FIRST CLASS TRAIN TO SWITZERLAND (traveling Europe in 2021)

executive class is crazy there's a ridiculous amount of space it wouldn't be a true travel day without at least one sprint so we're in switzerland i think we're supposed to catch a bus from here but our train's 30 minutes late and that bus is already gone it's like we've never done this before [Music] tomorrow morning we are hopping on a first-class train to switzerland but it just felt so wrong to leave our favorite place in the world without at least giving you a glimpse of what we've been up to for the past week if you don't really care what we've been doing for the last week and you just came for the trains you can skip to the four and a half minute mark our friends bob and gina live on a beautiful vineyard in italy this has been the place over the past few years that we've come to rest relax and recharge wow here's what our daily routine has been for the last eight days i think you'll see why we love this place so much [Applause] i've probably walked out that door over a hundred times in the past three years and this view never gets old you uh no it's cup number two because she's not in bed we've actually been really productive this week but it almost doesn't even feel like work when you're sitting somewhere this beautiful it kind of feels like we're cheating life right now for lunch gina always cooks us something delicious but instead i'm giving her a little break today and i am cooking one of my favorite things coconut curry chickpea beautifulness bon appetito that's perfect really good after lunch we typically come up with an excuse to go take a ride on the vet spot most of the time that excuse is to get gelato grazie don't melt why has a ball stressing me out you see how bad my farmers did this we haven't exactly been making the healthiest eating decisions this week so we've been trying to work out every afternoon you know just to like make sure we feel a little better i'm not really feeling much better about this that's a weird noise you can get my side profile do it nate push your hips right back towards the wall behind you i think she's worried about it i'm currently obsessed with this girl named lindsay she has a workout youtube channel called nourishment love normally i do them while nate goes on a run but today i'd rather run 10 miles and do that again i'm working on my inner thighs so many people say oh you have such nice inner thighs shortly before the sunset bob whips up some italian cocktails and we slowly sip on those as we watch the sun disappear behind the mountain cheers thank you obviously we love it here because of the delicious food and wine and the views but you can find all of those things in a lot of other places too the reason we keep coming back here is because of the people we were complete strangers a few years ago but now bob and gina are like family to us and we lovingly refer to them as our italian parents who we love so much maybe we'll tell that full story one day so yeah some version of that is what we've done every single day for the past week it is always so hard to pull ourselves away from this place but yesterday i booked tickets and tomorrow we leave good morning today we are hopefully going to switzerland i say hopefully because as countries start to open up to tourists a lot of stuff is changing really quickly especially in terms of the documentation you need to get into another country so yesterday i filled out a swiss entry form i also have my cdc vaccination card which shows that i'm fully vaccinated and i think those two things should be enough to on the train and now we're on our way to bologna from bologna we'll connect to another train that'll take us to milan and then from there we'll connect to our final train that'll take us down our lock-in the really fun thing about today's journey is we're writing in three different classes this is business class then we'll upgrade to executive class and then finally we'll try out swiss first thank you what in the world they gave us goodie bags i mean it's heavy we have orange juice almonds sesame crackers chocolate chip cookies bubbly water regular water alcohol wipe and uh elephant safety kit smells very nice this train is so much fancier than i thought it was gonna be the seats are giant comfortable there are outlets free fast wi-fi and this is the lowest of the three classes that we're taking today so it's just gonna get better from here we are now arriving on time thank you for traveling with clementala yeah oh my goodness sorry two and a half hours later we have arrived in bologna we have 20 minutes to catch our next train this is the one that's taking us to milan and it's the one i've been most excited about well it wouldn't be a true travel day without at least one sprint to catch something there's an entire conference center in executive class executive class is crazy this is basically equivalent to business class in an airplane except the seat doesn't lay all the way flat it's like they put eight recliners in a train car and then a conference room on the back half in all honesty it's kind of ridiculous that we paid for these tickets because it cost 150 euros for a one-hour train ride from bologna to milan there's even buttons for the windows see what's in here chocolate chip cookie muffin croissant cold bubbly water it's like the italian version of a fake new an entire club sandwich and orange juice it's so fun yeah we have a nice view the only reason i'm a little disappointed right now is because the pictures that i saw online the train was gold but this is not bad i still cannot get over the fact that there is a conference room on a train i mean i guess if you have a really important business meeting they can't wait until