Evil Genius 2 #1 - First Playthrough Begins!

is evil genius 2. out today march 30th 2021 thank you everybody for joining me on the stream holy crap i'm a little hyped my volume is spiking like crazy let me know in the chat if volume balance is a thing evil genius 2 is a bit weird the music volume is awfully quiet and everything else is a bit loud so i've done some tweaking hopefully we're good to go and if you're watching this from the future i've probably got video bookmarks to help you navigate this stream because this is going to be a long one i've played just enough to get a feel for what's going on and so i haven't gotten very far in the campaign story whatever so this is mostly a blind run i'm sorry a first run twitch doesn't like it when you say blind run now luckily i'm not on twitch anyway we're picking our boy red ivan might makes right even born in battle ivan is capable of martialing a large number of muscle minions without paying quite so much even his workers pack a better punch hell yeah and i love his info here life in hammer's military was far too peaceful for red ivan's taste after earning his nickname on the battlefield he established himself as a fearsome gun for hire when the last evil genius arose he immediately joined up and made himself an invaluable henchman as a reward for his service he was gifted with a country of his very own to rule with a literal iron fist the citizens of ivania never questioned their leader and since his last employer disappeared there he has stayed until now yes i get my control over my rocket launcher which i really like so there are three islands to choose from i did a little poking around and i like cane key because in cane key the way it's built is anyone who arrives to the island must go through the casino first which means that it can as it says in the description uh turn into a war zone if we're not careful ivan is not careful but we do not care so we are going to go here and blow some up basically uh i've got some dlc stuff uh that i saw that question on the rebellion uh discord if you have dlc stuff it asks you to put it in your game at this step and then you can set your difficulty level we don't need the tutorial since i've been through it another quick warning if you haven't played yet if you enable the tutorial it takes hours even in fast forward it really wants to guide you through every step of the process not necessarily a bad thing for new players but it can be a little aggravating for those of us who have played evil genius before but it's not so bad but normal difficulty no tutorial third island red ivan vanilla play-through since this is day one we have no mods yet so here we go um his hat reminds me of m bison from street fighter indy oh i'm gonna not talk over this [Music] oh evanya i miss you ah i miss you do you want to go back eventually years for now there is work we must do here far from crying eyes when i miss my palace my wardrobe build me a new inner sanctum somewhere i can gather my allies your vaults are full my vaults are full thank you karen do i even have vaults i don't have anything oh man they really start me with nothing when you don't do the tutorial that's fine by me let's get to building so i'm going to be playing a lot of this and fast forward because of just how much nonsense there is um it's it's a very slow paced game now it that suits me just fine but i can see how some people would not like it yeah thank you karen i'm i'm on it give me give me a hot minute to get my money situation dealt with first and then i will attend to your every desire um so building is a little bit funky now um and by the way i'm not used to the game at all i did not get any uh uh i did not get a pre-release copy so i am a little i'm basically learning as i go along with the rest of you who may have gotten the game and if you saw my first run of evil genius 1 you know my first run was a bit on the wonky side as it is but we're going to get started here get ourselves a vault and eventually we will get our inner sanctum and everything done there's a lot to do before we even get to the inter the inner sanctum so oh that's another thing i like when you move your evil genius he really books it like this is normal speed he is clearly running around faster than his minions so he knows what to do which is awesome um please tell me size glorious rocket launcher yes and you control the button now we'll blow somebody up before the stream's done believe me um there are a lot of quality of life improvements over evil genius one that i like and we'll kind of get to that but i want to save a lot of the critique talk i haven't played the game long i like i said i got it with the rest of you so i'm still forming all of my opinion about it but some of the stuff like going to the world map and sending out people to do things it's a lot smoother um i like it it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and that's fine all right so let's extend our corridor and someone asked me in my discord i'd oh no no earlier in the chat sorry uh if i'm going to be using corridors for once what with the more limited building space and such um yes because they have made one big change to security cameras that as far as i'm aware security cameras can only go in corridors now oh shut up i'll worry about that in a hot minute karen um so there will be a lot more corridors in my builds now than there would be in other situations all right i need my uh let's extend this corridor out and we will set up a power room over yonder not enough gold to complete this construction yep i'm aware karen thank you okay let's do uh get some generators going and yeah if you see me doing weird clicks like that where the menus are popping up like do you want to cancel all this i'm just hitting the buttons i'm used to for evil genius one and so my fingers are still kind of getting used to the new control schemes it's not bad um there's nothing wrong with the control scheme it just takes a hot minute to figure out especially if you're used to the first one all right catching up on the chat rq dropping a like red ivan being a crazy russian m bison yes for for most people destroying their destroying their homes and taking their money is the worst thing that's ever happened to them and for red ivan it's just tuesday um see when i see ivan i'm not gonna lie he looks like a moba character because of the cape yes most certainly i also love that he's like 50 feet tall like you can see it here he just kind of towers over his little minions well maybe not so much maybe he's like six six or so oh whatever all right yeah i know no power no power no money either for power we'll get it don't worry um see so one of the ways you get money early on is with these optional objectives um so after the scout did i already screw myself there's no way it screwed myself did i oh i may have screwed myself hold on a minute i think i got a little you're running out of gold yeah i did okay i got a little anxiou over anxious hold on a minute hold on a minute building too fast as i do just like city builders all right let's sell my gold pallets that aren't being used we'll just start with that um oh oh right and then another pyro pro tip uh when you start off your casino has a bunch of crap you can sell all of these things that are in here can be sold without repercussions like these abandoned crates these uh just well i guess they're all abandoned crates this broken fountain like all of this can go um you want to have enough money that you can power a single radio transceiver and then you can get people out into the world map and then everything will be fine and that is what i'm trying to do so here's my radio repeater uh confirm all oh yeah it's gonna take my people a second to catch up to all those orders no problem yep yep they're on their way so as you can see even in fast forward it's a bit of a slow pace i will do a full run of the show um i mean of the game uh and we will be i'll be doing a lot of cutting out for some of the repetitive stuff all right what was my optional objective finish scouting western anvil okay uh western anvil scout okay we only have one radio repeater so i cannot do more than one uh place and that's fine we will get there i just need to get some sort of gold income coming and let's start getting ourselves some more minions and that's gonna bother me if i don't line it up properly because i am a lunatic doors are one by four rather than being one by two all right on our ever classic pile of uh lockers there we go okay haven't seen this map before crazy nice they only come from the front probably chaotic once you get valets oh yeah yeah and it'll be even