round during our fall revival we're falling into greater as we walk into expectation tonight and hear from the gmc ac music ministry charles butler and trinity and bishop brandon jacobs senior now let's go into worship wow wow welcome to revival 2021 yes my goodness we are excited we have been so blessed as we have fallen into greater lord hammers i said we've fallen into greater it is great great great great i don't know about you those of you who are in person and those of you who are on screen i don't know if you just holler back do you feel revived oh my god do you feel refreshed [Music] do you feel rebirthed what about a release yes the lord it has been absolutely amazing for my first my first service on wednesday with dr dorinda clark cole and all that and then last night with bishop spencer and the prophetic words he kept uttering to us [Music] i tell you i i've been i've been rejoicing all day all day i'm telling you the old folks say all day i've been with jesus listen listen to me all day i have been with jesus and this has been a glorious day well we're in we're excited we know god is gonna he's gone i don't know if he's gonna conclude or he's gonna continue or he gonna set us up or whatever he's going through tonight how many are ready for revival how many are ready for worship [Music] so we're giving god thanks and praise for his presence message bible psalm 34 and it reads i bless god every chance i get my lungs expand with his praise i live and believe god if things are going well hear this and be happy join me in spreading the news together let's get the word out god met me more than halfway he freed me from my anxious fears look at him give him your warmest smile never hide your feelings from him when i was desperate i called out and god got me out of a tight spot god angel set up a circle of protection around us while we pray open your mouth and taste open your eyes and see how good god is blessed are you who run to him in the last verse verse 9 worship god if you want the best worship opens doors to all his goodness may the lord continue to bless the reading of the word and let us pray eternal god our father lord as were having boys left and right i mean it looked like we couldn't stop having boys and uh finally after three boys um my wife we were in the doctor's office and they told us we were having a girl and my wife was so excited she didn't know what to do with herself she just we left there buying pink and lilac to decorate the room and uh one particular day we went to the doctor's office and when we got there we're sitting there and we're all excited you know with a happy young couple my wife is laying on the table and the doctors checking her out and uh he was checking around a little too long for my liking and i finally asked him i said i said doc is everything all right and he start deep breathing and trying to figure out what was going on and he left out and went and got another nurse you know when they go get another nurse that's never good news nurse comes in there and now both of them down there deep breathing and looking and and my wife being a registered nurse she lifted up her head and she said what's wrong the doctor looked at her and said i need to take some cultures because we think we see cancer here's my wife finally with the baby girl in her belly and the doctors looking and saying i think i see cancer my wife automatically thinking that if this is cancer then they've got to take the baby and it's no telling what i'm getting ready to go through in this season i will never forget this day we leave out the doctor's office we get into the car and i remember like it was yesterday it seemed to be the most sunny day in illinois that it could be the sun is shining in and i'm driving down the street with my wife in the car and i'm looking over to my wife to my right and as i look at her tears are rolling down her face and if i have any husbands you know you don't know what to say during these times because it's in these times where we seem to say this the craziest stuff and so i don't know what to say i'm i'm worried and and i'm looking at her and i'm trying to tell her it's going to be all right don't worry vivian this is going to be well and tears are rolling down her face we get my wife into the house after getting her into the house she instantly ran into the bedroom after she runs into the bedroom i went into the bathroom to pray and when i went into the bathroom to pray i'm asking god to heal my wife i'm asking god to touch her to do something to fix this situation and i'll never forget what the lord told me when i got into the house and when i was praying and talking to god about what to do he never told me he was going to heal my wife he never told me he was going to allow me to keep the baby he never told me he was going to turn things in my favor the lord said three words to me while i was in that bathroom he said praise me now my brothers and sisters it was that day that i learned that praise was not optional it was that day that i learned that praise was not only and it was that day i learned that praise should be perpetual in other words my brothers and sisters you don't praise god because you feel like it you don't praise god because it's something that you want to do but you praise god simply because he is god and if things never work out the way you want them to work and if you never get the job that you want to have and if you never get the breakthrough that you think you deserve one thing you must understand is that praise is not an option praise is a command it is your bible that says let everything that have breath praise the lord my brothers and sisters in other words we praise god simply because he is god it is a command it is what we as believers must do on good days and bad days alike in all things we are to give god thanks for this is the will of god concerning you in christ jesus said i want to stop by and talk to somebody who you need god to look upon something and you need god to fix something you need god to turn something around you you need god to bring a breakthrough somewhere in your life and god