And after? I don't understand the plan Things I put her through, hey. Don't worry
sweetheart, we're gonna put you right up Good morning Internet, it is.. I think it's eight o'clock in the morning. I don't know my phone died And I can't charge it anywhere. Anyway, welcome back to the channel Welcome here in the Indio Maiz reserve, here in Nicaragua right here at the River Indio. I just finished a morning bathing session here at the river. Look how nice and quiet everything is here Plan for today is to go back to San Juan de.. de Nicaragua And then well I'm going to try to find my way to Bluefields, but that's a whole another story that I'll tell you but for now I think breakfast first Oh, you have them right here
- Yeah, one right here, I think That's a very clever shrimp trap And then you can open it
- Here That's genius. Oh yeah, I can see
it.. it goes smaller to the end.. yeah I didn't know that shrimp liked coconut That's bait food
- Yeah. - Shrimp's food Did Paul bring those?
- Yeah That's a small one So we're working on getting our breakfast.
I'm just going to open up a coconut Or well, maybe Santo is going to open a coconut. And so this is one of the shrimp traps that they have This one was empty but his brother already
went to another trap and he got three so all of us have one shrimp for breakfast as well Try to open it Maybe you could open it with your finger
- Oh yeah. Oh yeah So good
- Good? - Very good So this is for breakfast. This is some fried
plantain that we picked yesterday and then I also already showed the rice fields and then this is river shrimp that we caught this morning Oh wow
- You see? - Yeah You see this one. This place.. this only honey Look at this one Yeah, immediately the honey comes out.. yeah Really sweet Oeh, yeah That is like pow That hits you That is.. super, super sweet It's very intense honey The time has come.. we are leaving going back to San Juan Wild pigs are very close What's happening? Hunting? They are fighting? They're smelling us
- Oh, they smell us And then they run away?
- Yeah, they run away And we're back..at Doña Martha Okay, so this is quite a typical situation. I've
been waiting a few days around here looking for a boat that can take me to Bluefields but it was bad weather and I couldn't find a boat so I'm just waiting around and things are moving really slowly and suddenly I have found a boat there is a window of good weather so now I have to go, go, go. So I'm quickly going to explain what the plan is I have just already quickly packed and then I'm going to find a boat and we're off but let me quickly show you where I am and where I'm going. So I'm now right here in San Juan Nicaragua and the plan is to go to Bluefields and that is
the whole reason why I brought Alaska with me because there is no road over here and obviously there was no road over here, so if I would have left Alaska here, I would have had to take the boat in and out and to get to Bluefields you can only also only go in and out the same way. So that's why I had the whole plan of bringing Alaska and then making a circle like that. So that's why I did this. So now today, I'm going to try to go with the boat all the way here to Bluefields. It's going to be about five hours sailing. Um, so it's quite a quite a bit of a journey but the boat that I found is
actually bigger than any of the boats that I found to cross.. to get around the Darian gap so hopefully this is going to be fine. Yeah, let's hope so Yes, I'm going now! Thank you! Very good. Thank you for everything. All the help. Thank you Bye!
- Good luck! Off we go Oh, I'm so happy I found this boat. Because it was not so easy, I have to say There used to be a boat service running to and from Bluefields Um. .and that's how I got the idea to kind of try this route But that boat service stopped, it's not running anymore So then my plan B was I actually contacted
the dredging company. Remember here on the Rio San Juan, I saw those dredgers and I was thinking they must get fuel from Bluefields Because on the riverboat how I came, they were carrying some fuel but not a lot so I was thinking they must do like their bunkering through
Bluefields and that turns out to be the case So they get a fuel with a tugboat from Bluefield's. So I thought maybe I can go on the tug but.. ..The tug is actually currently in Bluefields and then there was bad weather, so then it didn't run So I was thinking.. ah what to do? Maybe I
should.. I do need to go back via the river And then this morning, suddenly this option popped up so.. .. It kind of came as a really pleasant surprise and it looks like a proper good boat so Alright, goodbye San Juan de Nicaragua.
I think the guys from the boat are now.. .. buying the fuel and I think trying to get the permission to leave This uh.. I have to admit this town, is a hot spot for drug trafficking Well, almost any town I think on the Caribbean side. So yeah there's some military and stuff Hi Good morning! I'm leaving now
- You are going? - Yes Buy something nice from me to take to your country! But I'm not going back to my country. I'm still traveling North until Alaska
- Alaska? Alaska.. North, north It's cold there
- Cold Morning
- How's your morning? - Good. How are you? Good Good Okay They don't want us to go.. until tomorrow
- What? Until tomorrow morning we can't go.. we need to get a permit, to leave.. and And the man.. the military.. says we can't go until tomorrow The waves are low, but he says.. waiting until tomorrow And we can't go without this permit But the permit only depends on the weather? Or something else? No.. yes, depending on the weather.
And the weather is already calm but it looks like it's better tomorrow You think so too? Tomorrow it's better the weather?
- Yes, better tomorrow in any case, when they say no, we can't go But we can already put my bike and everything, so it's ready for tomorrow In the boat?