more chaotic when i let uh ivan go into things with his rocket launcher armed and ready that's why i like it there are each of the maps have different pros and cons which are listed on the map selection screen has been established for example i think the first one the default one i guess has a lot of underground space so it's well defended eventually once you start getting elevators or whatever and you can start taking advantage of different floors but here i want the chaos because you know red ivan and we've got an investigator on his way another one of the weirder mechanics changes is that the item to destroy body bags goes in the power room of all places so i better set that up immediately because it seems that we have someone coming in four minutes all of these clocks here are real time it's just fast because i'm playing on fast forward right now but um that helps you sort of judge how long things will take which is cool uh okay so all right so we finished scouting western anvil so i'll collect that reward get ourselves another radio repeater this build order will drain all your power supplies that's less than good was not factoring in my there we go it's not factoring in my incinerator uh what's the stream style gonna be like is the whole thing gonna be episode one yes this will all be episode one um with uh future video bookmarks so you can hop around a little bit easier if you're watching from the future and then from here on out we'll have 20-minute episodes as usual it might take me a minute to record the videos and get them up for you all but uh they will come i am doing a full run of this game if not more than one all right scout central smash you got it buddy build more generators uh and if that seems like you are uh being kind of handheld about where to go note that you don't have to do that in my side run when i was running through the tutorial i looked through all of south america first for my uh for my criminal networks just for shits and giggles basically because smash has historically been the weakest of the forces of justice so it doesn't matter you can do whatever you want to do i'm just doing this for the little extra cash i'm going to get out of it and i'm going to expand my power room again already so far i have seen that the power room just does not generate enough power for your evil plots most of the time so that's something i definitely need to keep up on karen is very chatty with me today too all right so things are going fine so far so now that we have our first um we have our our communication network this is how you gain most of the money you find a mission which are these little icons here and you can see when it expires how much heat gets added in this case our reward which is 20 000 gold your workers are now expendable resources once they go on a mission they don't come back but they're guaranteed to succeed unlike evil genius one where you kind of had to babysit them i am super happy with that particular quality of life change so like this one's a quickie i expend three workers for three minutes and get 10 grand back totally fine by me don't need confirmations anymore thank you um so yeah those three minions i just sent they're not coming back and that's okay because minions come a lot faster than they used to and it just doesn't matter they are expendable resources and it's i have to admit my heart kind of did a little joking sorry for all you non weebs who uh or when i was doing the tutorial because when you send your first minion off on their adventure they're like i'm gonna come back with money and rhett ivan's like no don't do that first of all you're gonna bring the forces of justice against me the second of all take a little gold for yourself live a nice quiet life somewhere just send the rest back i'm like oh that's so nice shut up karen so it's it's almost like red ivan has a heart of gold or a heart of a gold-plated rocket launcher you know whatever i guess researching better generator is one of the first things you should do in my opinion yes the tutorial recommends that the first thing you should do is increase your minion capacity and i find that incredibly silly because what who oh you guys are bad people oh you saw my i don't care i don't even care enough to stop you um because it's so much easier and long time long term better to just build more lockers because you can see how small the lockers are they're only 2 000 a piece i mean like the first technology gives you 10 minions whatever like you can easily get that just by throwing down some lockers and being done with it so there's no reason for it um but yes i i recommend going for power immediately because power oh boy i i i would have put a little bit more power into the generators because they do not give you very much so um but this is good enough for now um we'll get there i can't believe i've been playing fast forward this whole time all right so uh i guess the next thing we need to do [Music] is we need to make the oh i guess i can run the corridor this way all right that's what's going on all right fair enough corridor do um so while this is going on i need to keep an eye on the world stage as they call it and look for any advanced minions [Music] i don't see them yet yeah i don't see any special minions yet i'm probably gonna have to build more stuff first unless i just can yeah i can't yet okay so i'm gonna have to look for where they are that's fine um so the downside to running missions now is when you run a mission you can see on the left side it says heat gain to region in this case 15 and every region has a max so here in central smash i currently have a heat of 21 there's a maximum of 50. so when this caps out all that happens is your network is shut down for about three minutes of real time during that shutdown you can't run any more schemes and your passive income disappears but then after three minutes it restores itself and you're good to go so i like that quality of life change you can just spam money in the same area for a while and then when it shuts down you just relax for a minute and then it'll come back and it's fine um it's a good way to get money without having to worry too much about what's going on on the world map so we're going to keep the money train coming because i need money i'm down to 18 grand it's not enough to run very much and we've got 37 minions so like you know losing six minions is nothing minions come awfully fast um especially in fast forward mode you can force a higher as you can see here um but yeah they come every minute it's it's not a big deal they come so fast it generally doesn't matter and if you think about it a three minute mission that expends three minions means you're not ultimately losing minions on the deal it's a net zero trade-off by the time the mission is finished so it's not so bad i am enjoying it uh side stories yes there is also a side stories thing that is where to go to get your advanced people uh oh optional yay uh minion recruitment yup i'll deal with them in a minute thank you actually i had forgotten about that from the tutorial um wow yeah keep it keep it going guys just more lockers all of the lockers give me all of the lockers so yes the way i prefer playing is setting up my infrastructure like this first and then i'll worry about everything else these are even these minions who are just like it's quite upsetting well that was quick here ivan why don't you sh why don't you show off your uh your rocket launcher for everybody they won't be back no don't why are you just punching them okay well that's fine there you go that's what i want to see ivan i mean it's fine that we have four dead people it's they'll be all right they'll they'll probably be fine okay uh so i need an armory if i'm going to start kidnapping people let's see yeah all right let's build the corridors out this way you're running low on power oh i know i know karen power power power power power [Music] i do wonder if there's an option where i can tell karen to stop talking so much because my god she is noisy all right ah checking the chat again glad i found the stream and anxiously watching the clock before getting off work yeah i feel ya i've been uh i pushed myself past midnight last night not realizing the game didn't unlock until 11 eastern this morning which is fine but i want to make sure everything was functional for doing this stream because i did not want to have any last second problems hey more investigators are showing up the nice thing about only having one entrance to worry about is that i can see when they come here we go here's the cruise ship we'll just tag them immediately once they pop out there is no