FILMMAKER REACTS to BREAKING BAD Season 5 Episode 14: Ozymandias

I watched Jane die whoa whoa he freaking oh my God no way no way he just did that yo yo yo what is up everybody and before we hop into the episode 14 of Breaking Bad I wanted to take this time to check out a video you guys have told me to check out before starting uh the episode 14 of um Breaking Bad here and that is going to be the YouTube video of a poem and I'm sorry if I butcher the name but amandas amandas um and I believe I heard this poem before I believe I've heard or read this poem before but I'm excited to check out the video of Walter White or Brian Cranson are reading this and you guys definitely uh recommend that I check this out and you know I just decided to videotape this moment cuz why not right like you know uh Breaking Bad is one of those shows where I feel is so when it comes to value and uh compounding value uh documenting even the slightest bit of it is pretty cool uh so that's why I am you know videotaping myself uh getting ready to watch the video so hopefully we can depict it you know share our thoughts a little bit before we hop into the episode for today so if you guys want to stick around for that by all means you can um but if you don't want to you can just skip to where the actual episode begins but um just like everything else when it comes to intros and outros it's up to you guys I feel like it helps with the better context of the video but as always you guys don't need to do it so if this is not interesting to you don't worry about it but if you are just as interested as I am then stay tuned cuz yeah we're going to check this okay all right all right all right all right all right I'm going share my thoughts a little bit in a in a in a in a second here so uh let me let me let me pull up the poem here let me pull up the poem so I'm going to pull up the poem how many times did I just say that all right so here's what it says uh on here read by James Adams okay um I met a traveler from an antique land who said two vast and trunkless legs of Stone Stand in the desert near them on the sand half sunk a shattered Visage lies whose frown and wrinkled lip and snare of cold command tell that its sculptor well those passions mean just just physically speaking this is definitely a Walter character but not just you know the physical mentality of it well the physical embodiment of it but the mental of it the mentality this Godlike uh uh uh omnipotence that is felt Within his being where you know he feels as though he's Invincible as if you know his his legacy is timeless but you know I think that's just a another trait of You Know The Human Experience that just tricks us you know we we trick ourselves in thinking that we can last forever so our attempts in preserving that and the madness we go through in order to you know uh remain Immortal in this Timeless universe is uh brilliantly depicted here um the line that says where is it where is it uh oh my God this was this is really good um King of Kings look on my Works ye Mighty and despair nothing besides remains round the Decay that is so good you know because from I mean there's so many ways that you could depict it right there's you know read reading it within the present and then reading it within hindsight right so if I read this in the present and we're going to look at it from a aziman deas but from Walter's perspective him being presently if he said this poem out loud in the present where he is right now there is a heavy amount of arrogance there's a heavy amount of like we mentioned before him thinking that he can last forever you know looking on his Works looking at all the Deeds he's done in order to get here you know how he is um uh proud of himself you know um how he says that these are things that I've built that you know you can't even comprehend you know both both great and sad you know um however you know he's seeing these Works slowly being covered within the desert you know over time because you you can't you can't stop that you know so that's reading it from the present but I feel like there's another way you can read this and that is the uh hindsight of let's say for instance the same character so for example let's say for instance Walter White is reading this after the point where wherever he is you know after the present um there is a there is a a a sadness to this there is a self-awareness that I feel as though that this poem reads and that is you know the the wanting and and almost the knowing that nothing will ever be remembered that no matter how great that you are the king of kings you know you won't be remembered after a certain point of time and I feel as though you know if we look at it from the hindsight perspective of a future version of Walter or you know let's say for instance Azie mandas it's the sadness that is portrayed within these lines here you know nothing besides remains round the decay of the Colossal wreck boundless and be the lone and level sand stretch far away you know it's like you you you work so endlessly and so tirelessly um throughout the night and throughout your entire life only for it to be forgotten right it's like what is it all for um and obviously you know that's why saying it from the hindsight perspective you know the after the present perspective because you know there's two versions of this right there's being in the moment when you think that you are untouchable when you feel like