So today's episode of Stauffer Garage  we're going to be detailing a bmw   x drive 50i which this car is literally brand  new it's got less than a thousand miles on it   it's never been washed so this is the first  wash ever but as you can tell it is dirty on   the inside and the outside just from typical  usage but the owner wanted me to be the first   one to wash it do the first major detail of it  and then in a later video they're gonna come   back when there's more time to do the ceramic  coating on this car but if you guys are new   smash that thumbs up button let's go  ahead and get started on this detail now to start this detail off on the outside  we're going to go ahead and start with getting   the wheels and tires lightly sprayed off  and then applying eagle one all-wheel and   tire cleaner this stuff works really well at  getting any sort of residue off the tires itself   before we use our brushes and also  getting any brake dust or anything else   on the rim faces or inside the wheel drum loosened now you can see it here on the rear bumper just  by using the pressure washer how much dirt we're   just removing which is something i always  like to do before i even use my foam cannon   to just ensure that i get as much off as  possible because whenever you wash your   car there's always a risk that you're going to do  even the mildest amount of scratching on your car   which is why it is so important to  ensure that you use a two bucket method   and use plenty of soap to make sure  that you're not inducing any further scratching now one of the most surprising things about new  cars for most people is that when you buy a new   car the dealer usually washes the car when they  receive it and when they do that they drive it   through a car wash that's automatic and it gets  scratched and swirled to hell and it is one of   the hardest things to see as a detailer that a new  car off the lot has swirl marks so if you have the   opportunity to buy a new car and tell the dealer  not to touch it once they remove all the stickers   to protect the paint it's the best case scenario  but nine times out of ten the depressing part is   you will have a car that gets swirled and needs  to get paint correction done and this car is no exception   now these wheels aren't super dirty but i'm  still cleaning inside those wheel drums using my   bendable brush to get behind all of the spokes  get around the caliper and everything before   we use our soft brush for cleaning the faces of  these rims because they are painted and polished   you don't want to use anything hard use a  drill brush or use anything super aggressive   on those faces because it will get scratched  just like your paint so use something soft   use your detailing brushes to get into  those lug nuts and use a harder bristle   brush for the face of the tire  itself and not for the face of the rim now that we have those wheels and tires  out of the way it is time to bust out   that foam cannon and the main reason  for using the foam cannon is just to   further saturate any dirt on the surface  use the weight of that soap to kind of   help lubricate and pull it off of the paint  before you use your wash mitts in the next step you now for the wash stains i'm using my two bucket  method and i have a brand new wash mitt for this   car in particular i try to exchange out my  wash mitts usually every two to three cars   just to ensure that i don't have any  dirt encapsulated inside those wash mitts   even though i do wash them in between details   now if you guys didn't see the fall special in  the last video head on over to fox clean after   this video pick up your set of detailing brushes  and three pack of gray and three pack of blue   microfiber towels so that way you guys can elevate  your detailing game those detailing brushes work   great on the interior as well as the exterior  which makes it really easy to get to all those   hard to reach spots in the grill and  also your emblems so if you haven't   already or if you need a new set head on over  to foxclean after this video and pick them up so bye   now i like to use the pressure washer to  blast all of the soap residue on the car   itself and after i'm done with that  i like to use just a straight hose   to create a sheet of water across the entire  paint surface and the main reason for that is it   tries it actually pulls a lot of that water off  and makes your drying process that much easier is   now because this car is so new we're not going  to be removing the seats from this one but i am   actually super impressed with the x7 on how  far these seats move forward and backwards   to the point where i really did not miss a  single inch of carpet inside the interior   of this car which is honestly one  of the best things for a detailer this town look at those beautiful stars i'm going gonna be someone else i'm gonna be  myself i'm gonna be someone else i'm gonna   skip my breaks i'm gonna make mistakes i'm  gonna skip my breaks i'm gonna make mistakes   i'm gonna skip my breaks i'm gonna make mistakes   i'm gonna skip my breaks i'm gonna make  mistakes look at the beautiful stars when you're vacuuming your leather seats make  sure your tools that you're using do not have any   edges that are sharp or burrs or anything  on them that are going to cause scratching   to your leather because that would  be the worst thing