- Well, bonjour from Paris, France. You're going to accompany me on a trip to Africa today. So the airline I'm flying on today is one I've been looking forward to flying on for a very long time from here at Paris down to Senegal. And well, there she is. Air Senegal on a brand new Airbus A330-900neo. This is gonna be such a cool flight. Let's go and get on board. All right, first step today, I need to go and check my bag and drop it off, and figure out where we need to go. Hello. Good morning, bonjour. Check in, please. Thank you. Awesome, thank you very much. Have a good day. - You're welcome. Have a good flight. - Thank you. All right, au revoir, suitcase. See you in Senegal hopefully. Time to head through security. Bonjour. - Bonjour. - Hello, bonjour. All right, thank you. Merci. All right, through security. Very painless experience this morning. Now, it's time to head to the lounge. Merci. So then Air Senegal will use this lounge here at Paris. This is the Paul Maxence Lounge, which is quite small. It's like a sort of contract lounge here. There's not much in the way of food or anything like that here, which is a bit of a shame. It's quite busy. There's not many seats about this time of the morning because quite a few airlines, I think, use this lounge from Paris. But nevermind, not a lot longer now and we'll be getting down to the Air Senegal A330neo. It's gonna take me all the way to Dakar today on the West Coast of Africa. Proper looking forward to this. I've been wanting to fly on the A330neo for ages. And yeah, today, hopefully, fingers crossed, will be the day. All right, time to go and get on the plane. So there she is, Air Senegal's Airbus A330neo, one of the newest planes in Africa actually. She's just three years old. Isn't it a beauty? Love the A330neo. It's gonna take me on about a five hour flight today, I think down to Dakar from here in Paris. I'm really looking forward to it. It's gonna be a good flight. Bonjour. Merci. Merci, au revoir. All right, time to get on board Air Senegal's A330neo. I'm so looking forward to this. Business. - Step on. - Merci. Bonjour, ca va? - This side. - Merci, thank you. - I know you from YouTube, right? - Yes, I am, yes, how are you doing? - Yeah, so I saw your videos. - Oh, nice. - My name is for this flight. If you need anything, just let me know. There's two girls in the front, they're gonna take care of you. All the in business class, okay? - Wonderful. - A pleasure to meet you, okay? - Yeah, you too, thank you. - Thank you. - Thank you to Better Help for sponsoring this week's video. Now then, let's talk a little bit about your mental health and therapy. Now, I know there's always been a bit of a stigma attached to talking about therapy. Rachel brought me this t-shirt a few years ago because she felt that it summed up my mood absolutely perfectly. For years, she badgered me about trying to get some therapy and trying to get some help with what was going on in my head. And for years, I just kept putting it off. Eventually though, I came to realize that just like an airplane needs maintenance to keep it flying, sometimes we need a little bit of maintenance to keep us going too. Better Help is customized online therapy that works through video calls, phone calls, or even live chat, so you don't even have to see somebody face to face if you don't want to. You just go on the website and fill in a bit of a questionnaire so they can match you with the right therapist. Within 48 hours, they'll match you with a therapist and you can start booking your video calls, your phone calls, and even secure live chat when you can chat to them 24/7. It's all completely secure and confidential between you and your therapist. Now, I've been using my therapist to help me work through some of the negative thoughts and emotions that I've had, and trying to start replacing them with more positive ones. It's not easy and it's taken me a bit of a while to get my head around it, but I think I'm starting to get there. And I am starting to get a much more positive outlook on life as a result. More than two million people have already taken charge of their mental health with Better Help, so many so that they've even had to start recruiting additional therapists to keep up with the demand. And you can join them on the link on the screen now, BetterHelp.com/Noel or BetterHelp.com/Noel, and you'll get 10% off your first month of Better Help. Now then, I just wonder if I can get this T-shirt replaced. Do you think they do any that say just grumpy on them maybe? I don't know. All right then. So on board Air Senegal's Airbus A330neo in business class. This is pretty cool, isn't it? Look at this. It's in a nice sort of staggered one, two, one config with the windows kind of one at the window, one in the aisle all the way down. A few airlines are doing that now. It's pretty cool. And I've got one next to the window, which is awesome. And we've got, aside from this very comfortable seat, we've got some controls here for the seat, a little storage caddy there, remote control and everything over there. Bottle of water. Air Senegal blanket. The table sort of pops out like that. And of course, the in flight entertainment, which we'll go through in little while on today's flight. And then of course, the other in flight entertainment, that amazing view over the A330neo engine and wing. Fantastic. Really looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to a great flight down to Senegal. So they've just come around with a glass of orange juice, which was quite nice. And also with this lovely, lovely looking amenity kit. Can't wait to have a look through that later in the flight. Very, very nicely, smartly presented, Air Senegal. Still boarding. We should be getting on our way pretty soon. Departure time in about 20 minutes from