[Music] do [Music] hello my stitchy friends i am christy i'm the crosshatch quilter today is saturday october 16th and it is flosstube lucky number 17. thank you for coming and visiting with me today in my sewing and stitching room welcome um i have some stitching to share with you today as always some new starts of course some whips some finishes some foley finishes some framed pieces back from the framer and plans to share with you today so i am really excited to be back it's been about six weeks since my last video um september was a whirlwind of busyness but all wonderful things and this last week i've had family in town i've had cousins visiting from missouri and i haven't seen them in over 20 years so it was so wonderful to spend some time with them this week so i have just been enjoying all of the get togethers at the very beginning of this video i inserted some photos of my camping trip with my friend lori and my friend annette and their families and my kiddos came the best part of the trip for my kiddos was going on side-by-side rides up in the mountains and so those pictures that you see are when we were up on the mountain it was a little bit smoky but the leaves were changing and it's just so pretty up there in wyoming that it was just you could just even though there was smoke in the air you could smell you could still smell all those amazing winter mountain smells so i really had a lot of fun up there with friends and family it was my birthday week when we were up there so i got spoiled rotten and i'll be showing some gifts today and happy meal from that and then i came home for about six days and got back in my car and drove to salt lake for a stitching girls week that was so so fun um lori holt in january invited a group of us girls to salt lake to shop stitch go to quilt shops just all sorts of fun activities we went to her home we went to shepherd's bush we went to the craft center fine citry we went to gardner village we went to quilt shops we went to antique shops and we stitched and giggled and ate food and had just an amazing time together and the way that she invited us to come was so cute she sent us all in january a homemade card which i looked for and i cannot find it i put it in a very safe spot and i can't find where that was but she mailed us all a calendar and invited us in september to spend time together so i thought that was so cute she sent us one of her prim calendars for the year 2021 so um i live here in utah as well but i'm about three and a half hours from salt lake so we all went and met some of us flew in some of us live here in utah and it was theresa kitten stitcher susie reno nicole with from nicole's needlework and lara from mod mozart on instagram but she's the second part of brenda and lara the serial starter and lori holt and myself and um we just had the most amazing time i'm very blessed to call those girls my friends and and all of you the group didn't have um we it seems like with girls sometimes there's always you know a little bit of competition or things like that that is not the case with the stitching community um i found that we've all just we're all just friends and support each other and that's how women should be right is just support each other so it was a great week um theresa made pierogies one night for us and i've inserted pictures of those at the beginning of the video they were so so good and i can't remember where they're from if they're dutch um but they are like a homemade pancake bread it's more like um it's more like a pocket of bread it's not like a pancake it's not sweet it's savory and they're filled with either cheese or sauerkraut and then they're fried in a saute pan they were so so good i think that my love language is homemade anything homemade food homemade goods and so that was such a treat um i think that that is all that um we did on our trip that i can think of to i know i'm gonna forget stuff on this video i have so much to share this time around so if i forget something i'll put in the show notes or talk about it next time but i wanted to show my birthday gifts that are stitching related and also the gifts that the friends interchanged on our girls stitching week so i've got quite a bit to show you on that first of all i'll start with my birthday gifts and i have quite a few so if you want to fast forward for this part feel free i got a lot of birthday cards in the mail and um cindy c stitches sent me this darling may basket from blackbird to science i am 100 gonna stitch out thank you so much cindy and then my friend penny she sent me this darling notebook it has a magnet on the back to put on your fridge and that just looks so much like gus doesn't it that totally made me smile when i opened that um and then up on my camping trip on we were up there actually on my birthday my friend annette um she made both me and laurie a bag and this is a labor of love this back and this is out of laurie's farm girl vintage 2 book and she put it in a crow and of course some cross stitch x's up there and then on the back the larger size x and then these appliqued birds that are from one of lori's applique sew alongs they're so cute i think originally they are a different color in her i can't remember which quilt it is out of but and then she put one on the inside these bags are have so much detail and so much work that's put into them and then of course she quilted it and she made us a cute little cassidy keychain and this is a tutorial that's on lori's um youtube channel but cassidy