want to prime it again did I there's no way I plummed anything backwards there's no way you PL anything backwards there's no way uh I called Peterson for the pump in and pump out through the filter that [ __ ] had no oil pressure for how long I don't know trust me it didn't hurt it it's got of oil moving through it did it sound good I had these on it was loud yeah it started up pretty fast yeah gas not not Devin's cold start tuneup I can assure you that that was a Scott cold start tuneup for sure does your methanol cars have trouble firing gasoline put about 8 oz of [ __ ] 93 in them got we need a rag and some uh we have to have some a in right you want to take those off I don't have any idea yet okay do you want uh here's a primer I didn't Plum the oil system you did yeah I did that so that that pump is hold on hold on let me turn the Hol on so doesn't that cam sink go down and spin the oil pump no oil pumps yes the drives oil P it have pressure doing that y 100 lb yep 100 lb so I wonder if the pump just didn't have enough oil in the pump okay so real quick side note yeah disregard the fact that we didn't have oil pressure yeah it sounded badass did I it sounded muffled did thing got a on the phone said the the neighbor said the it sounded badass uh so her teeth are rattling and uh did she say and it fired pretty damn fast you know what I and I do want to say oh look at that [ __ ] don't worry about that that's just a little bit of good there you know what I mean uh do you want want to Hype up your methanol cold start tuneup or or or the 93 me3 well first off it would I think it would have fired without that we won't know ever because every time Scott be hosing it down like we're back in '94 I'm still I'm being conceive you have the glasses yeah you have the something going I was just kind of astonished that it all ran so what what I want to do now is make sure there's no ignition on but we need to spin it with the starter and see if we can build o pressure with starter oh like if we can turn the injectors off well no it's an ignition and everything you got to turn all of it off well you want to turn it all off we won't be able to see if we actually have oil pressure yeah so just just we just do the clear flood yeah just clear flood it and I'll crank it all right what happens next is very interesting I've been arguing with Devon I like to have the injectors on a second switch but I told him to make it simple so the injectors and the Holly and the coils and everything are all in one switch so I go in there and I just give Devon a hard time about it if you hold it wide open 100% throttle I think it's ear 50 or over it goes into clear flood and the injectors don't fire but screw blown Hemi it's got fuel in the blower still so the coils are on and he holds It Wide Open just to turn it over uh which like on a on a l like turbo EFI if the injectors are off it won't fire well this a little bit different cuz that blower is just holding Fuel and you're about to see what happens [Applause] it had some fuel left in it my damn that shit's louder without the damn your protection did it give any oil pressure yeah oh yeah she made o pressure yeah it made a little bit of oil pressure but now now the question is is uh honestly [ __ ] your cold start tune up gasoline to the front baby go yeah hey hey hold on I just want to say this well [ __ ] my argument doesn't even stand it's completely invalid yeah so are you sure that you have the oil pump right we won I mean it just made old pump yeah but it only made like two or three pounds but did it come up shut off for while RPM definitely came up RPM definitely came up um are you still recording yeah nobody told me to stop no this is going to be fire this is great here's here's what I I'm not worried about if we're going to start it up if oil pressure don't come up okay hold on so first off this oil pump is leaking yes it is leaking off the bottom now now just riddle me this okay I called Peterson and asked them which one is the feed right cuz this is directional right so which one is the feed and which one's not and then it's got to pick up from the pan so this is the pi up it has to be this this part of it is plummed correctly cuz it's picking up and it's pum these two even if they're switched though it'll just go the opposite way through the which would make no which would make no pressure yes it just goes the opposite way through the filter if you do that yeah but then it would yeah but there's a check valve in these filters yes that's I mean so it would have no oil pressure you want me call Peterson again who makes that pump Peters uh rcd or system one rcd still recording yes yeah this is good this is real life people so something's pissing yeah the oil pump is pissing oil and that's the pickup the pump that could be anything that's probably not tight do you think I I plummed it backwards probably and then that's why the pump's making so much pressure cuz it's deadheading probably I I hate that the first thing I said was there's no way I could have plummed it I called them I see paper tow quick I don't even know if we have that on video so it probably didn't even happen he just said it now so what's leaking is just this cap right here is that all that is okay so that you think he leaking 100 lounds of pressure or no probably not Scott it ain't loose enough to be like you wouldn't think I mean I'll go get a wrench but now the question is though here is that which one is the pickup to me it would assume that if the pump is in here spinning so in the front which means it spins counterclockwise right which would mean that this here should be your here's your pickup back here this is your feed and it feeds oil pressure straight through in other words if you don't have this filter on it you think so yeah if you have if you don't have a filter on it you just put a loop on it well here's a simple fix we crack it free and we just crank the motor over with the ignition and everything off and we see which pukes oil out and whichever pukes oil out that's our terrible idea right terrible idea so here I'm sorry you're good I just trying to keep it off your drive no I know he's already ruined it don't worry it'll be on his bill um 35% um okay so shout out to HCR inovations everything works it fired up it runs even here's other thing that that the reason I say it's right this pickup coming straight from the pan work this Peterson pump has an output here and it's feeding the motor cuz you're seeing it back there right I I just didn't know if we had if if maybe these were flopped yeah cuz I don't know nothing about this you know what I mean yeah that's a that's an output for feeding the rocker system right it makes sense that anything 10pt port makes sense to feed you know up in the do cover so if we can whiz it over and get oil pressure we just need to get all [ __ ] the goopy air out of pump yeah all ready [Music] yeah two pound made two PB should made more than that classic is this oil pump used yeah I mean the motor used I bought I understand the motor's used but I didn't know if maybe you had the oil pump gone through or or something no I did not okay I have a faith in humanity is it sets at zero right now and then goes up to 2 lb y yep spin it again I think our starter's D our batter's thing in gear go 50 ride the brakes what it have on the drill about 4050 lb 60 lb with it running went with it yeah as soon as you pulled that [ __ ] off yep yeah well I mean very well could just be the drive not you know what I mean well it drives like a forward so right right so hey uh um note to self and just need to record this this needs to be set at 195 before top dead center on the compression stroke on the falling Edge so when you pull if you pull this off you'll see that I put a new magnet and stuff in there and we did a bunch of [ __ ] there and I set the Gap the gap's good so just don't take the just don't adjust that but you know what I'm saying it's super easy to do because this is indexable like all you just [ __ ] move the cap yeah you know what I mean all I'm going