now, hopefully. Fingers crossed. I'm looking forward to the flight. Our route took us south across France and Spain before crossing the Straits of Gibraltar into Morocco. From there, we flew down across Mauritania into Senegal with a flight time today of five hours and 33 minutes, cruising at 39 and 40,000 feet. All right, then. So airborne from Paris on board the Air Senegal A330neo. Very, very cool plane, this is. And I believe actually it's operated by the Maltese company, Hi Fly, who do like charter and wet leasing aircraft, but is in full Air Senegal colors. Obviously, it's fitted out in Air Senegal's cabin. For all intents and purposes, this is Air Senegal. It is their national airline, of course, albeit just the aircraft is owned by a Maltese company. But brilliant so far. Really enjoying the flight. That takeoff at Paris was really nice. We got a great view over the terminal buildings there and Paris. And now, we're just climbing out over France on a lovely summer day. Wifi code. There's wifi on board. Can't wait to try that out. All right, so the internet speed isn't too bad for onboard a flight. I suppose like two or three mg, which is for free, is not bad. And you get like 300 mg. So it's all right for checking emails and things. I wouldn't want to be doing any sort of YouTube viewing or anything like that on it 'cause you'll burn through that 300 mg very quickly, but just if you want to just stay in touch with text messages, and WhatsApps, and emails and things, it's fine and much appreciated. I wasn't expecting free wifi at all. So we got lunch service on today's flight. This is the starter. So many nibbles. That is absolutely delicious. Cream cheese and salmon in a wrap. Lovely. If this is a starter, I can't wait to see what we get for the main. I've just gone for a glass of apple juice with this one. Very nice indeed. And a cheese and ham cob, or half of one. All good. All right, the main course has arrived for lunch. It looks really delicious actually. We've got salmon and lemon on this plate and we've got cheese on this one here. Very nice indeed. Let's have a look, see what it's like. Nice cutlery. Look at that. Emblazoned with the Air Senegal logo. Let's try the salmon. Good indeed. Just look at the salt and pepper shakers as well. Aren't they cool? They're pretty cool, they are, aren't they? Very nice. The service actually on Air Senegal, I'm very impressed so far. I have to say, the cabin crew have been very good, very attentive as well so far on the flight, which is good. Always a bonus. Fantastic. I thought that that was the main course that I just had, but no, this is the main course. There's even more food. Incredible, incredible amount of food on this flight. It's lovely. Very good service. I've gone for the fish today, which looks like, I'm not sure what sort of fish it is, but it's sort of fish and rice and curried vegetables, I think. But yeah, curried vegetables or curried potatoes. Let's try this, if I can do it without spilling it down me. Mm. Cheesy fish at that. Very good, very good indeed. I'm just amazed by how much food we're getting on this flight. It's a four hour flight, a five hour flight or something. Unbelievable. All right, saying goodbye to Europe. There is Gibraltar down there, just down there. And the rock, of course, the famous rock. Not Dwayne the Rock Johnson, the Gibraltar rock. That would be pretty cool though if he was just standing there just to see everybody off on their way to Africa. Even more food has turned up. You got pudding there, a bit of cake or something. Let's give it a go. Oh, it's not cake, it's sort of soft with a pastry base. It tastes amazing. That's incredible. I don't know what it is, but it's incredible. Sort of a mousse and like a shortbread pastry. Very nice. Very good. So then, it's time to play a little game of what's in the amenity kit, the Air Senegal edition. Very, very nice looking amenity kit. I can't wait to see what's inside. Let's have a look. A bit of paper. Start off with, of course, the obligatory hand sanitizer. Mints, sugar free mints. Hand cream. Very nice, very useful to have in your bag. Blooming hell. A razor and shaving cream. A pair of socks, of course, emblazoned with the Air Senegal logo. There's a lot in here, isn't there? Blimey. A hairbrush. Not much use to me. Air Senegal pen. That's nice actually, a very nice pen. Toothbrush and toothpaste. Flipping hell, there's more. What else have we got? Tissues. Even more. Ear buds. And that's it. Very good. I think actually the socks go in with an eye mask as well. There's an eye mask in there as well. Very good, very nice amenity kit, this one actually, with Air Senegal. Very well stocked too. I like it very much - [Narrator] It's time for the Noel Philips Loo Review. - All right then, time for Air Senegal Loo Review, and yeah, it's the business class loo. There's one at the front and one at the back of the business class cabin. Flashy, isn't it? A bit flickery. Sorry about that. It's not very big. It's very small indeed, but it's clean. We have a dry floor, which is always a bonus. Toilet roll. Flush just there. Don't know what's going on here. It's all sort of paints peeling off here. Not brilliant, but it's clean. I'd say that we are more than halfway through the flight. Very good. I'm having a great flight today with Air Senegal on the A330neo. I'm really enjoying it. They just are going above and beyond with absolutely everything with the service and everything has just been amazing so far. And I can't wait actually to get down to Senegal 'cause if this is an indication of what it's gonna be like when we get into Senegal of how lovely everybody is, then I am really looking forward to it. So yeah, a couple of hours now and we're just sort of over Casablanca and Morocco. And in a couple of hours time, we'll be down on