FIRST STOCKPILE YARD SALE OF 2024 / Tips for successful yard sales and how much I made

hello hello hello OMG welcome back to my channel thank you so much for clicking on this video I appreciate you it's jod Dunn and I am coming at you today with my first stockpile sale of 2024 darn excited about it if you are new and you just found me I am so happy that you are here would you please say hello to me and let me know you are new right down there I would love to welcome you to the am going to a citywide yard sale participating with a friend so not in my town and this will be the third year that I have participated in this and it is it has been so awesome so normally I'm bringing you videos on couponing and deals at the drugstores and how to coupon at certain drugstores and rebates and all of that good stuff but I definitely love to share with you when I do a stockpile sale as well if you are a couponer like me where you have a very big passion for it and you really love doing it you probably have an overload of products and this is one way that you can offload some products for me personally I of course provide for my own family I provide for multiple households with lots of different products um I donate and I usually do a stockpile sale one or two a year I used to sell a little bit on Facebook Marketplace but I just don't have time for it or the patience for it it can be very lucrative and I don't sell my products to try to make like a humongous profit there are other couponers that really do this as a side hustle to make some extra income which I think is awesome I don't do it for that so I'm going to go with go through with you some tips and tricks on what I do for stockpile sales um and again I'm just sharing with you what I do you may do things totally different and have great success because this isn't going to be a one-size fit all um the area is definitely going to be a determining Factor on things that you offer uh prices that you have I'm in Michigan if you're in California you're going to charge more for your products than me your cost of living is higher almost all of your products are going to be higher so that just makes sense so you may see some of my pricing and think it's super cheap it works for me do what works for you I love being able to offload extra products that give the community an awesome awesome deal and get rid of my products so I can keep couponing because that's the whole goal it's just a huge passion and I want to keep couponing so we're going to go through um all of the tips and tricks I have for you of course I will share with you my numbers and all of that good stuff and if you enjoyed this video make sure you give it a thumbs up I appreciate you so much let's get to the stock pile sale all right we are at the yard sale I've been here for about 40 minutes I just finally got set up and everything um so let me walk through what I have we did a little bit different setup for me this year they gave me these shelves which is awesome um so I get these boxes from USPS go right on to usps.com it's the post office you can order these boxes they're priority boxes I get the large size and they ship them to you for free so I ordered them last year and I still had some leftovers so that that is what I like to use mostly for um my product it just works really good so I toted all of this stuff from my house here so it's way easier if you can do it from your house but I just put the price on each box so I've got shampoo and conditioner $2 each or two for three I have two boxes I've already sold I don't know I've had four or five customers I have $2 body wash $2 deodorant $2 facial care um I did raise my prices on a few things but not too much I do have $3 deodorant so like my Dove sprays the new doves that we just been getting the vitamin care um I've got some dove men's spray so those are going to be $3 each last year I sold those for two I have $3 body wash which is going to be the Nivea the Olay and the dove I have stylers in this box just $2 I don't do a two for three on those sunscreen I have just a little bit for $3 each hi hi all right it's been over an hour and I've just been slammed with customers so I don't even remember where I was I think I told you the stylers sunscreen I had bar soap for $4 a pack I removed the sign put it over here uh cuz somebody bought all of them wish I would have had more bar soap somebody even asked what kind of bar soap do you have for $4 I sold them all facial care products at $2 and then I've got this laundry setup this is one I used to sell these for $3 each the small ones and then um the large ones if I sold them I sell for seven well we all know we don't get coupons on these except for digital and inflation so I did change them $4 each or two for seven I've already sold all my gain and my pel and then I've sold quite a few of these as well I had a whole bunch of like dawn like small bottles of the squeeze um what else did I have over here I don't know I can't even remember now but only one thing left $3 on these cleaners and Lysol sprays I've Got Hand Soap two for three my regular razors are $3 each are two for five I've actually sold quite a few disposables are $2 each these are the special of the day three for a dollar they're not selling out I wonder why uh I had like dish soap up here Ajax Palm Olive everything over here is either a dollar or less like I have trial and travel size stuff two for a dollar all my Oral Care my shave cream you can see I've already sold this box was completely full um in this area the crest sells Colgate not as much but I have sold quite a bit of Colgate um and then makeup I've sold quite a bit of makeup already so that is how I do oh and then I have this is the only thing that's not marked I have just a hodge podge of medicine things in here or vitamins um $2 each is what I'm selling them for that's the only thing I don't have marked and then feminine care $1 each I've already sold a ton of those all right so another thing about no year area