- Yes No.. well, I don't know.. but You're going today?
- No, I'm not going out Because if not.. we can already put the motorcycle and everything, and then tomorrow early.. we go Also.. yes, we can place it, and leave it in the boat We can do this so that tomorrow early we can go
- Yes Nobody will steal this one So we do this Gentle.. gentle And after? I don't understand the plan Only, if you use this on top.. that doesn't work, because the suspension.. it will move You have to do it low False alarm. As you can see all my stuff,
is kind of dumped back here at doña Martha We didn't get permission from well.. what would it be the port authorities.. I think they are To leave, the weather seems to be good here but out there apparently not or I think they communicate with the authorities of Bluefield and they're not giving us permission to go.. um So I think we must respect that 'cause, yeah that will mean that the conditions are really rough out Um.. so yeah we're gonna try again tomorrow morning, around six. Um, so I said.. okay let's at least load Alaska then we don't have to do that again tomorrow morning. So Alaska is now already on the boat and me and my stuff are back here for another night, and then tomorrow we're gonna try again This time we got permission, so we are off. Um.. those clouds in a distance don't look very good but.. ..the weather is supposed to be.. supposed to be good today so Let's see, I think it's about four to five hours to get to Bluefields so Let's see Poor Alaska's side stand is broken She wasn't leaning on the side stand actually, we should have just kept it in. I don't know why it was out It wasn't doing anything. Um, but we hit a big wave and then there went her side stand Poor Alaska
- Poor Alaska Poor Alaska Poor dear Yeah that happens sometimes. I'm gonna
have to find a welder in Bluefields I'm now in a place called El Bluff, which is
kind of on the peninsula, opposite Bluefields So we're almost there, it's now 10:15. So it has been another rough ride, but all good so far and we just stopped here, because there's another military check post here and here we need to get permission to enter Bluefields, I think
so.. just waiting for that and then there we go Okay, we got the permission. So off we go again. I think Bluefields is.. .. just on the other side over there. Over there, you can already see it so it's very close now Alright, we are in Bluefields and um.. I'm first going to the ATM because I didn't actually have enough cash on me to pay for the passage. In San Juan, there was no ATM. But they trusted me enough to bring me here, so now I'm first going to
get some money. Um, while they are going to get Alaska out of the boat. Again maybe it's
better, that I don't see. I told them remember the side stand's broken so you can't put her
anywhere. But they were like no that's fine so Let's see.. money first and then I'm gonna find a welder to get the side stand sorted She is inside here? Ah, here she is! This is part of the.. yes Everything good? No problem? Okay, great thanks so much So it's typical, I come back from the
ATM with the money and Alaska is gone But they already brought Alaska to a welder, so he's now going to fix up the side stand I'm just going to take all my stuff there as well It's, I think it's.. it's bent also, a little bit She got here when.. when, she went to this here.. it's coming here and from here
- Yeah, yeah you can see but uh it's yeah.. * Inaudible* The things I put her through, hey? Don't worry sweetheart, we're going to put
you right up. Actually this is the second side stand that I managed to break. I broke one on my Royal Enfield as well, back somewhere in South America, I think where did it happen? Argentina or Chile. Back then I was too embarrassed to film it So I don't think I ever.. ever shared that,
but there also broke.. broke side stands And now I did it again.. completely different
way, but um yeah, that's just how it goes hey Especially given all the ordeals that I'm putting her through, then it's not really surprising that something breaks sometimes. The Columbia to Panama passage, this got dent a little bit and this glass is broken. So I think all the.. all the damages so far, they have all been caused by crossings on sea So I think that's a sign for me to stick to the
road for now. I'm actually really excited to start riding again, I've really missed it. I've
just been sitting on boats the whole week. Um.. so yeah Oeh Good Go rest your body!
- I will.. thank you Bye! Alright, um.. that took quite a little bit of time, getting the spring on was actually quite difficult Erm.. it's not 100 % perfect, but for now I have a side stand. I'm just so.. I just really want to hit the road, to be honest, and go. But um.. I didn't have a breakfast, I didn't have a lunch And uh.. I really need to wash Alaska, because even though it wasn't a lot of spray just being out in the.. on the sea with just the salt is already in the air.. you know so, I need to give her a proper wash Um.. So I decided to just stay the night here, get some rest And uh.. and in my next ride, I can make it like, a proper ride I want to ride like, more than 400 kilometers
to the next place This is one way? I don't know Okay, I found something with parking..
safe parking. It's not so easy to find At the end? Yeah I found a place and this is my room for tonight So that's all fine. I am.. the only thing, I'm going to do now is.. .. take Alaska out and find a car wash place.. where I can hose her down, just to be on the safe side and check her over a little bit, she got a little bit
of a beating. Em, but yeah that.. yeah, that's it then And then in the next video, I'm finally.. whoop.. back on the road. I cannot wait to really ride again Really looking forward, I've missed it. Um so yeah, that was it for today, really hope you like this video If you did, please give a big thumbs up. Subscribe down below and then I'll see in the next video
