicks off Dr Pepper championship week part of act 12 on ESPN we say goodbye to this conference somewhat Bittersweet a little bit whiskful but in the meantime we got a high six game and a good first half and Oregon making a statement Kirk at the end of that half to cut the lead to 10 they'll get the ball right now here yeah if you go back to that first half the way it started a couple three and outs the game got away from right away with the way Michael penx was executing so they haven't been able to really run their offense they haven't been able to run the football at all I think you'll go back to will Stein the play caller being who they are which is running the football and the play action and doing what they do with B Knicks but that first half it was really all about B Knicks and the receivers I think when they saw Washington moving the ball effectively and scoring points all of a sudden wait a said we better try to match this and they did get away from the Run game only had eight runs about that eight runs in the entire first half it's not Duck football Curtis Wilson All State bus cruising around Vegas andjoy himself this week your All State good hands play this is the quickest rewind ever I think yeah it's the first time we've had to do this we don't have any high school games any footage we can pull out from the state championship so it's that last drive that got Oregon back into this football game was not looking good they're able to force Washington to kick a field goal save that some time for B Knicks to lead him down gets the touchdown gets it to 20110 and now Nicks and the Ducks are back out there trying to cut into this lead some more zero panic in Nicks as you'd expect knows what the job is avoid the mistakes get the ball to The Playmakers and get the running game going and there is Jordan James off the left side that's their best run tonight they pick up 17 and there you go I mean that's what we expect to see and I think if they're going to get back into this game you're going to see that remember they lost the line of scrimmage on both sides and now they're coming out with Tempo here off the play fake looking downfield it's Franklin and Johnson pretty Bunch together along with three husky Defenders no flag pretty pretty clear the message from Dan Lanning we're going to we're going to get back in this game and we're going to do it our way nice run to get this drive started and before Washington can really get their Cates in the ground they take a shot over their head to test him noisiest back 12 championship game ever husky fans trying to make it tough on Nicks at this [Applause] moment slant Franklin hit immediately after the catch by ASA Turner and his back healthy and safety making a difference tonight yeah making a huge difference we've called a lot of Washington games and every time we do we talk with Chuck Mor the secondary coach one of the co- defensive coordinators and every time we ask him about the health of his safeties he always kind of oh not quite yet this is the first time we've had a chance to visit with him with his eyes lit up cuz he knew he'd have his guys back there experience communication just everything you need on the back end they have tonight it's making a big difference shades of Washington attack a lot of pre-nap sh in by the Ducks Nicks backpedals launches down field and trying to fight back to the football is TZ Johnson duck fans hoping for another Pi didn't get the call in Jackson I I think he predetermined where to go with the football because if he if he would have given this a chance right there if he throws that ball it's a first down and I I think he was so locked in on trying to take that shot that it backfires oh he's going all in here a fourth down play 0 for three in that first meeting this one Ducks into the field they need a full five yards to avoid giving penck great field position fourman Rush ball out caught by Franklin who runs a great route and gets just enough for the first down in front of Dixon are they motion out Bucky Irving they just want to create a one-on-one opportunity that motion right there will take the defender with him and then you get a chance to just match it up one-on-one can your best beat their best and he does what a gutsy call by Dan Lanning ball deflected at the line and incomplete railan T has been a problem off the edge got a hand on it he's been a problem all year for a lot of teams in a pack 12 doesn't have necessarily a ton of sacks but boy he is as fun as any Edge player to watch in the country 64 275 out of Phoenix has power kind of the with his defense very athletic for an edge player he showed it there too tight end look Huskies respond by getting a little bit bigger up front James is the back he's got it and he's hammered after about a yard and a half that was Big Al who got in there it's third and long now those linebacker collap so quick you know what Oregon's trying to do on these double teams they want to establish it up front secure the double team and then climb with one of those linemen up to the backers the problem is these linebackers AR aren't hesitating they aren't reading they're attacking downhill so it makes it very tough on that double team to to to get off and then decline fresh troops a wave of six new Huskies came out here to defend on this third and nine Knicks against the for Rush beautiful throw down field it's Jordan James in stride and the ducks in the Red Zone wow is this a great play here watch him show this look he goes out and then you'll see him go up completely catches this linebacker isolated one-on-one and the linebacker is Carson Bruner very good player in space but that's a heck of a Route 30 yd gain now James has it again spinning and moving the ball down inside the 10 Oregon building a momentum from the end of the first half you know Bucky Irving gets a lot of credit and he should but like most good back fields that like to run the football this combination of Bucky Irving and Jordan James is a lethal combo and they different styles Irving is you know he's about 190 195 lbs Jordan James much bigger you're a fan of his you watch to play in Nashville I watched him play since he was a freshman in high school and very talented player Nicks keeps it and a low throw that time Johnson was working in the slant I think Nicks saw his guy was covered you know he gets so excited to be able to make a play because he can get on the edge he's trying to get the ball right out here trying to bait the defense and he did he just has to wait just he just it's almost like he was off balance and he just couldn't quite get enough on it he would have just given himself one more breath he would have been able to make that throw and just put a little air under it out there and it's a touchdown another third down they need two empty Back Field Irving stacked off to the left behind some Big Fellas it's Johnson motioning across they get it to Irving and an effective play a lot of beef in front of him and the running back moves the ball to the five it's first and goal well that's tipping your hand and saying we don't care if you see it good stop it and and they didn't get enough beef out there to deal with the big tight end and the left tackle they put bril and tce out there but they just didn't have enough manpower to be able to deal with that se I thought they might use it as a disguise instead they said hey we're going to throw it out there they do and they pick up the first down I could they punch it in Ducks one for two in the Red Zone in the first half F to the end zone Ferguson who had a one-handed touchdown grab in the other corner of the end zone couldn't collect that Dom Hampton was in coverage well remember Hampton was the one who bit on the touchdown when Ferguson made that toe tap catch this time tight coverage Bill what do you think of that one both players are putting their hands on each other I've got nothing okay Bill's got to let him play mentality tonight we appreciate that and I think a lot of that what Bill sees is Hampton's playing the ball himself that's why they they let it go 13 Personnel three tight ends for the Ducks here on second goal Irving makes a cut so good at changing direction quickly in the hole but knocked down at the four and it's third and goal to patala again getting downhill that's the linebacker he haded to avoid along with brilin t Oregon struggles down here against Washington they get inside the 5 yd line and I don't know what it is first match up in Seattle this match up tonight they got the only touchdown they had was trickery when they tried to bait them make you think B Knicks was running and they threw it over top of him it's tough to run the ball against Washington inside the five they try to throw it Nicks gets pressure ducked underneath the pressure Dives down he's a couple yards short decision time for landing it's Fourth Down AOA did a good job of of containing B Knicks B Nicks off that hand off he wanted to get outside but he had nowhere to go they forced him back in where the defense could bring him down but here we go again with Oregon in a fourth down situation against Washington down at the two yd line very reminiscent of the first match up when they were 0 for three on fourth down against the Huskies Irving far to the left Nicks scrambles fires to the end zone low throw touchdown Terrence Ferguson for the second time tonight