shortcut as far as i know to tag everybody like there was in uh evil genius one which is a little obnoxious but nothing you can't handle and there goes my team they're immediately getting their asses handed to them okay yeah we need uh we definitely need to i wonder if i can take this group without dying holy yeah ivan will be fine hi minion yeah thanks for the help buddy okay why did this guy not turn into a huh he didn't turn into a body bag or if that was a bug yes we will crush them ivan it's it's fine okay so um let's see uh that'll probably lead to the silo or something eventually all right so we need our armory um all right so do and make a sizable armory with a door that is not what i meant to do actually cancel that what i need is a prison it's a different room now still getting used to some of the little changes baby um with that and then [Music] the put that and then that boop okay and nope don't revert everything there we go only because i like having it all nice and squared up and i guess while i'm at it i could add a second cell oh we'll have enough gold karen hush your face in fact let's go run some missions on the map and then we'll have plenty of cash uh not the 51 because that'll take a half hour of real time uh this one okay back to fast forward speed so quick pull in the chat which of you have the game already i mean like if you pre-ordered it if you know you're gonna get it when you're back from work et cetera et cetera like who of you are getting at day one personally i couldn't wait i knew it wouldn't be exactly the same as evil genius one but that's fine i didn't want something exactly the same as evil genius one because if i wanted to play evil genius one i'd go play evil genius one so this has been uh a nice little trait um computer didn't meet the specs oh i'm sorry to hear that yeah i've i've been in that position before where i've wound up spending an exorbitant amount of money just to upgrade my computer for one game it's never a good feeling it's it's never a good feeling um i remember i think my biggest one was friggin what was it microsoft flight simulator last year that was it i spent way too much money buying a new computer just to run mfs and uh it worked but good lord all right we need scientists because i can handle the little you're running out of gold oh shut up um i can handle the little weaklings who are being sent to me so let's grab some scientists thus we've been trying all morning but we need your help solving a problem this thinking stuff is hard i suppose we can't all be towering intellects very well that devious issue requires my attention what are these pieces of string attached to our boots was this your problem i didn't hear that line in the tutorial no wonder our research department hasn't been delivering time to train some smarter minions [Music] rolls asks uh playing it no matter what however what is the overall thoughts so far initial reactions i'm enjoying it um as i as i just mentioned i i knew it wouldn't be evil uh oh red alert oh yeah red alert is very dramatic in this game ivan i need you down here buddy everyone's got to die oh god um i guess we're good um but yeah i'm enjoying it a lot it's not evil genius one plus stuff and i never thought it would be evil genius one plus stuff um that's the problem with when games get long-awaited games get sequels that sometimes the expectations are just too high i just i knew it would be fun um you know uh i was gonna get it no matter what regardless as well i'm enjoying it it's cute it runs well i haven't had any technical problems i've heard some people have had crashes but uh for me it's been nothing but smooth um oh here's another little thing so down here on this icon yeah you can see my cursor good you can see the little two and that is how many current networks you have in the world that can run a mission so that's a handy little thing to keep your eye on if you are as i am kind of low on cash and i see that i have a two there so that tells me hey there's two regions where i can get some cash now granted the problem with this is eventually my heat's gonna cap in those areas for a little while but that's okay that's totally okay at least we've got some money coming in um okay so other optional objectives i need southern saber and any oh southern saber and northern sabre okay you got it southern saber northern sabre southern saber northern sabre got it [Music] oh the uk is hammer now oh that's weird that the uk is hammer oh that's so weird well whatever if i get to piss off smash that's fine because it gets me one step closer to possibly encountering my old nemesis who supposedly is dead forever but i don't trust anything john c john steele's mom is so fat that if she fell into a swimming pool they'd rename her the ever given anyway i can't wait to find him and crush every spirit and bone in his body simultaneously all right let's get some more gold pallets all right doing good all right uh yes my little people also need some rest a new criminal network has been established excellent please send me more cash actually no get me a scientist uh oh that one's still being established where is it which one got established this one i don't have a scientist available there i have one there i saw one over here i can get the scientist over here but i've got to wait for the current scheme to be finished which it will be in a minute 10 seconds on normal speed so that is fine i'd laugh if they made a simpsons mod for this and made mr burns the evil genius that'd be dope yeah that's fine minions will not return they're set up and they're retired somewhere they're having a nice little vacation permanent vacation that sounds evil um oh man i'm in kind of a all right there's a lot of soft dirt over here so the different kinds of dirt can be cut through but you need technologies for it so on the left this is softer we can get through this on the right here this is tough dirt and we're gonna need a uh we're gonna need some tech to get through there but that's okay we will get there um how about this let's do that and then we will add a mess hall here there we go putting doors for all of your rooms is not necessary especially your safe rooms but i do it just for i don't know aesthetics i guess that is a very tiny mess haul that is not going to last me very long but it's good enough for now um what i'll likely do is put the infirmary there and once we expand this away i'll put the mess hall over this away i'm kind of spreading myself out a little bit for better or worse okay launching the scheme to get myself a scientist i hope we get a mod to bring back the old announcer don't know why they went for the boring robot the old one had so much charm yeah yeah um i mean this one's sassy but i'm getting bored of sassy because sassy ai is just sort of a thing that's everywhere now especially in games and i'm just i'm i'm kind of bored of it it serves the purpose nothing wrong with the game or you know the the choice they made oh i shouldn't have done it that way okay so another thing if you haven't played the game there is a dirt wall now this is your eraser essentially you can erase whatever you want that way um so you don't have a proper uh delete room like there used to be but that serves the purpose maybe even a little better because then you can later even trim your rooms to the exact specifications that you may want later oh god that is yeah we're going to need a bigger mess hall sorry guys i will work on that little just just hang on minions most of you don't need to eat anyway it's it's probably fine um so we are doing the scheme to kidnap the scientist the helicopter is on its way there it is and now the countdown is starting and we'll have them in 20 seconds or less since i'm on fast speed here turns out fun fact i looked this up before the stream i don't know why we are in the andaman and nicobar islands or so that is the location of our current lair just right about here i know nothing about them i just looked up their location on earth just for funsies and uh that's what i got all right so let's slow down so i can think a little bit uh boop now let's go one deeper revert mess hall like that there we go mess hall and then boop boop let's do three of them [Music] okay we have captured an intruder excellent thank you karen um oh i could actually move these one down okay good enough add the door build it all right so we have our intruder in the laser gridded uh thing here hello mr scientist whoops i have a as soon as i click you correctly there we go escort prisoner to the interrogation chair i'm going to speed this up a little bit but we'll get to a nice little close-up of what's going