night while I'm gone because she'll be lonely whoops it turned out to be a tragic mistake after all O'Neill was one of Hollywood's most notorious lotharios with conquests that included Diana Ross Bianca Jagger and Barbara Streisand Ryan said that he and pharah kissed until their lips were bloody on their first date and by the end of their second one her marriage was finished before getting adaptation of the 19th century novel Barry Linden Redmond followed in his parents footsteps and briefly pursued a career as an actor he voiced skateboard boy in a 1997 episode of the Cartoon Network series Johnny Bravo and the following year he voiced squirt in Disney's The Brave Little Toaster goes to Mars then he worked as a production assistant on the 2003 comedy Love Don't Cost a Thing starring Nick Cannon his career was off to a pretty good start but it suffered when he began getting into trouble he was first arrested in 2005 for meth and cocaine possession and again in 2008 for possession and driving Under the Influence Redmond's final film credit was as himself Health in pharah's story that was the incredible 2009 documentary about his mother's fight with cancer why didn't Ryan O'Neal land Farrah Fawcett get married Ryan and pharah were among Hollywood's most glamorous couples but they never felt pressured to make it official considering their previous failed marriages it would be perfectly understandable for either of them to have cold feet O'Neill's first marriage to Joanna Moore only lasted three years and she lost custody of Tatum and Griffin after multiple drunk driving arrests then Ryan's second one to lead Taylor young was a happy one but they grew apart after the success of Love Story Ryan told Vanity Fair quote suddenly I was catapulted I didn't take anybody with me I went alone O'Neill and Fawcett separated in 1997 but he returned to her side after her 2001 cancer diagnosis O'Neill told Barbara Walters quote I've asked her to marry me again and she's agreed but terribly Farrah Fawcett passed away before they could carry out that ceremony trouble in Paradise Redmond received probation after 2008 arrest for Narcotics possession and both he and his father were arrested in their Malibu home later that year when the police found a stash of methamphetamines during a routine probation inspection Ryan claims he had confiscated the drugs earlier and took the heat himself to protect his son then Redmond was arrested once again in 2009 for attempting to smuggle in heroin into a Detention Center in California he was going to visit jailed inmates I assume friends Farah story Farrah Fawcett wanted to share her struggles with cancer with the world and over 9 million people watched pharah's story on NBC pharah was so heavily sedated near the end of her life that she didn't always recognize her friends and family before she died passing away on June 25th 2009 after the funeral Redmond told People magazine quote my plan is to move forward with my life clean and sober I am going to do so privately and with as much dignity as I can what happened to Redmond O'Neill's inheritance Farrah Fawcett left most of her 4.5 million estate exclusively to Redmond in a trust administered by her business manager Richard Francis but radman is only allowed to collect the interest generated by the fund and Francis is allowed to spend as much as he sees fit for his Rehabilitation according to Ryan Redmond has been to rehab 13 times including one extreme 18-month long behavior modification program but Griffin told Larry King that Redman would frequently leave detox before the program was complete and his father wouldn't pay the bill Griffin said Redmond was eventually no longer allowed at any detox center in La his half-sister Tatum O'Neill told people quote nobody knows what to do with Redmond from what I've seen there is no way he's going to survive more trouble for red Ryan O'Neal told Vanity Fair that Redmond is a sap and a poor stupid boy who doesn't know how to be a thug and he seemed to get caught no matter what he did the boy was pulled over for running a red light in Santa Monica in 2011 and then of course sentenced to rehab when police officers found heroin in his car after a 2015 probation violation he was sentenced to three years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation but his trial judge credited him for a year of time served and he was spotted in public with his dad in 2016. in May of 2018 Redmond O'Neill went on a violent Rampage through Southern California that ended when he allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven and threatened the clerk with a knife he was charged with second-degree robbery assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of possessing a controlled substance while he was in custody police also tied him to five stabbings in the Venice Beach area even being charged with attempted murder and during the trial he claimed he was compelled by Voices That told him he should kill someone was Ryan O'Neal a hopeless father in 2016 Ryan O'Neal told Vanity Fair quote I'm a hopeless father I don't know why just look around at my work they're either in jail or they should be his oldest daughter Tatum developed a heroin habit and lost custody of her three children to their father tennis Legend John Mcenroe his son Griffin also developed a drug habit and was found guilty of Reckless boating in a 1986 accident that accident claimed the life of director Francis Ford Coppola's son Giancarlo during pharah's 60th birthday party in 2007 Ryan O'Neal was arrest tested for firing a gun at Griffin and he claimed self-defense and terribly Redmond was only allowed to attend his mother's funeral in handcuffs under police supervision Ryan did not allow Griffin to attend at all in her autobiography a paper life Tatum O'Neill claimed she suffered physical and emotional abuse from her father and said he was also physically violent with pharah Ryan admitted that he failed to recognize his own daughter at pharah's funeral and made a pass at her after the service oh my gosh Ryan and Tatum eventually reconciled after Pharaoh's death and she visited him in 2023 to celebrate his 82nd birthday Redman spoke to radar online from jail in 2018 and he blamed his parents for his criminal Behavior he said quote it's not the drugs that have been a problem it's the psychological trauma of my entire life he also claimed he never wanted any attention quote the pressure that came with that set off a time bomb in my head on the other hand Patrick O'Neill painted a very different picture of his father in an interview with Access Hollywood he said quote Ryan O'Neal was my hero his legacy is not going to be that he was a bad parent because I'm here to say that in my case that is not true he also said quote Tatum wrote a book about how bad everything was I could write a book it might be pretty boring about how awesome my childhood was Will Redmond O'Neill ever get out of jail in 2019 Redmond was found incompetent to stand trial and was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia bipolar disorder and anti-social personality disorder Redmond was transferred from the Twin Towers jail in Los Angeles to the California Department of State hospitals where he still remains as of 2023.