the ground in Senegal. - [Narrator] That was the Noel Philips Loo Review. - All right then, it's time to have a little look around the in flight entertainment system here on the Air Senegal A330 Neo. Let's have a look. I'll shut this so we can see it a bit better. Have a look at what movies we get. A few. How many have we got there? Eight, eight movies in total. And nothing sort of like Hollywood or anything like that. So yeah, not much of a movie choice on here. TV, we've got 27 TV shows. Let's have a look. And again, not a massive amount. So yeah. And now it's locked up. Look at the music. Yeah, a few bits of music if you're interested. And the kids zone, we can have a look. You get one thing for kids. Let's have a look at the flight map, that's a bit more interesting. There we go. Quite a nice flight map on the A330 neo. Yeah, not really a great selection of entertainment options on here anyway, so bring a good book if you come and fly on Air Senegal. It's a bit of a shame really. Everything else is so good. And the IFE sort of lets you down a little bit, but that said, it is only like a five hour flight, so generally, you've probably got something on your iPad that'll do for that length of time like I have at least, so yeah, that's my tip for you. Bring something to watch and a pair of headphones if you come and fly on them. I figured I'd try out the flatbed for a little bit on the Air Senegal A330, and it's quite nice. It's goes obviously fully flat, which is quite nice. Leg room is okay for me. My feet are just touching the end, but that's not too bad. My main concern is that foot compartment is a little bit tight, so if you sort of lay on one side, you're gonna end up digging your knees into bits of metal and stuff, which isn't necessarily the most comfortable, but that said, still, the longest flight these do, I think, is sort of like six, seven hours over to the States from Dakar, so yeah, it's not too bad all in all. You can certainly get a few hours sleep up here on the flat bed if you wanted to. And I'm gonna try and get a bit of a doze now for the next sort of hour or two until we arrive into Senegal. So I'll speak to you in a little while. All right, we started already descend down into Dakar in Senegal. I can't wait to get there. Sahara Desert just there outside the window. We'll be on the ground in about another half hour, I reckon. Merci, au revoir. - I hope you enjoyed your flight. - Thank you, it was lovely, thank you. Merci, au revoir. As always, a massive thank you to my Patrons for helping to make these videos possible. You can join them at the link on the screen now for access to my WhatsApp group, live Zoom calls with me, and much, much more. Merci, thank you. To Pullman Hotel. I have not booked though, so. Okay. - [Male Speaker] I'm calling someone who is working for the-- - [Noel] Ah, perfect, thank you. - [Male Speaker] And to be sure that you will get a good one. If you have finished, you can talk to him. - [Noel] Okay, awesome, thank you. - [Male Speaker] I'm gonna find you a good one. - [Noel] Thank you. - [Male Speaker] Around 20 to 25 dollars. - [Noel] Okay, perfect, thank you very much. I'll try this one. Thank you. That's broken. I'll try this one, yeah. There's no money. This one, yeah. Hey. Awesome. Yeah, so no money. Merci. All right, I'm making it through on my way to my hotel in downtown Dakar. Merci beaucoup, au revoir. Bonjour. Merci. Hello, I have a reservation. - Welcome to Pullman. - Thank you. - How was your flight? - Good, thank you, yes, very good. Thank you. - [Staff] Can I offer you some drink? - [Noel] Yes please. Thank you. - This is whisky and I think this is banana. - [Noel] If I need a taxi to the airports, you can arrange? - Of course, yes, sir. You're gonna leave at what time? - [Noel] Wednesday at maybe 8:00? Thank you very much. - How much you paying when you arrive? - [Noel] 30. - Okay, the back is 25 dollar. - [Noel] 25 on the way back? Okay. All right, thank you very much. - It's all in . - Ah, perfect, thank you very much. Thank you. Hey, hey, hey. All right, so I made it to my hotel here in downtown Dakar. And oh wow, look at that view out over the Atlantic Ocean there. That's not a bad view, is it? I've got a couple of days here now in Dakar in Senegal before I head off on my African adventure. It's gonna be really, really cool. I'm gonna be heading off to deepest Africa in the next few videos, so make sure that you hit that subscribe button so you don't miss 'em. And if you want to know where I end before anybody else, of course, if you sign up for my Patreon, Patron members get early access, a week early actually to all of my videos, but also, they get to find out where I'm going with a full schedule of where I'm off to. And of course, they're aware of where I've been as well with all that information and good stuff as well. So make sure you check that out as well. But for me, well, I had a really good flight on Air Senegal. They were really, really decent indeed actually. I proper enjoyed that flight down with them. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but actually, they were really, really good. And yeah, so far, based on the hour long journey it's taken me to get here from the airport, but I'm absolutely loving Senegal. It's a wonderful part of the world. Everyone I've met has been so lovely so far, and hopefully, fingers crossed, it's a good sign for the rest of this trip as we head across deep into Africa over the next couple of weeks. So anyway, I'm gonna go and get some rest. Thank you so much for watching. I hope you've enjoyed this video. Let me know, as always, down in those comments what you thought of the video, and of course, what you thought of Air Senegal as well. And in the meantime, well, I'm off to get some rest and I'll see you on the next one. Bye for now.
