Florida man hospitalized after setting himself on fire outside Trump trial

Tonight, a man from Saint Augustine is hospitalized and making national headlines this after he set himself on fire in New York City just hours ago. You're seeing video of the aftermath here. It happened outside the hush money trial involving former President Donald Trump and as we speak, 37 year old Maxwell Azarel is in the hospital with life threatening injuries. Police tell Azarel arrived in New York earlier this week. Authorities say he was carrying colorful pamphlets that were full of anti government conspiracies and here's what we've uncovered about him tonight. His last known address is in Saint Augustine, but some of our sister stations in Atlanta and Houston tell us they received emails with his manifesto. They appear to have been scheduled to be sent around the time he set himself on fire. 10 investigates also dug into his records earlier today, the Saint John's County Sheriff's Office confirmed Asaro was arrested there last year on charges of property damage and disturbing the peace. Federal Court. Documents also show he's filed a lawsuit against several public figures and entities including the Bill Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation and Meta right now. Police don't believe he was targeting any particular person or group. This is of course a developing story. We'll stay on top of any new developments.
