Expensive Gear Wont Improve Your Music

hi I'm the magpie instead of answering the question do you really need a high end gear expensive gear to make great music which is of course a stupid question that's like asking do you need good tasting alcohol to get drunk we're expensive alcohol to get drunk yeah you get my point instead we're going to ask can you make great music with something potentially really [ __ ] crap who cares I'm gonna make music with this [ __ ] cat keyboards today hopefully it works like I got it on eBay for like 20 bucks you think that's fair did I get scammed classic won the music can't keyboard hopefully it's polyphonic so hopefully we have have all the sounds we need in this one to make and actually interesting beat or something with it oh that's never happen 27 years alive and that has never happened I think it's a sign it's a good day it's a great day today I can feel it feels painful in my eye it's purring maybe that's dying battery or something I like that it's got like covers on it on the ears that's the main reason I got it surprisingly low volume in this one from the speaker that's a good sign in this case because that makes me think that it's fairly easy to just turn the speaker into an output so that's what we're gonna do is that sheeting yeah the rules are of course extremely simple I can't do anything else that's the rules I would like to probably transpose down octave to do bass I guess that's cheating so it's gonna be no bass but I mean let's check how low it actually goes though when it's not a speaker I just bypass the speaker I put output I put it in the eye because there's a lot of space there Plus that looks stupid you're gonna hear all the audio from this microphone and what's happening in the computer into the zoom h5 from the fireface UC or ma my audio interface old computer but Cubase 9.5 is where I'm going to do doesn't matter what door you have when you do this kind of [ __ ] you know got a lot of white noise I could have probably circuit bent it to go down an octave but I guess she's wearing the door like I can [ __ ] with the sounds right I can put delay I can put I can do VST stuff because that's what you got in the computer so we're not really cheating with that so I'm gonna filter out some of that white noise we have there we got drum kids but yeah meow meow that was kind of cool because that's like a woman saying yeah we got a cat song in another song what huh copyright strikes don't mean YouTube Hitler's a rock who plays rock like that and then slows down like in tempo a little bit that was nice okay that was not something weird feels this is techno just so you know disco is [ __ ] up I like blues I think we can go down in tempo ah stop the gnosis stop okay so we got a mic here we're gonna record this is a neat effect pulls it right back in there but it doesn't really turn it off sadly that would have been cool if it was like a physical watch that turns it off okay let's get into this we're gonna have to figure out the BPM on the fly so I think this one is the one we're gonna go with [Music] [Music] Wow let's go with it let's go with the meow [Music] this obviously I've added some delay memory Barbarossa my pinky ponky punky punky just there's no base still don't tell anybody but I'm sort of [ __ ] [Music] it's time to try to utilize the microphone [Music] the lyrics at all maybe I just yeah maybe I just improvise lyrics revolving around meowing so I go like maybe I'm a meowing maybe I'm purring maybe I'm slurring slurping on milk [Music] written in short lyrics yeah yes that that this [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah I think that's gonna cover it I think that's gonna be all for the lyrics and [ __ ] so now I'm just gonna arrange it a little bit label mixing you know and then I'm gonna play you the song it's a very short song but it is an experiment maybe it'll grow into an actual song but then I'm gonna bring another shed today everything was done with this one I cheated with the bass I just yeah I needed darker tones you know other than that it's a really minimalistic production limited to just a few tracks but that's kind of cool because I think what I'm trying to prove is that music is not in the gear you have it's in your balls or vagina but if you have great gear that's probably a plus accountant but it's really nice to have the contrast of really bad gear together with high-end gear that's what I believe now you know ten tips to become a really good person [Music] maybe Oh [Music] okay so what I need to do now is actually just wait for it to if you don't have any action with it don't do [ __ ] Mike not included Mike doesn't count apparently so if you don't play anything it will plead this short tune thingy sound that sounds awful awful awful you're gonna hear it soon and then it dies so it goes into bypass I guess saving that old battery and it's a small meow in that that I'm gonna save and then we're done with this tiny tune made with only this one that is what it is I'm also drunk now which might not be appropriate when working with toys wait wait wait wait wait might record some cat sounds of myself and [ __ ] like that I don't know come on it felt like it came really quickly all the time when I was recording vocals so it's taking a long time now sort of yeah they're always like that when you gotta wait for something you know I think waiting for stuff slows down time just what it is you see no I can't see seconds on camera but I'm positive waiting here we go yay thank you for watching this video see nice tuned Magpies I used to run around with this thing in my cart while zoning all the time. Learned how to play a few songs. Anyone else play with this instead of zoning? My last TL banned me from having it at the electronics boat!
