wagyu beef vs kobe beef let me tell you something the beginning of videos it's actually really hard mentally to not just be like hey guys this video is about this like every other youtuber does so to be able to be clever and a little bit more creative takes actual thought it sucks in this video today I wanted to kind of redo with a previous video I did about Wagyu beef which in general is a little bit more robotic and I said Wagyu beef is it a Wagyu booth Wagyu booth Wagyu beef so not only do I want to pronounce Wagyu properly I can't say that so not only don't want to pronounce Wagyu properly I want to actually give a video that has a little bit more personality of you know who I am and how I talk instead of just kind of being mr. Roboto and making it feel a little too educational and a little too soulless which is what one of my friends says they asked me if I was nervous and it was just that I wanted to feel professional and feel educational and I just I just it just didn't cut it so in this video I'm gonna talk about my Wagyu beef experience in Tokyo and what I did was I basically went to a geek aku-aku I'm gonna say it's you Kaku which is the the tables in the middle that have the grill and you cook it yourself and I believe that's what it's called let's see what Google says cube cocktail that was right so I went to a GU Kaku restaurant and I ordered the second most expensive Wagyu beef that they had there and come to find out it was a platter for two people I then ate it got mildly drunk with some locals there and I got incredibly sick because of overall how savory and how rich it was how much I ate and the amount of alcohol that I consumed because of the locals thinking I was hilarious while I was filming this delicious pile of meat morsel deliciousness now let's learn a little bit about wag you betta said I said again Wagyu wag you walk you a little bit about Wagyu beef well you beef just means wah Japanese and you cattle Japanese cattle Japanese beef now the most famous of the Wagyu beef is Kobe which everyone knows Kobe beef is oh like a god tier copay has certain standards that has to pass and it gets stamped with a chrysanthemum seal to be known as Kobe beef it also has to come from the globe a Prefecture this makes up 10% of the Wagyu beef in Japan and is the most famous one in the entire world let me tell you something about a majority of the restaurants that are foreign that have you know coal Bay or Wagyu beef they're lying to you there's like very few places that actually can import Japanese beef and I guarantee you unless they're super ritzy and glitzy that's not Kobe beef and that's not boggy beef it's completely false it might be the same type of cattle as in like it's the same breed ish strain that they got in America but the ones in Japan are literally treated like kings from the age of like I think it's two months to seven months they fought they feed and like meadows with little dandelions and just fresh grass and then they're given nutritious straw after that as well as like a balanced diet with incredibly high nutrients the meat of while you walk you got to make sure mentally I'm saying it right the Wagyu beef is actually incredibly high in vitamins and minerals because of how perfect the cattle are treated and how the beef gets marbled throughout it gives you a significantly richer flavor and I significantly you know softer mouthfeel so BM s which is the beef marbling standard is how they grade beef it goes from one to five one being the lowest and five being the highest to grade it on marbling and that grade is dependent on other grades from things like this color firmness and texture color and quality of the fat warbling and then you get the letter you know the a B or C in front of the meet by how much yield you get isn't like how much you pop out of the cow so a5 Wagyu beef is the highest-quality Wagyu beef you can get and to be known as go baby f-- it has to be I believe a three to a five to be Co Bay and then I get certified stamped shipped off I would do a restaurant had a platter you know for two people by myself I went there you know salt peppered it grilled it up absolutely delicious they give you the term you know melts in your mouth is actually legitimately melts in your mouth the melting point of the fat in the beef it says lower than the temperature of your mouth so when you put in your mouth that gonna actually just disintegrates now I had Kobe beef and I had bog you beef I don't know what the type I could have also been go bank but the Kobe beef that I had in akihabara which is the tourist destination so it could have been a trap Kobe beef was significantly less tasty than the one that I had at the actual keikaku restaurant and I would highly recommend this experience over you know the other Kobe experience I found this beef at the U Kaku significantly more delicious I like cooking it was experience that I wanted to do was cooking myself you know they give you a bunch of different sauces to try it with heat it up delicious morsels when I was there I was filming and I got you know the footage you'll see in this video and there was two local businessmen that were you know having a jolly old time drinking and eating beef you know asking me you know what she was she only she you know is a delicious and delicious and first I'm just like hi hi hi and then you know they told me filming with my camera and they thought it was hilarious so they started buying me which cuz everybody drinks it wasn't sake I've had sake it was I think was just like straight grain alcohol I'm pretty sure they're just pumping with like straight grain alcohol they got me mildly drunk and I stumbled back to my hotel it was a great time I would highly recommend it to Danny well now something you might ask well did this beef taste like the first beef I had was the co baby if I had it on a skewer and this one was interesting because it was seared on both sides I was probably you know medium rare the middle had to take a guess from what I remember and when I put in my mouth it instantly disintegrated there was no chewing involved it just gone it was like tasting a it was like bringing a meat broth that was once a solid like I was eating like a bouillon cube I guess it was incredibly flavorful incredibly savory and incredibly rich and you could just feel the fats coat the inside of your mouth it was tasty but it was way too rich for me it kind of almost you eat five pieces and you're full your body doesn't know what to do with all that fat just fills you right up now at the you Kaku the meat was definitely deliciously marbled but it had more of a bite to it and more of a texture you put in your mouth and all it slowly melted you kind of chewed a little bit and you got more flavor out of the experience I also like that they add the additional sauces they have I believe it was like a hot chili sauce like a sesame garlic soy sauce as well so you can eat the meat you know just salt and pepper then try it with some sauces and it's definitely a nice change to the experience I personally would recommend the you Kaku over just having it on a skewer and you can always do the teppanyaki which is the hibachi style where you go to a place you kind of sit at a table they have a hot flat top grill in front of you chef chops it up with some vegetables and serve you both great experiences that I highly recommend this is the end of the video this is a shorter version a little bit more you know personal version of the previous video I made if you want to see the robotic version with me pronouncing while you incorrectly and me having an incredibly long hair