shows you how to make these her daughter so i just i love this bag thank you so much annette i feel very lucky that you made this for us i know how much work goes into these um she also gave me a gift certificate to one two three stitch and i'll show you here in a little bit what i bought with that and then she gave me some of her mom's prairie schooler santas which i love love love i i just barely started collecting these i don't have very many and so i was super excited to receive these and i will most definitely stitch them um and then my friend celeste she sent me a tomato little pincushion pillow and it's just got homespun in the back i believe that she bought this it is so cute and you know i'll be putting this in my sewing room with all my stitchy tomato goodness and then my friend olivia from pumpkin hollow quilts she she sent me a homemade kitty for my halloween bowl i love this so much she made it it is i'm not good at making things like this that are really small and um i just treasure this so thank you so much olivia and then she sent me a darling pair of scissors and then she sent me some fabric and yesterday i turned the fabric that she sent me into a project bag this is chestnut street by fig tree fabrics so she knows me well so i could not wait to get that sewn up into a project back and then my friend kim she mailed me some goodies but she also mailed me goodies to give away um as a giveaway but she mailed me some yummy homie jams apple butter and pear butter and then she made me and haley hats and a cow neck sweater or cowl neck shawl oh my goodness i i didn't even message her for a couple days after i got this because i was speechless when i opened it i couldn't even i don't know my husband walked in the door after i'd opened it and i was like i can't believe that somebody made me these things i just i treasure them so so much and i absolutely love them she knitted haley a cute a little hat with the pom-pom top and haley's been wearing this it is already cold here where i live and it has definitely been um sweater weather and then she knitted me this beautiful in my very favorite colors this cow and um kyle shaw i i cried when i opened this it is so beautiful absolutely love love love it and then she knitted me a hat a matching hat i love it so much so thank you so much kim she also sent a bunch of charts for me to give away that she had doubles of and how many times have we all done that right so these will be future giveaways um all joys for line she sent for you guys the bells on christmas day these are all from blackbird signs and then she sent um raven bewitched in friendship's way and sweet summer come again and then she sent a quilt pattern i will um give away on my quilting channel and show on there so thank you so much kim i'm gonna take this off because i have the heater on gus thinks that um this time of year is punishment and when we open up the back door in the morning for him to go outside it's been about 30 in the 30s um in the mornings and a couple times he's like well we had snow on the ground the other morning but he'll back up after we open the door and then look at us like are you kidding me and then he runs away so he doesn't think much of this cold weather and so we have the heater on and then he goes and lays um right in front of the heat vent underneath my kitchen sink and he'll just put his face in there and he he hates winter so much okay so i bought myself a birthday gift and um i love it so much this is from laurie who is laurie wilson on she has a flosstube channel that is called just lori wilson but her company name is thread milk and threadmilkdesign.com and i had seen her flosstube video where she showed these and they are handcrafted by a man that she that lives in her town and i immediately knew as soon as i saw them that i wanted to order them for my birthday they open up and you can put your stitching accessories in them so you can put needles in here and she shows a little teeny tiny miniature scissors that you can put in there i set this by my stitching spot i love it so much and then this tiny one opens up as well and you can put scissors in it her needles if you would like one of these she has them available on her website i absolutely love them and then she sent along with it some thread milk floss tags oh my goodness i absolutely love these and i'm going to be getting more i they're so well made they're really really thick but they are vinta they look like vintage um bottle caps i think that's what they are right love love love them thank you so much lori and she sent along her pattern for utah statehood splendor series and this is for the state of utah i love it thank you so much lori on our girls trip we all interchanged gifts and i got some amazing gifts i those girls are just when when when crafty talented women get together it is so fun because we all get homemade goodies susie reno made us all a bag and she quilted it and then made little labels that said stitchy weak and on the other side this is vintage i believe was a vintage tablecloth that had been hand stitched so she cut it up and put it on our bag and um she has some cute little accoutrements in the in there with cards and a homemade with our name on a little tag and you can put this as a bumper sticker on your car i think i'm gonna put it on my mug um my drink mug like nicole did i think that's a great idea on our trip susie had a mug just completely full of vinyl stickers and i thought that was so cool and then lara gave us this