Fishing a Spillway LOADED w/ Bass!

today we are fishing a massive Spillway at a lake that I have not been to in a really really long time I'm with my man Kevin from gunfish TV be sure to go check him out and we are going to catch some fish today hope you guys enjoy this one let's hop on into it there's one on the crankbait another one there he is oh that dude that's a good one hey it's number two on the crankbait this Spillway is loaded too they're just stack they're just stacking up yeah there he is dude what is that that's a big fish nice fish I tell you what that was a fun fight yeah check that out yeah man f f be yeah shallower anyway if they're anything like they are at the other Lake they're going to be on them rocks up on the bank I mean I've been catching them shallow on the Rocks too right but I think here there's more fish with a good size to them yeah a little bit better quality yeah over there it's just a bunch of small ones there's some big fish in that place but there's a lot of tiny ones got you but here we didn't seem to catch very many super small ones they seem to all be bigger yeah yeah it's pretty good 2 three lbs and up yeah I think the biggest one I C out of here i c a 6 and a half yeah out of here I would love to catch a six and a half today oh yeah that'd be fun that'd be pretty sweet one go right down by and right on going which I think does uh does in here have stripers in here does hio have stripers yeah have hybrids hybrids Goa not a ton of them but there's some in there got you I don't know I might have caught one or two that a bite a bite oh there we go yeah yeah he's a baby what you bite D Shaky Head shy head mhm it was a good bite too I mean it was I can feel him thump it he's baby though nice hey it's a fish a fish bite we just need him to get a little bit bigger that is not what we're going for he was up there right on was he up on that rock or were you feeling any rock well I catch it on that rock and I was right on the bank but I pulled it off quite a ways before he actually had hit it okay but I was fishing painfully slow not going to lie well that might just be what it takes yeah but he was pulling back on it it was good bite yeah I think every time we see like good rocks we need to fish them and we'll probably catch fish on all that's right all the sections of rock especially the stuff like this is like kind of scattered Rock but if we find like a thick rock Bank yeah we'll probably just have them stacked up what color worm you throwing like a green pumpkin yeah I think a black would probably work too I was kind of looking at my black and blue jig there looking at that thinking that might water's not muddy but since it's cloudy might work yeah there up there shall oh another one yeah there we go I think he's a little bit better yeah yeah just a little bit well that shows I he is he might be the same size he might be the same size but I threw right up there with the jig and did not get bit so he was right on the bank yeah yeah the Shaky Head might be even though I did get one bite on The Jig and obviously the jig's going to probably appeal get a bigger one bigger fish but big fish like that shy head too oh yeah you're right about that shy head is just a great like allaround bait where you can just do a bunch of stuff with it it's proven technique oh yeah undoubtably any time of the year oh got one yep what is it a bash or a crappy I don't know a big CRA sure is I I knew it was a good group out there though there we is a nice crappy and I can tell you what I wouldn't mind catching about 25 of them eating them for supper dude that's a pretty one yeah see you later bud thank you for biting he was fat too what the I just threw off my whole leader all right y'all we're going to work work our way back up the lake we've been down here fishing around the dam a little bit on this really good rock right here and just not getting this so if that shelf actually comes down into the water that that could be that could be good you throwing quar ounce head yeah yeah that's what I throw almost 90% of the time there he is yep on the Shaky Head yep little bit better fish I don't know not bad I've got to change the worm on my Shaky Head I've got to go to something a little more natural they are not biting my jig he just pulled up here yeah they don't like that jig too good yeah they're they're not they're not on The Jig too good I guess it's the biggest one barely hey number three he's a skinny guy he needs to eat they don't have hardly no color with it being you know the water I know being so stained up just so uh so light col heck yeah he was right there on that yeah he was right in the Rocks I was really thinking we were going to get more than one fish off of that yeah all right y'all we jumped across the lake we're on more of a flat little bit different Rock hopefully we got some good gravel that comes out is what we're hoping and maybe we can pick up a biging I