you get to your destination this is where you have it we don't belong up here do anything this is one of the most beautiful train stations i've ever seen let's go check out the restroom this feels exactly like an airplane bathroom maybe a little bit bigger water so pan dryer hand sanitizer i should have brought my razor gosh it's been so long since i've done a bathroom tour on a mode of bathroom tour thanks wanna shut a little tear [Music] well by way too quickly bye executive class [Music] we're back we made it to milan okay we have five hours before we have to catch our next train so we're gonna go put our bags in storage and try to make the most of our time here i think number two so because we booked an executive ticket we had access to this fancy lounge with free food and snacks so i'm going to enjoy this double espresso before we head into the city okay we've told this story before so i won't go into too many details but the first time nate and i ever stepped inside of europe was in milan and i just remember coming up into this train station and being in total awe of just how european and this is just the train station we have very fond memories here i'm very excited ciao all right we're ready to go this is so fun so picture this it's our first time in europe the only place we've been so far is the airport and the train station so our first time coming up onto the streets this is what we see how good is that it's even better than i remember it's probably why we fell in love with travel coming up into the square with the duomo it's like all of your european dreams come true instantly and it's why we fell in love with italy it feels so good to be back this is such a beautiful city i didn't realize that i was gonna be this happy to be back here i knew it was amazing the first time we came but like there was so much newness it was the first place we ever visited of course but it's actually amazing i can't remember why you're supposed to put your heel in the bull's crotch but it's a thing to do here i cannot believe for my last meal in italy i'm not getting pasta wow that was fast wow indeed but in milan you're supposed to get risotto the saffron this one has lemon prosecco and mint which sounds weird and wonderful at the exact same time it's so good this is absolutely incredible i'm so happy this is crazy italy has only recently opened back up to tourists and when we were in rome last week it felt like we practically had the place all to ourselves i was hoping that would be the case here in milan today and we are one of a handful of tourists walking around this church right now [Music] last time we were in the line i was way too cheap to pay for tickets to go to the top of the duomo it is 20 euros to take a lift to the top but it's only 15 to take the stairs so we're getting a little exercise and saving five euros it's not as cheap as it used to be we still do oh we made it wow this is actually pretty great if you're only going to be in milan once it's worth paying to go on the roof all of these ornate structures on the roof are probably the most impressive part of the church anyway and so to be able to be up here close to him and to get some incredible views of the city maybe i was wrong the first time yeah i mean you pretty much have access to the entire top of the church when you're up here also just look how many people are up here with us right now never thought i'd do that on top of a trip all right we have one hour until our train leaves so we will see you at the train station all right let's go to switzerland last train of the day let's hope we have all the documents we need to get into switzerland ladies and gentlemen please note that masks must be worn on public transport so not complaining but if we're comparing the three trains we've been on today swiss first class is probably the least impressive of the three but i do like the setup and how we get to sit at this table across from each other so all the food was included in our italian train tickets but the swiss train has a separate restaurant car which is close so the only option is to buy snacks and bring them back to your seat good thing i saw plenty of leftover snacks for reverse two trains it's cold so we're in switzerland and a couple interesting things about that train ride none of our documents got checked nothing we're just here didn't even look at our tickets also we are not in interlocking i took a closer look at our ticket and the train only takes us to speech speed speeds and uh i think we're supposed to catch a bus from here but our train's 30 minutes late and that bus is already gone and it's like we've never done this before oh this train has some interesting mood lights um i love switzerland the train pulled up the train guy got off and we were like what do we do our bus isn't here and he was like you're going to interlochen and we're like yeah and he's like this is the train to interlock and get on then you put my bag up here and here we are i don't know if that's how it's actually supposed to work or if the guy was just really nice but we waited like two minutes and now we're going to where we need to be bye speech i think the day's starting to catch up with me nobody checked our tickets so still unconfirmed whether or not we were supposed to be on that train or not but we're almost there just a short walk to the hotel oh they're all about their stars they are a four-star hotel not bad not bad oh we have little chocolates on the bed so it's chocolate we have a balcony oh wow this is actually really cool it's so cool it is 10 30 we have to go to sleep right now because tomorrow starts what can only be described as an insane 48 hours that one of us is excited about another it's not yeah it's gonna be fun no