darling bag that is made from barry who is with stitch folk i've wanted one of barry's bags for so so long but they sell out just like that like you have to be you have to have the fastest internet or speed your fingers and myself i don't know i've never been able to get one of her bags i've always wanted to buy one of her sampler bags so lara ordered this one and it is so cute look at all this all the stitchy girls and then the front berry put all of our names on it i love the postage stamp fabric and then this just says stitchy friends are simply the best september 2021. so cute and then brenda sent along with lara these cute pin cushions that have they're on a little shaker box um lid i love these i've wanted one of these forever too you can order these on etsy and the company is um early american workshop but it is a tomato pin cushion is what it's called so if you just enter that in on etsy but they're so well made they're absolutely darling and then teresa diet us all linen that is 36 count salt lake and it is so pretty it's a beautiful gray color and then lori absolutely spoiled us rotten with all of her yummy um products and we were just we were just every single day she brought us a new treat i don't think i have all of them out to show you because i've dispersed some of them into my sewing stuff and i've already been using them but the first thing that she gave us was um some of her chunky thread i love this stuff i i this is my favorite um yarn to use and then she gave us crochet hooks and little yarn needles these little thread tags are thread what are they called they're awesome i use them when i do crochet if you have little leftovers and you don't want to throw it away i just wind them on this but they are floss flower thread bottoms you can get these on fat quarter shop and then um she gave us one of her clip charts that is so so cute i'm going to use this with my stitching to put my pattern on here and then she gave us a tomato needle minder i've been waiting and waiting waiting for these to come out i love them so much i may have bought a couple so that i have one in every room in my house some other fun things that she gave us i'm going to definitely be utilizing right away is she gave us a whole bunch of happy charms and i'm going to be putting them on project bags her new um project bag panel just came out and i bought one i'll show it to you in my haul but she just did a tutorial yesterday on her youtube channel to show you how to make them and i'm going to put these on each bag so that is going to be so so fun so she brought all of us a flower i'll show you what i did with my flower in a minute but she shows you on her youtube channel how to crochet a flower and then put a covered button in the middle of it to hold it onto your bag well she brought us covered button um project and we had so much fun crafting we thought we were just gonna do it for one day but we were so addicted to it that we did it two or three days and we just had so much fun covering buttons and so here's my little jar and this is a jar that my friend and that gave me but mine is not full yet but some of the buttons that i made so far that one has little x's on it this is all lori's fabric the little cross stitch with the needle heart or the heart and the cross stitch needle this is her new stitch fabric they're so cute we just they're like potato chips once you make one you want to make a hundred of them so i have ordered more buttons they're on their way um everybody has bought them out of amazon and so mine are on back order but as soon as they get here i want to join in on the sampler in a jar stitch along um that she showed on her last flosstube video and i'm so excited about that i'll definitely be making some sampler buttons so um i just wanted to show you my haul and then we'll get to stitching this is gonna be a long video i i do believe so the first day we went up to shepherd's bush and they were having their birthday week so they gave everyone um a cute little sheep and then when you do a purchase with them they always put these clay buttons on your bag so i bought a few things i wanted to get shepherd's bush patterns because um i saw these last year and i ever since then i knew that that's what i was going to get when i was at shepherd's bush so they had them in stock and i was so excited they're kits and they go in this tray that shepherds bush has made look at the holly on the side so i bought the pattern it comes with the fabric and thread and then the box to go with it and this is called merry little christmas and then i got the halloween one as well and it is called midnight garden stitching tray love this and i've already been using this tray just for my fall decor but it has a crow on the side and i love love love crows so that was what i got a shepherd's bush i got some linen and things like that as well and then my purchases for this um month i went crazy of course because it was my birthday month i did sign up for this in advance this is a club kit through country samplers and it is stacy nash faded gardens pink drum and it came with a base i cannot wait to get this started i am going to put this in my falls to definitely stitch smalls i say falls my smalls to be stitched this next year my fault smalls line up words are hard as stephanie says okay so i was so excited when i saw these get re-released and so i wanted to make sure i showed them to you because if i'm super excited about it i bet some of you will be as well and i have wanted this ever