is not necessarily giving you the word that you want to hear from him but when you can't hear god or when you don't understand what god is doing your posture is not the posture of depression your posture is not the posture of anger your posture is not the posture of one who is beat down but you got to tell yourself it's not going the way i want it to go but i'm going to praise god anyway i'm not i don't have the money that i want to have but i'm going to praise god anyway things are not going the way i want them to go but i made it in my mind i will bless the lord at all times i'm looking for my praises and his praise shall continually be in my mouth i wonder tonight do i have somebody who can praise god on good days and bad days do i have somebody who can praise god when you feel like it and when you don't do i have somebody who can praise god even though the doctor said you ain't got long to live you know how to lift your hands up and say i'll praise you anyway you learned how to be like hezekiah and i'll turn my face to the wall and say if you'll kill me who's going to pray [Music] look at somebody and say neighbor you got to learn how to praise him anyway praise him praise him anyway and my my brothers and sisters this here is the heartbeat of our texts our text is teaching tonight to bless the lord especially those of you watch me who call yourself servants of the lord let me try it again bless the lord especially those of you who call yourself servants of the lord i have found that many times we let our positions in church determine our posture at church the more we do in the church the less we do unto god at church many of us get grand titles that we matriculate through educational ranks and get paid positions in the house of god and come to church and keep silent in so much in many cultures there's almost an unsaid rule that says well to do people should not be so emotive i'll keep quiet don't praise him no no you too important to praise him no no you got too much money to praise him no your car is too pretty to praise him oh please the devil is a liar see that's the problem with us now you forgot how you got to where you were you forgot how you got to where you are it was the praise that got me here and it's my praise that's going to sustain me how dare you with all the money in your pocket come to church and shut your mouth and not praise god i'll tell you cause you got some louboutins and one gucci person come in here and keep your mouth shut how dare you cause you got ten dollars in the bank and all your bills are paid bring your narrow behind in this church and not bless the name have you lost your mouth have you forgotten that it was god who woke you up you forgot it was god who gave you the activities of your ribs you forgot to 19 should have took you out of here years ago or months ago and you're gonna come here and keep your mouth shut [Music] oh come on here without that organ i need somebody to throw your head back and shout you understand that it is by the grace and mercy of god that we are not consumed all my brothers and sisters i come to break some rules tonight and i come to obey the psalmist where he says behold bless the lord especially those of you who work for the lord at least to my first point to tell you tonight that servants are commanded to adore god as we look at this book of psalms a book of songs and hymns it is not a story book so it is not broken down in chapters but because it is a song book it is broken down in numbers so psalms does not have 150 chapters it has a hundred and fifty numbers with three divisions and five books the five books are tamira the torah or the pentateuch which are the first five books of the bible genesis exodus leviticus numbers and deuteronomy uh psalms 1 through psalms 41 represents the genesis book the besheath then you god's book 2 which is psalms 42 through psalm 72 which represents the exodus then you have book 3 which represents psalm 73 through psalms 89 that represents the leviticus then you've got book four which represents psalms 90 through psalms 106 that represents the numbers then you've got book five psalms 107 through psalms 150 that represents the the deuteronomy my brothers and sisters these books are all wrapped into the one book of psalms then you have the three divisions of psalms these three divisions are smeared throughout the complete book of psalms these three divisions are prophecies somebody say prophecy history somebody say history and poetry somebody say poetry when you look throughout the book of psalms you will see uh the poetic psalms smeared all throughout the book of psalms you will see it in places like psalms 2 that prophetically speaks to the eternal divine the sonship of christ you will see it in psalms 8 that predicts his incarnation as the son of man you will see it in psalm 16 and 22 which predicts his death his agony and his resurrection you will see it in psalms 22 that is amen a mountain glory to god of pain and agony it is in psalms 22 where you hear the lord say my god my god why hast thou forsaken me but what i like about psalms 22 and psalms 24 is in between psalms 22 and psalms 24 is the valley of psalms 23 oh god ain't got no church here on the mountain of agony in psalms 22 he says my god why has thou forsaken me but in the valley of psalms 23 he lets me know that thou are going to walk through the valley of the shadow of death but in psalms 24 he let you know that whatever he was trying to do in the valley it ain't gonna work because there's another mountain of reward lord who am i preaching to in here oh let me put this in your suit while i'm in your kitchen and tell you if you can make it through the valley there's another mountain waiting on you when god says i'll let you reign if you can just live up through the valley we see these three divisions of prophecy then we see history we see that it's history because of how it proclaims or recalls the pentateuch and the agonies of moses and david as david begins to walk through this valley we just talked about we also see it as moses begins to consider how the lord had kept him and the children of