Martin can't get to it DeSean hope with the second set needs to get him to the Rams 44-yard line from the shotgun all kinds of time Carr pulls it down and he's a good running quarterback on the bootleg car more Running Room and Carr will pick up another first down on a gain of 12. here they come car finds Davis he made the catch and the touchdown [Applause] [Applause] good job by David Carr buying time with his feet you look into the face of Jamie Martin and you know why he's out of the game right now the Rams quarterback has suffered a concussion so he is on the sideline and the seventh round draft pick out of Harvard Ryan Fitzpatrick makes his NFL debut down 14 to nothing Fitzpatrick will hand it off to Stephen Jackson and Jackson goes nowhere Robert Smith then Ryan Fitzpatrick has but potential all that means is the third time he's done it yet here's Fitzpatrick he's got a man opening through the hands of Isaac Bruce boy that would have helped the youngster on third down looking for the 45. Jonathan Wells makes a move gets the first down and more all right [Music] [Applause] from the 38 of St Louis dad is looking to pass half back pass to Bart Daphne and it's broken up good coverage it's hard Zips that we're Andre Johnson fighting inside the 25 in football that you know when you have it you're playing well you got to think if they could score it here it's going to do something to the confidence of the Rams as well but a big play by Ryan Pickett to come up with a sack still no trouble see if they're able to protect him any better Patrick lost that one up Isaac Bruce is open and makes the grab here's Fitzpatrick let's pick up completes that without to Tory Holt that's one thing now he's got to take that ability and translate it into production on the field Isaac Bruce with blockers and Bruce gets it down inside the 30-yard line give him 14. he's going with two tight ends off the play fit Fitzpatrick showing some of that Mobility Falls forward for first down third and ten what's coming picked up all kinds of time for Fitzpatrick and now he runs out can't find a receiver and just gets rid of it Jeff Wilkins will come on to try one from 37 yards out and it is good two points on the board and come out with the win another short kick in this one taking the body up man Jonathan Wells and Wells with a big return a similar thing happened to them last week against Arizona [Applause] card Johnson inside the 10. you know get their feet under him a little bit after the timeout second and goal from the 10. card flushed out running room but he Zips it in for the score Corey Bradford with the catch and the touchdown [Music] [Applause] thank you I don't know if David Carr's had this much fun since he's about 10 years old uh another great job by David Carr buying time with his feet on the St Louis Rams in the game the Rams came in saying they had to absolutely win if they wanted any chance of making the playoffs for rookie out of Harvard in that quarterback for the Rams they'll start at the 25 handing off to Stephen Jackson came out warmed up and they decided to let him go with it but now with him out just another problem good run by Jackson out across Midfield good second effort after being hit initially at the Texan 48. Jackson cuts it back and Steven Jackson will pick up 11 more it's actually fourth and six and now they're going for it they need to get across the 25. Fitzpatrick hit as he throws and that one rops up and is picked off Marcus Coleman with the interception he lost it and the Saint Louis Rams got it back see Fitzpatrick's going to get fresher inside that ball just floats on him see the ball just gets away from him Marcus Coleman good job of making a play on but you got to take care of the ball Isaac Bruce does a great job of hustling back three wide receivers on third down Patrick holds on to it this time touchdown Rams [Applause] 19 yards on the pass and the first touchdown pass of Ryan Fitzpatrick's career car changing again somebody's gonna wait David the playground is winding down he snaps it directs traffic and concludes it to Andre Johnson for the first time first down at the St Louis Dominic Davis right up the middle in Davis [Music] Andre Johnson first down Texans no he's out of bounds Andre Johnson gets that right foot down and that left foot at least he's got that new drift to work right now all right snap Stanley gets it down but it still hooks and Braun will miss it Seahawks coming your way at the conclusion of art contest here in Houston right now the Rams trying to come back is Ryan Fitzpatrick tight end goes in motion Fitzpatrick under