hey everyone edward here at windows report and in this video i will show you how to fix the windows update message something went wrong in windows 11. so the first solution that you should always take in consideration is to run the windows update troubleshooter to do this press the windows button then select the settings icon and afterwards make sure to click on system on the left pane and then on the right side scroll down until you find the troubleshoot category and click on it now just click on other troubleshooters and afterwards make sure to click on the run button next to windows update now windows will try to detect any problems and fix them as soon as possible another useful solution is to check if the update orchestrator service is enabled to do this press the windows button then simply type services and select it as an application from the search results now as you can see the list is quite big so if you're trying to find a specific service just click on a random one and then simply type the first letter of the service that you're looking for in our case it's you from update orchestrator service so now just locate the update orchestrator service and double click on it to open its properties in here make sure to click on the drop down menu next to startup type and select the automatic option now if the service isn't running if the service status is set to stop make sure to click on the start button and press on apply and ok to save the changes afterwards restart your pc and check if the problem still persists you can also perform a few scans to fix this issue to do this press the windows button then simply type cmd and then run command prompt as an administrator now in the command prompt window make sure to type the following commands but press enter after each command now as you can see if you press enter after the last command you have to restart your pc in order for the scan to occur so just press on y and then press on enter and the next time your computer restarts the check d scan will initiate afterwards you can check if the problem still persists another useful solution is to edit the registry to do this press the windows button then simply type regedit and select registry editor from the search results now in the registry editor window you have to navigate to the following location hkey local machine then double click on system afterwards expand current control set then expand services and afterwards scroll way way down until you find the use section and expand the uso svc category now in here what you have to do is simply double click on the start d word and in the value data make sure that 2 is inputted as a value now you can press on ok restart your pc and check if the issue still persists another useful solution is to roll back windows to a restore point to do this press the windows button then simply type rstrui and run it as a command from the search results now in here make sure to click on choose a different restore point and then press on next and click on the earliest point in time before the problem occurred now just click again on next and lastly press on the finish button to confirm the restoration process after the restoration procedure is finished just restart your pc and check if the issue is solved and lastly another useful solution is to reset windows to do this press the windows button then select the settings icon and then on the left pane make sure to click on system now on the right side scroll down until you find the recovery section and click on it now in here just click on the reset this pc button next to reset this pc and afterwards just proceed with your preferences to start the reset procedure and that's it plenty of solutions to consider as usual for more information and details you can check the article in the description below and if you enjoyed this video just make sure to like and subscribe to our channel thank you