on to this scientist lady [Music] optional objective complete that's that's not really interrogation that's just whapping her with a frying pan sized light and painting her with paints and giving her a wet willow you are a very weak old scientist and now you're dead so how do you feel about that all right so let's get a training room established i'm gonna make it obnoxiously big for a second uh okay and we'll set the corridor to the end and i'll wind up turning the corridor off this direction eventually okay so now put a door and then a couple scientists training seems a lot faster in this game um one of the big changes they made another good quality of life change in my opinion is that your minions can train themselves into doing a job even without a trainer now so if you run out of guards for example you can still train guards um it'll just why did i move whatever uh it'll just take longer that way so we've got a couple things here for scientists uh once we get that done we're running just a wee bit low on cash luckily we've got four missions we can do here oh um so here by the way speaking of the heat thing you see that my heat is a 46 out of 50. there's no penalty for an overrun that i've seen so even though the next one is going to add 15 heat it doesn't make it take any longer it still just causes a shutdown in the area and then you can't get anything from it for a while not a huge deal just you just always want to keep up with your cash because money will go awfully fast in this game and now that you're limited in cash based on the number of pallets you have you want to always make sure you've got a bit of an income all right i get the impression that ivanya was a lot like underlen from venture brothers good comparison um okay all right so here's where i think the delete room would be useful i want to get rid of this mess hall entirely but there's no easy way to do that um you can select for example the infirmary is what i want to change it to but it won't overwrite itself i don't think oh it will do it you just have to kind of finagle things okay that's cool so you can't override a room all right awesome did not realize that was a thing that two should be good enough cool not enough power to power this build order not enough power of course there's not enough power never enough power power power power not enough gold to complete this construction it's all right karen i'm on it uh let's see what oh cause oh so it just straight won't let you build something now if it would cut something else off that's interesting too all right how's that game now will you let me build one there look at that yeah i get what you're doing all right have at it um i might even narrow this corridor so i can put a security camera to guard the power room and make sure no one gets that close i would suppose the other thing is i have trouble seeing where my people or where the agents of good are like these jerks i'm just going to let them go because they're they're getting out of here too easily but like um back in evil genius one everything was color coded in such a way that it was very easy to see immediately where certain people were whether the good people were around whether the bad people were around and so on and it just it's a little harder now um i don't think it's bad it's just something to get used to so i'm gonna double up my doors here a little bit hopefully that'll slow down the agents a little bit the nice thing of having only one entrance is eventually we'll have that entrance very very well defended um and i will be able to control who's coming in a lot easier try typing human z into the keyboard no cheats no cheats at all uh let's see i'm gonna be in some city mode decorating stuff and forgetting about the evil thing hey i feel you there's a lot of decor here um to add to the kind of 70s vibe you can even put lava lamps everywhere and they're free so all that it matters is just like it's like there you go takes a little time but we're gonna have a hallway full of nothing but yeah we're gonna cover up the fire alarms that's probably fine too um that is one tile off and that is gonna bother me a little bit anyway um you know they don't even drain power they just kind of exist you can decorate a lot of your base with them for no reason and i think they change color yeah they change color based on what room they're in so in the mess hall they're green no reason for it just for fun is there an auto decorating option um i don't believe so certainly not for these uh decor items that um are placeable because this is taking up a tile so it is restricting your minion movement a little bit they'd want to make sure that you know how everything is planned out a scheme has succeeded oh shoot i haven't issued my science minions we need five science mini make that ten make that five scientists minions all right okay so now that we've got some training going on let's um i'm gonna plan ahead here yeah that should be all right and then we can go like that yeah there we go corridors are cheap man you can whoa okay relax game i get it i'm ready to uncover the mysteries of the universe for you boss what do you want me to research interesting word research implies you're searching for something a second time you'd better not be charging me for the same work twice caleb asked some decor items give boosts though yes um i'll have to look give me one sec here uh decor so yes the air conditioning unit slows morale drain that's what that green star is the iris mainframe doesn't do anything the drinking fountain also slows morale drain uh we've got chairs your minions need somewhere to sit while you're shouting at them to get back to work i'm not sure if that helps them oh i guess so there's a little icon in the bottom left that shows the little uh training hat i don't know if that means it's only for the training room or if that means it actually helps them in the training room we've got blue lamps here cool all right so yeah i don't know um haven't quite figured out all of the advanced strategies yet but that will come in time all right so let's get ourselves some guards now because i anticipate more fire fights than anything else let's hit up the side stories amass muscle star side story a little more muscle around here you're there how much can you lift do you even lift bro about 70 kilos on a good day 80 if i use both hands and how many bullet wounds can you take before you give up one maybe two i feel your body my point exactly get out there and find someone strong learn their secrets hell yeah all right to the world map all right so it looks like okay this region doesn't have it so we'll grab some cash uh this region oh i see one in central anvil oh here we go there's one in um where is this southern saber so that's perfect kidnap a guard and then in the other areas we'll call for cash always keep that cash flowing guys if you are playing this yourselves always keep that cash flowing all right so we've got that so we've got the infirmary we've got the mess hall the archive could probably use some help um so what i like doing is putting the archive very close if not adjacent to the ser the library having a thinking thought here all right let's let's run the con i'm spreading everything really far away from itself from each other um and then we'll put oh the control schemes are a bit weird too um what you're seeing here you can see that based on the suffering from low smarts i'm working on it shut up karen so there's an option where the camera only moves when you move the mouse and hopefully between the cursor and the camera you can see that's the setting i have oh i have oxygen that's the setting i have um by default the game does not do that by default it does an acceleration so it does this crap and you can see how little i'm moving the mouse to make that much happen i don't like it um i tried every percentage setting to change that and i just don't like it um but of course that's again your mileage may vary that is no knock on the game uh because you can easily for example this is how i had it when i was practicing in the tutorial like i had it down to 25 pan 35 rotation and then again you can see that just slightly moving the mouse just keeps the turn going and i really really don't like that there's also acceleration so when you release it keeps going for a split second and it one entrance into our base we want to make sure that our guards are as close to it as possible they added a new device for you know what i might move i might move our gold room over there you can tell that your people don't actually need to get to your gold room anymore the vault is just a storage room so i'm going to