a fourth down touchdown and Here Come the Ducks like we said this offense can can definitely do what they need to do what watch right here just a really good job of B Knicks watch his eyes watch how he works left and then he comes back to the right he's about to go into scramble mode and right there look how quick that release was he saw Ferguson break away and he gets the ball out of his hands that's a Heisman typ moment there on fourth down in a championship game sure was this young B knck who play oron when he was 18 does does he make that play or or is that a veteran play that's a veteran play that's vision downfield and seeing Ferguson break away there at the last second and the fourth down Troubles of game one not a factor on that drive they convert fourth and five and fourth and two for the touchdown three-point ball game in Vegas well this is the first meeting one the three failed fourth down attempts by the Ducks down there inside the 10 Y Line and again Nicks rolling out holds the ball a long time and throws it into serious traffic it was a mistake on the route early on in that play yeah now tonight yeah tonight it's been a different story here's this play look how quick he gets rid of this like a short stop soon as Ferguson breaks free instead of taking that all the way around to the right the way he did in the first match up he sees Ferguson work back to the inside and a quick decision and release for the touchdown and it was at Fourth and five in the Ducks end of the field early in the drive was crucial got to believe Nicks is responsible in both cases for selecting the right play absolutely you know he's involved Holly well guys I caught up with Dan Lanning he had pulled B Nick aside before they took the field and I said what did you tell your quarterback in that moment he said keep playing your game he admitted that Washington had some really good answers in the first half but Dan Lanning told me we have some answers of our own and I think we just saw them on that drive but defensively they've got to take the elite wide receiving cor out of the this game and Landing said the number one thing is stopping the run we're not putting Washington behind the chains and we've got to get them off schedu speaking of answering now it's time for pennic they they basically haven't run a real play since they had a huge lead at the end of the half there remember it's it's 20 to three right after they went down and picked the field goal and now it feels very different it's just always amazing this sport especially in college football the offense scores a touchdowns there's Dylan Johnson who was injured last week he actually heard it against Oregon state was limping around last week and now limping again tonight such a big part of it but it's amazing Oregon scores a couple on offense and it ignites the defense who''s been dominated at the line of scrimmage tonight CF can contain Dylan Johnson in the second half he follows a block around the right side and the patience the vision the balance all of it nice run out to the 43 cppo pulls around fanu the left side pulling around good job by the right side to open that up but I'll tell you Dylan Johnson is showing some toughness right now this kid is not near 100% and give that offensive line a lot of credit I just said remember they dominated the first half up front Oregon makes the play on the first play and then that counter opens up and he hits it downhill in a hurry you said he hasn't been healthy really all season but the last three games 6.7 per carry and a bad leg on the edge MC Millan spins back into the middle Manning got him down after a gain of about five that's what Ryan crub wants he's going to work the inside with those counters inside Zone play make the Ducks linebackers and safeties aware of that and flip it outside quickly get that perimeter game going and then take your shots down field put it all in the safeties and linebackers and their eye discipline HX was out there operating early Nicks was a spectator Michael's been a spectator for the last about 30 minutes of real time watching Oregon cut the lead to three well protected and miscommunication McMillan kind of broke it off no one in the area and here comes an important third down now Steve Stevens the safety confuses pinck there started to come up and then he sinks back in coverage and all penx could do is he was getting some some pressure just throw that ball away from the defender Stevens who was in good placement sharp in the first half four for seven on third this to keep the Ducks from building momentum getting the football right back put a Dun here initially they're going to move him and a misfire coming off the line early was McMillan and that'll make this a trickier third down TI of the snap F start offense number 55 penalty third down if plac is getting loud brails for the center usually you see a guard kind of look over his shoulder to make sure we're right watch the center look back he's not real sure and then then the left tackle there fanu he ends up jumping so a Ducks part of this stadium is alive it feels like a little bit of Aon Stadium here in Vegas pressure on third down penck off his back foot over shoots and it's intercepted Kyrie Jackson on his knees the first takeaway tonight trying to find the dun but the pressure was the factor there they walk up pressure and then sink here but they still get pressure off to the right see that late Blitz pennx this is the first mistake he's made and the way that Oregon thought they could get him to to force the ball was just get around him they've not done a great job of that this time they do he forces that ball into coverage and the Ducks are able to take advantage of it with that big interception if you can take time away make a throw up his back foot the ball will sail it did that time as beautifully as he spins those Lefty throws that one was much too high Oregon with great starting field position trying to claim the lead right [Applause] here Jordan James trying to continue the hot hand sto by T how great is this last pack 12 championship game there's Kyrie Jackson is 17 Washington dominates the first half these two teams have been on a collision course since they walked off the field middle of October Oregon felt they outplayed him Washington beats him everything on the line Oregon fighting their way back Nicks flushed scanning and throw it right an interception thre it right to me pow don't know what he was looking at but each veteran Elite quarterback has made a mistake now well pal ran out of bounds pal ran out of bounds but got back in bounds Pal's right here he's working the flat plan Zone he to read in the eyes watch him go out of bounds here Bill and then he comes back gets reestablished there's no rule against the defense gotcha going out of bounds and coming back in as long as his feet are in bounds he's good to go and he makes that play good job of awareness there by pow getting back in bounds to make that pick and a bad throw Chris by Bo [Music] Knicks the pat 12 Championship on ABC is presented by Dr Pepper the one fans deserve ban to the field Bush push late great Mike Leech G missu so many great moments in this conference nine Champions but it's been a long time since the p 12ub has produced a national champion back to the PE Carol team in 2004 will there be a 12 Heisman winner from this conference well each Heisman contending quarterback has made a mistake in the last couple minutes missed opportunity for Oregon I think Bo Knicks he didn't see pal pal looks like he's off to play on the sideline and pal says hey man I'm not coming from off the sideline I'm in play I'm making his pick nicks's 38th and 39th touchdown passes of the Season tonight that just his third pick of the Season PX to McMillan short pick up Holly well guys B knck has changed his turnover margin in the course of his career that hasn't happened much this season watching him come over to the sideline and kind of put his helmet down firmly shaking his head dang it dang it he's so mad at himself right now but he's smiling to his teammate Franklin is sitting right next to him trying to keep his spirits up and explain what happened he's got to move past this quickly hasn't done many of those this year yeah and Holly and his defense like we show that replay I don't I don't even think he saw pal I think I think he thought he was out of the play on the sideline Johnson plows forward he's a couple yards Shor of the marker he talked to us last night about being a perfectionist his whole life but learning that you have to be willing to live with your mistakes you're not going to be perfect he wasn't that play but you don't get the feeling it's going to shake him for too long yeah I think that's the growth that he's enjoyed since he's been in Oregon he had a lot of pressure with his dad aturn and trying to be perfect and stepping right in his very first game see what Ryan grub dials up on this third and two it's going to be a free play Ducks came off the edge quickly and there's a pass interference call in the secondary as Manning just grabbed adun was there a flag of the line of scri sure looked like Oregon was off when the ball was snapped sure looked like it I don't see a marker interference Defense number eight y penalty I don't know thought he had a free play or he just trusted Odun in double coverage I think he did because