since carol the salt box stitcher showed it on her video it's been an out-of-print chart for a very long time and it is called pumpkin season by exemplars from the heart and they have re-released they have reprinted it i ordered mine off etsy but i know that several um shops have it i noticed the kitten stitcher has it on in her shop and then they reprinted the blessing from examplers there you go i love this chart i've it's i've wanted it forever and then carol just finished this so of course i had to get it and this is kind of a harder chart to find but i finally found a um i don't think it's out of print or anything i just it's for some reason harder to find and a mind and independent and free by a carriage house and i absolutely love that so i had to get those and then mark it has happened um or expo since my last video so i wanted to show you what i ordered i uh placed a pre-order with christine from hollis hands creates and some of my haul i've already started so i'll show you that in my starts but the things that i haven't started yet this isn't a market expo but i ordered this with it and this is stacy nash the rose cottage sampler when um christine sent my order she sent some floss cards love love love it i need to order floss cards i haven't done that yet but after seeing michelle mama love you loves you gv's video it's such an amazing ingenious idea and i need to order some so i'll get on that um i got jack-o-lantern sewing pocket i love this so much and then in the same bag i have the boo to you pin keep i absolutely love that so that is my purchases i'm all done i promise one more happy meal i got this week in the mail is from my cute friend kim she is a stay-at-home quilter on instagram and she sent me some floss cards look how cute it's a heifer um this is from i have to read so that i don't mess it up isabella johnstone john stone from needlework press sampler and this is in my to be stitched pile i love love love that sampler thank you so much i wanted to share with you a couple stitch longs are going to be happening in the month of november the first one is um with our beloved jacob with modern folk embroidery he is doing the black sampler november let me make sure that's what it's called so then i don't forget the name it's hashtag black sampler november and you don't have to stitch one of his charts although i love every single one of his charts um but he just welcomes all of us to i believe it's his birthday month as well but to start a black sampler and i've had this chart for a long long time ann grimshaw by the scarlet letter and with my gift certificate to one two three stitch i ordered the silks for it and theresa said to get a verison or i don't know if that's how you say it correctly it's a varus wall black and then i have a piece of um vintage pecan butter here i think it's actually not vintage just pecan butter by lakeside linens so i would like to get that started but we'll see i'm i've kind of i've kind of been making a plan for my stitching i'll tell you about that and my plans but you know how plans are they're made to be broken but we'll we'll see but i would love to um start that to celebrate jacob and then our friend betsy klager she is having a birthday in november and her and nikki noodle are um hosting a sal and the hashtag is called betsy is old and they are going to be starting little birds by blackbird designs this is a big chart betsy said on her video though that if you do not want if this is not your jam which it is mine but i don't know if i'll start it i'm trying to just be good but i love love love this um you can still use the hashtag to just help celebrate her birthday so if you'd like to join in on that so that we can give everyone some love and then in january our friend lara who is brenda and the serial starter and mod mozart on instagram she is turning a big 60 and she is having a sal hosted by penelope tucker and she had the great idea of doing a stitch along to celebrate laura and that is elizabeth isles and i'm going to put a picture of the sampler here i don't actually have my chart yet um as soon as it was announced it was sold out everywhere but i have heard there's more on order so there are lots of shops that will have it available kittenstitcher.com is sold out right now but i've put on there notify me when it comes back in stock you can get it from the scarlet letter the attic there's shops overseas that will carry it if you want more information going to penelope's instagram penelope tucker she has every detail that you could ever need posted on there she does a lot better job of explaining it than me but we're going to stitch elizabeth isles by the scarlet letter and it is on january 1st lara's birthday um the hashtag is lara's big birthday sal so that is going to be a fun stitch along i look forward to participating in and then of course also i want to do the sampler in a jar hosted by lori with the little buttons so i'm going to be joining in on that as well okay so let's get on to the stitching i'm going to clear all this off and i'll be back in just a second to show you everything i've been up to in salt lake during stitch week a few of us were working on a project that we're stitching together called our lasting friendship by blackbird designs and we're stitching this as a group with some of the girls that were at stitch week and others but they were working on there so i grabbed mine and got a tiny tiny start on mine it's hardly worth showing you know how starts go when you are stitching