that you could do   when you're detailing is to cause further  damage or cause any sort of nicks like that so   make sure you check your tools before and also  when you separate the seams to get into those   different corners of your leather seats go  ahead and just dab your vacuum into those   spots instead of dragging it so that way you  ensure that you do not cause any scratching at the time of filming this video  we're honestly very close to a million   subscribers on this channel and and one thing  i wanted to say was is i hope that my channel   inspires you to keep your car clean that  is honestly what all of these videos are   trying to accomplish is me just showing  you that as an individual you can clean   up your car you can tackle any detailing job  whatsoever any sort of stain with some simple   tools and products and you don't have to have  anything super high-end to get your car clean   and i honestly hope that through my videos you  guys feel inspired to keep your car clean as   well and i just want to say thank you from the  bottom of my heart for being subscribers being   part of the staffer garage crew and just making  this channel possible it means the world to me uh now for these door panels we're using the  chemical guys all clean diluted ten to one   and i'm using that to clean all of the  different surfaces and then i'm topping   it with chemical guys silk shine to give  it that extra luster make it look brand new   and then i'm using invisible glass for the  windows with a special tool that they offer   and it really helps with getting into all  those different edges especially on these   windows around the framing it actually has  like a little pocket around it so without that   tool it would have actually been really really  difficult to get the entire glass surface clean one trick when you're cleaning your steering  wheel is use a microfiber towel to kind of like   floss the airbag area behind any  of the paddle switches or behind   the actual steering wheel where it meets  the column area it's a little trick that   you can do to get that little extra dirt  that's hiding in those areas cleaned up and when you're cleaning air vents  this is also a good opportunity for   those detailing brushes to help  get into all those little extra   spots that are harder to get to  just with a towel or other tools now as much as i'd like to coat these petals  with some sort of dressing to make them   shine more i always like to just  clean them with all-purpose cleaner   wipe them off and just let that be it because  one thing you don't want to do to your petals   is apply anything that's going to cause anything  to be slippery so when you're detailing your car   keep that in mind with those surfaces so that way  you don't cause any issues with it being slippery now for these beautiful leather seats i'm going to  be using lexal cleaner with my brush to get them   clean first and then i'm going to be topping  it with the chemical guys leather conditioner   now one of the questions that you  guys ask a lot in the comments is   do leather seats take longer than cloth seats  or vice versa and for me personally it kind of   depends on how dirty they are because sometimes  leather seats with the two steps of cleaning   with the cleaner and then also the  conditioner they can actually take   almost as long as a cloth seat can  when it comes to getting them cleaned foreign so now one piece to not forget about is your  door jambs in your car after you've done   all of this work on the interior exterior  make sure you wipe those clean as well   and it just adds that extra touch to  your detail that you'll appreciate now i'm super appreciative that this owner  decided to buy the oem rubber floor mats   because it makes it easier for me but also makes  it a lot cleaner for them as a user is to just   vacuum those floor mats spray them with  an all-purpose cleaner use the drill   brush to kind of scrub them and then just  use water to rinse them off it's probably   the easiest floor mats to clean so if you  live in the north and you have a winter car   rubber floor mats kick ass and if you can  pick some up i definitely recommend them and i'm trying to tell you it oh now this is the first time that i've actually put  some drone footage in my videos and honestly i   picked the perfect morning to film these luckily  i was able to keep this car for a total of three   days which is i know sounds crazy but i wanted to  wait to get the sunlight that was perfect for some   of these after shots and to be honest i think you  guys can tell that it was definitely worth it i   had a blast detailing myself and i hope you guys  enjoyed seeing some of these higher end cars i   i really enjoy doing something different on this  channel giving you guys different content whether   it's a classic like the last pickup truck i did  whether it's a nasty dirty maggot filled vehicle   or something like this that cost over a  hundred thousand dollars i mean it's just   it's cool to give you guys all of this different  content for you to enjoy and if you're new and   you haven't subscribed hit subscribe down below  head on over to fox clean to pick up any of your   detailing supplies that you guys will need  to get your car cleaned and thank you guys   for being part of the stop for garage crew and  i'll see you in the next video don't be so good you
