First time watching GOODFELLAS (it’s a true story?!)

hey it's Addie and today we are watching Good Fellas hey everyone welcome back to my channel and if you are new here welcome today we are watching Good Fellas and I've been kind of excited to watch this since I watched Wolf of Wall Street and The Departed those are the two Martin Cory films I've seen so far and both of those movies are just so well done so I imagine that that's going to be the case with this movie as well based on the two of those movies I imagine that this one is going to be shocking is going I imagine this is going to have some shocking moments just like those other two movies I also believe this is based on a true story so I don't even know what I'm getting myself into with this movie but I just I just imagine that I'm going to be shocked and also shocked that this something kind of sounded like it flat you better pull over and see yeah hope you have a spare or is there do we have a body in the trunk because that's what it sounds like did they not know that they had a body in the trunk as far back as I could remember I always wanted to be a gangster I've heard that quote I didn't know it came back it came from this movie um what a way to start a movie what in the world I don't know I thought we either ran over something or I thought we had a flat didn't expect that to me being a gangster was better than being president of the United States they weren't like anybody else I mean they did whatever they wanted hey Paulie Paulie might have moved slow but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody good for you paully good for you you have a good day at school today want you tell me about this it's a letter from school says you haven't been there in months months in months you think this B he knew what went on at that CAB stand I can't make any more deliveries you're going to everything out my dad said he's going to kill me that's the guy oh oh we're going to abduct him H fun another from that school oh you're still not going back to the school you're going to go ahead first that was it no more letters from school in fact no more letters from anybody that what Paulie and the organization does is offer protection for people who can't go to the cops they're like the police department for Wise Guys pretty straightforward I guess why why are you doing this at 13 I was making more money than most of the grown-ups in the neighborhood I mean I had more money than I could spend I had it all and yep there it is me the kid Henry when he was first locked up at 11 and he was doing hits for my boss is when he was 16 so he started early say hello to Tommy how you doing Andre he just going to be working together Jimmy you got anything good and when the cops they assigned the whole Army to stop Jimmy what did he do he paid him off he made him Partners okay wow okay so no one's coming after him how many CL you need [ __ ] where' you get those get him out don't worry about it he's just a kid the people of the state of New York versus Henry Hill congratulations here's your graduation thing and more before I got pinched everybody gets pinched but you did it right you told them nothing and they got nothing you did it right you took your first pinch like a man and you learned the two greatest things in life which are never ride on your friends and always keep your mouth shut okay okay we we could do that oh you get Cherry oh my go they all came for him what a supportive little group we have here now he's all grown up I will say that's a great casting of the younger Henry they look so much alike I I kind of wonder if they're related honestly whenever we needed money we robed the airport for us to live any other way was nuts if we wanted something we just took it if anyone complained twice they got hit so bad believe me they never complained again guess you have it all figured out you're living the life from here friends B some money like this coming in it's totally totally untraceable it could be like a half of milk coming in beautiful about the security beautiful beautiful you look at it we're on all right well let's see how it goes he says no you're going to tell me something today tough guy I said all right I'll tell you something go your mother this big prick again he says oh what do you want to tell me now tough guy I said what are you doing here I thought I'd tell you to go your mother sh really funny what you mean you mean the way I talk what oh no oh no he's taking offense he's a big boy he knows what he said what' you say funny how what the so funny about me tell me tell me what's funny what what do you want him to say I I don't I don't I wouldn't know what to say I almost had him okay what do you want this guy's worried about they want to come over and get the check yes your life who knows better than you this suckers an arch criminal Tommy's a bad kid he's a bad seed what am I supposed to do shoot him that won't be a bad idea maybe maybe that is what he wants I just I need help all right help me please you know I'll try to help you all right God bless you P I appreciate it any problems he goes to Paulie trouble with the bill he can go to Paulie now the guy's got to come up with Paulie's money every week no matter what also pully could do anything especially run up bills on the joint's credit and then finally you light a match anything trying to B this girl for a month now the only thing she won't go out with me alone you know unless her girlfriend comes with us I figure you