you're right Brandon dless was off sides and he gets the one-on-one match up and you know what he throws his ball because of the back shoulder all the time so as Manning's running up field you always got to be ready for the back shoulder and he obviously grabs him to prevent him from making a catch but yeah he did have a free play but they didn't call it that counts as one of those contested catches that Washington dominated head toad the first time you talked about it second Pi they've been able to draw they've drawn a lot of them from opponents this season set up at the 36 Johnson lowers the shoulder picks up a solid four yards Bas got him down these guards pull it's like they're in a full Sprint pulling what hulo that time the Right Guard he he pulled around it was like he was in a sprinter stance just blowing up anything in his way he's another guy that's been battling injuries very close to 100% cannot overstate the importance of this Washington team getting healthier here for game 13 no doubt Johnson again on second down so patient lets the block set up Oregon closed it down Jacobs made the tack it a it be third and two Chris watch these guys pull watch buo and rosengarten pull I mean it slowed down a bit but when when they pull they're building up some momentum behind him and it makes it nice for Dylan Johnson you get movement on that left side you pull around on that counter play from the right side and you get positive yards to put you in a very favorable third down and two yeah had the only 100yd game by a back the Ducks allowed all season long in the first meeting he's got 87 more tonight really get it again on this third down play couple tight ends off to the right side and they fake the reverse Johnson's got it and the turf monster got him he stumbled as Nico Reed was closing in on him or he would have had the first instead the loss will move it back wow be fourth down yeah you you fake to a Dun which is always going to catch the attention of the defense and now it's just one-on-one Dylan Johnson's been winning those one-on-one matchups all night that's going to be a first down but like you said the turf monster gets him Raiders play on grass they don't allow the others to play there they roll this field in and built it this week there are some scams we spotted out there I don't know if Dyan Johnson got one he got something McMillan in the back field r with Adams on fourth down penx is on the Move running out of time and dropped Nico Reed caught up the Ducks get a sack and a huge stop well he's looking outside I thought he'd be locked in on a dunesday this is this is where he wants to go with the football and when he rolls right here if he throws there that's a first down if he's ready to go and he is he just doesn't see him and I think he underestimates the speed that is able to catch up from behind and bring him down Nicks and the Ducks back to work 321 in the third quarter you have students on their feet here all season long Taco Bell carrying on the Taco Bell live Moss student section of the Year contest download the Taco Bell app to learn more close to 50/50 maybe a slight Edge for green over purple in this building tonight Oregon's defense huge stop on Fourth and two to give Nicks the football back showing all these great images of Pack 12 and pack 10 history when I say Washington husky first name for you that comes to mind I guess Don James the coach naal championship of [Music] 91 Johnson dragged down another strong first down play I like that one I'm going to go off to top of my head and the bull and CAU me okay another good one right yeah dynamic dynamic player I mean there were so many good players on that yeah Don James team Nicks on second and three pum fakes has some space pum fakes again takes off B Knicks rambling down the sidelines has blockers all the way down near the 10 yd line first huge play with his legs tonight well here's the key man coverage except for this safety in the middle of the field and he moves with B Knicks looking to his right look at the receiver to the left takes the corner with him once he gets outside of nobody nobody is there because they're all playing man coverage and following receivers all to the right so once he broke contain outside of tce who went Airborne he's able to pick up big yards for Oregon 44 of them remember how great a runner he's been in his career it's been deemphasized this season but he's still extremely capable takes off again the flag down Huskies looked like they little early the ball comes out it's scooped up by a lineman looked like Jackson poers Johnson scored a touchdown but was he down he looked down I think he's down and then the ball popped out but it is a free play Bo Knicks will be happy to see that ztf ends up moving he's down right there offside Defense number four that P will be declined result to the play as a touchdown they're going to bring this back that's close boy that's that's that angle shows it a lot closer they're calling it a touchdown I cannot believe that they wouldn't take a longer look at that they will what a play though Jackson poers Johnson he is connected with Nicks so beautifully they're so cerebral so smart so experienced and right here it's I don't know how you can't call him down clear before the ball's punched out yeah of course we have the watching frame by frame here but that right knee is down then the ball is punched out after that punch has it yeah we talked about this setting up with a boxing Motif here yeah was a roundhouse knock the ball loose keep in mind again Washington's offside so this is a free play so even if it was a funball Washington were to recover which they didn't it would have been it wouldn't have mattered would have been fre five yards B Nick is like oh you kidding me I've played clean all year as Holly reported and I I just lost the football the off sides will now be enforced yeah fivey penalty replay first down Mike McCabe's mic wasn't up the first but he did point to the ground the knee was clearly down I think Nicks even though he knew who Center had recovered for a touchdown couldn't believe right that he lost the ball yeah again he hasn't done it all year they they've been really having turned the football over but there's the offside ZT ztf there at the bottom so they'll take that here we go again kir you talked so much about these situations between these teams Oregon threatening inside the 10 they broke the spell earlier tonight by punching it in yeah but but think about how they've scored down here B Knicks has had to make incredible plays first show like faking as if he's going to run the quarterback sweep and throws it in the corner and then on the scramble both to Ferguson yeah Ferguson has a pair of touchdowns from two yards out he shifts around to the right side three receivers Bunch there James is the back and Jordan James makes a cut and scores an Oregon on top for the first time in this championship [Applause] [Applause] game no trouble punching it in that [Applause] time what a chob by the left side of that offensive line they got the angles pushed Washington around the poers came around and man again Jordan James down in this area can be difficult for a defense to handle once down 20 to3 21 on answer the touchdown late in the second quarter two touchdowns here in the third quarter and it goes back to this play by Bo Knicks he's trying to throw the football to his right bran tries loses contained and there's nobody because of that man coverage he picks up 44 yards Dan Landing I think's trying to help him go goo goo keep going kid keep going I know I don't know if that's one of landing's longest runs but it's the second longest in Nick's career and then look at the right side they pull around good job of bringing those tight ends around but really just nobody there because of the job that the left side the left tackle good push corly Harper also picked up a nice block and there's Jordan James right into your family room it's always so powerful these momentum changes the emotions of football Oregon forcing that feel goal attempt using their timeouts late in the second quarter and then suddenly that drive at the end of the half the two fourth down conversions of the first touchd D of this quarter and then Nicks doing it various ways and all of a sudden p and the Huskies are down four here late third a game of momentum back and forth and this is what you see from great leaders right this is El he that's his nickname the boss in Spanish and by the look at everybody listening I mean they are dialed in to their leader h you were there when he said it I guess right that's right I could hear everything he said he said stay composed don't let our highs be too high don't let the lows be too low he talked about Poise and composure and believing that they're going to win this game he said we will have success so penic an interception and then a Miss on fourth down the last two possessions very different feel right now he's pressured side steps it and this has to throw it over to the Oregon bench going down to one knee was one of the coaches Evan Williams had a long time to throw nobody open the key is did he get outside of The Tackle Box area there's nobody over there right away he looked over to the refere to say I got I got outside of it he was good job of coverage down field Oregon really not getting much pressure unless it's the