Foodie Surprise: DIY Gummy Sweets

[Music] this week on things i found in a drawer i'd forgotten about it is foodie surprise mini collectible mini collection takeouts yes all the text is also in french for your learning purposes so season one apparently did they ever make a season two i've got no idea i got this in poundland a few months ago do they still have them i don't know but i've definitely got one in my hand right now so the idea seems to be you can make sort of little sushi things out of gummy sweets so presumably there'll be some mixing together with water and stuff in a minute make your own treats says creepy creepy sentient donut surprise characters collect them all galaxy all let's do yes talking in anime in french i blame telescope anyway foodie fun for everyone diy yeah we get the idea so we've got sachets we've got um molds i suppose by the looks of it and a cartoon that'll be fun and also a shovel to dig our own graves afterwards sounds good oh hang on excessive consumption may produce laxative effects hooray right definitely up for this now so how does what happen push to open what why is he got well dude it says there we are is it on the other side now oh i see push and rip and it doesn't work properly great well done everyone right gummy sack the molds of doom and quite a lot of stuff in here actually and some things you can make your own gummy key ring what not quite understanding that right it's frosty everybody i should not exist all i feel is pain oh frosty you're such a one um we'll eat your brain later apparently so you can pour it in that needs i don't really understand what that is perhaps the instructions will tell we've got our giant pipette thing we've got a banana mold we've got a measuring thing we've got that and more molds marvelous that's not coincidental is it hmm right i better open this up just because i'm intrigued by sachets as i believe we all are in life here we are we've got brown we've got the same we've got red and we've got yellow i presume they're all similar with different colors let's have a look at the instruction and find out right uh oh hang on brochure time food carts they're weird why would you want a load of ice cream pizza or sushi on a cart literally wheels on meals yeah um then we've got some more of that we've got uh well that seems to be the same thing okay and then we've got this the takeouts we've got one 902 hyphen 16. one of my favorite and most catchy of names tremendous right let's see what we've got to do then number one waffle bowls filled so and wash hands before making do they mean clean water or in pig excrement then i've got access to both so you know maybe i'll wash hands and [ __ ] once and then wash hands clean afterwards don't know wish they'd be more specific oh and that kind of looks like water yeah yeah okay i'll wash them with soap and water use clean room temperature water not the dirty water out of the toilet and clean mixing tools between steps which steps like on the stairs these are very very loose instructions right now one waffle balls let's sit for 10 minutes oh wow this is really easy we just got to get some water pour it in mix it up stick it in the mold wait for 10 minutes scoreberries sorry strawberry scoops not scorberry stroops which is some sort of waffle presumably uh just rub them into a bowl oh there's nothing on the back oh well i'm gonna go get some water then okay i have got water and i've put this poundland merry christmas gel clings thing out in order to protect the sofa because i don't know what else i'm gonna use it for frankly and here is the waffle mold put that there we apparently according to the instructions pour in both i repeat both sachets of brown stir it and then pour it into the mold and put the top back on the mold that makes sense we've got to find the top of the mold here it is right so that looks like you're filling it up to like the second mark on it seems to be what they're applying for oh no no wait nope nope look at the wrong bit phil fill up to just the first mark on there oh not much water so that is the very bottom one the five mil is that yeah i think so they haven't marked on specifically can you see it there right that is probably too much that's much closer to 10 mil that is a little bit too much a little bit too much got to get it exactly right if not it won't be a taste sensation there we are that is five milliliters of finest water or as we call it in the trade maximum weight right oh god that's gone everywhere brilliant wonderful great start um well that's it then great it smells really chocolatey so that's something right on there you go i shall put my small shovel in now for small shoveling purposes yep that's that's going everywhere as well brilliant gotta pull the other one in as yeah there we are something's happening something unholy oh god all of a sudden it is turned turned into a gloop right we apparently need the other sachet in who am i to disagree here we go oh i haven't got the hole big enough so that's gonna take five hours to come out hang on there we are in you go oh it's still taking forever to come out of course it is right that's on that's in and now we just spin this around i suppose it's already turned into a weird glob it's not gonna pour out is it oh god that's taken very quickly this time i'm gonna have to physically shuffle it in that's why they give you a shovel i suppose right that seems to be pretty much done into the waffle thing but it doesn't want to come out ah there we are it's getting there it's now got the consistency of some sort of industrial adhesive so that's great is it gummy up already uh there we are put a bit more in can't have too much excrement looking nonsense can you unless you've got any at all which is frankly far too much right there it is that'll do spread it out a bit this is very old isn't it and wait for it didn't there we are that is too much and will need to be snipped