come a ago out with a girl see I know it I'm trying to bang this you want to help me out oh my gosh it is very much on fire oh oh my gosh so much smoke is coming out I couldn't wait to get away I was ordering the dessert when they were eating dinner I had business have some coffee I'll wake you up have you said anything to her all night I couldn't stand him I thought he was really obnoxious that's fair before it was even time to go home he was pushing me into the car and then pulling me out do they end up married I feel like that's where this is going I feel terrible I don't know where he is would I make Tommy take me looking for him oh this is not going to go well nobody does that to me who the hell do you think you are I forgot I thought it was next week it was Friday it was this Friday and you agre so you're a liar wait a second I thought you were going to stand me up you look B you didn't say anything what do you expect yeah it wasn't exactly a great first date maybe this next date will go well yeah like going this way waiting oh they are literally setting up a table for you wow good for you what are you do what what do you do I'm in construction that's it huh that's the one you got the key we walked out with $420,000 without using a gun and you just walked in and out you literally just walked in and walked out I keep forgetting that this is a true story too what hi how you doing okay Bruce how are you okay Henry this is Bruce Bruce this is hitting you with is it the gun okay well he didn't kill you he still might later though hi are you all right are you all right covered in blood I got to admit the truth it turned me on okay MTO oh and then they got married oh we have a little wedding gift oh we are getting a lot of money oh that one was thick he didn't call he's with his friends what kind of a person doesn't call you're here a month and sometimes I know he doesn't come home at all what kind of people are these you don't know where he is you don't know who he's with he's with his friends dad dad what would happen if you had to go to prison you know why Genie's husband went to the can because he wanted to get away from her nobody goes to jail unless they want to come on don't worry so much sweetie I don't know anything about Henry's story but I feel like that's setting up for him to end up in jail by the end of this on detective DC this detective sylvestri get a search warn here for the premise they always wanted to talk to Henry about this or that but mostly they were just looking for a hand out a few bucks to keep things quiet no matter what they and a little puppy some of the wives like Mickey Conway used to curse at them and spit on the floor that never made any sense to me that's fair I wouldn't want to spit on my own floor I'd have to clean it up I wanted to go shopping can I get some money how much do you need how much that much oh we don't even say a number we just say a thickness Tommy all dressed up all grown up and doing the town look at this hey I know you on my life we getting too big on me now don't go busting my Bard Billy okay ball busting Billy I used to call him spit shiny I swear to God I don't shy shoes anymore I haven't seen you in a long time and I'm breaking your balls and you better when you're getting fresh I'm sorry I don't mean to offend you well we are about to fight now go home and get your shine box mother yep yep come on that mother keep him here keep him here sorry Tommy gets a little loaded he doesn't mean any disrespect you don't mean any disrespect Henry are you nuts you insulted him a little bit you got a little out of all you definitely provoked him no I murder was the only way that everybody stayed in line we had a serious problem with Billy bat bat was part of the gambino crew and was considered Untouchable you had to have a sit down and you better get an okay or you'd be the one who got whacked so they didn't get the okay it's kind of a spontaneous murder Saturday night was for wives but Friday night at the cop it was always for the girlfriends oh she's your girlfriend I guess and your wife is home with your children what do you hear about that thing the guy who disappeared up the block from Christie the one they made to be fun oh yeah people are driving everybody crazy looking for him they should leave him whereever the he is nobody knows what happened to him yo we don't know anything about him we got a real problem you know that thing we took care of Upstate we got to get it out of it we got to get out of it oh now we have to dig the body back up oh what condition is this body going to be in oh I bet that's so gross it's a you want to know the answer but still I couldn't hurt him how could I hurt him I couldn't even bring myself to leave him I was still very attracted to him there's that I hope he doesn't end up killing Karen how does it feel huh huh that well it doesn't feel great Karen came to the house she's very upset this is no good you got to straighten this thing up you got to take it easy you got children you have to go home to the family you understand you got to go home I'll straighten this thing out Jimmy and Tommy are going down to Tampa this weekend to pick up something for me you go with Jimmy yeah you come with me we'll go down okay put some distance with this situation she'll never divorce him she'll kill him but she won't divorce yeah believe it you're going to pay just give us the money huh I can't let's go let's go oh we're going to the zoo are you going to feed him to the