convert all of this to the armory and here comes some investigators okay yeah this needs to happen quick so i can start making a few adjustments to the base all right so uh oh yeah and what i'm hitting there is if you just click and hold on an item you will just immediately grab it to move it a scheme has succeeded very helpful okay and i guess while i'm at it let's um your criminal networks need more broadcast strength to maintain add a couple more so yeah so while this is going on i'm out of money um because while these antennas are being moved they're essentially shut down so this is going to take everyone a hot minute to get organized just wondering though how much would you say has changed from evil genius to evil genius 2 just wondering if it's worth getting really um [Music] so far i'm having fun with it and it is my personal view that the ultimate strength the thing with games is you should have fun with them um which i know i guess kind of sounds like a cop-out but like games are supposed to be fun so as long as it's fun you know i think it's worth the money um so it depends on what your definition of fun is and that is varied you know everyone has their own definition of fun like some people don't like games that are easy for example it's not fun to them to have their hands held or whatever and that is valid um if you like the original evil genius i think this is fine it's fun it's good um it is actually good it is not just eh you know it is a good game um so far i haven't gotten very far ew oh this isn't gonna look good at all oh god me and my aesthetics hold on a minute this is uh uh why do i have to care so much about aesthetics can expand this out as necessary perfect okay good um if evil genius 2 is anything so far to me it's slow paced and that's saying something because the original evil genius one especially if you played vanilla was awfully slow paced and this one is a bit slower paced if you play out the entire tutorial like if you have tutorial active it holds your hand through this entire process that you've seen so far and it will take you up to three hours unless you're constantly playing it fast forward um is that good is that bad you know i don't know i'm i am a bit of an old school gamer that i think tutorials have gotten a little bit out of hand but on the other hand i also recognize that every game is someone's first and it's at least they give you the option to skip the tutorials so whatever um but as far as the base building goes you know i'm having fun this is straight up i'm having fun this is this is meeting all of my personal expectations but that's because again i didn't i never assumed that evil genius 2 would be like the second coming of friggin mario or something you know i or sim city that'd be a better analogy um it's good i like it it's all that matters i like the game all right so we're gonna paint over all of this with oh i see i have to paint over it first and then i can expand it okay that that does make sense that's not too wonky alright so there's our armory there fighting very much really you're just gonna coffee break and leave them go okay oh that is another thing it seems as when you tag an enemy your minion's radius for seeing that enemy is a little smaller than the old days yeah did you see how long it took for this yellow shirt to engage um it's it's taking a little bit of time so back to normal speed for this i want to kind of see this play can't put them out in the middle of anything so when you plan your barracks out you want to make sure that you put your beds you want to make sure you plan ahead so you put your beds against the wall and also both sides must be able to be reached unlike evil genius one so you need to plan ahead just a wee bit this is going to look fairly ugly but it doesn't matter because you don't have to worry about loudspeakers in this one all right that's a good start and then we need to start getting more and more cash because that is going to be an expensive little build so cash and cash and cash hi the akamura okay got it all right can i make a wall in the middle of the room and put beds on it yes absolutely it just has to be against a wall and it has to have both sides available um and in fact once we build the room you can still go in and just take out a single tile that's something you could not do in evil genius one um so we could do that itsy bitsy modification and still kind of stick a load of beds in there do we need to ruin in here to manage your funds for those who don't know ruin is my character from final fantasy 14 and she is obsessed with money so yes ruin needs to be here to manage my ruin would play maximilian since his entire existence is to get cash no matter what it takes so oh yeah this looks good this looks good i know we're gonna be short on funds for a little while but that's okay we will get there i have not even started a research project what the hell is wrong with me uh please research power so the power generator the nuclear power generator is in tier two and you must have three projects done in tier one first so personally i like doing the shut up steal them all okay thank you for sassing me uh you can do the improved mining techniques and then i like putting the stun club or the normal club that way we have a little bit more offense and also we can increase either the evil genius themselves or our first henchmen this is the larger storage bays to give you plus 10 tier minion cap it's fine um then there are the traps i don't think traps are all that necessary this early then you also have your global operations um yeah i don't know what intel does exactly yet but it's oh research speed huh that's helpful well can't do anything without money so it doesn't matter at the moment anyway i need a purple minion to start the casino yes that is correct you're a slav i need my valets um but i'm not concerned yet for them i want to kind of get my infrastructure here set up a little bit better before i grab my valets you're running out of needed to get past so after all that building my maximum mini minion count is now 102 and that is why i have said you don't need to research the minion counts it's just not necessary this early oh hey friends that's fine you can go i'll let you go i done goofed it uh there we go okay so here's our security table i can put it exactly where i want it and now one of the things they've added is this guard table and when you have nothing else going on the guards are gonna hang out here and then when there are alerts to your security cameras the guards who are here will just run off and take care of it so you no longer have to worry about arming everybody and you no longer have to worry about say your yellow shirts getting involved in into combat by default unless you have people tagged which is for better or worse i think it's fine again um i like the change and so i need to move some of this around there we go actually while i'm at it let's add another generator here there we go a scheme has succeeded give me more money more money so going for the quick monies that i keep going for that costs you more in workers um but it will cost you less in time and right now time is what i want to the big changes they made is that your cameras must be in corridors now and that is a huge change for a lot of reasons okay that helps cover my immediate front base each desk can only hold two cameras agent she's the leader of hammer and after the evil genius won in the first game they organized efforts to reverse the thing and now but the world is back to its status quo and that upset her so she wants to just extinguish the world because if she can't save it she's decided to just end it so there is no more evil in the world or whatever um good story good story i almost picked her but i have to i have to have loyalty to my boy there we go so now we've got the technician um so let's oh yeah the technician requires wall based uh training gadgets um i should only need two [Music] so an ability i forgot to do this whole time all of the evil geniuses have an ability called do it now and when you do that any jobs in the area are prioritized but as soon as you move your evil genius that turns off however it's permanent as long as it's on so there we go so now they will not only prioritize building the trainers but when we order technicians to be made they will prioritize training technicians okay perfect so the last thing we will need at that point is to get ourselves some a scheme has succeeded so what do i need to do three technicians have to be trained okay more gold send those people out you are guaranteed to succeed they just don't come back which is fine um it's