israel while they were in the wilderness how loud in the wilderness their shoes never got too small their clothes never ran out never got so many holes in them where the people couldn't wear the clothes we see how moses begins to recall how the lord kept them in the valley or kept them in the wilderness we see it when moses lets us know he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty god i will say of the lord he's my refuge and my fortress my god in him will i trust moses is talking about how the lord kept them and covered them in a wilderness they didn't have houses made a brick and mortar but he kept them he was a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night we see history we see prophecy but then we see poetry when you look at the psalms it is considered poetic because of the rhythms and the repetitions of many of the psalms you will see it in places like psalms 1 you begin to see the poetic movements blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standing in the way of the sinner nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful for his delight is in the law of the lord and in that law shall he meditate day and night he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit induce his leaf or do you see the part you shall not wither and whatsoever he'd do it it shall bring maybe you don't see the poetry there maybe you see the poetry in psalms 24 lift up your head oh ye gates and be lifted the everlasting doors for the king of glory shall come in ask the question who is the king of glory the lord strong and mighty the lord mighty lift up your heads lift up your heads lift up your heads lift up your hands oh i'm the king of glory oh we're gonna have church in here tonight i feel breakthrough coming in here early do you see the power in the poetry [Music] glory shall come in it it has all of this summed up in psalms if i had to sum sums up in one phrase i would call it the hallelujah book i would call psalms the praiser book i would call times to get god's attention book because how you read it and you can't help but go to praise and did you see what happened in the room just now just by quoting the psalms uh there was a fragrance of glory that came in the room let me give this to you the next time you want to quit you better go get you a psalm and you better find you a corner and you better hide you better know how to quote that thing until you get some joy down on the inside of your soul or tell somebody throw your head back and just give god glory because you know the power [Music] psalms 134 is in the fifth book of the psalms part of the collection of psalms called the pilgrim psalms psalms 134 seems to be a mixture of poetry and history it causes one to remember and to poetically adore god for what he has done the psalms is called the psalms of ascend in the hebrew this word basically means to go up it means to go up some uh take this to indicate the return of the hebrews from exile from being in babylonian captivity i wish i had time because if i had time i would really make it plain to you because you got to understand that's what's going on here in psalms 134 you have to visit the prophetic corpus of jeremiah what jeremiah tells the children of israel he says because can i teach this a little tonight he says he says because you have been disobedient because you have not followed after the ways of god he says i'm going to take you and put you in bondage please know my brothers and sisters that this this season of being displaced from church is not the first time the children of god were displaced from church but you must understand that jeremiah tells the children of israel that because you have not put god first he says i'm going to bring you in captivity and your temples shall be in rubbish so the children of israel for 70 years found in babylonian captivity then you get into the prophetic corpus of zechariah when you get into that book zechariah prophesied that since you've been in bondage now god is getting ready to pull you out now when he pulls them out according to nehemiah and ezra the bible teaches us that when they return they return to their town while the town is in rubbish how they find it amen no good they find it totally jacked up but the bible says that the children of israel are starting off in psalms 120. the children of israel they gather their things they get their clothes out of captivity handle yes lord they go get all the stuff amen from the place of bondage and they start a pilgrimage from psalms 120 all the way up to psalms 134 as their pilgrimage up my brothers and sisters they start off in psalms 120 in dire straits in alien territory and in off in psalms 134 in the temple of god giving god praise because god has just brought them from bondage god has just brought them from 70 years of captivity and now god is bringing them back to a place of their return oh but watch me now what i love about this is that when they return brother butler they're not returning to everything being perfect when they return they're not returning to everything being what it's supposed to be but the bible would suggest when they left the babylonian captivity they returned back to jerusalem but jerusalem is in rubbish all but even though it's in rubbish the people of god are so grateful to be out that they return to rubbish with a praise or can them answer you oh yes sir they leave captivity and they come home and everything's in a disarray ain't nothing what it's supposed to be everything is tore up everything is crazy the cross been torn down the steeple is no longer there everything is out of order but they come home and even though it's out of honor they still got to thank you i want to know tonight can you praise god even when it's out of order can you praise god even when it's in rubbish can you praise god even when you can't see your way out you're so happy to be out of what you were going through that you just said god i don't care what it looks like i praise you i praise you in dirt i praise you in rocks i praise you in the crazy i'm just glad to be out oh i ain't talking to nobody because see some of y'all