Lions oh my gosh they must really feed each other to the Lions down there because the guy gave the money right up oh my gosh the guy we roughed up turned out to have a sister working as a typ is for the FBI she gave up everybody Jimmy me even her brother judge gave Jimmy and me 10 years like he was giving away candy get out soon good trip sweetheart oh and he told her the people oh he told her that they only go to jail if they want to be in jail if they want to avoid people oh oh my gosh I thought you were slicing your finger okay okay we're good we're good it really wasn't that bad something that I missed Jimmy he was doing his time in Atlanta but we lived alone we own the joint I was about to say this doesn't exactly look like jail yeah so jail isn't so bad for [Music] you uh-oh I saw her name in the register uh-oh I can't stop people from coming to see me let us sneak this stuff in for you every week let us sneak for you she's sneaking a lot in for you we're on our own forget everybody else forget Paulie as long as he's on Pro doesn't want anybody doing anything believe me in a month we're going to be fine we won't need anybody I don't want to hear a word about her anymore Henry never how me oh four years later okay oh is he out of jail it's not his wife picking him up oh it is his wife I thought it was going to be his little girlfriend just stay away from the garbage you know what I mean why would I want to get into that don't make a jerk out of me just don't do it I want to talk to you about Jimmy you got to watch out for him you know that you're only out early cuz I got you a job and I don't need this heat understand that uhhuh yeah of course I could see that this was a really good business I made $112,000 in my second week all I had to do was every once in a while was tell Sandy that I loved her that's all you had to do gosh as long as I kept getting this stuff from Pittsburgh I knew paully would never find out oh paully is absolutely going to find out way and he warned you about Tommy and not Billy what's his name Department of Probation ah crap I can't remember his name you and Jimmy talk yeah Jimmy that's his name Jimmy and these are the guys that Jimmy put together for what turned out to be the biggest heist in American history even Stax Edwards got in on it that is Samuel L Jackson what I did not know that he was in this movie Mory was driving us nuts just because he set this up he felt he could bust Jimmy's balls for an advance on the money we were going to steal I had everybody working for me even our old babysitter low as bird oh did they have another baby this is the same baby you used last week no that one was my sister this oh oh they did not have a baby this is just a part of the job okay nobody knows for sure just how much was taken in the daring pre-dawn raid the FBI says $2 million Fort Authority police say $4 million the city cops look it looks like a big one maybe the biggest this town has ever seen stay tuned they did it apparently I bought it for my life cool I love that car what did I tell you I have to go buy anything for a while out there everybody's watching Us's are they going to trace it to them because of the car cuz you're going to get us all pinched that's why what are you stupid do the matter with you Jimmy's not happy with you you stupid excuse me excuse and I guess this is probably a new coat don't you look at anybody straight ahead I think he would kill you legitimately I've seen him kill other people Christmas I need the money relax Jimmy I the money relax I'm relaxing I need the money Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy's already in a mood he's in a very bad mood Christmas your share just a little taste Jimmy don't be a moral with the money do what's right you understand yeah of course don't go buying anything expensive I got the most expensive they have I mean I guess we can allow a tree hits Christmas I a ready I know you weren't going to be ready we're supposed to be there by 9 L for your own funeral not Samuel L Jackson that was so much fun oh my gosh I mean it's Tommy I should have expected it Tommy likes to kill people oh my gosh instead of getting rid of the truck like he was supposed to went to his girlfriends and by the time he woke up the cops had found the truck they even said they came up with Prince off the wheel uhoh what happened with st is everything okay don't worry about that I'm sorry well there's nothing to worry about didn't you tell him don't tell him you're going to make him he's going to get B we're going to work for this guy one day he's going to be a boss Jimmy can I talk to you a second he still wants his money Henry I want mying money I had it up there here I want my money Mor you're going to get your money you just got to stop busting balls everything's going to be fine oh he's watching you I don't know if Jimmy's too happy with you I could see for the first time that Jimmy was a nervous wreck think my tolds his wife that's when I knew Jimmy was going to whack Mory sure you bring and he's going to kill him I was just stoling for time all as far as Jimmy knew I was going along with the program forget about t for about okay good Jimmy can I talk to you now so you almost died got on a p bust like you my whole life I guess he still could kill him maybe he just doesn't want Henry to get involved hear about the points we were shaving up with Boston oh terrific yeah like might kill him yep yep yep yep yep yep oh my gosh oh my gosh chop him up give the cop only me