coverage down field that dictates the pressure pressure again penck on the Move looking and checks it down to the tight end Deon C who makes a man miss one the three tight ends on this offense we can be effective you step out of bounds but it's a first down to the 38 uh nobody picked him up everybody's sinking down field and it's almost like a check down PX was looking inside to his receivers and trying to go down field Oregon took that away and he does a really good job there of just not panicking and recognizing the tight end out the flat all alone been a quiet evening so far for the Washington tight end that's the first catch for C well he's facing pressure almost every drop back now isn't he Yep this time a pretty clean pocket of dun around the corner got in front of Johnson and it's another first down there's the match up they want we saw it a lot in the first half he was shut out in the third quarter and they get the ball finally back to him there's not an Oregon defensive back that can stay with him consistently Kyrie Jackson because of his length at 63 number five has the best chance to match up with him but he's not on the field right now he's been dealing with some injuries himself and that's why we've seen Nico Reed out there for him and Nico Reed on one side and Dante Manning on the other as the outside corners ninth 100yd game this season for Odun caugh eight balls the first game has seven tonight penx downfield and the catches made by McMillan A Long route a long run and the Huskies are in the Red Zone well this is a tough ask for just Justin Jacobs when the safety Works to the middle and you get a Crosser guess who has to stay with it wow tough to do first to recognize it and then to try to stay with it he does a pretty decent job for his size but an accurate throw and a heck of a night for Jaylen McMillan coming back to this offense the final quarter in Pack 12 play the conference Championship the college football playoff may be the Heisman Trophy at stake in the final 15 minutes tonight in Vegas how have you been able to change the amount of pressure you're getting on Michael penx yeah we just keep changing changing the picture we got to change the picture of this quarterback he's really good and the times he's finding it we got to continue to pitch to him 20 has given you some good yards in the second half why did you go to him early often yeah he's a great back right Jordan does a good job we're going to continue to use both of our backs in this game thanks coach appreciate it landing's defense now trying to keep the Huskies from answering and reclaiming the lead Washington is in the red zone where they've been four previous times two for four scoring touchdowns andx hit as he throws the ball is out there there no whistle yet the Ducks fall on it and the signal is not given yet taim Johnson recovered it and they signal Oregon football they rule it a fumble an enormous takeaway we'll take another look yeah Brandon dless going up against Banu that's a heck of a match up on the left side it's just a matter of how quickly he's able to get in there this is a great match up here one pushes power closes and gets to that football Bill we're going to have to take a much closer look just to see if that ball is knocked away from his hand before it comes forward that was the toughest call I ever had as a referee he's got that ball that's a fumble I got a recover there's a great look right there bill you don't think the AR's coming for it right now before it's hit I mean again you say it's close I mean I think if that's why you make the big bucks Billy what do you got for us I would have ruled a fumble on the field you've got an argument there that the hand probably moved about two in forward not an argument what's the what are they calling that forget forget the field I mean I know was ruled on the field what is Brian Brown in the replay Booth fact 12 saying they're going to turn it over to a pass incompletion incomplete wow that is very very close and and the Ducks are harassing and hitting and hurrying panics and much better in this second half than they were early in this game when they he had all day to throw Bo you everything at stake imagine making this call was moving forward result of the play is an incomplete forward pass second down no there have been some interesting and very close calls in this game but I think a correct one there so take away the take away and it's second and 10 from the 20 the first time we've really seen Brandon Doris they didn't have to Blitz they just rushed for and he got home overpowered fanu who's a great player at that left side you know that clock inside Pen's head is ticking a little faster now Dylan Johnson downhill run you might take a little bit of a pressure valve release in that pass rush get the running game going huh absolutely outside stretch play but instead of bouncing this he's looking back to the inside where those blocks are sustained Oregon's defense running laterally trying to just kind of stretch that play out back from running into the boundary but he does a good job of feeling that just a kind of a feel as he pressed it and then got up field really interesting sequence here Kirk it's third down and three if they don't get to three yards is the Bor thiing go for it on Fourth Fen on the move he keeps it and he's a infrequent Runner but certainly athletic enough in crucial situations to move the sticks and he does he got hit by Evan Williams the leading tackler just known for his physicality he got hit I mean that was a big Collision P's got up adun ends up trying to block Evan Williams right here but he gets off the block and now he gets downhill himself bang right there he throws that right nine the throwing shoulder right into Williams we'll step aside with they duck down on the [Applause] field reminder of the backdrop rankings brought to you by AT&T Michigan trying to take care of business secure their playoff spot the winner of this game will be in the top four unless something crazy happens could Alabama possibly fall from eight into the top four if they beat Georgia that's the big question tomorrow Huskies a first down and goal from the eight yeah we' talked a lot about that hit but the important thing is you said it Michael pennick has a little dog in him himself what a what a great effort on that third down lowers the shoulder and gets what he needs defensive leader Jeff B was down he was helped off the field he had the rim knocked out of him by Dylan Johnson who's got the football Johnson he's delivering blows he's running over defenders gets down to the three and keep in mind he's playing with it a foot that's not at 100% another great collision with Jamal Hill a linebacker who's known for his ability to defend the Run he takes a major hit good job of holding on somehow and keeping Dylan Johnson out of the end zone those are two guys in the same W Class B good news back in the game but number seven looking a little bit possessed the moment keeper direct snap Johnson knocked down at the one that's a very effective goal line play they just take the quarterback out of it and let him pick his hole Yeah we saw him hand one off to Bernard on a on a Jet Sweep this time he gets behind him again look at that forearm he's throwing he's just throwing people he is he's lowering his shoulder that time he threw a forearm into the face mask of Evan Williams you know what's scary last time these teams played with 13 minutes to go in this game Oregon was up by four in the first meeting as well and here we are again penck back in shotgun formation Johnson shifts around to his left three receivers bunched over to that side Johnson again bulldozes in a flex from the Husky running game a number seven over over 100 yards a couple of touchdowns washing him back on top why not right you got a physical running back you got a one of the more dominant left tackles in the game go behind the big man and watch him open it up wow that's beautiful that is way you do it Dylan Johnson knows to just squeeze that tight behind him and easily gets into the end zone Brady gross the pat to make it a three-point game so the replay takes that fumble away correct call of incomplete pass and the Huskies Back on Top by three the Pack 12 Championship on ABC is presented by Dr Pepper the one fans deserve beautiful night in Vegas Good Year providing the aerial covers celebrating the challenge of road games everywhere are you ready for the road good year more driven Denise on Heisman watch highlighting the two quarterbacks in this game talked to Jaden Daniels of LSU yesterday he's very close to both these guys he's watching tonight he trains in the summer with penck out in La the same two quarterback coaches he'll be in New York figures both these guys will be too based on what we no doubt about it if Jaden is watching congratulations I know a lot of people really loved watching what he could do and the way he took that offense to a whole another level this year for LSU and only one name can be called that's right from tomorrow night Nicks got off to a shaky start then got it going with those three touchdown drives yeah he he got it going with his feet the threat of his feet makes a heck of a throw there on that fourth down play to Ferguson for a touchdown what a quick release for another touchdown down in the Red Zone man coverage Punk fake gets around it