just a change in the game rules i prefer it this way because i didn't like well let me just start this before i keep talking um in the old days with evil genius one i didn't really like the fact i had to babysit my people or throw in extra people than the minimum requirements to ensure survival it was a game rule i got used to it it wasn't that big of a deal once you were used to it but it was still a little annoying i do prefer this way especially because just generally speaking in games i don't particularly like having luck involved and with here it's like you do this number of people guaranteed to succeed it just takes time that makes me happy um your mileage may vary of course but that is just my preference and i really really like the changes for that all right martha says thank you for showing this pyro of course and i will be doing a full run of this game for sure uh it'll just take me a while to get some more episodes up um probably won't have any videos out tomorrow but we will probably have some thursday and friday and then we'll have them every weekday until i any preview trailers i haven't seen much information at all beyond knowing uh the different evil geniuses in the game and that's the way i prefer it i like going into games as blind as possible and secure now all right let's get networks established in the two hammer zones and once that's done we can start doing some of the missions there looks like you can edit your their priorities to make your minions more efficient really oh i see that priority mess hall staff room select an area to prioritize or toggle off for no priority huh well that's cool neat and that is that individualized yeah that's individualized oh cool oh that explains why the traits can go through because well maybe more likely to be fooled by agent disguises keeps a diary dear diary today i move to an island lair we yeah it seems so because one of the priorities like paul bucket here has a has the schemes priority so if i turn that off toggle off for no priority oh i see i guess kind of because if i if i were to take paul and flag him for repairs i would assume that would mean he'd be the last in line to go on a scheme because he'd be too busy running around repairing things huh i'm sure there's probably some good advanced strategy for that but i can't think of it right now it's fine yeah no staff room we've got a we've got to get a staff room going real quick once we've got our technology here and get our improved mining techniques we can start um hollowing out this section and do that all right so with the criminal enterprises selected let's get the deep cover one of your generals has been taken to hammer custody for interrogation you must have your own moles within hammer blow their cover to rescue them before they give up any of your secrets and then on this one and all the chaos you've left one very important thing behind your old bear what you're not katarina wherever you wander wherever you roam you couldn't be fonder of your big home so long as you bring him with you oh that's so cute need to use to research is malfunctioning because my techies aren't repairing anything so i'm not sure what's going on here like i don't know how much of this is either a bug or just the fact that everyone's smarts are sapped just they have to get in line for food i mean it could be a bunch of things the fact i have this many minions who are hanging out trying to start it i'm sure it's fine um minions in eg won't ever trap themselves with bad build orders for you pyro oh god yes all the time um i always had to make sure that there was plenty of room around because they would trap themselves and if i gave delete orders for a bunch of rooms they would just delete whatever room they were closest to which sometimes they meant they would cut off rooms from the rest of the base that happened at least two times that i can think of in the world domination modern i did of evil genius one um i just wound up cutting that footage but yeah they were they were pretty stupid um and it seems that they have very much improved for evil genius too all right let's grab some [Music] scheme has cash i i feel this could be automated a little bit um where you could be like just everyone get money you know just just like a one click everybody gets money who can possibly get money that would spike your heat but in situations like this it would just be handy instead of having to click each one but it's not a big deal it would just be a little bit of a time saver um i don't even know where else i yeah the three hammer regions i just i have no money available yet which is fine we need intel um there was an item for that let's see i guess i don't have it yet there was a tech for it can i queue doesn't look like i can queue stairs unlock stairs allows minions to move between floors oh geez i if there was just a filter so you could get all the other icons out of there provides a medium amount of power to the layer also makes for wonderful night light if you leave the hatch open i mean minions to distract any agents they find in specific parts of the layer ooh that's helpful too i mean a lot of these are really helpful um traps laser wall bubble cannon slippery floor pinball bumper let's get this person interrogated and that so it's any enemy agent so we just have to capture a couple people and then we're set you need more games like this where you play as the bad guy i completely agree it was really down to pretty much dungeons and dungeon keeper and overlord which is fine and all but as much as i like fantasy when you stick with just one topic it it can get a little old and i don't know i liked um i like having the more modern type of setting it's interesting interrogation success your hordes and traps are no match for a stiff upper lip says i know i know of all the things i could geek out about for this game why the graphics well they did good yeah they did the graphics are great um some of the changes like a lot of the changes are just quality of life for better or worse um some of the changes i can understand why people would be upset about because they did change some of the rules but i think it's i don't think it's bad i think it's just getting used to a new rule set in the game i mean that's no different from any other time you play a game or play a new version of a game and things change all right so yeah i guess we just have to performance i mean i generally don't talk about my specs because i mean i'll be honest i don't really know that much about hardware i used to but a lot of my knowledge about hardware is just gone um because i didn't keep up with it over the years but uh someone smarter than me i suppose one of these days like i could post my specs and y'all can do a rate my setup or whatever um but i'm trying to think like i've got a i've got a nvidia 1660 graphics card and i have an i7 but i can't remember what generation um if you all remind me let me know in my discord and i can post my stats there and i can try to talk about it um but my point is my computer is well above the minimum specs i'm running it on high graphics it defaulted to medium but i went to high graphics and i haven't had a single problem with performance um i mean it's running bother butter smooth right now and we're outputting it i think 1080p is 60 frames a second for the stream so no problems it's been nice and smooth for me i'm running with directx 12 instead of vulcan it gives you the choice on boot um i'm running in a borderless window at 1600 by 900 so it's getting upscaled for the stream um is that dude in my base no that's a techie okay i thought that was an investigator so um yeah i've i've not had a single problem everything's been lovely and smooth i've had a couple hangs i guess i should say lags when a lot of shit's happening but i'm also streaming and that adds a lot to my bandwidth so uh yeah it's been performance has been great haven't had a single problem um but of course your mileage may vary i was looking in the rebellion discord prior to starting the stream and i did see a lot of reports of people having bugs or performance issues and some people refunded the game and that's fine i mean i'm not gonna judge um all i can do is say that for my part everything's been silky smooth without a problem not sure if that helps you very much or not but uh hopefully that says that the game isn't like just a pile of garbage whatever because there have been some i mean i've played excuse me i've um i've played quite a few games that just haven't functioned well i've canceled some series or some streams that upon my testing it just doesn't work and i haven't had that problem with evil genius