Exploring an Abandoned Children's Asylum with Power - Found Amazing Chapel!

in this episode we're venturing inside an abandoned state school for children with mental disabilities originally established in the early 20th century the state school focused on the care and rehabilitation of children with special needs the institution was owned and operated by the church and incorporated religion into much of their therapy at its peak the complex cared for over 600 patients and students as the popularity of institutionalization declined the dwindling patron count put a lot of stress on the facility in 2009 it permanently closed leaving the entire campus through more easily from this side it's a big open room a clock it looks modern over here it does it looks like a standard school there's some interesting translucent purple curtains in there let's see if we can get up to the second level of the auditorium here oh there's still chairs up here but is there a projector no i didn't expect there to be this design on the side of the chairs is cool though wow that's a lot of water right there 1980 home lights it's like their newspaper [Music] it's a big upright piano this one looks like it'll probably work that one sounded good [Music] there's just two notes though this one doesn't really play [Music] the tall windows are pretty nice it's an old building [Music] look at this plaque here that's pretty cool let's paint it on that one probably just goes up to an attic is this actual floor maintenance this is an actual floor okay but once it goes up it's not because there's a door in front of the staircase yeah this would be the top actual floor that little nook looks cool statue's gone now though this wood pan look at the floor in here holy that's all kinds of messed up this is a music classroom look at the floor it's all bowed in there's mushrooms growing in here really eat one i don't know if i should walk on this because look at the collapse if there's anything down there it looks kind of empty little light fixture all the way over there i bet they were isolated rooms to practice your instrument it's probably so noise would be more isolated purple curtains are interesting though they are is that a cell this is pre-91 yeah just about that when it fell i think so early 90s it's a really nice decayed look there's a lot in here look at this stuff this is a shower tub fill an apollo bath this is old where's the actual tub probably missing there's a shower nozzle here unless this is it behind it that has to be it yeah this probably attached to the front light fixtures everywhere james they're pointing at the building so maybe this is connection and this was walled off styrofoam whatever it was insulation i guess yeah this looks like tunnel indeed looks very like a tunnel look it says school right here so maybe that was just always a purpose no there was another auction paper it said building school two main building that seems like something you'd want it's kind of weird that the walls of the tunnel are painted mint green i've never seen painted cotton walls before danger asbestos actually that's what it says yeah but these are pools holding it up [Applause] [Music] probably maybe yeah here we go yeah there's more tunnels that way too let's go up here though i think dangerous that's this really just came from yeah i don't even know where to start there's a lot of different ways we can go this swing looks cool with the tiling yeah more hospital-like yeah let's just start going down one of these directions is that a light on over there or is that a reflection just find out if these work there that's the answer it's a light on holy you know what that's nutty that's not even a light on we saw before no it just happens to also have power that was just the sunlight that's a big room right here oh man this exit sign is sweet that's super vintage looking those work only one works of these old no these old lights this looks like a big room up here oh boy i think this is the chapel yeah there's still pews look at this [Music] wow this is pretty good for like a modern take this is [Music] [Music] sanctus [Music] this might just be an entrance and exit it's got some cool colors with the stained glass though there might be something down here or it might be basement oh there's something down here it goes down again let's check this out first oh there's other stairs that i saw just go down to the court that's pretty cool [Applause] this is flooded at that that's some deep water gotta get that styrofoam thing over yeah this looks like it could be a bowling alley hope i'm not getting enough stuff for myself oh it's a bowling alley oh it's tiny though nothing special it's like miniature bowling just the air circulation of us walking in here was enough to make that fall or it was a ghost yeah there weren't even pen centers there was just a pad back here [Music] so another chapter this is an old building is that that is on 100 there's a tv and a treadmill in here look at this art in the tiling it's like a whole scenic nature of them so we have the floor changes height in like every room oh yeah that is cool tiling it's like pixel art a wooden staircase going up it's so weird how every section of this building is a completely different style an old bathroom it's old looking with showers what did you i know but like i did not expect that to work do it again for the video i was but like [Music] yeah this building was modernized unfortunately huh this looks interesting it looks like they were in the process of doing something in here look at that whole thing out there a lot of the people in that cemetery were probably patients here it's bathtubs it's very house-like what's that noise [Music] just the way all the edges are jagged and nothing lines up right i hate it so much annoying modernized buildings this is a transition into a different building yeah this already looks better look at all of that wiring up there though it's ethernet i like communication these cabins look pretty old somehow i don't think this was for holy water looks like just a water fountain yeah location rights the patient writes a body cavity search of an inpatient may be conducted only in a clean and private place and only by a physician and whenever possible by a physician of the same sex only when all less intrusive search procedures are deemed inadequate and no you're light you can't even see what the light was on in there okay i can't see how flipped they're on a switch now that's cool this is like crawl space not feeling that damn these tunnels keep going these are expensive casket hole and there's another building this way you want to go in there do you see an arrow anywhere saying what it is okay which way do you think the tunnel continues further so let's go this way first then [Music] [Applause] this is a building in a rough condition oh look it's a ghost again so there's some furniture in here look what the water is done to it that's a good sign this whole building is gross yeah a respirator is a must for right here do you hear power buzzing this power yeah i hear it wanna try a light switch yeah maybe that ac unit that has more scrolling on it you see it it's how it's coming from this i'm just gonna go up to the next floor there's power on look oh look at the fire panel in this building that is crazy that means you touch the wrong thing the fire alarm might go off we're just not touching it well it's not touching anything well it's such a light switch but like well it says alarm silence right now let's find out yeah there's them how is this working that's crazy just leave it all this is probably on the same surgery as this switch i just flipped [Music] i mean this actually looks like fire damage here oh yeah it is definitely fire but there's still power in here yep crazy i'm gonna do it dude they turn on in this hallway look at this holy crap what the that is so crazy what look at the water in there that is insane i've never seen a hallway this decade that still has power in my life this is unreal so unfortunately many of the rooms in the remaining buildings were empty we decided to head back to the
