- Hey guys, how you doin today? The tropical adventures are continuing. We're catching a little flight. - And heading to a very tropical place. - We're gonna be going to Hawaii. - If you guys have been following us for a while now, like, at the beginning of starting Flying the Nest, You would know why Hawaii is quite special to us, because Hawaii is the first country that we ever filmed vlogs. (playful techno music) Seven hours until Hawaii. Yeah! And if you've watched those videos, oh man. - To be honest, if you've watched those videos and you're still here today, I need to shake your hand because they were not good videos. - So that's why we thought, you know what, we need to go back. We need to see three islands this time and give you guys a way more advised on the best things to do and see when you go to the islands. (bustle of airport) - [Stephen] Hello! - [Airport Agent] Hey! (muffled intercom speaking) - See you in just under a couple weeks Australia. So, our dream from watching movies obviously is to fly Hawaiian Airlines to Hawaii, so that's who we decided to book. This is quite nice. It's actually a super quiet airport for some reason here at Brisbane. Really easy to get through security to the point that we were quite shocked like, oh, is there a second security we have to go through? We come to the Plaza Premium Lounge and this looks super nice. I like how they've done it with all the just the wood. And looks like there's some good food up there and bubs already found the buffet. So it's kinda nice to have like a little bit of buffet food but they also have an a la carte menu and you're able to order like pizzas, pastas. I gone for a bit of a pesto pasta which is pretty yum cause they're just gonna go make it fresh for you just out there. Just grab it rather than just grabbing some buffet food, which is perfect for Jess as well cause then she knows it's like, all fresh straight out of the kitchen. (calm acoustic music) (scanner beeps) - [Ticket Agent] Thank you. - [Stephen] Thank you so much. (scanner beeps) (airplane engine humming) - [Flight Attendant] Make a right. - [Stephen] Thank you. - [Jessica] Thank you. - [Flight Attendant] Yeah! - [Stephen] Oh, thank you so much. (calm acoustic music) Ooh! - Earplugs. Headphones. (chuckles) - [Stephen] They're pretty cool. See you in nine and a half hours time. - [Flight Attendant] We've just talked with air traffic controller and there is lightening to the north and northwest. It's a beautiful light show he indicates but unfortunately, because of that they're no longer working on a ramp area so we just have to wait here for just a few short moments until the blue light ♪ Plenty of things that mean nothing to me ♪ ♪ But if there's one thing ♪ ♪ I know to be ♪ ♪ Oh, I know whatchu mean to me ♪ ♪ I know whatchu mean to me ♪ ♪ You've got a story ♪ - So we're about three hours out and it's been rocky the whole way, lightening storms, but just woke up, opened up my blinds, and it was all worth it just to see that sunrise coming just above the clouds. ♪ You've got a story ♪ ♪ I wanna read ♪ ♪ You've got a meaning that matters to me ♪ - [Flight Attendant] Hello, ladies and gentlemen the pleasure of Hawaiian Airlines to welcome you to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Current local time is approximately 10:09 am on Monday. (airplane engine running) - Welcome to Hawaii, everybody. It's so good to be back. Alrighty. First flight officially all done. 10 hours went super quick. I felt like I slept for at least six of them but now we've just quickly rushed to the domestic cause we're actually not staying here yet. We're flying to a new island here in Hawaii. (scanner beep) - [Airport Ticket Agent] Got it, thank you. - [Stephen] Awesome, thank you. ♪ Ohhh, I know ♪ ♪ Whatchu mean to me ♪ ♪ Whatchu mean to me ♪ - [Stephen] Thank you. ♪ Whatchu mean to me ♪ - Welcome to Hawaii Island everybody or the Big Island. Thank you so much. - [Worker] You're welcome. Have you folks been here before? - Not on this island. So many times we've seen movies where people fly Hawaiian Airlines into Hawaii and they do have an option where you can get a lei and we had to do it. - [Stephen] Guys, best best 50 bucks we've ever spent. That just completed the dream of coming to Hawaii on holiday. So we just went and picked up our rental car and they ran out of just small cars which we usually book. - Got yourself a big boy car. (laughs) (playful music) - Feel like I'm back in a Canadian road trip with these, my feet don't even fit the... (laughs) I'm ready. (chuckles) - Okay, I definitely look like a hot mess. We just went on a 10 hour flight and then had a two hour layover, and then a one hour flight and now we are on the Big Island and we are both jet lagged, but we have to push through today. I just can't believe we have our leis and we're heading to our Airbnb and the goal is to stay up all day. - [Stephen] That's the goal. - That's how you get over jet lag. (car door shuts) - So we have like an hourish to kill before we can check into our Airbnb and we're just looking up for some food cause we're currently just trying to fight the jet lag. Literally, this little shack here inside a car park had a five out of five for food. We're just gonna have some lunch here. - I found 101 things to do on the Big Island. So we can now start planning our trip and also I got us a juice. - [Stephen] Oh yeah. - It's pineapple, apple, beet, ginger, and lots of aloha. - [Stephen] And lots of aloha. (chuckles) - Uh huh. We are in Hawaii. But I think today's goal is just to get over this jet lag. Oh, yum! Yes, it is time to get over this jet lag with some burgers and yeah, cause when we left Australia it was eight pm and it's now two pm on the same day. So we've kind of gone back in time. We're time traveling today. - [Stephen] We've already lived Monday. - And now we're just living it again. (chuckles) Yeah, we're just waiting for our Airbnb to be ready. So it's burger time, juice time, and planning time. - [Stephen] And um, carbs don't count when you time travel, right? Cause we already had our carbs yesterday. - Burger time. (car door slams) We've just arrived at our amazing Airbnb. We're gonna be staying here for the first two nights here in Hawaii. And it's basically like the studio apartment where someone is made the house into a bunch of studios and the view out here is amazing cause we've gone right up to the top of the mountain, overlooking the ocean. The sun is gonna set right over there as well. But come through. So we got like our bedroom over here. It's definitely like a beachy vibe. We got a living room. We have a massive TV. Look at this. (chuckles) It is so big. And then up through here is the kitchen. So they still organize it so you've got a full kitchen in the house. You got a bathroom just over here. And then you've got a massive balcony. This was a good find. - [Stephen] This was-- - Cause we booked this last minute. (door slides open) Wow, look at this Steve. This is where we have to have dinner. - [Stephen] Oh, definitely. Wow. This is so good. - We're in Hawaii! - Jess was just telling me that when we're traveling around the Big Island that each different place can almost have its own climate and just from Kona, which is the main town where we flew into to driving up 20 minutes up here it's already so much cooler and the guy that checked us in was saying that there's snow on the top of the island at the moment which is crazy. You don't think that with Hawaii. - So I think today's goal is going to be all about the beach. And we have heard that Hawaii has some amazing black sand beaches. It's so black! Look at that! We are about to go and swim with some manta rays. (underwater gurgling)
