I can't believe kangaroo day beat me to the punch hey what's happening guys today we're gonna take a look at the contents of this box which is the FN IRS I am I'm gonna try a tablet oscilloscope you get a USB charger five volts 2 amp that's not bad prose Oh probe accessory pack let's see what we got here oh yeah P 1p 6100 these are the standard pros you get with all of your low-end china scopes they're just fine USB cable micro USB to USB a and the oscilloscope take a look there hundred megahertz one Giga sample per second that would be impressive but we already know it's not true two channels one mega input impedance 800 by 480 rise time 3 nano second memory death 240 kilobits sensitivity 50 millivolts not bad time base 50 seconds to 10 nanoseconds trigger single normal Auto coupling ac/dc test vultures on 1x is 40 volts that's good to know okay six thousand milliamp hour battery standby time for four hours interesting charge is 5 volt 2 & 3 M 4 M alright well I'm going to charge it and then we'll come back and have a look well here she is charged it up for up to hours to get a full charge and that green over light came on which I assume means full charge so you can see up here on the top we have our to probe points BNC connectors we have a calibration 1 kilohertz we have our USB charging and we have a power button so turn it on you can see just how quickly it comes to life that was less than 4 seconds now it's a touchscreen so if you touch the waveform you can move it up down left right as you can see it's not very nice same with your trigger point this is two channels I have channel to shut off for our demonstration purpose here but turn it on you just click channel to button channel to on and they can see channel 1 and channel 2 so it works quite simply the screen is nice and bright can't tell how bright it is for you guys let's see if I can maybe make this a little better for you but it looks good very reflective so I'm gonna attach a probe the channel 1 and we'll connect up the calibration input I've already calibrated my probes let's get the auto set button and there you go no worries automatically measures the frequency at 1 kilohertz our RMS is 1 point 7 volts peak-to-peak 3 point 4 4 and our cycle is 1 millisecond so far so good now one of the things kangaroo Dave complained about in his review was a difficulty of getting to the trigger settings they're not that difficult you just press the little t4 trigger and there you have auto single normal rising falling channel 1 or channel 2 also he complained that the triggers always set to 50% if you come over to menu system setting you can turn that on or off at your leisure now over here you notice we have run stock you can also just I thought did it there it's right here there's our run stop you can see I turn to red now we have our time cursor measurements we click that they're on and that's those green lines there so we can simply move them around and there you can see our time 980 microseconds or 1.0 2 kilohertz same with our voltage cursors simply drag them to where you want for instance we just want a positive voltage there you have it one point seven two volts or if we want our peak to peak 3.46 very very simple to use same with the measurements clip the measurement button you have your channel two measurements channel one measurements simply turn them on or off by touching them and they appear down here the scope seems to update rather quickly which is nice but as you're going to see it is not a hundred megahertz scope so what I have set up here are some crystal oscillators we have one megahertz 5.8 eight twenty eight point two two and a hundred megahertz and we will connect them all up some one hard to get everything in the screen here but I will do my best so let's start with one megahertz and yeah this wire is of course going to act as an antenna so we are going to see some jitter and our square waves won't be perfectly square especially when we get to the higher frequencies so we'll click on there one megahertz and I'm just going to hit the auto set button and there you can see we have our one megahertz signal an RMS of 3.7 volts basically now if we zoom in here you can see there is a lot of ringing that is not a fault of the oscilloscope that is simply the crystal oscillator and the imperfect setup I have for it alright next we're going to go to five point eight eight megahertz and again imma hit the auto set and you can see we are 5.0 sick yeah we're in there a little bit but we got a lot of I wanna interference here from all that so I make that better yeah that's not too bad but again you can see the movement there now we're going to move up to twenty eight point two to four megahertz again I'll hit the auto set button you can see we have a nice signal there twenty eight point two megahertz but again it's definitely not a square wave and that is as far as I wouldn't recommend going with this scope it's about thirty megahertz beyond that you're gonna see it's just gonna lose its mind so let's uh this is how you adjust your time base clicking on the left side of the screen shortens the time bit or lengthens the time base has 50 seconds clicking on the right side of the screen shortens the time base that's ten nanoseconds which is our quickest time base and we'll move our little probe over here to the hundred megahertz and as you can see it doesn't know what to do with it if I hit Auto set on you want to hit Auto set let's uh hit control now that's a couple this AC and let's bring our trigger down into here and you can see it just it can't deal with a hundred megahertz signal so it's definitely not a hundred megahertz scope about a thirty megahertz scope but do you need a hundred megahertz probably not I mean if you need a hundred megahertz scope then by all means buy yourself one hundred megahertz scope but if you're looking to get into something really simple on a budget electronics this is great let's go back to a five point eight eight megahertz here you can see we get a decent signal I mean that is definitely usable signal ignore the ringing again that is not the oscilloscope in fact let's look at a different signal I'm going to disconnect our probes here this is uh just an Arduino let's it's running in I squared C OLED screen so I'm going to connect up to it and we should be able to probe the clock line now it doesn't have the decoding function but we should be able to see the clock line do everything in here and you know that hit Auto set there we go you can see the clock line and if I switch to normal triggering there you go it triggers on it just fine now another thing let's pause it and we can zoom in you can see we can move about two screens worth it ain't great but it ain't bad definitely not complaining about this no problem at all now I am NOT gonna do a teardown on this there's no reason--watch Kangaroo Dave's review he doesn't excellent teardown he explains that the ADC is used on the front end are not 100 or 1 Giga her 1 Giga sample per second ABCs I just showed you it's not really 100 megahertz scope it's about a 30 megahertz scope dual channel like I said you know looks good and it even has a nice little f15 so not parable not for the price they're running anywhere from about a hundred and twenty bucks on Aliexpress to the most I've seen them for is 170 on Amazon definitely not worth 170 if you can pick this up in the hundred and twenty one hundred and fifty dollar range yeah absolutely go for it quick look at the menu here you can see we have our system setting picture view wave form view and I have there's a square wave I had captured you can see that will go back and back and also a wave form that I have captured so nice functions I think this to be an excellent beginners oscilloscope depending on the speed you need this might be my new recommendation for a beginners all-purpose oscilloscope it is a really nice size we're looking at 180 millimeters which is a little over seven inches by 115 millimeters which is about four and three-quarter inches by 45 millimeters which is about an inch and 3/4 it's got a nice little stand in the back I don't see a problem with this as a nice entry-level scope in the under $150 range now this company did send it to me so I would like to thank them for sending it out free of charge for our consideration but they didn't ask me to say good or about it they said just tell us what you think that's what I think I think it is not a hundred megahertz scope it is not one Giga sample per second what it is is a really nice beginner scope at around thirty megahertz so I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did please give me a thumbs up feel free to comment share and don't forget to subscribe and please guys check out the teespring store buy a poster buy a sticker buy a t-shirt that's it I'm out peace I want to thank you all for watching and spending time with me today the community like this is something that we can all be very proud of so again thank you very much for all your support of learn electronics please feel free to check out the patreon page dollar month is all I ask and really helps keep the channel alive we also have an Amazon shop where you can buy most of the items that you see on here and there's a link to it down below
