today we're taking a first look at the tyrant designs of tea cop for your Glock handgun [Music] adding a compensator to your Glock handgun has grown in popularity in the last couple of years particularly when adding a compensator on a Glock 19 as shown here to bring the overall slide length to about the length of a 34 it's been a really popular configuration lately well the growing number of compensators that are coming available to the market today have added to one we're taking a first look at the t comp from tyrant designs which is hoping to be a worthwhile entry into that market hi guys my name is Dave Tim thank you very much for checking out this video to learn more about us and to keep track of all of our content make sure you're visiting our web page regularly that is guns and tactics calm and be sure to subscribe to all of our social media outlets so you can stay up-to-date on all of our content and as always we would sincerely appreciate it if you hit the subscribe button and subscribe to our channels so you know we can keep growing and doing more cool things like this so here is the T comp from tyrant designs and it's a two piece it as a stem which is actually available in different colors and it has the compensator here now what is kind of cool about the design is that the ports here travel all around the stem so we don't have to worry about timing the ports to the comp when we install it and actually installation is really simple which I'll show you here in just a second so what you get in the box for $90 is the selling price as you get the whole system plus you get a bag of these o-rings and wrench included which I'll show you what they do here in just a second so what the comp hopes to obviously improve is the shoot ability and felt recoil of the gun now one thing to note with compensators in general on handguns is if you're going to put a comp on a handgun you need to make sure you're using ammunition that is not the wimpiest cheapest stuff out there the compensator needs energy to dissipate in order to work so sometimes if you're going to be using the cheapest 115 green you might not notice really any performance gain by the comp with your gun so we're gonna try it with a variety of amyl including the cheap stuff just to make sure it doesn't impede functioning because I've seen some comps on the market when you put cheap amyl in that added weight can induce stoppages which is a bad thing and we also want to make sure that it actually compensates on some of the heavier stuff as well so we'll give that a try we have to Glock 19's here both Jen for one obviously just has a red dot but we're going to kind of have our control so let's put it on the one with the red dot obviously make sure your firearm is unloaded there's no ammunition and go ahead and put in your threaded barrel in this case I have a kkm versus the stockpile all these different old rings serve a purpose and they come with extra so don't think that you're gonna use them all but this thicker diameter over in here goes on the barrel so we're gonna install that on the barrel so it goes all the way down to the shoulder of the barrel at the end of the threads and then and this thinner o-ring will go on the stem all the way down into this groove here so once the o-rings are installed on the barrel and the stem you're good to go now we're going to take the cop and go ahead and put that on and you'll note that there is a front in the back this opening here can kind of think of that as for your clearance for your guide rod whereas the front of it is flat so put it on like so insert the stem and just start to hand tighten until snug now one thing to note on my particular barrel because the threads are extended out a little bit more there is this gap this is the only threaded 19 barrel that I have around some of the other ones actually have the threads closer to the slide so keep that in mind if you're looking to add a comp depending on the length of the barrel that you will be going with so we'll just see how it works anyway but now that I have it snug I'm gonna make sure it is in alignment and then I'm gonna use the included wrench to tighten it and again I don't have to worry about timing and I can you know kind of feel the comp tightening against those o-rings so I'm just gonna hold it in place and continue to tight until snug they say in the directions which there's an install video on their way that you don't need to apply a ton of torque we're just gonna snug until the comp is secured in place and doesn't move and I'm just gonna verify alignment and do my final tightening and no set screws are required so because of those o-rings and the design they say that this will stay really solid looks snug looks in alignment so so it's sunk and it is aligned I do have some ports that actually kind of worked out pretty good for timing you can see that I do have the ports there and because that stem has ports all around it you don't need to worry about timing so it doesn't matter you're gonna get the same amount of port exhaust regardless of the position and it is the same width so it should fit in like a Glock 34 type holster or an open you know bottom holster or whatever so let's go shoot chin check with some cheap one 15 ball functions just fine recoil is pretty comparable but let's just do a quick comparison to the stock Glock and know loosening so that's a good sign maybe actually just a hair difference with that so let's load up some more powerful ammo and see if we can tell the difference 147 Green yeah definitely a little bit softer impulse that I felt in the hand with the 147 let's try some plus P federal HST 147-grain plus P with the stock Glock definitely a salt difference in recoil muzzle rise you know it's a little bit different looking at a dot versus the front sight but there's definitely less snap with the t comp on the HS t plus be quick function test with some of the cheapest of the cheap wolf poly formants 115 steel so it cycled the wolf just fine so that's good let's see what else I got in the bag all right we're gonna base line with the Winchester 147 Green Ranger le round for more information about the T comp from tyrant designs you can go ahead and type in tyrant designs t comp into the search engine of your choice that'll bring your their webpage due to social media policies we can't post links to certain gun sites however we will also tag them in social media where applicable so you should be able to find them easy enough this again is just a first look not a full review but throughout the day I'm shooting just a couple drills I probably shot 150 rounds and it's not loose at all which is nice and it's cycled with every type of ammunition that I went through from the cheapest of wolf to some 147 HST + P now it did tame the higher pressure rounds a little bit more like when our shooting wolf between the two I couldn't tell the difference when I'm shooting winchester white-box I really couldn't tell much of a difference maybe just a hair but where I could actually feel a little bit in the wrist in the the gun was with those 147 grains 124 + p 147 + p so you have to kind of keep that in mind with the comp but for a first look at functions find it did its job now for a full review I'm actually sending this off to my friend chris tran who's also a content creator for guns and tactics so he's gonna have a full review coming up so again make sure you're following us online for that article when it comes out this year thank you guys very
