Five Star Wars Ships you *WOULD* want to serve on

[Music] last week we covered five Star Wars capital ships you would not want to serve on due to the negative impact it would have on your life expectancy in other words five ships which due to different design or usage flaws were extremely deadly today we'll be doing the opposite instead discussing five warships you would want to be assigned to as with last time I want to choose five ships which exemplified different positive aspects while also avoiding narrative bias if we looked at how ships were destroyed in the movies every vessel on this list would belong to one of the good guys and would ferry a main character will remove plot armor and instead try to be a bit more logical also be putting my focus on vehicles which are actually meant to experience large-scale battles with that being said first off we have and this list is not in order the executor class super stardestroyer ensure I've talked about the flaws of the executor and the Star Destroyer family of ships generally many times on this channel but with the executor you have a ship that was absolutely overwhelming and dominant within its era which could single-handedly despite any issues with its design stand up to basically any fleet in the entire galaxy this vessel represented the height of the empires of military power now maybe you don't want to serve on the executor herself because of the chance your force-choked by lord Vader but basically any other completed executor is a pretty safe bet now you could say similar things about the Eclipse class dreadnought or the Vai can't but with the executor the gap between your power and the power of your enemies is the most significant in my opinion still this wasn't an incredibly nuanced well designed or even technologically sophisticated vessel rather it was absolute brute strength comparatively we have our number two ship which represents technological marvel the nebula class star now could the nebula compete with an executor in one-on-one combat well not really and once it had some really really great star fighter pilots on board however the nebula was an incredible amount of firepower durability and carrying capacity put into a frame that was just over a kilometer long it was probably the most effective ship in the entire galaxy and pound for pound at least the strongest if you're operating in nebula in say the fifth fleet you'll know that any enemy you come across at least within the known galaxy will not only be less efficient but will probably have less advanced computer and sensor systems and their star fighters will certainly not be nearly as good speaking of fighters the nebulas compliment allowed it to respond to basically any situation however because the ship was so expensive in the so rare it was typically kept in the core and thus saw less action because of its importance now if I wanted to dive deeper into super weapons we could talk about something like the Eclipse class super star destroyer or the world devastators which because of strange dark empire technology we're basically immune to new republic attacks but to be honest that just feels like cheating and I'll just mention them here next up departing from the self-sufficient carrier that the nebula is we have the dedicated carrier and for this slot I choose the quasar why because once the quasar lets off its fighters it's basically no longer a target now if the Year the Alliance perhaps you might need a throat and service and even in the anti capital ship duties but if you're the Empire you most likely will drop the quasar in behind your imperial star destroyers and let it launch its fighters then basically retreat from battle the same would be the case with the thanh fac sure the ship is vulnerable but it really offers no threat this can in some cases be a weakness for example the endurance class fleet carrier at the Battle of Orenda held on to its complement of Ewings for too long and stayed in battle and was destroyed alternatively things like trade fetter raishin cruisers were often targeted because of the sheer amount of resources they held and sometimes carriers like the quasar were used inappropriately like the flurry at the Battle of Pokhara still getting in one of these ships I think at least if you're not a Starfighter pilot increases your chance of survival alternatively some carriers not having a real need for speed are hulking weapons and armor platforms examples of this would be the aforementioned Trade Federation battle cruiser or something like the Mon Calamari blue diver a heavy carrier these also would be fairly safe next up I want to talk about the defensively minded ship and I think the best example of this is the MC 90 or alternatively the mediator class battle cruiser well larger Mon Calamari ships specifically like the vy can't excel because of their sheer power the MC 80 90 and mediator line relied on exceptional shielding redundant systems and a very sturdy hull well the MC 80 did not have the same firepower as an imperial star destroyer it was much much more well protected and especially when combined with the Alliance's advanced star fighters had incredible survivability however I think this is actually best exemplified by the MC 90 which unlike previous mongaul cruisers was not a refitted civilian ship but actually a purpose-built military vessel I've got a whole video on Akbar's post home one flagships coming up where i dive deep into this topic so I won't go too deep into it now but you'll have to take my word when I tell you that this ship because of its immense protection could be expected to survive almost any encounter I mean MC 90s fared well during the dark empire crisis they use on Vong war and beyond and there's a really good reason for that finally we have the well designed ship and notably this is different from a heavily defensive ship technological marvel or a very powerful ship because its main strength is not some asset it holds but the way that it's efficiently designed a good example of this I think would be the chest Star Destroyer sure it didn't have incredible weapons power or shielding or any strange technology but it basically took an imperial star destroyer slimmed it down while maintaining decent power generation and removed all weak points the great thing is especially if you're part of say the Chess Navy one of these ships isn't going to stand out it's not going to be the immediate target in battle and you also won't die because of random a wing pilots flew into your bridge however it's also very effective it can compete with modern vessels well not being dramatically more expensive other good options would include ships from the legacy era which were minimalized and made to be highly efficient but I think the gist Star Destroyer is really the best choice although we've never seen it because it operated in an era of imperial star destroyers and even during the Galactic Alliance era ships just rife with weak points however these five ships have just been my opinion is one of these death traps and I'm not realizing it is there another ship which better fits my description let me know all of that and more down in the comments today's question of the day comes from games PC full who asks about the Eviscerator from Star Wars Battlefront 2 and this is actually a great question because this bothered me so when I played the game I noticed that the Star Destroyer has the wrong turbolasers it's supposed to be an imperial to Star Destroyer but instead of the octuple Barbet cannons on the side of the superstructure it just has the double turbo lasers similar to for example the implants from rogue 1 since then I just assumed that it was a refit imp 1 like the Devastator after a new hope but I checked Wikipedia and apparently it is an imperial 2 Star Destroyer and sure enough in other scenes you can actually see the proper guns so I'm assuming someone messed up with the model or perhaps the other superstructure just didn't work from a gameplay perspective but I hope that answers your question at least somewhat basically it was
