EXTREME One-Day Breakfast Nook Makeover

today I'm going to show you how I took this Plain Jane dining room area and turned it into a gorgeous breakfast nook Oasis in partnership with the Home Depot come along with me today and I'll show you everything he did to transform this space [Music] to transform this nook I took a picture of it and all my inspiration pieces and place them on the computer to research and then I headed over to homedepot.com slash decor and checked out their website style well is one of their main brands I like to look at very first and then right off the bat I found this table and I immediately afterwards found these pillows and slowly but surely the design of the room started to come together at that point I threw in some screenshots into my design program and just started playing around I found this beautiful light fixture these chairs all on homedepot.com splash decor and slowly but surely just started pulling everything together and trying my very best to create what this space would look like all together as best I could before I went for just everything and I was pretty happy with now this is where the magic started to happen I recruited Tanner to paint this back wall black and I mean the blackest color that I could find at the Home Depot and even though it's not completely dry here I love how it was looking and while he was doing that I was in our driveway staining the bench now this is a floating bench that I created a couple of weeks ago and it looks so good if you want a tutorial for that I have a link for it below next I wanted to replace our light fixture I loved this light fixture and not the shades were like an oblong shape which is more unique I love the gold finish on this light picture that I found on Home Depot's website and I knew that this light fixture was going to look gorgeous against this brand-new black wall so I just went to town with removing the old light fixture that was installed in our house when we bought it and started to install the brand-new light fixture this particular light fixture has adjustable arms which is pretty cool because you can customize it to your space exactly how you want it by moving arms around and so if you've never replaced a light fixture it's very easy and you should not be intimidated although that's not what this video is about I'm really happy with how the light fixture turned out especially after I was able to adjust our arms to my preferences I mean just look at it it's so cute I love the shades so obsessed with his light once we put the bench in place this room really started to feel polished I love how this warm wood brought out the tones in the black wall and I wanted to complement it with something that had whites and blacks and actually also had some goals in it to harken back to the light fixture that we just added with these gold flecks and of course you can't have a cozy breakfast nook with Krauts and pillows so these pillows I selected from Home Depot and I loved how they were some more creams and blacks and I really feel like these pillows were the perfect balance to bring their room we leave together for your courtesy I have a link to all of the products that I'm using in the description below there are a lot of products but I promise you I've linked every single one of them including this blanket throw that I found it's the company store brand and I have so many textiles this one was perfect to go in a basket underneath the breakfast nook in case you needed it I added two more baskets with another pillow and one more blanket for extra coziness next I added the centerpiece I love this base that I found I'm going to go and prepare to be shocked because these plates and bowls this whole date tableware set is also you guessed it The Home Depot they are so pretty I will show you the close-up and and the silverware as well is something to throw it is such beautiful quality these are black project honesty is very hard to find and I love how the people drink out with all of the new table errands of the word [Music] now for a few interior design tips when using accent metals make sure you have it in at least three spots so obviously have the light you see the two frames in the background and the third place that I have gold or in the Flex of this rug I use the same concept on my greenery so I have my plant for I have the faux leaves in my vase and I also have a fill of garbage giving me greenery in three spots tip number two design in threes I have three baskets evenly spaced underneath the bench and this really helps with the rule of thirds to help this bench and underneath it look very balanced tip number three always use silverware and dinnerware when you are styling a kitchen table that knife should go on the right hand side facing inwards spoons on the outside of that and forks on the left this space looks so much better with those things placed on the table tip number four make sure your space is functional as well as a set of food to Zane for me this meant imagining what I would need sitting at this table and it was a really fluffy cozy blanket that I could snuggle up to while sitting here and drinking my peppermint tea and eating breakfast with my boys tip number five splurge on essentials this dinnerware is such high quality and it has these beautiful painted ridges on them I love the lips of the plates pretty much I love everything about them they would be normally slightly outside of my budget but I love them so much and I made wussies tableware that would last me a lifetime so they were worth the splurge they come in completely white as well this blanket is also by the brand the company store from homedepot.com / to quick tip number 6 pillows are the perfect accessory these I think are pretty timeless because of these beautiful macrame tassels and fringe which is so my style but if down the road I'm getting bored of that style it's so easy to switch out the pillows okay there you have it I am so proud of how this room turned out in one day this one day transformation seriously blows my mind just this morning my space looked like this which I liked it was great I had no issues with it but I knew it was time for a sophisticated upgrade and I'm so happy with how it turned out and with a few tips that I shared during this video I hope it encourages you to challenge yourself to a one-day
