hello everyone and well post.com in this video we will show you how to export coordinates from google earth to excel if you like to learn more about the Google Earth you can check my other videos first we will be extracting points coordinates from Google Earth extracting coordinate from polyline or polygons file is slightly different adding a folder in my places right-click on the temporary places and click can't then click on folder enter the name of the folder is placemark and press ok then add a placemark drag to your desired location and give a name in this case I will call it as Junction 1 then add some more placemark you now save the folder that we have created earlier which includes all placemark right-click the folder and then save place as save to your desired location as KML file right click the KML file and open with Microsoft Excel application just select open as XML table you all details of KML file is now imported in excel file from this file we only required coordinates and name fields you coppy both these fields in new sheet you select the coordinate fields and then select text to column select delimited and press next click on comma to separate like long values in different column press next and then finish you your KML file coordinate X in excel file now you can use this file in any GIS software to generate points now let's do it for line or polygon features create a folder and create a line or path feature using the tool you you can change the color and width as per your convenience you save the feature and export it as KML file open the newly created KML file in Microsoft Excel application you here you can see that all the coordinates single polyline feature our store in the same row you to extract the coordinates copy the name and coordinates fields another sheet you select the coordinate column and press text to columns select delimited and click on comma you now select all the coordinate n't you paced s transpose so that all the coordinate pasted below each other you now we have to delete all zero from each rose delete the last row as it only contains zero select zero with space and use Find and Replace tool to remove this values from each row type long and lat against each row you use filter to select all longitude values and then the latitude values and paste in different sheet you while entering the values we use latitude values first and then the longitude values just copy the latitude column and paste it in front of longitude column to check your input just copy the lat/long values and paste in Google Earth you you can also extract coordinates from KMZ file by using the same process you just save your fill as KMZ file you and then extract the KMZ file to kml file now follow the same process I shown you earlier for extracting the coordinate from KML file you please make sure you like this video subscribe spacial post.com YouTube channel and share this on social media visit spacial post.com for more details