don't know I got this little tiny swimbait for this crappy I don't know B will probably eat that that's another big one golly dude look at them yeah they're like right there oh my goodness dude that's a yeah yeah that's uh oh one bit me did it yeah and then it came off I don't know if it was a bass or dude what is that that's a big fish I don't know I think it might be one of those hybrids I don't know he is fighting though it's got to be a hybrid the way he's fighting is not a large M it's not no he was way too wide I don't think he was I think it's a hybrid oh didn't look get that is that on that tiny crappy jig yeah yeah it is it is oh dud he's a decent one too kind of hard this he's good sized that's a lot of what we've been seeing right there good hey now look if I could get into them and catch them all day I would gladly do it that's sweet a that is a nice one dude yeah that's a good size one I haven't never caught one this big here or at the other Lake that's pretty cool man hey he nice fish I tell you what that was a fun fight yeah he come up and smoke that thing we're seeing a ton of these fish out here oh one just came off the bottom after mine look at all of them coming me too double [Laughter] up now this is fun this is fun yep hybrid is that what it is it's so many down there oh my goodness 4 lb house this is yours might be bigger than mine I'm going tell you if we can catch these like for the next hour I will sit here and catch them oh yeah I think these are pretty good to eat too but I've never actually I wonder what the limit is because I don't even know me either but these things right here are some chunkers oh no no we were hooked up with the D but we couldn't actually couldn't actually do it you I might that schooler atam maybe but I could definitely put that that paddle tail on the hooked up again yep this is a good one too that is a good one oh dude that is that might be a large mouth that is a big one it's fighting like a large mouth a large mouth yeah look at him see him running oh yeah that's not exactly this is something good I think I might have a big large m D I got to put that paddle tail on I don't know maybe not cuz it is it's kicking a lot now I can't believe I lost it what is it what you got what you got he he is running got this light action Rod bent over while he's fighting that one I'm going try to I'm going try to get another one on my I hope it's like a six PB large one's all over no it's another hybrid one's all over it he's a good one though oh there he is oh you got one there's another big one is it yeah oh God they're all good size oh he's trying to things these things are good sized oh man oh might need to find out the limit on these suckers good gosh get in here dude all right what do you think try to catch a bass try to catch a bass all right y'all it's time to catch another largemouth bass not a hybrid Bass got him oh jig hey there we go decent fish here there we go that's the biggest one of the Day little jig fish at least he's a little bit more healthy than the other ones not bad I'll tell he was literally on the bank dude yeah literally on the bank there you go thank you bud I say we get these cast in and then move yeah dude that was those fish were coming up they didn't look very big but yeah I don't know I threw the crappy jig up up there and got bit one time and um and then I didn't get bit anymore I'm excited I think it's going to happen up here I I think we're going to smoke them up here just to give all the YouTube Folks at home a little bit of uh context we were fishing on the other end of the lake all day we came up here there's a Spillway up here that usually has water coming over it but the last time that I was here there was no water it was dry well today there is plenty of water flowing over it and the lake Above This one is actually heated so the water is warmer up here than it has been where we've been at and since this lake is so small these fish can move around and they could just be stacked up here like crazy like there's a good possibility that there's going to be a lot of fish and when we first pulled up there was fish schooling he saw them he said it didn't look big but there was some fish schooling which we have not seen today at all so it's looking like this might be a good area yeah the water temps went up even more yeah what is it now it's 52.1 oh nice so by the time I'm going get up there it might be like 53 54 for sure get that jig back in my hand looks like a couple oh yeah there's some bait and there's a couple fish sitting at the edge of that drop right there there he is yep oh heck yeah already y'all already oh yeah he ain't bad no that's that's a decent fish yeah yeah we were thinking this was going to happen we were thinking it was going to happen and it's starting to happen right now nice found the warmer water found a little bit of current it's all you need get bit rock overly excited rock bass yeah like it