because it's manto man out pump picking 10 yds down field the defense will buy it there's no one there almost takes it all the way to the end zone so he has come alive in this second half for Oregon hard to believe they were down 20 to three and they were three and out three and out couldn't get anything going and now here they are a three-point game in the fourth quarter been a quiet night for Bucky Irving he came in really fresh figer be Ed and carried the ball a whole lot the last couple games he expected to have another big game against the Huskies has been Jordan James featured more than Irving so far yeah but but he's healthy and ready to go I love how they use both of these guys keep them fresh what a great jump cut he had there that probably should have been about a two- yd gain jump cut gets him past the linebacker picks up more yards that was his longest run tonight Kirk six yds Nicks now flips down to it Irving he's knock down right near the marker should be enough to move the sticks I asked you who you think of when you think of a Washington Husky you said Don James I got to be fair who do you think of when you think of an Oregon the Oregon D I got to say Markus marot okay the first name it's the first name that comes to mine mine is L Michael James okay there's a few fast guys to choose from yeah and the duck P Marcus the only Heisman winner from Oregon as of now first down nowhere to run that time Irving just turned right back into traffic and Lula NOOA got him there's their best run Defender you know there's another guy that's had to battle through some injuries what watch how he just squares up organ's been running the football gets off the block squares up he just swallows Bucky Irving that time he dents the line of scrimmage as defensive coaches say right swallowed up the ball carrier but don't unell his preparation very smart Savvy Defender studies his craft Nicks scream Irving got one man to the ground but from the ground The Tackle is made by Osio tough to do out in space that's what Oregon makes you do makees your linebackers and Def backs have to make plays where you got room to wiggle there that jump cut he loses actually loses balance but able to to get back onto his feet and make that tackle here we go brucial third and nine Franklin and Johnson the top two Targets tonight off to the right we got CTF right here who's an edge player probably going to bring him pressure comes good call by you and by this defensive staff Rail and tce brings him down for a loss Edge Huskies that time it's fourth down yeah kind of like what you see from a Micah Parsons that kind of player when he's an edge player he's not like Micah Parsons but it's the same kind of strategy where you put one of your best pass rushers here and then they bring this The Twist around and it's Trice to the left who comes around off that Blitz he occupies the offensive lineman and it frees it up for eight to come home and come up with that sack so ztf really a decoy right to allow his buddy to come around almost like a like a pit oh the snap is bounced it's scooped up by Ross James did well to avoid a disastrous special team's play the boot isn't bad all that adrenaline going through the body rolls out at the 18 yd line but the low snap almost a serious problem rescued and a 46y punt well let's look at this last drive by Washington with pinnick time to throw look at the accuracy very tough to ask to linebacker to be able to stay with him Justin Jacobs then a third down play shows the toughness doesn't always run but is able to there and then get back to that offensive line and Dylan Johnson running the football over a 100 yards on the night number seven has now ducks come after pennx who looks downfield for pul who comes back and makes a catch he beat Nico Reed out near the 45 well pul has had a quiet couple weeks but he gets isolated and he reminds people what he's capable of doing out and up against Reed the backup Corner never locates the football ball is thrown back what an effort that time by pul to make that catch had a bunch of drops in the Randy cor Bales had a ball taken right out of his hands at Washington state an interception so he's had couple weeks down of the dumps they really spent some time this week showing him his highlight wheel trying to get his Mojo his confidence back reminded that's you you're really good I like that I I I like that story that Ryan grub shared with us you know for for some of the guys he he he pulled out the video showed them hey guys we we're really good like we're an offense it's like record setting Pace let's not let's not get caught up at what we haven't been able to do in recent weeks look at this this is you he showed pul his highlights against the Ducks including a huge play that set up the eventual game-winning touchdown 118 receiving yards for p in that game that was his biggest play so far keeper again for penx gets the edge and runs for a first down so a couple of runs for first downs in this quarter by pennx playing quarterback anymore you just have to be able to have this threat they do it just enough the defense gets L to sleep they get so caught up and the throwing get so caught up in the in the running of Dylan Johnson the Ryan grub is just sprinkling in right now just enough of Michael penx in his legs you know this is where that experience of Michael penck comes into play you get a three-point lead seven minutes to go everything at stake manage the game let's be smart let's have the operation clean fenx over the middle it's tooke again he's got it to the 25 Number Two Is Back watch how close the transfer from Iowa makes a play on this football very very close to be able to read this he gets caught up for a second now he gets his head on a swibble where's the ball going to be thrown so close good job by pennx to getting it out on time made it tough for Justin Jacobs to get over there and they continue to hammer these deep crossers to these receivers because he's got time to throw time by the way is a factor now inside of 620 Huskies trying to make this a two-score game could be a serious dagger if they can find the end zone McMillan Scoops around the edge knocked out of Bounds at the 20 ducks defense on the ropes [Applause] [Music] here continuing to move Washington's going to be in no hurry here not at all that's again you go back to just the operation of it being smart boys of the quarterback they've been inside the red area five times they've come away with three touchdowns Oregon cannot afford to let them get to the end zone quick throw McMillan again so hard to guard skips out it's another first down they're inside the 15 yeah I if you and I and everybody watching the players on the field know what's at stake here at 5:35 and I think Washington and kayin D'Or they understand the opport that they have right now nice soft coverage take advantage of it gets across that first down marker no problem B down to the 14 yd line they'll snap it around the five minute Mark Johnson big crease Falls forward to the five yd line Huskies on the verge of delivering that dagger right here with brailsford to Center watch him work around open that hole up these linemen are getting a hat on a hat really good job watch this block right here by the center on that shade gets all the way around shows you the athletic ability just turns his body keeps the defender away from the hole puts his back side to the hole and he's running downhill for those eight or nine yards clock continues to tick away all Nicks can do is watch and hope that X can force a field goal attempt pennx launching to the end zone incomplete adun covered by Manning way over their head got to love that aggressive call he's left out there one-on-one that's just having confidence in your guy right ends up not throwing it accurately but you just love the aggressive nature second down and short why not take a shot right the clock now you go back to Dylan Johnson right take a shot try to get the touchdown and then hammer away with number seven power to the right of the formation right up the middle Johnson first and goal again you know it's coming that's why you take that shot on second down you come right back to it cu the confidence you have in that line double team up to the linebacker Dylan Johnson has been that Workhorse the Iron Man tonight think about he's playing with an injured foot this guy was limping all last week in the apple cup he's been limping tonight and yet he's got 23 carries for 117 yards averaging five yards a carry quano cppo braford buo and rosengarden good job and now Johnson set to take the direct snap here on first and goal pops it around the edge Bernard scored earlier in the other end of the field in a similar play he's tackled in the field to play the cppa run at the three this is played by Winston right here watch him keep this from getting outside of him you got to set the edge and even though he didn't make the tackle he actually does he ends up eventually getting in on The Tackle but him just sling to the sideline Force Bernard back inside this is that Championship type drive 10 plays 80 yards can they seal it here PX on the move has to throw it away Johnson was covered in the flats third and goal great discipline that time Steve Stevens the safety I think they were trying to sneak Dylan John johon out he's been hurting him running the football that time they slid