ain't never been through nothing but let me talk to somebody tonight that's been through something and you're so glad to come out of it not just saying to yourself it ain't gonna be perfect i'm just glad that he reached out look down your row and say ro if you can't praise him for coming out then please don't praise him for going in i don't need nobody that can't just bless god because he brought me out of darkness and into his marvelous light i could still be stuck but the reason i'm praising god is because he looked beyond my fault i need everybody that know he brought you out to open your mouth and shout [Music] i'm almost out your way he he brings them out and when they come out the bible says they come out have you preached on me now the bible says they come out and they come back to a town of rubbish they leave psalms 120 in captivity and they come into psalms 134 finding everything just toe down and as we look at this we see the psalms my brothers and sisters psalms 134 representing accomplishment and the reason it is accomplishment is because he brought me from one place to the next can i help you you got to learn how to praise god over the small stuff see some of y'all you waiting too much for the big stuff that you can't praise them for the small stuff yeah the city may be torn down but i'm blessing him because just a few days ago we were stuck but now here we are and now we're out and from psalms 120 to psalms 134 for 14 psalms they're marching up a hill blessing the name of god for 14 psalms they praising god with everything they have and some of us can't praise god for 14 seconds and here they are for 14 psalms going up a hill saying thank you jesus lord you brought us through we were stuck 70 years but look at what you've done if it had not been for the lord who was on my side why would we oh come on in here oh we bless him it is it is it is it is accomplishment watch me i got to leave you alone tonight it is accomplishment not only is it accomplishment but then it is a commandment how you uh the psalm is called amen a call to praise god it is a call to praise the lord watch me for those who work for the lord if you understand what happens in the temple one of the things you would discover is that the priests were to work for 24 hours out of a day they served as guards and they also offered sacrifice and carried out other sacred functions during the daylight hours and during the night hours in the temple but no matter what was going on the temple was never to be left without priests and levites to keep on singing and blessing god for 24 hours the psalmist called on them to praise god even at night if you look at psalms 134 they're not praising god during the day this psalm is calling those who work for god to praise him at night and my brothers and sisters when i looked at this i said to myself i could really work this i really did i said to myself you got to praise him through your storm that's what i was going to put right here you got to praise him while you're going through i was really going to work that i was going to work that praising him at night you got to praise him but you can't see your way through late in the midnight hour god's going and i promise i was going to catch my hollow right there but the deeper i got in the text i could not take the text out of context when he tells them to praise god at night he's suggesting that you've got to learn how to praise god in the night seasons or my brothers and sisters you got to praise god in a time where everybody else is in slumber what he's suggesting is that if praise is to be in the temple all night long i'm commanding a group of people to praise me while everybody else is in slumber i need a people to praise me when there's a people too tired to praise me i need a people to praise me when there's a people too depressed to praise me he says i need somebody who can praise me in the night season the imagery of the text is showing the difficulty of working while others are sleeping it's showing us the difficulty of praising god while other people are silent what the text is really showing us are those who know how to shift an atmosphere because sometimes you come to church and when you come to church you got some people that just don't feel like it you've been working all day you had to go home and cook for the family you had to go home and make sure everything's all right and the truth of the matter is the only reason you even came to church was because you had to sing on the praise team tonight hallelujah but you would have stayed home if you didn't have to sing and what happens is you bring your stale praise with you so you really don't give him a real hallelujah what you do is hallelujah come on move it along but what god says is i need a group of people who don't let the climate of the room dictate the temperature of their praise honda which means even if i don't feel like it i'm commanded to praise god and i'm commanded to keep glory in the room lord who am i preaching to in here i like that brother bless him that's what i'm talking about when you can say listen you ain't never gonna move you ain't never got to say hallelujah you ain't never got a blessing but when i came in here tonight i made up in my life if nobody else bless him i'm coming in with my hands up i'm coming in with my mouth open and i'm coming in oh god where's my glory carriers where's the ones who don't need to be pumped and primed where you can open your mouth and bless them because you know you shift atmospheres you ship glory praise him sister i see some glory carriers i see some glory shifters i see some folk in the room i don't care what it looks like you gotta praise [Music] do me a favor and look at somebody and tell them hey neighbor you ain't got to want to praise god but say never when i came in here tonight tell them i made up in my mind i wasn't going to let nothing hinder my praise because i know it was the lord that has brought me through i don't know tonight who i'm preaching to but i come by to tell you that the bible is still right when you come in you ought to bless the lord at all times and his