when you get through chop him up okay Morris didn't come home he's missing I know something's happened cuz he's dead yeah want me to tell ran off with some fro what do you care about her uhoh oh my gosh Jimmy was cutting every link between himself and the robbery but it had nothing to do with me oh my gosh made him sick to have to turn money over to the guys who stole it he'd rather whack them months after the robbery they were finding bodies all over we have a a body here is it just going to be hanging with the rest of this meat yeah yeah there's the body Jimmy you're killing everyone he was frozen so stiff it took them two days to thaw him out for the autopsy the thing that made Jimmy so happy that morning was that this was the day that Tommy was being made we always called each other Good Fellas you're going to like this guy he's all right he's a good fella he's one of us oh we were Wise Guys I don't think any of you are a good fella not a single one not a single good fella here as far as Jimmy was concerned with Tommy being made was like we were all being made we would now have one of our own as a member oh no oh that was he's gone and we couldn't do nothing about it most of the deaths I could see coming but that one was pretty shocking wack it was revenge for Billy bats and a lot of other things bats was a maid man and Tommy wasn't yeah you shouldn't have killed Billy shouldn't have killed ball busting Billy oh I think they're here for you I was going to be busy all day I had to drop off some guns at jimmies and then I had to pick up some new Pittsburgh stuff for Lowe's to fly down to some customers I had near Atlanta right away I knew he didn't want them I knew I was going to get stuck for the money F what's the matter with you what do we you want me to papay for this St paying for Jimmy was so pissed off he didn't even say goodbye stop with those drugs and making your mind to Mush I can't tell if he's just being paranoid or if he is being followed o ooh o oh that was so close he didn't hit them though now my plan was to drop off my brother at the house and pick up Ken you see that my that helicopter see right there in front of us there still there oh God I see oh is oh it's here damn yeah it's gone I feel like we're going to see it again H he you ready yeah now make sure you leave the house when you make the call call from an outside line I mean it Jesus you must think I'm dumb what are you bugging me for do it so what does she do after she hangs up with me she picks up the phone and calls from the house no it's all unraveling I got to go home what do you mean you got to go home we got to start taping to your leg we got to go soon I got to go home and get my hat your hat we can give you a hat I got to have it it's my lucky hat I never fly without it oh they're going to get caught because she doesn't have her lucky hat that's the only reason what could I do if she insisted I had to drive actually going to get the Hat a hat yeah a hat is this don't but when I heard all the noise I knew they were cops they had been Wise Guys I wouldn't have heard a thing I would have been dead they turned out to be NS they've been on me a month own tap surveillance everything what are we going to make a cake you going to make cake yeah they were just making cakes that's it it's just flower I spoke to Jimmy he offered to give me some money Jimmy and his money I told you I got to get out of here and straighten out everything with Paulie or else I'm dead Karen they could whack me in here just as easy as they can outside maybe even easier they're all afraid I'm going to wrap them out Karen finally got her mother to put her house up for my bell and I was out where's the stuff that I left Karen I flushed it down the toilet yeah that's what she flushed that was worth $60,000 I need that money that's all we got that's all the money that we had Ken I was dependent on that why did you do that yeah yeah this is all Karen's fault uh oh my God why at least we have each other I know I up up up you know I can be trusted now Paul I'm clean on my kids I'm clean You're All I've got and I really really need your help is he going to help you after all of that take this oo that's a a lot of cash now I got to turn my back on ooh 3,200 bucks for a lifetime wasn't even enough to pay for the coffin go hiding I don't want to do that Henry is that what you want if we stay around here we're dead you took too much of that stuff you're totally paranoid how's he doing bust his balls or what he's okay you know what kind of questions they've been asking him they tell you Jimmy I don't know tell him he's got to call me okay listen I got some beautiful di dresses you want to have them pick out a few for yourself no no no no it's over here it's in the store in a corner it's Swag so I got down the corner is he about to kill her oh I think he's going to kill her over here oh he's going to kill you oh I'm just waiting for her to die I'm just waiting for it oh gosh the anticipation Corner oh I oh no no no I don't trust you for a second oh my gosh my heart is racing go ahead right in there no Jimmy I'm in a hurry I'll come back later wo okay she's not dead yet just got scared if you're part of a crew nobody ever tells you that they're going to kill you so I met Jimmy in a crowd of place we both knew I had the feeling Jimmy was trying to sense whether I was going to rat him out to save my neck Jimmy had never asked me to whack somebody before but now he's asking me to go down to Florida and do a