flying with our 7 month old baby | baby's first flight 👶🏽

all right today's the day today's the day we leave germany [Music] so stressful this is lucas's first time on an airplane third time on an airplane hello hey guys welcome back to another vlog so today is our final full day here in germany and steven made it a point that i needed to film today because it's something that we're always going to want to look back on so we're getting ready to actually leave right now my friend nicole invited us to have like a little sushi lunch at her house and also so that penelope can go play with her dogs her dogs are like best friends with penelope so that would be really nice for her to get out and so that we're not like stuck in here all day so that's what we're gonna do we're about to leave and i'm so excited i haven't had sushi in so long and this little man just woke up had his bottle hence the like wetness of his bib but yeah so we're excited and it's just crazy to think that this is our last full day here um the weather has also been really really nice the last couple of days oh bless let me clean you up real quick let's clean you up oh my goodness oh my goodness okay so yeah we went for a really nice long walk i think yesterday was it yesterday you keep saying our last full day it's our just our last day yeah we're literally waking up again to put food in our face and go straight to the airport we're leaving here at 8 o'clock in the morning we're not doing anything tomorrow so today is just our last day just in general yeah it's the last day yeah so i'm excited i'm really glad that we're gonna be able to spend it with friends before we go man but yeah so we're just gonna wait on her and uh then head out [Music] [Music] that makes no sense the beautiful pregnant nicole thank you i needed that [Music] all right today's the day today's the day we leave germany we have all the family we got lucas penelope somewhere and we're just waiting to get picked up to check in and then leave for our flight soon this boy has been so cranky this morning though yeah we're off to a good start so cranky oh there it goes time to rock okay there just the reality of traveling with the seven month old he turned seven months today happy seven months baby in case you guys were wondering how much luggage we have that's lucas's bassinet all of our bags and then i think his car seats over there i have my diaper bag and it's a beautiful morning on base [Applause] so we finally made it stephen is on his way to go get us some breakfast because we're starving but the process itself oh my gosh took forever two tips one always bring a pen everywhere you go because you're gonna need it and two always have like 30 copies of your orders thankfully there was a printer upstairs because steven had already given his last copy of orders they needed a copy of his orders here so we had to stop checking in we couldn't check in without him and then he had to go get a copy luckily they had a printer like i said upstairs but the process took really long in the beginning just because we didn't have a pen we had to sign these like forms right when we walked into um the building and they were like nope we don't provide any pen so you guys need to find a pen somehow so we're literally digging in my luggage trying to find a pen and i know i had one so luckily i packed one so yeah i haven't had any water no food i'm starving he's gonna go get his dunkin hopefully you guys can hear me over this mask but so stressful thank you and then there's a donut in here for you too oh my gosh you guys are the sweetest thank you for my donut cheers did you see the cool flags that were up here yeah i went up when i had to go print the orders upstairs that's so cool this is a memorable day for many reasons but the biggest one is this is lucas's first time on an airplane first time on and his first time going to the united states of america yeah and your first time going to america your first time and you turned seven months old today what a big day for you it's such a big day please don't be grumpy oh yeah so this morning he's already been having some fits but i think that's because we just put him straight on the ground because i was trying to pack the rest of our things that we were that we had left out so that we could use this morning like face wash and stuff like that and he was not happy at all so thank goodness that we have the stroller because that's the only thing that's really calmed him down aside from us holding him but he's big chilling right now he's big chilling with his papa and i purposely picked this little tracksuit for him to go on the flight oh you know what you know would be so cute you know what else i packed because i'm super extra i packed these little milestone cards which one is the seven month here you hopefully you want to hold yourself in mind hold it there you go [Music] there you go can you see it yeah a little bit oh here you go there you go i'm gonna kind of backtrack a little bit on this video so that paper that we signed what was it initially saying screening okay just asking for your like generic like information and then just going to association okay so i don't know if you guys heard what stephen said but like what i was talking about earlier when we were looking for a pen and scrambling for a pen so as a copic screening asks like basic information and then they took our temperature needed our signature stuff like that so they didn't provide any pins or anything like that but then we checked in we already checked our bags um and now we're waiting and just this like before we basically go in through security yeah it's weird because it's not like a normal civilian airport where like civilian airports you go through security and then you get to the lounge where like the shops are and stuff but here because it's military they basically you've already gone through security to get onto base so you're allowed to just basically walk into this airport freely you can go get coffee and stuff and then you don't go through security until you're like walking into the airplane like security is right before oh that's kind of like german yeah it's like frankfurt airport okay okay in america no so we're gonna wait here for like what two hours until uh only like another hour 11 11 is when we're gonna head up there my head so what time 11 um what i want you to do though is find a bathroom go take him and change him and go buy water time to go change the baby's diaper do mom duties mama's gonna go find the bathroom and she's gonna go changing all right let's [Music] go [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Applause] oh my gosh did you want my kid did you want my camera oh no okay let me try it let me try and sell papa oh no he wants my camera so stephen has to hold the camera because you know this man wants to grab everything i have so we made it through security and we made it through like customs well yeah it's a german passport controller basically making sure we weren't here illegally yeah so that one really smooth security is actually really relaxed because we're already on the military base and stuff so i told them about the formula they didn't even check they were just like yeah you're fine and then um that was pretty much it like we put our electronics like our laptop like typically like you would in a bin separately and then that was it no nobody checked our bags or anything so that was pretty easy process especially with the two that we have here so quick little update before we and then we have how much longer i don't know they'll probably start boarding 20 30 minutes max it's 12 30. so i think by one o'clock we should board for sure i'm gonna try and time stamp this video because we were supposed to the scheduled departure was like 155 or 150 something like that so he's been doing good he's just so like active and like wants to literally grab everything in my hands he's been trying to take my mask off like five times already so the only reason i wish he could walk is because then he could at least like yeah entertain himself everything that i have [Music] everything [Music] look you get a good nap you've been up since freaking seven this morning and it's 11 p.m he's like don't mess with me mom ladies and gentlemen welcome to baltimore maryland the current time observed here in baltimore is 1704 as we taxi and please remain seated with your seatbelt securely fastened all right so we made it to the baltimore airport steven went to go get our rental car and we're just waiting here because we have so much luggage that um to get to the rental car they take a shuttle and the guy was like i think it's easier to just have you go talking about steven to go get the rental car instead of having to like load all of our luggage and then unload it and then reload it so now we're just here waiting i feel like a tourist in my own country right now because everything is so different okay this looks so terrible this is what pcsing with the family looks like our suv that we're supposed to get was supposed to be three row clearly we didn't get that [Music] you
