[Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] after a few days in Baja we found ourselves in garyo negro eating the most amazing fish tacos at Tony's taco truck lots of our friends referred us here and we knew we couldn't miss it he's off the main drag a bit but do yourself a favor and track him down you won't regret serious about these corners wake up oh my gosh I don't like this is a cool Town driving Southeast on Highway 1 we were soon in the historic copper mining town of Santa Rosalia working our way down the busy streets we eventually found parking near the world famous ELO Bakery ready to stock up on some tasty treats there were almost too many options to choose from but somehow Nancy Nar it down to a few Choice peace streets eager to explore the town some more we wandered around with no real Direction avoiding the pitfalls of Mexican towns poking around small alleys and side streets and eating some pretty amazing caring set of tacos at a local Street vend [Music] he [Music] [Music] oh [Music] that is heavy with the Box on top kind of a long day at a Pacifico from Mexican Doritos don't taste like Doritos time to chill out for a bit yep let's go with a video instead set up two different time lapses in two different directions and I've screwed them both up I can't help so here it is maybe just pause it and look at it cuz I can't do time lapses apparently I don't know where to point the camera [Music] mulle is a Desert Oasis town at the mouth of the Rio de Santa Rosalia This Charming Town welcomes you in through a spectacular Arch which honors a battle that took place in 1847 where a small Mexican Army held back a much larger group of attackers in the Mexican-American War needless to say the town's pretty proud of that accomplishment [Music] The Eclectic small shops and colorful flowering trees gave us plenty to look at when we wandered through this small town mul is not like any Town we've been to in Baja so far with the water from the river providing sustenance for a variety of palms and fruit trees to thrive it's easy to see why this area has been inhabited for thousands of years [Music] we headed down the road to Dawn Channel RV park we were to meet our friend Sam and Jay who are kind enough to save us a spot at this popular Camp there we enjoyed hot showers a load of laundry and some great times around the [Music] campfire oh my God think other people know about this place um is this it yes yes holy balls pla Santa back is a popular snowbir destination on the B concepion known for its white sandy beaches and turquoise water this pla boasts two restaurants on the beach and as much privacy as your RV can give you local vendors roam the beaches selling blankets sombreros sunglasses water and really anything you might need you're probably thinking why are they staying there well we ask ourselves the same question how's your bajw campsite it's pretty what else busy crowded huh crowded so um un like us mhm but trying something different fairly quiet fairly yeah but one of these vehicles here not like not like the others it's okay we spent our time at Camp napping playing some sketchy games with scravel and enjoying another magical Baja sunset [Music] [Music] continuing South along Mexico 1 we set our sights on Loretto while doing our best to dodge some pretty cute rad hazards along the way wa hi buddies hi hi [Music] babies [Applause] [Music] [Applause] a after setting up camp with a few other Travelers we wandered the streets in this bustling Town taking in the history and architecture it had to offer we stroll through the plaza under elegantly manicured trees trying to keep an eye out for the next fish taco hit we stumbled upon what looked like a junkyard on one side but a Cozy Restaurant on the other and promptly ordered quatro Tacos de piscato Tacos was exactly what we're looking for and might be to give tony a run for his [Music] [Music] [Music] money [Music] yeah [Music] [Music] San Javier is located about 40 km west of Loretto deep in the rugged Sierra mountain range the main draw for the town is a 300-year-old Catholic mission that is supposedly one of the best preserved in all of [Music] Baja we explored the historic Mission with some trepidation remembering the indigenous peoples did not choose to be converted but rather was forced upon them that being said we appreciated the building for its beautiful artwork and Powerful [Music] architecture behind the mission is a 300-year-old olive tree we're told it's not to be missed Hector a local guide joined us for the tour doing his best to explain the the history of the garden we joined him at his house to meet his kids and check out his cool M's buggy that was one of our favorite parts of the tour meeting his family and having a Spanglish conversation about San [Music] jaier [Music] [Music] I [Music] [Music] oh [Music] like mulah San ignasio is a Desert Oasis Town covered in beautiful palm trees and lush green vegetation after a quick tour of the mission where we spent most of our time with the adorable Church cat we decided to wander the streets of the small town trying to get a feel of what local life is like we like this town a lot and we definitely add into our list explore further in the [Music] future up the Baja 1000 at 8 m hour W get a little seasick before you get to the sea oh my stomach feels weird oh my god well what we're looking for seem to be a bust I don't know there's some new houses or something built and this ends in some really soft sand so we're going to go back to where we started all this an hour ago yeah go back to we definitely know we can have a spot to camp it's going to take us another little bit to get [Music] there Co one what is that it's crazy [Music] on things you do when you smell gas stop stop so we pulled over to shake our rug out with all the sticky ocean sand and we smelled fuel without that's not us we looked it was us I looked underneath there's a little Drip by the starter um there's a fuel line that comes from the fuel filter it's a hard line that then goes into a a rubber soft line that feeds the fuel pressure regulator was leaking from there took it all apart to AFM out throtle body um boot off I nothing was terribly wrong so I just tightened the back up added a third clamp on there and then Rod the hose a little bit and then zip tied it up to keep the tension off of it seems to not be leaking now um but we'll drive down the road again and check it a little bit so yep Baja stuff Baja stuff loose now to clean our mess up [Music] n [Music] these are so cool that's [Music] insane [Music] so we haven't talked on camera I think at all during this video but today we're going to break that because we had quite a Mexico day Nancy was filmed this morning when we had the fuel leak made it up to GE negro thought we'd have cell service like we did last time nope but nothing today we struggled to find Tony's taco truck again but we did we did thank goodness had awesome tacos we ate a lot went to an auto part store to find some extra fuel hose just in case found one at kind of a marine shop the guy was really cool helped us out spoke no English but we figured out together got some extra fuel hose and then we got followed by a federali for a bit we pulled over because we had our van was a mess from tearing it apart from the the fuel leak every time he'd stop I got TI of putting everything away yeah and so right after we passed we pulled over which probably look suspicious to him so he took off went down the road but we could tell he waited we pulled back on the highway and he jumped in behind us and followed us for probably 30 minutes so we went the exact 43 milph that the that the speedometer said we need to go the quietest the van's been the like the whole trip we were just so quiet he pulled over at baj Los Angeles but then he kind of jumped back on the highway again behind another vehicle and then pulled them over and then we just kept going so at 43 miles an hour um yeah so then we're just we're up here camping the cactus uh we're getting close to end of our gas but I think there's gas 70 80 miles up the road I hope but it's been a Mexico day and it's been mexic day but that's okay enjoy ATI and a Pacifico great though we have extensively explored the western parts of the US and Canada Baja was our first taste of true international travel some people said we should be scared they question us for camping by ourselves in Baja they watch the news and heard how dangerous Mexico is only the people that have been to Baja before told us how amazing The Experience would be how kind and resourceful the locals are how the fish tacos will haunt you after you leave you can form your thoughts about the world through the news and other people's fears where you go out and see for yourself traveling with an open mind will change who you are and how you see the people and cultures around you if you allow yourself to do this you will no doubt come back a better human they say only live once but if you live in fear and wha ifs do you ever really live go explore take chances and make [Music] memories [Music] he