with friends there's a lot more stitching a lot more talking than stitching that goes on but i have this housed in my stitch bag the fabric is called stitch by laurie holt and here is the crocheted flower that i was talking about earlier that she gifted us with the covered button and now i need to make a whole bunch more of these because every bag needs one they're so cute i love love love it and then one of the little key charms so i'm anxious to get started working on that but i don't know if i'll get back to it for a few months there's a lot of fall and christmas stitching i want to do that are in my plans so then the last couple months i have been totally into making stitching mats for my project and i like them to coordinate with my bag or my project that i'm working on and some of them that i'm going to show you i've made and then some have been gifted to me but i'm totally all into having a matching stitching mat with my project and i just put it in my project bag when i'm not working on a particular project but a few people have asked me on instagram and flosstube what i do with a stitching mat what is its purpose and i just set it with my project it makes it look cute but i also like set my scissors on it so that they don't poke a hole in my couch um i put my needle minder on there and just you know have it next to me to set my needles on and sometimes i'll thread needles or set my floss if i'm working on a specific color and it's a fill in i'll just put it on there so they're just they're just cute they're just fun to help decorate your stitching spot but the first one that i wanted to show you is housing my houses of barry's chapel road turkey hollow farm by stacy nash and i just switched it into this bag this week this is a fall bag that is um the fabric is by sandy gervais who is brenda brenda gervais sister and that is an old fabric line but then i made um a year or two ago i made this mat i was actually teaching class at our local quilt shop but i grabbed it and finished i quilted it and put the binding on it and made it into a cute little fun stitching mat you put your scissors in here this could also be used as a table mat but i'm using it as a stitching mat so that they just are cute and they coordinate together and make it fun so i started this um with my last video and i'll show you where i was at last time but this is a stitch along that i joined yvette go on instagram and olivia with pumpkin hollow quilts and it is my favorite favorite stitch i'm working on right now i think um it's just so fun to stitch with friends but i've wanted to stitch this pattern for a very long time so here is where i'm at so far and i absolutely love this that house the salt box house is stitched with um whiskey by week style works and it is one of my very favorite colors then this sign is filled in with tiger's eye by weeks so i've got both my turkeys done except for this turkey um olivia and yvette um pointed out brought to my attention this last week that he's missing his tail feathers and yvette keeps joking that the farmer because he's holding a gun in the chart he shot the turkey's tail feathers off so we are going to add the tail feathers to match the picture there so there's just an error in the chart and then another thing that i'm joining them on is i'm going to instead of stitching the gun yvette charted us a little rake to stitch on um because we don't want our turkeys to get shot for thanksgiving they're pets and they're so cute so i i'm going to work towards a finish um on this one for the next couple weeks i want to get this done in time for um thanksgiving i absolutely love working on this with those girls so that is a whip and then i have another stitch along that i have been working on with yvette and i started this a few years ago and it was my unicorn chart and i started working on it when i wasn't quite used to 40 count linen yet so i just set it aside and i haven't worked on it for a couple years and there's a lot of over one stitching a lot um and so without further ado i'll show you the pattern it is anne rainer this is an out of print chart and um it is by threads through time and i've got my chart promised to somebody so i'm really sorry i know that a lot of people are after this chart i bought this on ebay and i just put it in my search engine and saved it so that ebay would notify me when it became available and it took a couple years but they finally notified me and this was my christmas present one year and it i paid handsomely for it but it was my christmas present and it's what i wanted so i didn't care so after all of that unicorning why haven't i worked on it well yvette told me i will i will stitch it with you um and we can tackle it over one together and so i'm like okay well she's the queen of planning and i told her oh i need you to plan this for me so that i can actually stick to it and you can follow you know you can make me follow through so i invited my friend lily to stitch with me as well because she has the chart and is working on it um and yvette has sectioned it off for one page a month so we started in september and i already had a big head start because i'd already started it but i finished my page one and now we're on to page two and i'm almost done with page two so here's my progress and i'm stitching this with all the called for dmc's and this is 40 count creme brulee by r reproductions so page one is up here i just finished putting in i think it goes down to like right here and so i finished that in