hello everyone this is ab creative how are you today sending greetings from rainy london well i've been asked by several people to make some more organic forms so today i'm going to test whether i could use some toilet clothes to make dandelions with pouring acrylics so what i'm planning for today is something different uh we are going to need pair of scissors we will also need this yes you're right this is the inside of the toilet paper i might also use some white card and even some plastic sheets as well so we've seen a minute why so i'm going to test today and see if it's possible to make dandelions using pouring acrylics i know it's possible just using a normal grade paint and painting because i've done it with my students at school but i'm going to check the pouring acrylics today so the first thing i'm going to do i'm preparing the tools so i do let's just just cut sections of the toilet paper the inside up to the same height roughly doesn't have to be perfect not too thin not too thick all around well it will take some time so please put some music on and just enjoy because dandelions are very fragile and flimsy i'm actually aiming to make those oh i think i'm going to call them the seed parachutes so gently open it bend it gently but not too much see if they are too long they'll be quite flimsy so i wouldn't recommend them longer than three four centimeters okay something like this and it's nice when they can kind of bounce off like that okay so this is my one uh tool but i'm thinking i would like them in different sizes i'd like smaller and bigger so i'm going to make my own since i don't have different toilet paper rolls i'm just going to use this and prepare another one slightly smaller it'll be easier now because i'm just cutting the sections like this this is slightly thicker acrylic paper designed for acrylic paints so i thought that would be a nice one there'll be a link in my description if you want to use that paper if i cut them too long and then i decide to make them shorter that's no problem because once i tape it i can put the tape over the section i don't i just don't want so i'm cutting it off and i'm just going to use some masking tape to tape it around the next the biggest and then i'm going to make a really small one i'm using a bit of painters tape very good plate very sturdy i don't want my edges to be overlapping so i'm just touching it here as you can see i mean i do love some diy and dt little jobs just to reinforce this section perfect i i suppose i could make them all kind of different sizes smaller shorter endings and then i noticed my straw lying nearby and i thought if i cut this one i'll have a really really small inside that might be pretty cool so let's check if my scissors will get in that will be a cute inside cool well to be honest i could make all kinds of different sizes and maybe i will have a way through if this one falls apart i could always use the plastic and cut it and do the same thing so maybe actually i'll prepare one more just in case so these are the colors for today as you can see a very very light hues really pretty colors so yeah they are all metallics so we've got silver layer we've got pearl white we've got pearl sky blue pearl rose quartz and royal purple and the consistency of my mix looks like this you can see it runs down really smoothly if you want to find out how i mix my paints in detail there'll be a video over here you can check i'm just going to mention very briefly so my pouring medium is 50 of pva glue a special archival glue and and water then i add a bit of my paint i would say one third of paints to two thirds of pouring medium and on top of that a dash of floutroll and i mix it really well so that's that all these strange containers i just recycle various lids and containers and yeah be fantastic if you could use the affiliate links in the description i get a small commission with each purchase at no extra cost to you and it's a great way to support my channel so that i can make more videos for you so i'm coating my background using a palette knife doing too much paint just an even even coat the background is ready uh well let's just hope it will work i brought some plates so i can spread the paint onto them and then dip my special tools here i want this might be too small maybe i'll go for a bigger plate so you can see i love trees i've got trees everywhere okay so that one that one will do so how am i going to do it um i think the darkest color is the purple so i'll do it first so then the closest colors will be the lightest one will that be enough okay so i'm going to dip the toilet paper roll just thinking of the composition if i do the biggest one here and two smaller ones okay moment of truth okay so i'm dipping it so you can see just like that oh please let it work oh kind of not bad got a bit of black here but that's fine is it round enough or should i add yeah i think that's better i'm going to use the same one here but i'm just not going to spread it so much i'm a bit worried that i've got lots of black now on the the ends something like that i think i'm going to add a bit more deeper purple i think we need more color oh i just can't believe i've lost the footage again when i was just using this smaller tool to put the blue lines sorry so i'm just using my palette knife to some lines i think that helps and once it's dry i'm going to embellish it a bit more i don't want to contaminate the blue paint with black here i think it's looking much better when i underlines it looks like a kind of negative dandelion because the inside should be actually much darker but it's not anyway it's it's great fun something to do especially with the kids perhaps i'm just filling the gaps inside well i think that's the end of part one i've created lots of mess so i just need to tidy up and then come back to it once it's dry my dandelions are dry now and i think it's time to improve some bits uh first of all i was thinking about composition it's a bit heavy on this side so i thought perhaps i need another one somewhere behind but i don't want it so prominent i want it really kind of further in the distance very very sort of faint dandelion by the way the dandelions are not realistic they are kind of fancy ones that's why i've changed colors they're all pink purple and blue not not like the real colors um okay so i've got contact paper and i'm just going to cover this one because i don't want to destroy it in the process and then i'm going to just just add one behind as i said because i don't want i want it really faint i'm just going to mix silver with black to make just some indication of one so this one is going to be pretty dark i'm going to use a bigger tool but i'm just mixing using the straw i think that's dark enough lighter than my background but still pretty dark okay so time for oh i don't want to destroy this one as well so i probably have to cover this one this one too okay i'm not sure if it's going to look nice but well i can always wipe it off the background is dry so if i don't like it i can remove my new addition i'm using the mid tool mid size yeah that's pretty dark okay well shall we put somewhere somewhere here at the moment it's looking messy but hopefully be okay maybe i'll just add a bit a bit of blue i really don't want it too dark and too light sorry okay that's sort of balanced my right side i think and middle so i'm using the small one small tool okay so i'm using my really really thin brush and sort of quickly drawing some lines here i've decided that my source of light is coming from this way so i want this part of my dandelions much lighter than the rest i'm hoping that once it's dry this part is going to be much darker than the rest so i'm removing the foil and this small one still very wet this one so i'm very careful okay one on top of the other now we need some kind of stems and i think the dandelion stems are actually not the thinnest i took some brush and i'm thinking maybe i'll go with the blue and mix with gray see how that looks so taking a bit of blue quick move if you would like to own any of the pieces that i make during the videos just please send me an email or message me on instagram at ab creative official i think this one will be slightly bent this way did i make it too thick that leaves me with just a shadow of a stem for the one at the back so what i'm doing now i'm just using this brush using white paint and perhaps some of the lighter colors i'm just adding few lighter lines especially on my left side because that's where my light source is i've also decided to add a few of those spiky lines here but only again only on this side just an indication i don't want my dandelions to be perfect they're fancy than the lions after all i think i'll add a few more here i don't want actually the whole thing covered with them because then we won't see those nice colorful insides just a few and i'm using white titanium white now on top to make it more visible the other white was metallic white well i hope you you enjoyed the process i'll be very grateful if you could press like and please subscribe to my channel there are some ways you can help me out you can use my affiliate links for example time for my signature i wonder what you think this sort of fancy dandelions quite like the middle bits and the spiky endings uh i'll you'll be great if you could leave a comment and tell me what you think bring my lamp here so you can see how shiny the metallics are oh that's really shiny the blue and the purple the pink and silver well in today's experiment i was testing whether the toilet paper technique will work with pouring acrylics and to be honest i think i'm quite pleased with the result well thank you very much for the person who suggested more natural themes and yeah it would be great if you can actually tell me what you would like me to try
