Exploring an Abandoned and Forgotten Former Funeral Home

what is up guys welcome back to yes another photography abandoned funeral home adventure yes guys you heard that right today we are in a former funeral home very old building uh was once a funeral home closed down it's been vacant for many many many years there are some signs of water damage peeling paint but for the most part guys this is just an empty building that used to be a funeral home so i thought it might be interesting so i have no idea what we're going to find what's to be found in the different rooms it's probably empty but whatever guys it's something to do we're out we're exploring we're gonna check this one out so cue the music cue the intro see you guys on the other side okay guys here we go so we are going to start on the main floor i really don't know what any of the rooms are but i'm sure we'll figure it out as we uh proceed throughout the building but here we are on the main floor again it's a very old building in the city that it's located in um was used as a funeral home for many years uh then it was used for a number of other purposes and now it's just been empty and vacant for several several years there is a vacuum cleaner plugged in right here look at that check it out now i have been trying to get into this building for quite some time uh i believe somebody who follows me on facebook sent it to me like maybe uh two years ago and every time i'm in the area i come by and i check it out to see if i can get inside but i've never been able to get in you can see however outside that someone has been trying over the years to try and get their way in and uh so my friend uh another explorer he he's known as the easy cabrizi uh he's he knows about this place we swapped locations and i sent him this one and he happened to have gotten here at a perfect time because he found it open so it's thanks to my friend the easy cabrizi that we are here and i'm gonna put a link to his youtube channel it's a brand new channel he's just a relatively new explorer to the hobby um but i will link you guys to his channel and you can check out his stuff and say thanks to him for letting me know that this old funeral home is finally open for us to check out i am a little bummed out over the fact that it's that it's looking empty but what can you do right like i always say guys they can't always be time capsules they can't always be incredible amazing places full of stuff take what you can get guys the good with the bad right right this looks like it might have been like a maybe a banquet room that where they would hold uh like the wakes after a service maybe i don't know it definitely doesn't look like it would be a viewing room unless i'm i could be wrong there's a look towards the front door there now this is likely a viewing room right here i will cover this up so you can't see it because it has the name of the place but there is a funeral sign there that they would put on cars and it's really the only thing left in this building to tell you that it was a funeral home you really wouldn't know unless you already knew so this definitely looks like a viewing room but it's empty okay we're back let's head down to the basement uh for all here first i'll show you guys the kitchen there's a kitchen in here there is power as you can see there's my photo gear right there but yeah as you can see the lights are on there is power and this is the room that we started in this will take us upstairs and we'll finish off upstairs we'll go downstairs first so here we'll make our way down here and if you look up there is some pretty uh significant water damage on the ceiling and it is it got a constant drip dripping right down through the uh the light fixture and that is concerning knowing that there's power still connected here and uh the water is dripping through the ceiling down the light fixture onto the carpet so this down here is where nobody's supposed to go in a funeral home and here is probably the prep room yes this would be the prep room but there's no table tables are gone unfortunately i did do a funeral home once that had uh that had the prep table it had the embalming machine and all that but this one's got nothing now what's interesting is that this location doesn't have an elevator but the prep room is downstairs so they would have had to carry the bodies and or the caskets downstairs and upstairs interesting and really there's nothing in any of these uh drawers they're all empty so anyways so this is the prep room and there's a wee little tiny mirror right here you can probably get a wee little what is up guys can you see me yeah there we are yeah what's up guys moving on we've got uh umbrellas and storage back here and some kind of an office back here my guess is this would have probably have been a casket where you purchase caskets or for rentals they'd probably have caskets and coffins on display in this room i don't know maybe i'm wrong just another empty room here i'm not going to spend much time here we're just going to take a quick look there we go okay another empty room it's warm in here and then we've got bathroom right there whoop-dee-doo bathroom right there to do electric panel alarm panel okay guys take a quick break then i'm gonna head upstairs and then up upstairs to the third floor check out the third floor and then we'll wrap it up this would be a short one but be right back guys okay let's head upstairs to the second floor and then i'm told there's a little like a secret little staircase that goes up to a third floor attic okay interesting here so there's the stairs and we come through there's a thick door here and the privacy curtain so here is likely the viewing rooms [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so okay guys let's head upstairs to the third floor attic see what's up there there you go a little little secret door here goes into this little storage area here and then up these little set of stairs now there is a fire a smoke detector up here beeping and really i think it's just three rooms up here in the attic this would have been a bathroom at one time here's your shower right here it's this oh this would have been a mirror right here and then there's one more little room here what's in here filing cabinet probably empty a little storage room up here i'm guessing this was probably a one-time windows that went out the back radiator in the closet that's weird eh do you guys say radiator or radiator radiator or radiator flashlight or flashlight okay guys that's a wrap on this one old abandoned vacant funeral home old historic building what more can i say that's really what it is an empty building empty building empty house empty funeral home not really much to say here guys but i hope you guys have