hit with Anthony that's when I knew I would never have come back from Florida alive no you would have been whacked what about my parents don't I have some kind kind of contact with them no no I can't leave my parents I'm not going to do this unless you and the kids come with me if he goes into the program forget about it you're in a great deal of danger I think you I know anything I've listened to those wire Taps and I've heard you want a telephone conversation after conversation you're talking to hand on the phone what about the kids with school they they get left back I mean what goes on oh they're getting everyone we're going to save your life we're going to save his life and we're going to keep you out of jail you please please Point him out for the members of the jury honor please let the record reflect that Mr Hill is identified defendant James Conway Paul Cicero yes you see him here in the courtroom today yes and he'll Point him out too to let the rec could reflect that Mr Hill has identified the defendant Paul Cicero see the hardest thing for me was leaving the life anything I wanted was a phone call away and now it's all over and that's the hardest part I have to wait around like everyone else I'm an average nobody get to live the rest of my life like a schnook wait so he really didn't because he oh wait okay Henry H still in the witness protection program he was arrested in Seattle received five years probation they separated after 25 years yeah that makes sense Paul died in prison he was 73 Jimmy is currently serving a 20 years to life sentence not eligible for parole until 2004 oh I'm curious to see aware are they now I mean they might not be alive anymore oh I want to know a 2024 followup oh my gosh I might need to look this up okay yeah I was curious because it said it said at the end of the movie that they remained in the witness protection program until 1987 card also States the hill was arrested on drug charges and given five years of probation yeah movie doesn't explain the exact drug charges to clear things up hill was arrested in Seattle in 198 87 for cocaine trafficking the fact is that hill and his family were kicked out of the witness protection program in 1987 for his drug arrest in Seattle oh my gosh oh this man's life is wild wait okay I'll do more reading after I get off here but it sounds like his life after like the witness protection program was crazy as well what the heck I almost seen a follow-up movie for his life like after Good Fellas ended where like after that I just needed to pick up right after after right where this movie ended oh my gosh honestly so many things happened in this movie that I kept forgetting that this is a true story I mean some of it might have been embellished for a movie so I'm curious to look up more about his life but still this is a true story what the flipping heck this is insane his life is I mean all of their lives are insane oh my gosh I'm kind of surpris I mean it kind of makes sense that he still got in into trouble after after getting into the witness protection program but I'm still kind of surprised that he didn't go to jail during that time I guess because he I guess because he was working with the FBI he had a lot more leniency but still he did a lot of messed up stuff for him to still not go to prison is insane yeah I can't wait to read up more about Henry Hill especially now that I know that he still had a wildlife after this movie after everything we saw in the movie oh my gosh oh where do I even start this movie was shocking I mean I should I think I should just expect that now with Martin Scorsese movies I mean Wolf of Wall Street wild uh The Departed wild shocking Good Fellas literally from start to finish it was a crazy time it was a wild and crazy time I mean it was so smart what a what a fun fun isn't the right word but what a crazy way to start the movie with them driving and then you think that maybe they ran over something maybe a flat tire but no it's just a person who's in the trunk that they thought was dead and then they shoot him a few times and stab him a few times oh my gosh what a what a way to start the movie I mean it just really sets the tone for the rest of the movie because literally just from start to finish this was crazy oh my gosh I did love the music in this I mean so many great 50 60 songs I mean I just love that music that time H so many great songs it was just woven so well throughout the movie I mean the performances of everyone H they're all so good oh my gosh I there are so many twists and turns again it was it's crazy that this is a true story I mean Tommy was killing people left and right Jimmy was killing people left and right Jimmy probably almost killed Henry and Karen oh my gosh so many crazy things happened in this movie so many shocking things but I can't wait to do some research here in a minute I'm going to look up more about this book and just the story because I it's kind of crazy the lives that people live I'm just kind of Blown Away that this is a true story it was it was so wild that I just I don't know I guess I was just so invested and so sucked into the film that I just kept forgetting that it was a true story wow wow wow wow what a crazy movie a wild time from start to finish but I mean Martin Scorsese does it again I mean it was so well done his I mean everything that I've seen of his has been so well done so what a great movie what a wild movie what a wild time well this was good Fellas thank you for watching be