you are a king which obviously Walter definitely feels like um and then there is the the the hindsight you know which I guess we're going to be getting closer and closer to what happens after this wter White legacy is told what's left of it you know what was it all four is anything going to be remembered and I love that you know during the poem you know we're seeing the Breaking Bad trademark visually you know with the time lapses you know and you know the time lapse thems embody that of time just moving and going through and just showing all the things that are happening um it's a it's it's beautiful I I really like that I really like that so I'm going to carry that with me as we hop into episode 14 but I just wanted to give you guys a little bit of a treat with this because um I mean I think anything that is an additional uh bonus to Breaking Bad is uh pretty worth it so sorry for geeking out U we're going to hop into the episode y'all I'm excited but I really wanted to get to this all right so now that I have prior knowledge of uh the poem that is related to the title of this episode It's going to be interesting looking at it through the lens of that entire script yo so what's next we wait it's also pretty fitting that we are to their first cook that's crazy dense liquid would cool more quickly because of course this is an exothermic reaction which means giving off heat and our desired the Walter wies oh my my God God Jesus God oh wow I love that again after reading that poem and then relating it to the desert that they're in Just Hits Just Hits yeah yeah sure I can I can pick up a pizza hopefully bog down won't get me too late he better not trust me he does not want to piss off a h Dam before was even involved damn maybe we can have a little family time this weekend oh yeah yeah you know just take a drive the almost four of us man this is going to be crazy for when they cut back to the shoot out oh my God this is insane all right well I had better go and get this in the mail why don't you call me uh when you're on your way home okay we'll do love you I love you too if only you knew what was to come I wonder if he saw this future would he still go through it if he only knew all it would take wow I love to see that everything's disappearing just like the poem said wow crazy man again I love this Show's connection with the very internal uh uh like just just Affairs that the characters have with themselves and then they're great greater connection with the universe and how minuscule that is you know God damn that is so well done that's so well done man damn damn oh damn damn hey Uncle Jack I don't see Jesse Pinkman here he was right here before got eyes on Pinkman what do you figure he may be headed down that Gully there damn that is so much to take in man that is so much to take in he's my family he's my brother-in-law didn't cross your mind and maybe tell us you had a DEA agent for a brother-in-law there's no way he's getting out of this man there's no way he's getting out of this man tank is gone bro I can't believe this sorry man just no scenario where this guy lives no no no listen I have money I have money it's buried out here damn damn there is just so much happening there is so much happening there's so much happening man 80 like not even just what's being said but what with Hank is now like like he he he cares about him but it's just God this sucks man this is terrible my name is asack shrer you can go [ __ ] yourself hey at least he went out on his terms man that's something that's something Walt I think can't do you know damn this is this is terrible you're the smartest guy I ever met and you're too stupid to see you made up his mind 10 minutes ago yep yep damn this is terrible oh my god dude do what you're going to do ah Jesus and he told him about the damn money oh my God man that's terrible I don't even I don't even know what to even say I don't even know what to say I don't even know what to say look at your bodies of work look at what You' made Walter your greatest success but God man this is like the worst of the worst of like the worst because now they have the money Hank is dead Jesse's gone he's in handcuffs this is the worst thing that could happen damn man damn and they threw him in the grave they threw him in the very grave he put the money in if that ain't a a a freaking metaphor man I don't know what to say I'm So In Awe by this this story like I'm Star Struck by how good this show is but I'm also just like as a viewer and as a person that is experiencing this firsthand this is like insane man this is insane I'm leaving you a barrel boys are going to load it for you you got the keys to These Cuffs he even have to leave you with anything he going have to leave you with anything he left you a barrel just to let it sting hey man I got to know we're Square we're going to have to go that other way yikes man damn get off me get off oh man this is terrible this is so bad and then you know we take care of the job after that work for me work for you God damn man God damn I'm I'm still remembering like you know the part where he has his hair so there's still a a forward timeline that we have to you know be in the present for soon I watched Jane die whoa whoa he freaking oh my God no way no way he just did that I watched her overdose and choked to death I could have saved her but I didn't oh my god oh my god dude holy sh oh my God Jesse is that was terrible that was