popped off the Rock and I was like oh there he is oh dude I just had a giant I just had a giant I thought it was a rock I thought it was a rock and I was pulling into it and he was just oh dude it was a big one it was a big one I'm tell you you know what it is they're right up there where that water's coming around and it's coming right up to that edge right there oh my gosh why did I not set the hook earlier dude that was a big one I'm telling you that had to be a 5 pounder like you know you have those ones where like you can't like feel nothing you just feel like you're stuck and then all of a sudden it starts moving that's what just happened to me dang same spot I just got that last one just off this little tiny little point off the side of it that was not a baby like we've been catching I can guarantee you that yeah these fish up here are definitely a lot more active yeah he is I've got to y'all I'm trying to stay true to this B but I'm getting my butt Whoop I'm getting my butt who take I ain't going to lie I'm thinking about putting it down for a second and throwing this crankbait right here because I've got them on the Shaky Head but think about if I'm catching them like this on a Shaky Head think about if I throw that little crankbait in there I know it they might smoke it so I think I just need to try it like it's kind of stupid for me not to I've been wanting to throw it and catch a fish on it all day so why not we're going to throw the chick magnet see if we can catch a big chick honestly I'm kind of just hoping that that big one that ate my Shaky Head might hit the crank I mean that felt so dang good I was convinced I was in a rock and then it started moving and I was like oh no got him yep hey jig [Laughter] baby literally one just chased this up the cast before that's crazy I think we found where the bass are at for sure look how white he is yeah no way oh he took one of my legs off how deep is it right there I don't know he stole one of my legs maybe I'm just going to be Mr steal your spot and throw my crankbait up here too there oh there he is there he is oh Jee oh my God like I'm missing legs like all right I'm done with the crank bait I can't do it is that a better one oh yeah that is a better one oh yeah oh yeah get in here there we go go yeah that look it's loaded that that corner right there I mean you're probably going to get bit right here in a second here we go thank you bud good old jig catching them up starting to play catch up with that jig let's see here I don't catch fish before long you going to start passing me they're right they're right there on that edge I think that current's probably coming around you know coming right along that scene you can't really see it like with your eyes but you know it's there that's right yeah it's probably just right under the under the surface there got him got him it's so many right here yeah oh dude that's a pretty good one heck yeah man that might be the best one yet I'm not sure he look pretty fat yeah oh yeah that's a nice oh yeah he's getting up there closer to the 3 lb [Music] Mark dang it I messed up on the boat flip oh you suck dang it it is so many down there oh my it's crazy how we're just like struggling all day to catch bass and then and you find that one spot you were talking about it earlier yep you find that one spot and it just lights out yep it's just the way it goes sometimes that probably was a three pounder or close it was very close to it it was a very nice fish I should have known not the boat flipping that was a nice yep oh come on he just dumped the crap out of it and then he dropped it I mean it's just one solid thump I don't even know if you ever had it how do you thump it that good and not eat it that's what I just can't understand that was the best thump I had all day where you at fish smoke oh goodness that's a big one ain't it oh yeah that's a better fish come here come here yeah there we go dude when I set the hooking him out yeah I thought he was like going to be like a four pounder he wasn't moving no on that jig here we go another one fish all day all day for this to happen we got into those wipers had a bunch of fun and then we said you know what we're here to bass fish we're not here to mess with these suckers but fun fun oh big there he is oh that dude that's that's a good one he's decent things are getting wild up here y'all things are getting wild dude that's that same spot is it yeah they're just stack they're just stacking up in these spots y they're just stacking up yep good times good times I don't even know how many fish we've got now I don't know I I don't have a clue I kind of wanted to keep up with the amount of bass CAU but honestly I I've lost that but that's a good problem to have dude we get up there to theway like I don't even know that was another bite yo you had another bite Yep this this probably going to be so crazy I'll be dragging it and then I'll F them like kind of