september i just had a little bit to do i think i put in a couple berries and finished about this much of the letter so i had a healthy good start so then this is page two right here and i've got the tree done and the crown i just stitched the star the other day and now i'm working on the turkey and then page three is in the month of november and this is where we get into that dreaded over one stitching with the dam grass and the over one sheep so this is um going to be done by next year next august and that's going to help me keep on track and stitch it with me so and i think lily put hers in time out and they're not speaking to each other right now but i'm going to co-hers her to pull it back out and we will tackle it as a team teamwork so i've got that one housed in my bag that is um the fabric autumn love by laurie and look at the word snow wood they're so cute so then my stitching mats for this bag because this is autumn love fabric that has the yummy oranges in it and everything um i made a big stitching mat and a small stitching mouth for this and these are from her farm girl vintage book let me show you the book so it's this pumpkin right here and there's a six inch size and a 12 inch size so i made both sizes and then turned them into mats just quilted them and added binding so then here is my big one super super cute it's just so fun to have i don't know and now i want little bags too for all my threads so just fun to have you know matching accoutrements for your stitching okay i'm gonna put all this back so the chart doesn't get ruined okay so my next project i started when i was up camping with lori and annette and that is autumn in baltimore and this is by with thy needle and thread here's the chart i'm not going to finish my on a basket like this i'm going to copy brenda sampler stitcher and i'm going to make it into a drum so i've just gotten a little start on this but i'm hoping that after i get a couple of the whips that are close to being finished done then i can focus on this one i'd really like to get this finished this year but there's my start so far and i'm stitching this on 36 count alabaster by lakeside linens i believe and then i put my darling needle binder from lori on here that fat quarter shop sent is the quilty barn and then i've got it in a barn bag my barn bag is from debbie debbie's stitching on instagram she sells these oops crash she sells these on her instagram she just posts them when she has them available i don't know if she takes orders or not um but then because it's pumpkins are on the farm i have it in my farm bag and then i have it on a barn block and again this is from farm girl vintage book and right now fat quarter shop is doing a stitching stitch along for these um the stitch cross stitch pattern and they're doing a sew along with the um quilt pattern so it is so much fun i so i wanted to show you mine mine was gifted to me by my friend um cynthia who is dream quilt create on instagram and i love love love this so i i was so excited when i got the idea to pull it out and use it as a stitching mat because now i can look at it every day and it reminds me of her so that is another fun project i hope to i really want to get this finished but we'll see whenever i make a plan and tell you it seems like then i don't do it okay so this next one is i think my favorite stitching mat i love it so much so my friend sent me some um orphan blocks that she wasn't going to make into a quilt and she asked me if i wanted them and i said yes thank you so much and they're out of civil war fabrics and she sent me the most amazing box of quilty goodness i will show a lot of it in my next quilting video and i've had a lot of people ask me about quilting videos if i was going to make another one and i do i really plan on making um more i just haven't sewn that much this last year because i've had a hurtback and so the last oh i'd say two months i've been catching up on my sewing and all the quilt alongs that i have signed up for and i'm getting there so i will be making a quilting video here very soon and i'll show you the rest of my um happy meal from her and i also received some quilting happy meal from meg and from kim and i'll show those as well but she sent me these orphan blocks and i made them into a stitching mat these are all paper pieced using civil war fabrics i love it so much so i just um quilted it quilt in the ditch and then i put on a binding and the back fabric is blackbird designs so cute so then the bag that i have to go with it is also civil war fabrics from jordan so so fun i love it it just makes me happy it just adds to the fun of stitching so this is butternut house by stacy nash this was one of my market hauls from christine at hollis house creates and as soon as i got here i got here on a monday morning i immediately kitted it up i actually had already had it kitted up because i knew in advance what the threads were and then i text lori and i said oh what are you doing and she was up camping and she goes i'm starting butternut house and i was just sitting down and putting in my first exes in my fabric and so that just made my day so we started it together um of not in person but we started it together and this is my progress so far and i have my thread which is all dmc's on my floss drops from laura and brenda they say um hussy floozy and there's different ones on there she gave some of these to us when we were up at stitch week so fun so here's my progress this is a super fun stitch lori um pointed she's a she's