too at all so all right uh let's see so you all right the akamura oh so i forgot to mention the symmetry wrecking bowl and john effing steel and then we've got like three more i don't even know where they are so this is great um lots of game to go you had to scour the world chasing every rumor and story you even had to ask your minions for ideas but you finally have what you need havoc well a piece of it a good start regardless we have located havoc or part of it they were so scared of its power they disassembled it part of it i cannot take over the whole world with only part of havoc i forget who does his voice it's a prolific actor and i'm trying to remember his name brian blest i definitely an easier game my gosh all right you have a baby the akamura i am i'm sure i'm i'm glad she's getting comfortable with you picking her up like that who's a little girl you're a little girl yes you is with your goofy whiskers oh she's i can tell she likes the pets but she doesn't like being held so she's sort of confused she's conflicted all right uh back to our issue with the stairs so i'm going to have to try to figure this out because i haven't done it yet um let's see what happens if i go downstairs like this do i actually have to build like hmm whoops wait did i actually research stairs i'm pretty sure i did maybe i never did do so stairs no i didn't ever do it okay so yeah that's our priority once we've got um once we've got 20 grand i'll start researching stairs every video review i've seen is not recommending getting this game yeah i know right it's amazing isn't it um i honestly believe that a lot of people are recommending not getting this game because they wanted it to be a certain specific way and it's not evil genius one and but prettier it's a different game with different rule sets um i said it previously in the stream just for everyone who's who's new or who has arrived this is personal taste you're watching me play it i have not seen anything about it beyond that i wanted it so i didn't have any preconceived notions i am a former reviewer and a former or current guide writer for a major video game publication magazine website uh they have nothing to do with my current activities on youtube but like so i but i'm approaching this trying to be objective and saying like it's not evil genius one it never was going to be evil genius one and if you think it would be evil genius one but a thousand times better that's setting it up for failure because it'll never be that good it's like a lot of cult classic sequels where it's never going to be as good as what the perfect game would be in your mind kind of thing um which is nothing you know there's nothing wrong with that but if you temper your expectations and you know the core question becomes is the game fun do you have fun with it because if you hate evil genius too you can always go back and play evil genius one like evil genius one is still out there um and you know there is some stuff with evil genius too that may be bad like i i thought i read that de nuvo was on it which is not the best um i hate de nuvo but you know if you can stomach denuvo and it doesn't cause your computer to explode and you have fun with the game who gives a so i find the game extremely fun it will never replace evil genius one but it doesn't need to it's a good game it's all the matters it's fun good game i'm i'm enjoying it and i am very and i paid full price by the way i i didn't get a free copy i'm not getting it reimbursed uh no one's paying me for a review no one i mean other than any patreon money or donations or whatever come my way i don't get paid for reviews i i have no clout even if i did have the cloud i wouldn't do it because that shit's dishonest it's not sponsored i have no sponsors whatsoever i have no horse in the race i just want to have a fun game and an enjoyable game and this is a fun and enjoyable game and i will i will die on that hill because if you disagree that's cool and different differing of opinions is fine but i like this game i don't care what anyone else says it doesn't mean i think it's perfect it's not perfect it's a bit slow um it's slower paced than the original which is saying something because the original was pretty slow paced um there's a few quabbles i have with the interface but they're quabbles whatever i guess this is more like a franchise restart and a way to get new players an evil genius maybe they want to kick start everything again with i mean maybe um i mean that is one thing i i can see people being upset over things like the tutorial is too long it's too hand-holdy it's too easy like those are valid criticisms but are still colored by personal bias which is not bad bias is not bad it's your personal preference i should say um and like i think objectively the tutorial is too long but who cares it can be skipped you know i mean like that that's the thing that that's whenever there's a choice in a game and it doesn't really mean something negative toward the game itself i don't find it a negative um i was gonna explain that further but i forgot what i was doing stairs that's what i'm doing research has begun what hold on it said something was oh no it's going okay um my the the example i always go back to um the example i always always go back to is in mario games how nowadays if you die a lot on one stage the game says something to the effect of here's a power up to help you get through it and a lot of gamers have complained about that and say it's too hand-holdy makes the game too easy it destroys the challenge and so on where is is i don't find that true because you don't need to take it like if you can just skip the health then the help doesn't harm your experience in any way and there are countless games that do it nowadays like metal gear solid five if you died too many times the game offered you to wear the chicken hat which would help get you through uh enemy encounters you don't have to take the chicken hat you don't have to so it doesn't hurt your experience to not do it um so games like evil genius 2 where the tutorials get a little mmm hand-holdy who cares just don't do it and then everything's fine so but i'm a very easy going easy to please gamer so enough to complete this take that for what you will because i know some people don't like easy to please gamers uh and and gamers who just shrug it off maybe i don't know anyway um how many levels can i build on four on this island i think one of the islands gives you five but uh yeah this is here i'll zoom out in fact so this is floor one um you can see even now we've only covered about three quarters of it and then here's level two haven't touched any of it not a lot of space to work with here though and then on the top level even less space but then we have the basement which is fairly sizable um i assume it'll take some research to get through this rock but we'll get there um yeah we've got a lot of space to work with especially since i basically have everything i need right now assuming i don't have to do anything too crazy um and my plan is to turn this entire basement into a massive control room and you know i mean maybe that won't work but that's part of the fun just experimenting and figuring out what works and what doesn't you know so that is the objective once we get the research done here on the stairs and in the meantime we're just sitting pretty i mean i may as well go for cash there's nothing else for me to do oh look for a clue on the world stage let's slow down to normal time oh geez heat gain to region 100 just as you're gearing up to take on old man dubai he's gearing up to slap you down he's on a recruitment drive for more people okay so like the heat is already at 47. um i'm gonna go ahead and let this go because even if he gain even if he adds 100 heat to this region who cares it's already close to maxed out anyway so we can just skip that entirely um [Music] so let's see i guess i just need to run some money missions on anything that's relatively low heat there's wrecking bola again yeah right now i'm just going to grab all the money i can in low heat regions i mean there's nothing else to do at this second um and then here again this one is close to capping out its heat 97 out of 100 so i'm just going to ignore it entirely and i need to go over here into smash yeah we need the stairs so i can go downwards so i can get a massive control room so i can start getting all of the regions hooked up and then i'll be good to go i think it's a bit weird selling a season pass day one with no season pass content instead of yeah i agree with you on that i'm not gonna like i i hate season passes um i think that's partly colored