what's going on guys Riley here today we are doing our first set of modifications to the Corvette here so I've already gone ahead and done a few minor things such as when I first got the car the previous owner had put LEDs in here for the daytime running lights but he didn't add resistors so basically my blinker would blink twice as fast as it should have been blinking so I went ahead and changed those out for some normal daytime running lights the stock ones put those back in coming in here to the interior I put some super-bright LED lights from Vette lights in the interior these are probably the brightest interior lights I have ever seen in my life so those things are no joke and then the other last lighting mod I did was a LED license plate bulbs which you know simple simple little mod once again and the previous owner already put LED reverse lights in as well so pretty much every light is LED on this car now except for these side markers and the tail lights which we are installing new tail lights today which are in fact LEDs now these are also from Vette lights as you can see they have a little halo ring that goes around them so I bought the unpainted version because they were like 200 something dollars cheaper than the pre tinted ones and then I had Travis over there tint them for me here at the shop using a light smoked tint so we'll put those on put those in here in a second as well as installing a gloss black zr1 spoiler to the rear so this little dinky thing is just I don't know I really wouldn't really call that a spoiler so now I will have something that goes from one edge all the way to the other and it will be gloss black to eventually tie into all of the gloss black accents I'm going to do on this car as you can see we already went ahead and wrapped the D this was actually the red top on the car and we wrap gloss black as well as this little piece right here some of you may remember I used to have the transparent roof on the car and I went ahead and changed it out mainly because I live in Texas and when you have a transparent roof on a car in Texas it gets super hot inside so I was like yeah I don't know if I can do that too much longer so we're gonna rock that roof for a while I'll probably sell the other one but anyways let's go ahead and get to installing the zr1 spoiler and the tinted vent lights tail lights here on the Vette should be a relatively simple process and I'll kind of walk you guys through it and then we'll see what we can get into the rest of the day now the reason I'm doing these two modifications together is because to access the spoiler you have to take out all the taillights so might as well while you're there change out the taillights too but pretty simple it's like a t 15 or 10 t10 Torx bit there's one screw at the top of every taillight you just unscrew them and the taillights will come out and then you can kind of stick your hand and reach up into the spoiler and take that thing out [Music] Tilly comes out and twist here's the original taillight housing here's the bulb which you will take out and then install the new taillights right into that plug really couldn't be any simpler now to remove this little guy you can basically just reach your hand in here and you'll find a couple different screws nuts bolts yeah as you can see just looks like this a little nut with a washer on it kind of popping from the inside unplug the little connector this thing comes out and tada your fake little tiny spoiler is now out alright so now that the existing third brake light spoiler is out which looks like this apparently this is actually an aftermarket product a previous owner did thankfully he did have the OEM one which is black and you have to remove the third brake light portion on the one I had it's actually built into it so it's kind of nifty but anyways moving over here to the zr1 spoiler as you can see it went ahead and placed it where it needed to go and then it just gets held in place by these little nuts and washers and there it is from the outside so now comes the fun part we get to drill into the bumper basically you're gonna do a test fit place the spoiler down I'm gonna put some blue masking tape over here in this area I'm going to use something similar to toothpaste or something like that and put that on the end of these bolts and that will give you a mark of where you need to drill you'll see here in a second so yeah drilling into course it's always fun hopefully we don't mess this up let's give it a shot alright so instead of toothpaste we're gonna use heavy cracking compound going to look something like so so now as you see we have our marks thanks to the heavy crafting compound so we're just gonna drill some holes in those spots and yeah can't wait [Music] I messed up look what I did I know why did I do that you're putting in a spoiler right so tightening this off is pretty fun considering they're really hard to get to and you're doing everything blind time so pretty happy everything should be coming to a close alright so here it is all finished on the car still missing the taillights obviously but I would say that's pretty darn good the fit and finish of it is near-perfect I'm really happy with the way that came out I think the car really needed it it needs something that goes all the way across to make that back look look good I think the middle thing is just kind of but as I'm sure you guessed since that is a gloss black the wheels are gonna be gloss black and there's this little badge up here I've got a gloss black one on order for that as well so going with the whole gloss black accent so that way if I ever do wrap this car it'll be you know the main wrap with gloss black accents should look really really clean now let's go ahead and get to installing these here LED taillights should just be you know a plug-and-play design basically on the back of them you have that which plugs into the light bulb socket and then this has double-sided tape it's a resistor you just basically pull the tape off and mount that resistor right in there in the back just tape it to that [Music] all right here we are all finished now as you can see with the lights off it doesn't look too much different than stock when you turn the lights on there's a very large difference that looks so sick I'm so happy with that oh yeah so once again the taillights are from a website called Vette lights and then the spoiler is from a website called c7 carbon so if you want either of those you can go check them out would highly recommend both of them at this point so far so good let's go ahead and turn the car on make sure the blinkers work and they don't hyper flash and yeah I try to get some shots outside in the daylight [Music] so here we are outside in the shade oh man it just looks so much better the taillights are badass absolutely love those I think the light smoke was a good call I think any darker than that it'd be just like bunch of black circles so I think that looks really good and then the the spoiler there I mean just it's you know very subtle and you probably wouldn't notice that it's it's aftermarket because it's a zr1 spoiler but I think it's just the right amount so really happy with how those two mods came out got some more stuff on the way and more than likely the next video you guys see will be drag racing here in the Corvette I was gonna post that originally I did go to the strip in this car sit down some bass lines were bass line runs but I wasn't really happy with them so I'm probably gonna go back tomorrow and set a few more bass lines just because let's just say we had a hard time launching the car the very first time so next video we're going drag racing after that new wheels and tires got a whole bunch of stuff happening Bob Auto boutique is doing well as always you guys need any final wraps or detailing or whatever we are your one-stop shop for just about everything so that pretty much wraps up today's video I will leave you guys with a time lapse wash video of a 6 gen 1 le that we had in here yesterday and for a paint decontamination and a ceramic coating definitely turned out awesome and the wash was just kind of fun to watch so I hope you guys enjoy the rest of this video and I will see you guys in the next one take it easy [Music] [Music] so after finishing a full exterior detail clay bar the whole nine yards we went ahead and brought the 1le inside and did a full Adam's polishes ceramic coating as well as a ceramic coating on the hood wrap which is vinyl so the owner of this car tracks his car meaning there was a bunch of rubber caked onto the side of this thing so we had to decontaminate the paint and spend a lot of time getting all that rubber off that was fun for sure but I'd say the end results are quite worth it it just shines so much with that ceramic coating on there and he'll have protected paint but yeah this was our first customer in for a full detail instead of just you know ceramic coating he did both but man I think the the results speak for themselves definitely really happy with how this one came out and good to see a a one alley back in front of me again these are definitely some awesome cars we got a approach rc6 here in front of me will be interesting to see what he runs okay yeah that thing is pretty damn rowdy yeah