ahead of me on this so she pointed out to me there's an error in this chart as well so i wanted to tell you about it in case you were stitching this you don't make a mistake so right here you can see that there is steps leading up to the house and then this door right here is in the blue gray color um it's charted for the same color as the windows actually the door is a green color so it's charted in the same color as the windows but in the picture it's a different color it's the same color as the the grass i believe um and then there's these steps which is the blue color that is the same color as the cement down here that the pumpkins are sitting on so you have to chart your own steps the steps aren't there it's just all grass there's no steps leading up to the house in the chart so if you want to make those two changes for it to look like the picture but i am stitching this on 36 count it's a creamy linen from lakeside linens it might be alabaster as well so i am hoping to get a finish on that one but there is a lot a lot a lot to fill in on that one so we will see my last new start i have been anticipating starting this and stitching it for a very long time it is why i worked diligently on finishing my ghoul tied welcome in my yuletide welcome that i showed in my last video and i knew that as soon as this was released that i wanted to start it and stitch it so last saturday um with lori and lara i got to start my unicorn dream chart and that is the gather inn by plum street samplers i love this so much and i love halloween but i love fall most of all so i just as much as i love my all my halloween stuff it's really fall for me where it's at and i am stitching this with all the called for threads except one change the black which is mascara i'm just using 993 npi silk but here are all my threads and i'm putting them on floss tags that laurie had gifted me that we had punched and put little tab protectors on while we were camping and so there are the yummy threads oh just those colors itself just made me happy so here is my start i am stitching this on um hog bristle by fox and rabbit and this is my very first time stitching on their linens and i absolutely love it this is 36 count one over two and here is my start so i'm working on doing all of it except for the fill-in so i'm gonna continue to outline the opening to the barn or in whatever that is with the pumpkins and stitch the horse and the lady with the carriage and just do everything and then when i'm all done then my plan is to do the fill-in around everything so i believe i've got page one and two almost complete i don't think that i'm going to put the date right here like on the chart i think i'm going to put probably another sunflower right here see the says 2020 right there i think i'm just going to leave that off and put another sunflower i love this so much so i plan on this is going to be my focus piece and i just absolutely i've loved every stitch and it's so fun to stitch with friends so i've got that one housed in my bag from annette because it's fall and then it's matching stitching mat is a little quilt mini that my friend vanessa made me and she gifted this to me a couple years ago and i just thought that it worked great with my project so those are i have one project that i focused on in september for september sampler sorry and i finished it this is my very first finished reproduction sampler i have many started and but this is the very first one that i have actually finished and it was very fitting that this was my first finish because it has my mom's name on it i dedicated it to her and that is sarah casey unwin 1848 and this is by chessy and me i stitched this for september sampler soiree and also for the love of brenda sal and this is stitched with all the called for threads on vintage vintage pearled barley by lakeside linens which is the called for i love this so much i originally saw this when brenda was stitching it for the cell um that country sampler had released and i immediately was like oh that was one of my very favorite samplers that i've ever seen and so then when it was released to all the rest of us i immediately ordered it and it was such a pleasure to stitch i absolutely loved stitching 11 prayers into this and thinking about my mom and i will insert a picture of my mom here she was born in august and also passed away in august she passed away three days after her 45th birthday so i think that it is super fitting that i finished this as my first reproduction sampler my plan is to put family members my ancestors either living or dead on my samplers and then of course i'll put on the back of the frame the original girls information so that that can be documented as well excuse me but i'm so pleased to have this done and they're like potato chips samplers are addicting i i just i want to i want to stitch all of the samplers now and i have so many started that i just that's what i want to focus on so i was talking to my friend a vet and she was like well how many whips do you have and i i didn't count because that's just kind of depressing but she has like hers whittled down from like 30 or 40 last year to like 13. and i was so jealous so i decided that i would just find that many samplers that and projects that i want to focus on that are my very favorites that i want to get done and i would put everything else away and so that's what i did i went through all my stash and i went through all my whips and i just kept out like 15 that i'm going to just either pick one