terrible man oh my God I I don't even know what to say to that I don't even know what what to say to that holy [ __ ] oh my God man we are just getting the credits rolling in too by the way that's crazy man this is this is just oh my God man I don't even know what to say what I just experienced oh my God Dam they got this Fallout 4 type beat going on damn I cannot believe Hanks gone and his partner and they are buried in the same spot where his money was oh man hey that's terrible that's so bad everything is so bad this is the worst thing that could have ever happened it's crazy that it pit these two sisters against each other that's such a shame all I have been forcing myself to remember is that you are my sister and so I'm here damn damn damn damn that is a lot to take in right there I want you to give me every single copy of that obscenity that the two of you made to discredit Hank that DVD every single copy If Only They Knew If Only They freaking knew they have no clue Marie has no clue that her husband is buried next to his partner in the same spot Walter had his money that they made together God damn man jeez dude they're literally just torturing Jesse damn is he going to have him cook to is that what they're thinking about doing he's going to be forced to cook for them Jesus man damn it Jesse he should have just laugh man I'm so mad I'm so mad I mean to to go back to you know abuse just just being abused and Abus victims I know it's like like within that it's hard to leave like it's like this it's like um I'm not trying to obviously put him on like similar charact you know outside of the show but Jesse is 100% like like I said earlier an abused dog right and it's like well why doesn't he leave and I keep asking why doesn't he leave and it's the same thing it's like your your mentality your whole world the gravity around you just just keeps you Tethered to this world you can't leave and that's Jesse literally like literally Jesse situation right now could have left like two three seasons ago man you're completely out of your mind it's the truth it is Flynn then both of you are out of your mind oh God and we're having to deal with Flynn figuring it out Jesus Christ this this is [ __ ] this is [ __ ] [ __ ] I I want to talk to Dad your dad's in custody you won't be able to talk to him for a while I'm calling uncle Hank oh no oh God Walter oh he's going to answer too Jesus and then she's going to know something's up all this is true and you knew about it then then you're as bad as him damn damn I would hate to even hear that as a parent man that would oh my God go why are you here Skyler please will you just go get your things for you and the kids right now this is our priority this is so bad this is so bad right here oh my God and Flynn's right there we have to go right terrible this is terrible the acting in this is so Good by the way I know I'm not talking a lot about the film making because I'm just so I am I am so absorbed in this story right here I'm just in this right here this is cracked out man Skyler get out woo ah this is bad that's a giant Jason Vorhees knife too Jesus Christ and Flynn has to see that entire thing Flynn is traumatized he put a knife on my mom he he attacked her he he's dangerous I I think he might have killed somebody yeah yeah everything that he fought so hard for just exploding in front of him let her go Jesus this is terrible oh my God this is so terrible Jesus Christ man man if there's if there's anything y'all can pick up from this show it's just be honest oh my God just tell the truth and be honest damn oh my [Music] god wow M damn even the baby's like bro can you please just give me back to my mom Mom I'm happy to let us sit with that scene this is crazy female 18 months oh man you cross me there will be consequences what part of that didn't you understand you took my child cuz you need to learn cuz you need to learn holy crap it's immoral it's illegal someone might get hurt you're always whining and else oh oh oh just like hey oh my god wow Walter holy crap that is wow this whole time I thought that he was just he was just doing that to get at her he's doing this to to protect her and his family and everyone wow that's crazy I was wondering I was like why is why are we lingering on this and then her subtle change and wow that's crazy wow he crushed me you think about that oh my God this is layers man this is layers guys this is crazy guys this is crazy oh my God this is a this is a top this is top tier man what wow just come home I've still got things left to do that's crazy I I was like why is he why is he like like he's smart enough to know the cops are there and now I get it he's trying to make sure they had no involvement with what he was doing holy crap man this is oh ah god dude I know they were when they were writing this show they were probably just like they were just like hell yeah man God damn this show is something else man this is a whole other level I've never seen anything like this dog whose baby is this stop it oh my god dude wow he at the same place where the secret uh I don't know what is it called and they make you disappear but we eventually know he comes back is he going to come back for Jesse cuz why else would he come back and that would explain why he has that giant gun holy crap what is about to happen in the next couple of episodes here wow guys oh my God holy crap guys I think we just got done probably the best