around the outside now we have to leave that for apparently ten minutes yeah okay well while that's going on i'm going to clean my shovel and we can get working on the next one i'll probably need to clean this as well actually right the strawberry bit so i did the banana bits off camera oh god that's turned quickly as well isn't it that had twice as much water in them more sort of a watery gummy consistency i suppose smell very strongly of that fake banana flavor as well this is smelling very strongly that fake strawberry flavor as one can imagine and already this has produced um a glop for the ages frankly so this one has got to be molded by hand into two blobs i can handle that it is a lie that i just told to people on camera right here we go half and half oh god oh it doesn't mold it do it's all sticking to my hands oh this is gonna very loosely be round because it's not keeping shape really i use the consistency they said um right i think that's just going to have to go as a blob comes this one this is not going to be as round and nice looking as i had assumed perhaps it would be um it's gonna get less sticky as time goes on i don't know i don't think it is it's just gonna set in that shape really isn't it great well that's useful uh well i'm gonna open the waffle a bit i think the waffle has had about 10 minutes now we've got about another five going on the banana stuff right i'm gonna go wash my hands bring the banana stuff in and then we can assemble this incredible delight right i have returned here are the yellow ones which were much much easier mainly because they just poured straight in really right let's get our waffle on or possibly not depending how this is gone [Music] has this worked i really don't know oh but maybe that needs a little bit longer said let's sit for 10 minutes uh it's been longer than 10 minutes that that doesn't look good that doesn't look good at all um i followed it exactly i put five mils in put in both the sachets pulled it out i don't what is going on here but this one seems to have worked perfectly these ones have just gone weird um well i'll tell you what can we actually open this up and no we we really can't um oh dear um did i put this top on upside down no no that is correct that is correct well brilliant um do you know i might should i put them in the fridge do you think that might help yeah i'm gonna go and put these in the fridge and then we shall reconvene in about a further 10 minutes so the good news is putting in the fridge really helped the bad news is it didn't help enough so we should be looking at something uh less black and white but shaped like that there we are you've got your nice chocolate waffle bowl you've got a banana your two wafers on the top your strawberry ice cream two scoops and this is what we have ended up with gonna be honest i'm not seeing much of a resemblance oh god it's fallen over um yeah great i mean the banana mostly worked although the stuff didn't mix properly i don't understand what has gone wrong because i followed the instructions to a tea as far as i can tell i mean feel free to abuse me in the comments if i haven't done anything wrong when you will either way but um were hang on ah this did go out of dates two months ago that shouldn't make that much of a bloody difference should it surely not do they have that much of a precise shelf life maybe no no i did yeah oh perhaps perhaps they've i left too much of the powder in the pack it knows only a little bit it wouldn't make that much bloody difference well now i've got to eat the piercing thing right i'm going to take i'm going to bite half of it i'm going to eat this half with the segmented wafer it smells it's melted hairspray so individually they have a really strong chocolate strawberry and banana vibes put them all together yeah got yourself some hairspray lovely right here we go oh god the texture what is this oh oh well the flavors are coming through not necessarily in a good way don't taste a chocolatey bit there's a strawberry bit and there's the banana bit oh do you know isn't that unpleasant if they'd actually held together and formed gummy sweets like this mostly did the yellow um it had been all right but they didn't and it wasn't well know what to say to that other than time to put the chain on the key ring and then keep all my most important keys on frosty the terrified corpse of the glass with some ice cream i don't bloody know good grief well if you do happen to stumble across these and make them yourself better luck than i had and perhaps if you do it in day it works a lot better is that uh no these are all the sushi style ones there aren't there actually i'm not sure what that is and that's some sort of pizza so maybe not i don't know all i know is that was a bloody fail but on the plus side i've now got a small pink shovel so it's not all bad also what was the pipette for it wasn't in the instructions quick heads up before we go as i know there are a lot of you out there into your retro games and the game boys stuff the second run of super jetpack dx cartridges is reaching the end of its pre-order so and i mean really close to the end i'm quite late to the day on this so if you're interested go and visit the site now it's a really really fun game based on the old zx spectrum game from many many moons ago basically you fly around you shoot the aliens you pick up bits of your spaceship you fuel your spaceship and then bugger off to another level and do it all again and it is super good fun it's playable on game boy color as you can see here also a playable on the original game boy because it's one of those dx cartridges which can be played on either and you can actually also plan game boy advance and stuff can you basically if it plays game boy games it will play this comes the pretty cartridge as you would expect and if you pay a bit extra you can even get a nice game boy style box and instructions and all