is what type of payment you're going to accept I only accept cash um in this area I know this area uh I used to work in this area it is a small bedroom community it if I was doing a yard sale at my house I would probably accept venmo and maybe cash app I do not need to do that here if you like watching stockpile um sale videos go check out save leaving with K I recently found her Channel she does awesome um Walmart and Target which I don't shop at Target but I love her videos anyways anyway she did a stockpile sale and it was awesome and she um showed how she printed out like the QR codes for the different payment methods and that worked out really well for her I only take cash all right so so far I have already gone through one whole thing of shampoo and conditioner um um I actually had somebody take the whole box which that was fine she asked she filled it up with shampoo conditioner body wash some other things now I did have the $3 body wash over here you can see I've sold a ton of my $2 body wash I do have I think this was the only thing I brought a refill on that's still in the car that I can fill it up I'm going to move this over here because this is what they first see when they walk into to this underground area that I'm in under tent um so maybe people are not noticing those ones as much or maybe they're just buying the $2 either way I've sold a ton of deodorant already um a few of the facial wipes I don't know I sold four of the sunscreen already I don't think I've sold any stylers yet which usually those go quick like I said I sold all of my my gain and per sale is gone um except for the big ones um sold a ton of Oral Care I already told you to that I think like this is all I have to sell for crust I just don't stock up on it enough because I had so much toothpast at one point and I did have a few that expired and so now I just haven't been stocking up on it as much and now I wish I had a whole another box to bring tomorrow cuz I still have tomorrow um and it's only like 11:00 a.m. so we'll get another Rush of traffic so I felt like there was another oh um if you are doing this with somebody helping you I never do I just do it by myself it may be a good idea to price each individual item so that the person helping you knows or maybe it's hard for you to remember I know what the prices are of everything um I just remember numbers like that so there are price guns available on Amazon it's not something I would ever do that seems like a lot of work but it's not going to be a lot of work if you're getting help and somebody needs to know how much prices are um or if it's hard for you to remember what you priced everything at Donna Jean is so funny she was helping me pack stuff up yesterday and I was like we're going to put all the Covergirl B pencils in one bin by itself and I'm going to sell them for super duper cheap and she was like my gosh mom why do you have so many of these do you buy these every time you go to the store was like yes but it actually isn't as much as I thought I mean I have a lot it fills up a whole full box of priority shipping the large size um so anyway she was like if you don't sell these take them back to the store and ask him if they'll buy them for for a penny each from you you know we make money on these every single time so hopefully somebody will buy them this makeup has been selling um even though it doesn't look like it cuz I filled it up but I've probably sold 20 pieces of makeup so far out of here but nothing out of there yet all right so we are about 3 hours in uh out of two boxes this is what I have left for shampoo and conditioner $3 body wash sold some of those this is what I have left for $2 deodorant and this is what I have left for $3 deodorant um the only thing I've sold is maybe like five packs of the facial wipes this is what I have left for $2 body wash but I do have a bag in my car so I'll probably refill that sold some of the stylers I only have three left of the sunscreen all my$ items are gone um only sold a couple of the $3 items sold some more of my tights sold some of the big ones sold some razors have not sold any Covergirl brow almost gone in my crust um this is the first time I think I've brought these they haven't sold yet they're just a dollar each uh so that's where I'm at 3 hours in um I sold all my feminine care that's all gone I got to repack that tomorrow tomorrow um one tip if it's your first time having a garage sale is it is very helpful to have an area for people to set their products down on so when they start like they're back there and they grab like two things I'm always like hey do you want to set that down over here or can I start a bag for you I do bring bags with me um so that I can send them home with a bag and uh I'll keep you updated probably maybe in about an hour I'll give you another update all right here is is the next update so I'm just about out of hair care um sold some more of that about $3 body wash I don't think that I will be able to cuz I'm coming tomorrow I won't be able to really restock anything with deodorant this is pretty much all I have that I'm willing to sell of course I still have some at home um I don't sell things that we use or Grayson uses or my mom things like that so this will be it for deodorant um almost of the $2 one I might have some more axe at home though that I can pack facial products they're just not going it's just crazy like you never know the first year I ever did the sale here I think I had to refill this three times they just went like crazy I did refill the body wash um and have sold a few more I just have the kids sunscreen left sold some of the stylers uh all my big tides are gone I only have three of my big gains left and I do have some of the small tides left couple more hand soaps have sold I've sold normally I sell out of my disposable razors quickly and hardly sell any of the regular razors and this time I've sold I think about 10 boxes of regular razors guess what some lady just bought six of the cover