pressure and forced to pull it down more Line Greenwood was the first guy there and you don't have enough guys to pick him up Greenwood with two sets on the afternoon on Third and long Fitzpatrick going deep over the middle of the field over throws Kevin Curtis you've got a win in the hand you're saying gosh we don't want to lose this one after so many tough ones this year Andre Johnson picking up the first down got some young defensive backs locked in man coverage you got to try to give him some help cars once again Johnson in the ram territory and Andre Johnson with his 10th catch to the Ball Game Johnson working against Chris Johnson right now and they go right to him on the Slants and Andre Johnson going to be out near another the Rams defense has been there once again open is Daphne he had to go up and he pulled it in for the catch [Applause] third down car Dominic Davis wasn't expecting that one and it's intercepted [Applause] he said Tino isamoa pulls it in and the Rams defense gets another break [Music] get the ball back to the offense but they've got to get some chunks now they've got to get some guards and get in the end zone Ryan Fitzpatrick dumps it off to Madison Hitchcock and Hedgecock winds up picking up a St Louis first down out to the 40. [Applause] Here Comes pressure they get there Robert Smith will get the sack but really credit DeSean Polk I knew you had people in Mississippi that was Kirk saying that you didn't have people there point the finger here third down for the Rams open is Tori hope and he gets the first get ball there but today they are very aggressive and they're bringing the blitz hardly because they've got a Young quarterback Fitzpatrick going deep Tory Holt gets Tangled Up and draws the flag pass interference Defense number 33. no tips on here Jackson fights dive gets it in clearly this time Texans we're trying to run a little bit of clock to get more points if they can starting at their 32-yard line David Carr finds Andre Johnson in Durand territory okay on second down bootleg for Carr being chased and David Carr Dives forward and he got enough for the first down [Applause] Davis will run it they don't get the first down but it will keep the clock moving what's up and it's good to get into the playoffs and you can't win six without winning the first one and today was the first one in little little looking Bleak for him Fitzpatrick pulls it down on the scramble he'll pick up the first down out he's not prepared to do that under pressure and set sixth sack for this Houston Texans defense it is Chris McKenzie Fitzpatrick that was caught by Isaac Cruz out to the 40. Fitzpatrick parked by Sean McDonald he's short of the first trying to get back to what they used to be caught for the first down by Tory Holt you know these guys have a lot of Pride and these guys all have a lot of ability or they wouldn't be in the NFL and you know they just had to come out and focus and buckle down on fourth down Fitzpatrick love to get up cut into the end zone is Isaac Bruce for the touchdown [Applause] so now they have to go after the extra point for the onside kick those 27 ticks left on the clock happen they get the Hop they want balls loose hands recover Tory Holt got it and the St Louis Rams are still alive and what a great kick by Jeff Wilkins on second down Fitzpatrick Tory Holt makes the catch inside the 30. now Jeff Wilkins season long is 49 yards this would be shorter than that and there's an injured Texan on the field right now that will stop the clock with eight seconds remaining and attempt to field goal Dane look around the hole it's down cleanly Wilkins gets it up and it's good the St Louis Rams have pulled and almost improbable comeback the call Hedges the call it is Tails Houston has won the process underneath [Applause] we're through Davis [Applause] won't get there O.J otagway coming on the blitz and the cornerback gets to it [Applause] Fitzpatrick finds Corey Holt to send it to OT it's Patrick caught by Tory Holt he's got Running Room and slides 130 receiving yards in the process Kevin Curtis another round first down and more and the St Louis Rams have come all the way back to win the ball game no flags on the play how about that just a quick screen to Kevin Curtis their fastest wide receiver now and he just gashes them and takes it all the way to the end zone for the win with the 56-yard game-winner on his first reception of the game the Rams come all the way back and win it 33-27 in overtime for my partner JC Pearson I'm Kirk Menifee up next the second half of our Fox NFL Sunday doubleheader Giants and Seahawks