dump it and pull it back and sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't I think a lot of the times those smaller ones like that that's what they're doing right another one he's got it though oh yeah that's a better one I've done got my rot on the L T uping crappy jig it's like every cat F that is cool this is why y'all don't leave bait hanging off the side this is what'll happen golly he done got it in his throat I we've definitely exceeded 10 glass now oh yeah Haven we for sure yeah cuz I I was counting for a little bit and I was at like 5 whenever we like first pulled up to here gotta so we're definitely up there at 10:00 if not a little bit more about to be one more stacked right there in that one spot St I'm just waiting for a big one to eat it yeah D sooner or later sooner or later a big one's going to [Music] eat me too oh doubled double up baby come on we got to get them both in the boat yes sir oh look check that one out he's got one eye he's missing his eye on that side like his like his pupil is completely gone pretty wild I'll check that out heck yeah manoo fun fun you know I'm kind of glad we struggled earlier today cuz that's what's making this so much more fun exactly exactly when you struggle and it finally come together man that's that's what makes it all you Slackline him good gosh that's why he's on top of the water he didn't know it hit him he was like oh my goodness hey he's got some color yeah he does I had one that had some color to him yeah yeah pretty oh man dude as soon as I picked up I was like um he's swimming with it dude it's hundreds of bass here yeah we haven't even got up to what we think is going to be the best part sure oh swimming off to the side with it I'm just waiting until you do that and it's a four pounder yeah so I it'san decent decent fish but like I said I mean a four like yeah if we keep on somebody's going to stick a four yeah there's enough fish up here there's got to be some big ones yeah no doubt CH with that old M crawl trailer it's coming it's coming y'all you see that you see that fish just come up right there oh I saw it yeah like I picked up and I was like oh I don't feel nothing and then I look and then I you know looked my line was oh dude it's like coming up rolling on bait he's still doing it look there it is again like what are they doing [Laughter] bass oh my goodness they're still coming up right there oh dude that's hey did you him yeah so he's coming in the morning cracking him every dude what' you get him on CR bait we're catching him every got him oh yeah oh no he felt like he was oh I got that's why got a hook top of the head yeah I was going to say wait a minute now this might be thank you buddy but I think once we get right here up in that bubble Trail oh wait a minut oh got oh oh terrible hook set oh dude nice one too almost jumped in the boat dude that's a nice fish yeah he's not bad yeah he starting to get into him a little bit more again I heard that drag scream I was like he does set the hook on one what I haven't you know haven't weigh any fish I know we don't have 12 lbs I know we don't have 12 lb I would say I don't know what do you think we got you think we got 10 n and a half that one come off I think we might have like n and a half right now yeah if I would have landed that one it would have been putting us in a little bit of a better position too yeah but you did catch a good one too right now we got I'm just going to be safe and I'm going to say we got n and half yeah I'd say that's that's a safe bet I've caught so many fish on this stri King Finesse Worm I had to bite it down cuz it's ripped so bad I've caught like all the fish on the same worm now we rigged up ready to go again there's fish that just jumped up there in that current hey oh really yeah I just saw him on that right side oh over here yeah that tells me I bet you there's some up there feeding in there there is oh dude look how fat that one is yeah he's been up here eating Chad oh my goodness I hope all of them are like that up here I mean f wow y check that dude out that is cool man that looks like a small mou yeah yeah that or the dang topper yeah that's true I can get them on the topper going all what was that I don't know I think I had fishing lines oh really I don't know it was something weird I don't think it was a fish but I could pull it that's why I was saying it might be fishing line there we go got one feels like a I think it might be I saw a couple that looked like it was oh it's a large M it is dude it might be large M up here might be the some of the ones I saw were big yeah like 3 4 lb fish whatever they were that would be nice a 34 lb LGE M yeah holy crap they were my leader two times a day that's happened once with me and once with you oh my god yep big ones too we're going to catch a good one cuz I saw some like four Pounders he choked it too woo that's cold I thought the spba dude I got B on that first gas dude