pride shall continually be in my mouth i like the bible because it says my soul will make a boost in the lord and the humble shall hear thereof and be glad oh [Music] magnify yeah the lord with me oh come on here magnify the lord with me magnify the lord with me i'm waiting on you magnified alone with me and let us exalt his name together i got the clothes i got the clothes i [Music] but before i close tonight i got to tell you that not only do you praise him in the night season because you are a glory shifter but i come by to tell you that the text would suggest that when you praise god in the night season that your praise becomes contagious and if somebody is around you that doesn't want to praise god god says if you would praise him your praise ought to be so on fire that everything that's around you or to catch a hold to your fire and when they catch a hold of your fire it'll cause them to catch on fire too if you don't mind the night do me a favor do me a favor [Music] if you're gonna be around me you're gonna catch on fire y'all don't want to have no church tell them if you're gonna be on this road you're gonna touch on fire if you're gonna sit in this seat you're gonna catch on fire because we all praise god on one accord at the same time because we understand that god is attentive to the adoration of his sayings i got to leave you alone the night but before i leave you i got to tell you what happened with my wife or called soul the lord told me while i was in that bathroom he said praise me now while i was in that bathroom when the lord told me to do it my wife was in the bedroom she was crying and weeping but while she was crying i went to that bathroom i grabbed a hold to the back of the sink when i grabbed that sink i went to dancing while i was in that bathroom this was on the thursday i praised him on that thursday i woke up that friday i looked my wife in the face i said that the doctor called you yet she said no i ain't heard from nobody i went back to that same bathroom i grabbed a hold i woke up on that saturday morning i looked at my wife i said did the doctor call you back she said no boy they don't call on saturdays about i said that's all right i went back to that same bathroom i grabbed a hold of that same sink [Applause] i already knew the doctor wasn't gonna call i went back to that same bathroom i grabbed a hold of that same thing and i went to dancing just one more day when monday came looked at my wife her eyes were pink i could tell she had been crying i said vivian have you heard from the doctor she said no i heard nothing yet she said i'm gonna call right now while she was calling i went back to that same bathroom i grabbed a hold to that same thing i went to dancing just one more day all of a sudden i heard my wife in the room screaming i ran out the bathroom i ran down the hallway i went into the bedroom and my wife was in this screaming she was in that dancing i said what's wrong vivi she kept on screaming and she kept on dancing i said vivian what's wrong she kept on screaming and she kept on dancing and the phone was on the ground i picked up the phone and there was a white lady who was on the other end and all i heard to say was hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah your praise is contagious if you don't mind the night do me a favor and look at your neighbor look at your neighbor look at your neighbor in the face and say hey neighbor if you can praise god god will make sure that your praise gets contagious and say neighbor can i tell you a secret that doctor told my wife she said mrs jacobs i don't know what happened between thursday and monday on thursday i saw cancer but on monday ain't no cancer there on thursday i knew you were sick but on monday i tell you you're healed about on thursday i knew it was bad but on monday i come to tell you it's full i need you to find the neighbor and look that name in the take good care of you if you can praise him he'll bring you through if you can praise him he'll make a way for you if you can praise him he'll make sure that no man what it looks like your praise is gonna turn it around i tell somebody to open your mouth to lift up your hands and to give god glory to praise him like you know your breakthrough is on the way praise him let you know [Music] whatever you need one [Music] he's a shelter in the time of storm and if you can praise him he'll bring you through he'll give you joy he'll make sure it'll be all right somebody leave somebody scream somebody run [Music] [Laughter] like you can feel that the lord is making a way i got too close i'm just so close i gotta close but it's quite close tonight let me tell you what the text says i'm going to leave you alone go and run church because while you're running god's getting ready to heal even right now in the name of jesus but look at the text pastor susan i used to hate it when i would go to concerts and the emcee would tell the people that when praises go up blessings come down i said that in that bible i don't know where they're getting that from but then the lord had to rebuke me he said son i'm the god of reciprocation he said i will not let the people praise me and i don't bless them for praising me i said well lord if that's the case you gotta make it bible well i read it in psalms 134 in verse 1 he said behold bless ye the lord in verse 3 which is the close of the text he said the lord bless thee y'all missed it let me try again in verse 1 he said behold bless you the lord but in verse 3 he said the lord blessed thee you're still ain't got it he said behold bless you the lord but in verse 3 he said the lord will bless thee what i'm trying to tell you is if you would bless the lord the lord would bless you open up your mouth and bless the lord come on blessing come if you bless them he'll bless you if you bless her he'll bless your house if you bless him he'll bless your money if you bless him he'll bless your body if you bless it he'll bring you out i don't know tonight who i'm preaching to but i come by to tell you you got power in your praise when you praise god sickness please when you praise god witches die