him out into the flat but Oregon ready for it man here we go this is third and goal at the two yd line how bad do you want it conference title playoff bit penx lobs into the endone touchdown Clon Moore with a play of his life you never would expect him to be the guy to make the play that could put them in the college football playoffs wow unbelievable there's his parents Michael penick's got to be proud of this fake here and here's your guy that's going to go here and occupy the safety the tight end is here and goes out to the fat he looks like he's blocking the they're so worried about a doomsday they've got him bracketed nobody's left to pick up the tight end Moore who's out in the flat for the touchdown an unlikely hero for the final two yards of a marathon drive that's going to live forever in husky history 12 plays 82 yards almost 6 and A2 minutes Knicks and the Ducks down 10 with just 244 left [Applause] course Sunday in ESPN after all the excitement tomorrow the exclusive reveal of the cfp matchups in the Rose bow game and the All State Sugar Bowl plus all the other New Year's six matchups the final rankings if this holds in Washington leaning by 10 with 244 to go I would not bet against a Washington Michigan Collision in the Rose Bowl how happy Rose B be to that is the last we thought last few was the last pack 12 in Big 10 rosep but if you get that that would be a heck of a match up over in big favorites got to handle business in IND against the Hawkeyes keep in mind this about Oregon tonight three timeouts have two touchdowns tonight not in the year tonight in a minute 30 so can they score can they preserve some timeouts can they get the ball obviously down field and into the end zone it's a lot of good questions we're about to find out let's do it Nick pressured takes off again and slides down for a first down out near the 40 yeah that drive was especially painful because Washington used so much time almost half a quarter absolutely first down clock stops Freeman Rush Micks into coverage delivers over the middle and squeez it in the TR on Holden Holden still running down inside the five touchdown now he spot him out they do spot him out some hesitation but it looks like they're going to put the ball at the four a play I tried I'm saying these guys can score in a hurry and a blink of an eye what a well-designed play what an effort here I don't see it went out of bounds I do think he did oh that's a touchdown he's inbounds inbounds inbounds touchdown Oregon there was a lot of hesitation to looking around did he or didn't he where should the ball be and I think they've showed it on the screen was out of at the four yd line the prev play is under review Tran Holden the Alabama transfer so you got the former Auburn to former Alabama player 63 yd play especially after last week's hail Mar it was a little bit of a hail Mar I just said they could scor in a minute and a half they've done it twice tonight I don't know what about half a minute yeah I was going to say how about 30 seconds save their timeouts Chris I mean this is serious all right here's the play they're able to get downfield here and then bring the Crosser behind it look at the spacing I hate prevent defense right you want to see pressure linebacker almost gets over there after he done make that play where's the secondary right and he keep in mind he's 63 215 lbs great size and physicality tough strength with the football after he caught it to stiff arm the man maintain his balance and stay in bounds I I was expecting potentially a quick touchdown I thought they'd have to use a timeout or two first play they they get a first down clock stops second play they get a touchdown they got three timeouts when pennix is going to come out here they're going to quickly the runners continuing action with firm possession of the football inside the goal line pylot results in a touchdown they stayed in bounds it's a fancy way of saying stayed in bounds that's one of the few times that replay can change an out of bounds call into a touch into a touchdown thank goodness they can and the clock also is going to go back to about 213 I believe some of the clock ran off there they going to reset this clock I believe well the difference between not being a touchdown and then being first and goal is as you said they have more time to work with they can spend those timeouts on defense I don't know if they're talking about the clock or not but every second counts and right now they've not [Applause] adjusted and here they go now they're going to talk about the clock I must be listening to you yeah maybe so but I'm just saying every second a game like this game clock operator please restore the game clock to 214 here we go boys here we go all right thank you here we go and cuz you right there 214 we off by a second you said 213 good job there t hey if I can I'd give a shout out we've seen some excellent officiating this year from the pack 12 yep you know we hate to see the conference disappear but the officials are left out on an island that know where to go yeah they've done a great job tonight getting things right the second time Lewis knocks it through there's the throa Holden who just made the biggest play he's made all season by far I mean who would have thought that after watching the first game it could get any better I me we thought that was one of the best games of the year Oregon played well enough to win but the Huskies found a way to win give them credit and we want to see them get together one more time in Las Vegas win or take all looked like it's over B Knick is down by 10 not so fast my friend for Lee Corso two plays touchdown the Ducks are within three with 214 to go and all three timeouts left first game 48 days ago 3633 Washington 3431 now again that 3point margin Nicks if he gets the football back folks do not bet against him seven game-winning drives in his career that he's engineer between Auburn and Oregon had one earlier this year against Texas Tech great stuff tells you a lot about the build the makeup of a player they're defending for an onside kick but surprised by that I I would have thought you kick deep you expect conservative game plan you have three timeouts certainly lining up like he's going to onside kick it over here to the left it's the Hop it's a kangaroo hop and it's out of bounds so Washington will keep possession of Dunes they got a hand on it and they'll have it about the 45 yd line I'm kind of surprised Dan landing's an aggressive coach he's trying to get the ball back let's go back to the first matchup absolutely this was a failed fourth down attempt two playay touchdown drive pul and then adun but they left Nicks lots of time and this field goal would have forced overtime but he missed it wide Lewis by about a foot he said let's have round two in Vegas and lo and behold we've had one that's close to being that exciting that was one of the best scenes of the year Michael pennick talking to Holly in tears the emotions very evident that night Johnson what you'd love to do if you're a husky fan is hand the ball to number seven and just let him hammer away Oregon will spend a time out here and this is what it's going to come come down to Bo Knicks just wants to get his hands on the ball and and Dan Lanning and his defense they've been challenged all night to try to stand up to this offensive line and to Dylan Johnson and now you know it's coming can you hold up against it I mean these are just so closely matched these two teams so tough and resilient they've got quarterbacks that have proven themselves in the pressure moment Washington has had a chance frankly throughout the year Kirk to finish off teams kayur keeps talking about that and to allow a touchdown like that so quickly makes the job of closing this game out a lot more difficult yeah and and if you're Oregon you're going to just load up the line of scrimmage it's a great point about Washington they've had the battle the entire year B Knick is not distraught and like oh shucks that guy right now he is thinking he's he's visualizing getting the ball back he's thinking about that next opportunity when he gets his hands on the football if in fact he does so Landing is going all in on this series spending time outs he's got two left second and seven Johnson again makes a cut short gain into Oregon Territory Reed knocked him down another timeout here third four now going to come down to this and what it's going to come down to is not just you know the easy way to think of this is you're going to run the football and Oregon's going to have to stop the run their last time out that that's conventional wisdom this is different with Washington and Michael pennx and Ryan grub the offensive coordinator in play caller they have such confidence in these receivers such confidence in pennic everything's in play here it wouldn't shock me at all even though you would think they would run make organ use the last time out you're basically forfeiting you're going to have to punt b ball back to B Knick I think he's going to throw it I think he's going to try to find a matchup and even though it's a risk I think it's a calculated risk with pinnick you try to ice the game by going to adun or McMillan whoever's got the better match up 11 or one pennx one play five yards to get the first down and just about put this on ice so they're both on the right side over here 