C brow pencils I'm so happy so uh nothing at on the hair color which kind of doesn't surprise me but uh so that is the update I think I have maybe a couple more hours left it's getting to be I think it's around 1 maybe right now um so we'll probably see a little bit of a Slowdown although this is a townwide sale so there's a lot of people out right now you know garage sailing um but I'm sure once people get out of work we'll see a little bit of an uptick so hopefully I can get rid of the rest of the laundry I don't have a lot more to bring again I don't sell anything that we use like I don't sell tide pots cuz Grayson and I both use those um I don't sell paper products if you have paper products to sell those are big ticket items you can make a lot of money selling things like that um I only coupon for paper products that we need my mom needs Grayson needs so I don't sell any of that so all right I'll come back with another update in a little while all right I'll give you the last update probably before um it's getting towards the end of the day that's I have two little lonely hair cars left few of the $3 body washes few of the $2 um deodorants I have quite a bit but I've sold quite a bit of the $3 deodorants sold some more facial care so that was nice one little lonely sunscreen uh laundry I think I sold one more um but it's stayed the same just about time for people to be getting out of work so we might get a little rush oh my sign is falling down um sold quite a few razors uh just sold another three of the cover curl pencils sold a few of the travel and trial um sold more makeup one little lonely crust left did sell some Colgate sold none of those so I will be back for end of the first day of the yard sale and I will give you my totals oh I forgot to show you this stuff I sold quite a bit of this stuff this was jam packed full and then I moved these up here just cuz the sun was glaring over there so that's what I have left in the $2 body wash and the $2 stylers all right I am finished with day one of the yard sale it actually goes all weekend I probably will only participate tomorrow um another tip that I do have for you if you're going to do a yard sale especially at your own house um I would do it for half a day honestly I find every yard sale that I've ever done really Peters out by noon or 1:00 so if I was just doing this at my house it would have been like an 8 to 12 or an 8 to 1230 type of situation they're going until 6:00 I left about 4:30 um traffic just slowed down of course it might pick up again you know from people getting off of work at 5:00 but I've already been standing out in the sun all day I mean I had a canopy covering me so that was awesome but um it it went really well my busiest time was in the morning until about 12:30 so let's count we will count the money together I told you earlier in the video saving um with k had done a stockpile sale like it's been a couple weeks ago now and she counted the money and I thought that was so fun I'm not going to count this I got paid in $2 bills by two people which was kind of funny to me but I have $14 in $2 bills and then I got a bunch of on so I have $51 right here between my twos and my ones but let's call the rest of the money together close my window all right ready I I don't know how to do this so you can even see 51 can you even see that 50 70 90 210 230 250 270 290 310 330 350 37390 410 uh 430 50 70 90 510 30 50 70 990 61 30 50 70 90 7 10 20 30 40 50 60 7085 so I have 785 + 51 which is 836 I think so $836 was what I made on day one that is awesome that would be so awesome if I can repeat the same like 800 bucks tomorrow that would be awesome I'm not going to stay as late tomorrow for sure um because it's not a normal work day so I don't know I won't leave at noon or 1 but I will leave in the afternoon maybe around 2 or3 tomorrow but we will see cuz like I said I don't have as many products to take tomorrow um my laundry is real low I did have a little bit of Tide left um I hardly have any gain left at home that I'm willing to sell um but I'll bring some other products so I'll probably post a video tomorrow so that's going to be it for this video highly highly encourage you to have a stockpile sale if you want to and if you've been thinking about doing it even if it's on a smaller scale do it for three or 4 hours set up what you have I mean if you want to get rid of product it is a great way to give the community a great deal oh I did also want to tell you I always cover this in every stockpile video that I do because I know this could happen to you or maybe does happen to you um it's only happened to me with one person in this Citywide sale the last two years in a row where they asked for a cheaper deal um when I did a stock P sale in M my town I had a lot of people ask me for a cheaper deal I don't ever get mad at that because people are going to a yard sale they that's just common practice that you ask for a lower deal um than maybe what the person has I don't get mad at it I simply tell them nope my prices are what my prices are and I don't go down on these prices I even had one guy ask me twice he's like well you've got a deal on the smaller ones and I said but it's actually a better deal for you to buy the bigger ones because of the ounces I said no he was like what's the best you can do on this and I go the price is what the price is you can go to the store and pay full price plus tax this is a better deal so it's totally up to you and and I told him when he asked me a second time I said no again I'm sorry I don't do any deals I'll sell these at this price for sure you can do deals if you want to if you have somebody that offers it you're wanting to get rid of the product and you think it's a fair price I'm just telling you I don't and I never get mad at people asking because I know that's common practice in a yard sale so all right there you go I hope this video was helpful please share with me if you are planning to do a stockpile sale or or if you've
