hey guys this is dan with gears and gadgets thanks for tuning in so this video is going to be the first 10 modifications that i've made to my 2021 ford f-150 this is a power boost that i bought super in love with this truck it's been awesome and i'm going to share those modifications with you here from the studio because the garage is miserably hot right now any time that i buy a new vehicle there's always like the first few things that like i need to get done out of the way these 10 things are those so the first was window tints here in arizona it's obviously brutally hot all the time and i decided to go to made in the shade was the name of the tint place this is not sponsored i paid full price it was 395 210 the whole vehicle all around now i did uh 10 on the front windows and 20 on the rear which is pretty dark i was a little bit worried about the 10 on the front because at night they can be a little bit uh dark but it's really really not that bad now i've heard of people tinting their windshields and going through all of this stuff i did not do that i need my vehicle to be functional at night and i think tinting windshields starts to really diminish how well you can see at night obviously the next thing that i did was linex something that again not sponsored the truck did not come with the bed liner i think this is one that i might spin off into a separate video because there's good reasons why i did not go with the either factory bed liner or get the free bed liner from the dealership again probably a separate video but that was six hundred and seventeen dollars for the mid grade linex it was the linux premium it has the uv shield it's a little bit shinier than the basic stuff and it's supposed to hold up to uv much better now the next thing i did which i will throw to the garage here is the husky wheel liner this truck did not come with the rear wheel liners so i did order the huskies those again i'll link all of this stuff in the description down below but those husky wheel liners i installed and they took about nine minutes per side very basic stuff so you put a j-clip here another j-clip here got a fastener hole back here here you can see the wheel well liners they fit in there really nice they look great and there helps kind of keep everything clean it's much easier to clean that off than it is to clean off the painted surface and keeps everything just looking a little bit neater now the next thing i'm going to talk about is the swing cases these swing cases i have a co-worker who uses them and he swears by him has loved them and i did get two of them at first i ordered one but i was a little bit concerned about the pro power on board the plugs in the rear of the truck being blocked by that swing case not a problem but let me go ahead i'll throw that to the install in the garage here all of the hardware should be in here there's a nice tray all of your hardware a little locking mechanism and this is the swing case we'll set this off to the side for right now just feeding these washers and nuts up in here it's kind of a blind operation this one you can actually see just fine this bracket here just goes in those same holes now we should be able to test fit this bad boy so get this lined up tighten down this bracket here so as it does my main camera overheated but you can see i got the case here just tighten up over there first and then tighten up the rear after so here you can see here is the bracket here is the pro power totally accessible so theoretically if you needed to you could remove this case and have full access to that but even if you don't it's even closing you still have enough room in here if you wanted to leave a plug in there you certainly could so it actually works out much better than i had anticipated so let's go ahead get the passenger side done and get out of this garage because man it is ungodly hot in here that is the swing case installation so all in i figure about a half an hour to get those things in both sides so now we got the truck outside we'll drop the tailgate and i'll show you guys exactly what these swing cases look like you can see that they fit in the wheel wells up pretty good it is a little bit narrower than four feet but i can remove the cases not a big deal you can see i temporarily have these locks on here and i say temporary because i will put a ton of cover on this truck and no longer have to utilize those same thing with the locks here on the tops once i get a tonneau cover on there i won't lock them but right now they are exposed so i do and on the passenger side you can see i have my ratchet straps for tying down loads now you can see i have two different fabric bags here one is actually a landing pad for jerome which i use all the time and then this canvas bag is a ready wares canvas bag that i ordered off amazon i wanted to share this it's not so much a truck mod but i find this to be a very useful bag for the towing accessories i have the factory oem harness for a trailer and the weigh safe hitch all kind of nice tucked into that canvas bag i thought that was a great thing to organize in the swing case and on the passenger side here i have my tow strap i have a an extra safety vest for work that's actually not the main one that i wear but it's there just in case i forget and then there's also an air pump in there and a socket set just some basic stuff that i like to have on me all the time an adjustable wrench and just some things that'll obviously fill out as time goes on now another modification that i absolutely had to make was this seven inch ride on air antenna the oem antenna on these trucks is just so floppy in the wind and at first i kind of thought i wasn't going to care so much but you can see that out of the corner of your eye and it's just really annoying so this does not move you don't even notice it and as far as reception goes it's been fine i don't really listen to a lot of terrestrial radio anyways i'm mostly listening to apple carplay or siriusxm or things like that so but aside from that i did test the antenna quality and it seems to pick up perception just fine now onto the back seat this was a modification i was pretty happy to learn about which is a built right back seat latch that is not a latch that is oem basically unlatching this passenger seat is a very difficult task to do without that latch and the reason why i think it's great to have is because the other accessory i've added which you can see tucked back here is the weathertech window shades for the entire vehicle now when i go out on trips for youtube stuff it might be on a whim where i might actually be sleeping in the truck at a truck stop i've done it several times and having these weathertech shades helps just block out anybody from kind of peeking into the truck as you're trying to sleep now with this latch i can actually access that from the driver side which is great because i have a car seat on the passenger side so now if i'm going on a road trip or something by myself for you know a trip i'll take that car seat out but on the daily that car seats there so it just gives me access to those window shades if i need them and now we will move on to one of the coolest modifications again i almost did a separate install video on this but it's so basic and so simple it wasn't really worth it to me but this is the console vault this console vault is great if you have firearms or money or anything like that that you need to store temporarily this is not a permanent gun safe when i see i've kind of read reviews and people are like oh somebody broke in my truck overnight and stole my firearm i don't think firearms should be stored in vehicles permanently i think it's something that if you go to a bank a school something like that you put it in there temporarily it just keeps anybody who's and grab mindset out of stealing a firearm or anything else you might have in there i also bought these sectioned off dividers for the inside of the console without them it's just one giant cavernous area that i find almost to be useless so those little plastic dividers are awesome they require a little bit of trimming if you can utilize a razor blade you're fine but you do have to kind of trim it down a little bit to fit in there with the console vault but all in it makes that whole area much more useful i absolutely love that organizer and one of the funniest mods that i've done this isn't really in the number scheme of all 10 but i did do the nickel trick the nickel trick actually helps hold up the center console these things are heavy and the springs oem aren't really all that great and i found that it's just very floppy and just by adding a couple nickels in behind those spring latches you add tension to the spring and it just makes it stay up a little bit better i found that out on the f-150 forums thank you forums that's a huge help i really appreciate it so guys those are my first 10 modifications to the ford f-150 just all things i wanted to share in this channel but i didn't want to make separate eight to ten minute long videos on such basic things again some of these installs take just a matter of a couple minutes and it's super simple stuff if you can't figure it out you shouldn't be even touching a screwdriver or modifying anything ever these are all very very basic things nothing was really all that difficult at all thank you guys very much for sticking around i do have some more involved things coming up with this truck down the road that will be standalone videos but again these are just kind of some easy things i wanted to throw out there for people that like me were looking for information on some of these things that probably doesn't exist so with that being said guys thank you very much for tuning in if this is your first time tuning in please that subscribe button down below remember likes go along way to support the channel i'll see you guys next time