11 and one has time short throw catch made McMillan first down Washington two Elite receivers on one side of the field he was in front of Evan Williams and all Knicks can do is continue to visualize and hope but that should just about do it like I said this goes against that conventional wisdom what a matchup they created McMillan one of your best go-to guys in a slot against Evan Williams 33 who's a safety he doesn't cover well not to mention he gives the cushion so the formation stacking him creates that matchup and again do surpris me they got aggressive now you run the ball and you work the clock and get out of here with a win Johnson as a flag comes in he's bulldozing for a solid game that's in the area where you would expect a hold and that is the signal so that's a break for Oregon as the penalty will stop the clock I think that Blitz created that hold exactly what Washington did not want to have happen offense number 71 10yd penalty replay first down he pra this offensive line that's the left guard cppo and the blitz came from Bassa see this blitz right here and the hold will come right here cppo just because of that the speed of that Blitz and the timing of it grabs on there the Jersey kind of a gray area call but they call it radically changes the thinking here now will they run it yes Johnson straight ahead and Landing will spend his final timeout and it'll be second down these are two heavily penalized teams throughout the season didn't end up cring him too much but tonight really hasn't been huge penalty Factor Willow is down the Right Guard has been he missed last week's game he's been injured he's been playing a great game tonight just what you hate hopefully it's maybe a cramp there at the left calf or the right calf I should say yeah yeah Bo this offensive line talk about game ball or MVP it's easy to look at penck easy to look at Dylan Johnson adun McMillan all those guys played great if you could give if I were in the locker room I Were King the board I'd give that offensive line as a unit a game ball for the the way they have played tonight outstanding random football tonight 34 runs tonight 131 yards and if you followed Washington this year they are a team that loves to spread you out and they want to make you fear their passing game but as they've grown in the second half Dylan Johnson's gone to another level and it's run this run game's gone to a different level let's do the math here Kirk so this is a second and 17 play you you're running again Oregon can't stop the clock then you'd snap the third down play about a minute too 20 seconds to go or so yeah call a timeout with probably 20 seconds to go your you would call your own timeout punt it away they're going to have to punt it I just love the call on that third down most people would say Hey you know let's make them use their last timeout let's run the ball but it it's just you believe your guys and pinx McMillan and udun they are your guys put the ball in their hands I think it's a smart call in a paid off for them 27th carry for Johnson who makes a cut but they had a bigger cre of that it's closed down he's tackled at the 41 play clock rolling they'll snap it the next time are right around the one minute Mark great job by the receivers I'm with you I I was with as you projected I was like uhoh he may take this one to the house well first of all I thought they pitched it that's a little riskier than a handoff yeah yeah but the blocks down field I tell you PK's have all these receivers blocked their tails off that time PK had a nice block almost swung him loose C the tight end was over there too well last year they met Washington wins by three October in Seattle Washington wins by three the margin is three this team knows how to win close games they believe in their ability to come up big in crunch time and kayin dor talked about that being the personality of this team they don't always make it easy and it hasn't been dominant down the stretch but they've always found a way in large part because number nine finds a way yeah I I think it's their comfort zone I I I think it's a veteran team you brought up something we were to break about how many six-year players they have on this roster I mean these guys have been around a long time they've been through some lean years the 4 and eight year at the end of the Jimmy Lake here 13 guys cirk in their sixth year at udub 13 guys in their fifth year at UD even count the better in transfers inam like pck yeah and and I guess my point is sometimes when you're a team that's been challenged through the bad and you get through it and you stay how how rare is that you get through it you go through a coaching change you come into a new system there's some portal guys that come in like a Michael pennx and you develop a serious chemistry and a love for each other and so when you do get challenged you get those onore games you believe in each other you find a way to win it's not by accident when you do it that many times one more play to bleed the clock down and then you would expect punt it Johnson makes a cut forget about Johnson first down slides down and the Washington Huskies are going to win the final Pack 12 championship and punch a ticket in the college football playoff and Dylan Johnson factored in three touchdowns tonight two running one throwing what a fitting ending how awesome is this man just take this in husky fans doubted by many all year underdogs seems like on a weekly basis the only people that believed in Washington were kayin theore these players these coaches and their fans and now they're going to be the Pack 12 Champions and on their way to the playoff team of experienced veteran resilient survivors headed to the playoff Michael panck headed to New York along with his counterpart quarterback tonight these are not just two great quarterbacks there's B Knicks he'll have a bow game if he chooses to play it but had to watch From the Bench this game finished the way it started Washington churning away controlling the football let's go to Holly for penck Co coach and you guys are all hugging out here your offensive line just came over and told you we love you Michael from all the ups and downs you've gone through how does this compare right now this moment that you've worked for man this is the best moment man you know to be able to win this win this game man you know big time you know last uh Pack 12 Championship you know and uh man we just beyond blessed you know to to be in this position you know obviously to get this win you know obviously DJ put in a lot of work man today you know uh finishing it off right there at yeah you know but man we just so thankful there was a point in this second half Oregon had scored 21 straight points how did you guys start to gain some momentum back and some belief that you could win this yeah just stand with a one andone mindset you know just continue to believe that you know we have what it takes you know and that's all we need man we have what it takes and we just had to go out there and execute and that's what we're able to do to uh at the end of the game it is tough to wind the clock out like that you guys are just trying to make first downs and you give the ball to Dylan Johnson who's out here they limping tired exhausted why does this team believe in him so much man just his work ethic man he's he's the same guy each and every day man and he he gives anything anything for this team you know and uh man we just appreciate him for uh for trusting in us and coming here this year you know he's definitely been a big impact on on all our wins this year Dylan you are exhausted right now you're limping this was hard out here for you tonight how do you describe the heart you have to bring a championship home for the huskys man I'll do whatever it takes for the team man um just blessed to be out here to have this opportunity with these guys man at the beginning of the year this was our goal was to win the Pack 12 championship and that was our first step and St to that and I'm just blessed to be out here a lot of people didn't believe in you tonight A lot of people thought this was Oregon tonight why wasn't it man we we were the most physical team man and we came out here with a one one and0 mindset and we came out with the w this seems like a special special Brotherhood we have felt it all year why Michael man know just just the love and and the the amount of time and work that we pour into each other you know each and every day you know all offseason all the hard hard times we were going through those workouts you know always being there for each other lifing each other up throughout the whole journey you know it it got us strong and our love for each other you know is is unmatched man and you know that that's what helps us uh win and be able to stay together each and every day Michael I'm not going to put you on the spot but Dylan I'll ask you is this a Heisman moment for your quarterback man absolutely absolutely man they need to go on give you my boy the hasard man we waiting on it at the house thank you guys thank y'all benck never wants to talk about the Heisman he's been focused on team [Music] goals monck coming across here and he's he's going to join Panic this will be a a nice display of mutual respect and admiration two guys have played a lot of college football see in New York maybe and there's kayin D'Or also