at a time to work on and while i'm working on that one sampler i will work on fall smalls winter christmas so holiday stitching and then sewing related smalls as well so any type of small or seasonal mini like a small stitching um i will work on that and a sampler and then like my autumn a hawker and hollow i just i'm trying to like redo my stitching rotation so that i can really just focus on my goals and not be so squirrely so i'm still i'm still fine-tuning my plan i haven't 100 um gotten down to exactly what i want to do but i will have that charted out next time so that i can show you and then in my next video i will go through my projects that i set aside um and show you all of that so that i can it's like announcing my plan so that i can maybe stick to it but we'll see right um next i will show you some framed pieces and fully finishes i've had a lot of fun this month finishing up pieces for halloween and getting framed pieces back from the framer i've been working on my halloween wall for quite a few years and it's coming together nicely i still have a few more pieces that i would really like to stitch or complete for the wall but for right now i am super happy with the way it's coming i will insert a video of my stitchy wall after i show you my pieces but the first piece that i got back from my framer is a way we write by blackbird designs oh i love this so much this border took quite a bit of patience to stitch but it is well worth it it is such a beautiful beautiful piece so that is the first one that i got back and i was so excited to get that up on my wall and then the second piece i framed in the exact same frame and that is when witches go riding by prairie schooler so cute i think that this is one of my very favorite halloween pieces it's just everything that i love about halloween and then i got done stitching the good witch by stacy nash designs last year but it was like the week of halloween so i never fully finished it so after my last video i finished it into a pillow but before i had finished it i had looked and looked and looked down in my basement for this frame that i knew i had i'd bought it a few years ago i looked everywhere that i thought it could be and i could not find it so i finally just was like fine i'll finish it into a pillow but the supplies that i had ordered to finish the pillow like the trim and then the bow around the witch's waist i never got it was on back order and then with covet i just never got it so um i finished into a pillow and then i found the frame downstairs like the next day of course right so i unstitched it unfilled it and i put it into the frame that i had in mind for it i just think it's just every good witch needs a fancy little squirrely black frame i think i got this frame at walmart a few years ago so it's you know not an expensive frame but super cute and it was the perfect size i mean i have not once you know there's one square left on each the top and the bottom it was just meant for this piece but i love love love this so much and i put it right here in my stitching tray next to my spools quilt spools quartet quilt by fig tree fabrics or fig tree quilts so then the piece de resistance that i have been waiting to get back and i picked it up in september when we were at stitch week and that is um a ghoul tied welcome by plum street samplers i love love love this so much and this frame that coordinates with it so perfectly i'm just absolutely 100 happy with it so i was so excited to get this back in time she got it done um i framed it at the craft center of fine stitchery and jamie got it done while i was there i really really appreciated it she always takes such good care of me and she does a fantastic framing job so then my very last piece that i just fully finished i i had been working on um in august and finished stitching in august i sat down to fully finish it and i had it on my ironing board and then my friend lily she texts me a picture of some fabric and i stopped what i was doing and ordered the fabric and i just knew that i had to wait for it to fully finish my piece and that is october 31st by blackbird designs and so here's the fabric i'm talking about it's blackbird design sampler fabric and then i put it on the bottom as well and then here's the top and the pattern has you do these little x's all the way around they're not perfect but i don't think that it needs to be perfect i absolutely love this so much this took a long time to finish it's drums are not easy but there were well worth the effort so i'm so glad to have that fully finished just in time for halloween and to put it away right i will insert a video here of my halloween wall [Music] so [Music] [Music] thanks for letting me share my halloween wall with you i have been super excited about it but i am even more excited to make it into a fall wall so october 31st after the trick-or-treating is done i'm going to be making it into my fall wall and i will be sure to share that with you next time but it's it's my favorite stitching fall is my favorite stitching my favorite time of year and it's just so much fun um if i could leave it up all year long i can get away with it i would so my last video i had um done a giveaway for this book winds of autumn and this was provided by farmers attic they are on etsy and they are a great etsy shop i order a lot of stuff from them and so lucy sent this and then fat quarter shop sent a bag it's gonna be crinkly mad for plaid bag and the winner for that is diane riley it's r-i-e-l-l-y i
