Finally Exploring the Abandoned Resort Island - Walker's Cay Generators STILL Running!!

[Music] [Music] [Music] no the other airplane wasn't full of drug smugglers or maybe it was I don't really want to know their story was that they left their battery master switch on so they were stranded on the island but they had already called for help by the time we got there anyway let's get started exploring this former island resort paradise known as Walker ski by the way the island is for sale we spent most of our trip pondering how we might build a new resort to outlast the old one so if you happen to find an extra 14 million dollars and your sofa cushions tonight hit me up in the comments section otherwise if you have any pictures of the old resort or stories you might want to tell I'd love to hear from you too that's that's up quite a ways I'm surprised you can yeah I'm surprised you could power up this with even like a big powerful aircraft this yeah so this is the seaplane ramp so you would pull your seaplane right in here and power up and park up there but you can yep and just taxi rated I that's why when I picture people doing that especially back in you know the the 70s when this was really really popular I picture people doing it with like like a Grumman albatross or something oh wow look at this some this probably looks familiar from for you for all of your hurricane relief all this twisted rebar and stuff [Music] well he brought it coconuts oh my god they come over those were all used this is why I brought sneakers just so I could walk through some of this but it's actually not that bad it's a little it's way more hilly than I thought it would be actually and I kind I kind of knew the numbers but yeah who told you you couldn't stay overnight [Music] have you stayed overnight yeah you said you honeymoon down here so yes yeah little trailers and stuff some of it is I mean but the harbor is destroyed I mean it's the rebar expose yeah so then it's prime this would have been fifty to a hundred yachts and they were all like you know fishing you know fly bridge type cruisers oh yeah that seems so I I saw this this is like kind of weird don't you think like do you think they did it just so you couldn't get out there like this gap you can see where now yeah you can see where the rebars bent back so I think they must have come in here with the excavator and just grabbed it and yeah I mean I'm not sure like why you'd even really care though you know it's not like the places or safe whoa look at all this yeah yeah you could have a wedding services oh yeah there's a beautiful gazebo over a cliff that's kind of where I would recommend doing a wedding ceremony this goes all the way out there to the little house it goes evil out there to the force who imagines we just here playing hey Jeremy did you take the key to your Cessna that's know if you wanted to hear that would be can you imagine that story no kidding oh yeah I'm gonna like this oh look well we could become if you like Gilligan's eye we could become explorers this so this this is all concrete so that what used to be something probably just the other side of this here does it look like we can keep going that way yeah what is I I love does this classify as urban exploring or not like you know what you know what this looks like this is um this is that part part glass part plastic stuff I think this is from a projector of some sort yeah right there's all these flip-flops everywhere the people who died here like I'm going that's what most people do is but oh there is this back taxi there's there's a lot of stuff on this island like this is kind of inconvenient getting out here but there's a lot of stuff we can look at [Music] you ever play there's a game called mist here somebody looks strangely similar to the other airplane maybe their company or something well we're not alone right right who the hell cuts the grass what this island is such an enigma maybe maybe it's kind of like lost there's a doors in the back - we can try creepy ass statues here well it's actually locked it looks really nice actually it's all full of pews the front was look at that yeah it's just like oh my god does it there's an organ there is a full organ in there right there look there is a fault organ this this place is such an enigma yeah I don't think we're getting in that way it's like this little brick pathway and everything yeah down there and then through this way it's where the old resort used to be who knows the lawn it was just the one I don't know yeah they used to be full oh yeah you have an incredible view mmm yummy I've seen worse pools in complete honesty behind people's houses I've seen worse I didn't think the other islands would be so close which is kind of neat you know cuz means you could just kind of go between them well I'm definitely getting a boat out here I wonder if you can even get to the gazebo though yeah can you imagine the view from a four-story window right here this was the resort yeah they tore it down yep yeah getting down there would be hard it looks like more than a gazebo though it's got windows yeah looks like maybe there used to be a bridge there maybe that bad so we should go you can pass pass by the plane get some water and some shade and then go down the other end oh boy look at this party this is some boat here yeah [Applause] Oh God yeah here holy mackerel this is the deserted island with more traffic traffic like there's only people here so we got we got we got down to the old powerhouse that had three large Caterpillar diesel engines and you can see the fuel farms up there [Applause] and son of a gun after 15 years still running there's nothing else on the island except for the Customs House so we're thinking that's what it must be look shell yeah that's what I said look at this gantry crane like what was that for that's a serious crane Wow poor dog today another transformer station over there a little bit further down the island there's some of the old cottages is that it's not a Nixon sticker now with not darnit know that someone got labels on them still actually they all do looks like these were refurbished yeah look look look they've all been refurbished oh yeah a new electrical outlets these are kind of nice I live in notice except for the hole in the wall except for the hole in the wall yeah yeah they were all refurbished shower yeah oh my god look at all the golf carts I could all those I loop I didn't know those were out there that's a nice one yeah I think the guys abandoned me cuz I heard an air-conditioner and voices but I can't find out from where my friends dreams do come true don't stop dreaming about yours and remember if they're not big enough if they're not a sixty-eight acre private island for 14 million dollars then they probably don't scare you and that means are not big enough so thanks for joining me on the biggest adventure of my life so far I'll catch you guys next time and until then you know what to do squawk VFR and have fun [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music]