saying hello and wishing him all the best and let's go back to Holly with Kell Bo coach the the physicality of your team tonight the line of scrimmage you're a day short this week how did your team find that within themselves yeah I'm just so proud of we knew that that's what it was going to take tonight and uh you know we've just gotten better and better in that way um I thought just the key was us executing um and uh DJ just running hard so proud of both sides of the ball doing a good job of the line scrimmage after the last scoring Drive the offensive line came over to the sideline and they were in tears sobbing how much did they give you tonight they gave me everything um they do it for each other the Brotherhood is so strong here um it's all they talked about before the game half time you know just want to showcase what uh what we built and you know how how hard they play for each other it's so hard to go undefeated so hard that things that rise up and get in your way how did you keep the focus and the momentum for tonight with everything that was at stake yeah it's it's just about um you know it's about how you how you set it up from the beginning and uh it was all about just us one day at a time one play at a time when it comes to a game and uh just focus on the present you know not getting too far ahead of ourselves and coach last but not least Michael pennx just continues to make these plays and do the right things how have you seen this young man just strive and Thrive this season I I've said it all along you know the last two years uh I think his life and just what he's gone through has set him up for you know the resiliency that he has when we're in these moments where it gets hard and it gets tough and you got to step up and and you know that you can get through it if you just worry about what you can control what does it mean to win the final Pack 12 Championship with the conference as it is now yeah it means a lot you know and for us to do it how we did it against a great football team um hats off the board and they're a phenomenal football team we knew it' take everything we had but we're we uh we couldn't be happier man I'm just uh so proud of these guys and excited about what's to come all right coach how about we go get your trophy let's go get it they've earned that trophy seven wins in this conference by one score or less two three-o wins over Oregon here's the third down conversion that ice the game they were six for six on third down of the second half goes wide been doing it all night cut back get behind those polling linemen it's always designed to be a stretch play I love that he shows that maturity and experience and getting out the plays designed to go outside but he has such great vision and great feel to cut that back that's where he got most of his yards yeah it's a really tough position to play on Saturdays and Sundays and the pain that he dealt with he didn't have a painfree day this entire season man he didn't have a day in his life this season that didn't involve treatment and therapy that feels good this guy what is he 24 and two in Washington pretty good pretty darn good especially Ryan grub congratulations to him as the offensive coordinator and play caller boys he had a great year working with Michael penck put together a game plan every week and there's bonick the agony of defeat right there when they went down 10 they were in deep trouble but they had life after that lightning quick touchdown they just couldn't get the Huskies off the field it was a line of scrimmage battle won by Washington emphatically duck thought they won that part of the game the first time even though they didn't win the scoreboard it was clearcut tonight kind of surreal you know just looking at at Washington going up there on the stage it's like this is this is a swansong you know I mean at one moment you're celebrating you're happy it's great Washington they're undefeated they're packed 12 Champs they're going to the playoff on the other hand you're kind of I'm looking at the monitor like this is the end you know it's the end of an era we you and I both love the pack we used to be the pack 10 when we were growing up Pack 12 now it it's really uh kind of mixed emotions it it's it's it's uh tough to see this we're excited about the future them joining both these teams along with USC and UCLA joining the Big 10 others going to the big 12 um but yeah this is a surreal night it we'll never forget this one we will not if it has to go out it goes out in style because this as you said is the first top five match up in this conference in 47 years it really was a dream rematch here tonight and both the Ducks and the Huskies lived up to their part and be 13 and0 13 and0 in this conference as deep as it was this year impressive Hol row will preside over the Pack 12 championship game Trophy presentation brought to you by Dr out to your offensive line this is the best I have seen this offensive line play tonight they were in tears at the end of the game after that scoring Drive what has this team meant and this offensive line meant to you guys particularly tonight man this team mean the world man we put in a lot of hard work Blood Sweat and Tears each and every day to get to this moment and then my offensive line they do a heck of a job each and every day you know coach he leading away for those guys you know and just making sure that everybody's prepared each and every day you know allowing me to have a clean po rocket to be able to get the ball to my weapons you know it's just a blessing to be able to have and I I thank them each and every day for it I'm going have to take them out somewhere uh sometime soon the the wide receivers get a shout out Roma dun Rome where are you get over here Rome I wanted to give you a shout out Rome is from Las Vegas from Las Vegas huge night tonight what did it mean to be performing in front of 60 of your friends and family oh it's a blessing um you know what it's such a great support system you know from my mom my my pops and all my aunts and uncles my cousins you know my friends and family that come here to support me in this team and you know that's that's that's just the half of it I got a whole village you know supporting me husky Nation supporting me this team everybody so we're blessed well congratulations to all of you and last question Michael this is a championship moment but how do you think this team can move forward so it's not the only Championship moment for you this year man we have such a mature team you know we we understand this is this is a big accomplishment for us and we're super excited but we know we going to have more work to do and we going to be ready for whenever that time comes and uh man we just going to continue to enjoy this moment you know we just so blessed man and I got to say man they tried to write us off but we ain't right back we ain't right back and now to present the championship trophy the Pack 12 commissioner George cleos Will present the Pack 12 championship trophy to coach kayin dor congratulations coach thank you well they played purple rain in Seattle when they knocked off the Ducks now it's the purple and white confetti the last confetti fall in this conference Washington went the Pack 12 championship game for the third time they won it 16 went on to the cfp that's the last time this conference has put a team in the playoff that drought's going to end and that's a different team in a different time this Washington team is dangerous because the Michael panics and this offense and the way they can score the defense steps up at the right time gu what Michael pennix did tonight Jaylen McMillan had a big night a lot of the CR deep cross sech go dun where they would kick on those linebackers and covers there's McMillan on that same round a lot of times getting opportunities and give again Ryan grub a lot of credit designed a great scheme you said the tight end there when he had one touchdown all year long he had one catch all year long he was in September right time right place for the touchdown to secure it so Washington Cannot drop from this spot I I I think that right there a Michigan wins it's going to be a two3 game in Pasadena yeah I mean again I I'm a rose bow guy I I I'm a traditionalist I know you are too big 10 I don't know if it'll stay that way who knows if Georgia win or Michigan win but if they do and Georgia ends up W Michigan's 2 and Washington's 3 you get Michigan and Washington out in Pasadena which would be incredible uh heck of a matchup but you know this is what makes tomorrow exciting you think you know the answers and then there's upsets someone's going to get upset tomorrow you just don't know who it's going to be there a lot of teams in play we we'll see it's going to be a fun day yeah watching it again reminder almost a 10-point underdog here so no for gone conclusions on Championship weekend which uh got up to a bang and it is tough to say goodbye to this conference we left with one really powerful Everlasting memory from the Pack 12 among the so many memories over the last few decades watching this conference been a lot of fun been a great year for this conference and what a fitting championship game that goes down to the last few minutes one piece of the the playoff puzzle is now set stand by for Saturday wonderful job by our crew tonight and all season long our pleasure and
