[Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so I intended on this being a very calm atmospheric type video it's impossible to do with these kind of conditions we have this crazy I believe it's called a mesocyclone that is incredibly rare in my part of Washington today I've I don't think I've ever seen one of these is very Midwest south southwest type stuff it's coming right for me so I'm trying to get to a place where I can safely photograph this beautiful beautiful storm cell so we have massive dust storm there's tons of lightning in this and it's about to come overhead so I have to keep moving and try to get somewhere safe that I can hopefully photograph this thing done a couple of some time lapses but have cut up short [Music] [Applause] [Music] so like I said I'm trying to find a fairly safe place to photograph this storm cell so I'm trying to get ahead of it unfortunately I'm not off to the side of it very much I'm more like in the path of it it is kind of moving off to the right so hopefully it's going to pass and there seems to be more lightning on that side of the storm rather than above us which is a good thing scratch that a whole bunch of lightning right over here so I've only got like a few minutes to safely shoot before I have to continue moving I've got my camera set up in a time-lapse it's just taking shot after shot after shot with a small of a gap in between my frames or interval as I can get and just trying to increase my odds of catching a bolt this is frantic this is so frantic there's this dust storm coming there's lightning all over this particular storm cell incredibly dangerous I'm just trying to stay on the outside looking at it and right there is the eye of the storm [Music] [Music] I'm not so sure that I call it a bolt there we just weren't here long enough so I'm going to continue on down the road before that lightening is over the top of me it's much closer than I would prefer to be [Music] pretty intense storm this is a it's it's actually a really huge storm front that's moving through all of kind of Eastern Washington and I've really once it overtook me I've been struggling to get out of it right now where I am currently at a borderline stupid place to be but I'm in a place called Steptoe Butte which is a large Butte and right now there's not really any lightning in this particular storm cell but I'm currently trapped in but there's a lot of winds and a lot of rain as you can probably tell it's kind of a frightening amount of wind I'm worried that it's gonna blow my roof tent off or roll the car it's a lot of wind but this is a very narrow strip of a storm cell so I'm hopeful that it's going to pass and then we're gonna get a gap on the other side of it and hopefully from this vantage point be able to shoot telephoto towards some Lightning I don't know if that's going to work but at the very least things should open up here a little bit hopefully I hope it does because this is pretty scary [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Laughter]