before I even crank this thing down he was on it I mean there we go o good one good one that's a bass a bass that's a good one D smaller than what I thought it's just up it's that K it'll trick you went on the spinner bait oh that's a better one oh he a quite as big as I was hoping but see how the Shad go they're loving that jig that jig has been oh look at got like a cut on his belly that jig for me this year has been just everything I mean I've always always caught fish on a jig yeah but this year has been like nuts look at he's got a yeah that's nasty cut up underneath them I got one right there then I got another one [Laughter] I golly I got a jig tit on I might have to start throwing it there he is another this spillway loaded too loaded it's Lo we fished for several hours M and it was it was pretty brutal and we kind of had in the back of our heads that we would come up come up here and uh and get them but man that's dude that's a Beau fish too that is oh dude that fish got some weight to it yeah we're up in up in the weight a little bit that jig is smoking me now thank you bud that fish was over too come on Shaky Head don't let me down around yeah dude Shaky Head nice one oh my he's nice but he ain't as nice as them jig fish are them jig fish are nice but look at that hook set though top of the mouth uhhuh that was on current break we fished that Spillway up there caught some fish now we're back to where we were catching them at a little bit ago we haven't caught anything yet but I know we're going to there you go there he is Shakey head oh yeah he's a little fatter yeah cuz I didn't drove the jig all through there and have not got you know B that's got a little more on the on the Shaky Head bite on this lower part of this fway here mhm and they were liking that jig up there right at the spillway but back here maybe they like to shake head I don't know kind of weird how that works but up there you're getting way more bites than I was on that jig dang it I felt like a good bite felt them thump it I didn't even check him dud [Laughter] First cast would you shake your head D they just want a little different little different profile yep that's what it was I come up and it was just going right off to the side I was like Welly man y'all check this that's a good one is it that's a good one this is it's got to be yeah yeah this has got to be the biggest one of the day got to be please stay on there oh yeah oh yeah it's a nice fish oh yeah oh yeah definitely my biggest one oh yeah we might be we're close we we might be touching I mean that one's close to three yeah I mean he got a belly on close to close to 12 I would say we definitely got 11 yeah for sure man what a fish what a day perseverance never give up if I was Mike I canelli I'd be screaming right now good thing I'm not Mike I canelli oh is that another good one oh he ain't that good he decent just a fun one yeah just a fun one D are strong up here yeah it's like Ripper fish oh this he's a little big yeah he is bigger than I thought better than I thought man y'all I'm going tell you this is no he came off lost it this is this is one of those days and I'm going to tell y'all these are one of those days you got to like soak in because they don't happen all the time so you kind of just really got to enjoy them CU man this is uh this has gotten a little crazy I mean this gotten a little little insane I changed this worm like at like 12:00 today and I've still been using the same one Strike King Finesse Worm she's surviving come on put it back in your mouth I hate when you do that I hate when you do that he picked up again another is that a good one yeah is it yeah oh dude he's pulling yeah he yeah oh dude tank I guess we caught all the small ones earlier yeah I guess so hey dude nice one yeah I tell you what this is just crazy tell you what this m Crush has got plenty of action today if you guys do want to get you a mck crush go to the Link in the description that's a baby that's a all right I think it's time I retire this worm and get another one cuz that one is just so tore up mine here you want one of these yeah you just thr me one so I don't have to go in yeah there it is it's right there on the deck yep thank you that's a color I've been using it should work oh green pumpkin purple that what it is yep it's green pumpkin purple swil they're a little slimy it's kind of hard to get them on the hook it is kind of hard to get it on there but when you get it on though it stays on Sam's gone face is hurt aliens dude there he is there's one dud that's another nice fish oh yeah oh yeah yeah it's so crazy they're so white like when you look at them they almost look like a Shad in the water yeah bit you got bit there he is I'm going tell y'all what this ain't a big one but I'm going to end it right there it has been an absolutely awesome day there he is there he is hey get your butt up in here it's little baby but we appreciate you biting that