episode I've seen on this show so far and that's crazy to say cuz we've seen some incredible episodes I mean like plural I mean we've I have at least 10 episodes that I can just call up that are just my favorites but this one is number one this one's number one guys I like I mean we've witnessed Gus getting getting bombed out we got I mean I mean like that was I think that was the last visible reaction I had I mean we had oh my God like so much has happened in this episode man we got we got Hank going out like a G by the way but like damn like I wonder if ah man dude it's so this is this is deep there are so many layers like to let you guys know what's going on in my head and why I'm struggling to like form words really a sentence is because each character I can I can write like a like a college thesis on like each character even on Flynn's character for crying out loud I can I can talk about all these characters for like a solid week non-stop back to back I mean technically I I've had you know if we put up all the episodes we've we've watched and the amount of minutes involved and hours involved I'm pretty sure it's well over like at least seven days or something guys this show is incredible I really hope that um this inspires people to write and to just just get involved with writing and to just get good people who you know want to help you right guys listen I you don't have to get the most expensive camera you don't have to get the most expensive lighting system or actors or anything like that I know TV shows and movies are difficult I mean difficult to just even start up you know to to before we even you know say action you know the the process before all of that is just it's it's mind-numbing but if there's anything that I can tell y'all to just like hopefully motivate you guys to just you know at any time period doesn't have to be now it doesn't have to be next week or next year or a decade later I just hope that during this stretch of time however long each individual here that is listening to this have has left on this planet that you guys take time to write a story it doesn't have to be published it doesn't I mean no one even has to even see it okay I just hope as a human being you you practice the art of writing a story uh I know oral tradition is such is an ingrained thing in in human experience and just human crafting you know stories are important but if there's any motivation after watching this is to please pencil pen typewriter I don't know notepad on your on your on your phone I don't care what it is drawing it in the sand I don't care and let the Wave Wash over it and like I don't I don't care just write a story right right right right it is your right to right it is your right to write this is such an incredible story I I can't even I like and again like you know the the P that we've watched before this you know it's like it really is that you know it really is writing something out in the sand and letting the waves wash over it but having this this stubbornness as if you know even with the waves washing over it you'll still be remembered I'm talking about the poem here I'm not talking about you guys I'll remember y'all um um it's just man this is this is crazy this is a crazy story I'm so sorry that I can't like I can't like like put into words right now how crazy the story is I can't I can't help it I I I don't even want to stop talking I don't I don't even want to stop talking about it this episode was insane it was insane you know and that call that call man at first I was like yo Walter I mean like what like what are you doing here like like like you should know that the cops are there you should know that like like you you took the baby man and then you know after he was really letting it in I was like wait a minute wait a minute and then obviously beautiful beautiful freaking acting uh with Skylar's character when she realized it too when she realized it it was like like we simultaneously realized it at the same time you know and again beautiful acting where you can see the subtle change the shift in her in her in her this sounds weird as hell her skin muscle you can see the change you know and and as soon as that happened it clicked as soon as that happened to click that guys this show is epic man this show is epic a show that reminds me of this is dark if you guys haven't watched it I've watched I think like the last season on my channel way back in the beginning when I started this I highly recommend watching dark it's on Netflix check it out um but damn this is crazy this is crazy this is like top tier man I don't I don't this is awkward now cuz I'm just talking I'm just rambling how are you guys how are you doing guys uh um I think what's going to happen in the next couple of episodes is Walter is going to come back because he obviously does and we left off with again there's the there's a there's a part here and they've done this before where they glimpsed of the future to us I think Walter is going to go back and he's going to try and rescue Jesse and in the process of that he's probably going to die if I'm W in the show that's how I would do it all the pieces are just like they're there all the pieces are there that's like the one Redemption Walter can have and we got a couple episodes left or I think two more yeah um but that's that's how I think that's what I think it's going to happen guys let me know in the comment section below what you