by the fact i'm an old school gamer i mean i grew up with the super nintendo we didn't have back in my day we didn't have any such season passes so that was a shitty old man voice so um yeah i hate season passes i hate dlc i hate other um but it's part of the game development community now and uh crowbeak is in uh crowbeak is one of my mods she has a different view of dlc um because she looks at it from an indie perspective which i understand i look at it from a corporation perspective because i i'm like fair enough if an indie developer wants to do a season pass or needs to do a little extra monetization or whatever um companies like koei tecmo don't need to do it kowi tecmo is worth 6 billion dollars they don't need to do season pass anything activision blizzard just paid bobby coddick what was a 40 million dollars for a bonus after he laid off a hundred people so no i don't buy it at all you want to keep people employed stop paying ceo's 40 million dollar bonuses after they lay people off that is the and that would end dlc but that's not the way it works so that's why i'm i'm i i get it for indies i don't get it for aaa companies i just don't i i refuse to accept that um no i don't accept it with corporate i absolutely don't accept it with corporate because if you're going to tell me that we need dlcs in order to pay ceos 40 million dollar bonuses i reject that wholeheartedly that's capitalism but whatever i i just reject it i completely reject it think of a slight money loss oh the horror exactly i i completely reject it um i've been swayed by a youtuber named jim sterling and they have been very they've shown their argument very uh in a very detailed way yeah i'm i'm actually curious crowbeak i would love if i can get you for about 30 minutes i want to hear your reaction to a jim sterling video where he counteracts the arguments you have given me um to hear your response to them i would like to hear an actual debate about it but i just i don't buy it for corporations period i just don't i'm i'm not gonna be and that's not even video games as much as it is money i i don't like the idea of bobby cottick making 300 times the amount of a normal worker like i i have not heard a good argument for a ceo to make 300 times his his work when i did um research into walmart when i still work there our ceo at walmart made 1 200 times the amount of a standard worker i don't buy it i cannot hear a good reason why that's okay so you know done but i would not mind hearing a debate on the subject anyway enough of that um as far as what's in the dlc for this for the season pass um i know there's one campaign whatever that means it may mean a a new island um i think there's a couple henchmen coming it's pretty light i would i'm actually not really sure if the dlc of evil genius 2 was worth it um yeah but i'm reserving judgment i bought it i mean for better or worse because the thing with i this is a little indefensible i suppose but evil genius is fairly cheap um the base game of evil genius is like 30 bucks and that i mean full price it's 30 bucks and then um the dlc like if you buy the season pass with evil genius it's like 50. and i'm like that's okay i mean if the standard price of video games right now is 60 or 65 60 then evil genius is still less expensive even with the season pass so sure um sure uh you know i i don't know you have to judge for yourself whether it's worth it um i'm poor so that helps color my own views of things too because i can't generally afford eighty ninety hundred dollar games and she's been paused i just you know so the fact that evil genius two with everything right now is only 50 bucks is pretty pretty good uh much respect to the late awada formerly ahead of nintendo for taking a pay cut to keep from firing exactly you want to keep people employed do that exactly right iwata knew what was up and even he made his mistakes but like it i would think i would hope that firing people laying people off is the last resort and milking customers is maybe the second to last resort but instead you've got ceos who make millions of dollars in bonuses and that's not an exaggeration they make millions of dollars in bonuses they don't need it they don't need it you can't i like i don't know yeah i'm i'd just be repeating myself um anyway moving on i've made my statement i i've made my statement we're moving on i don't know anything about rebellion by the way i don't know about the way rebellion something um i mean that would have sold too just i'm i'm happy with the new game this i'm enjoying myself i'm having a ton of fun um i i will admit that this game evil genius 2 specifically is slow paced enough that if i wasn't doing the stream i would probably be watching a movie or something um while waiting for money to gather but i did that with evil genius one also so i mean it's just the nature of any game like this any kind of base builder combined with the fact that i personally play games like this very slowly um you know but yeah i'm i'm enjoying it um nice thing about being eg2 is they probably rebuilt the engine oh i'm sure they did because evil genius won i mean well first of all yeah i mean given how long this took to develop it wouldn't surprise me if they i'm sure they rebuilt the engine from scratch it feels too different if they didn't if they somehow managed to do this game on the evil genius one engine i would be freaking shocked like legit there just appear to be so many more minions um yes the vanilla evil genius one hard limit was a hundred here i'm at 204 and you know that's barely that's not even my cap my cap is 237 right now so yeah we got we got tons of things happening right now um our gold supplies look good okay so i need to look for a clue on the world stage and i need my stairs to finish being hey sir around with a donation thank you very much i want evil genius mixed with x-com that'd be sick i would love playing that a gun that shoots birds that seems rather foul ha ha ha i'm sure we could make some cash if we sold it 160 000 reward i'm going to decline that because i don't have the room for that much money good to know the missions can be that uh that well paying though i still need to find some sort of clue against dubai that's caution sign below the stairs so that means i can put the stairs here but they can only go up so i can put the stairs anywhere basically as long as i can link the two floors but if i can link more than two floors like here that's even better so we'll drop this here connect to the basement we will dirt up this room your minions are in combat uh we will delete this and once once i get that done i'll worry about figuring out what i'm gonna do there so while i'm at it we'll add a door here that way it discourages people from getting in there and i don't think anyone's gonna get that deep in the base anyway um but to hedge my bet let's add my favorite laser walls not enough gold to complete this construction and some poison darts for okay so i dare anybody who is not authorized to try getting to my stairs because they are not going to be happy and then we can even hedge your bet further with some fisty punchers right there oh yeah that is also a hallway of death okay confirm all right so once we get all of that built i'll worry about the basement um for now okay so this is interesting they have different doors now so stronger than a muscle minion but just as easily fooled effective against saboteurs but rogues can bypass it with ease so the reinforced door is good for the power room because my rogues don't even give a about what's going on in the power room um but my saboteurs can get in there and i need that better protected so we are going to make reinforced dorms and then i'm gonna do something else real quick we are going to dirt up this chunklet um and then i'm going to add a door that's gonna be awkward um no it's fine i'm going to add the power room door here we'll block it off with the door i can't block it off with the door okay so we'll sell that one and then block it off with the door and then this will be removed and we'll dirt up this you're running out of gold let's add another incinerator this will still be okay and then i guess i could actually shove everything over oh my god this is gonna cost me so much time and money so the reason i'm doing this is we can replace this door here with these um with the hard door once it gets completed because what i'm thinking is the saboteurs in order to blow up my power plant would have to walk through this corridor of death and then go all the way over here which i can also turn into a corridor of death and then by that point i will know they're in the base and then i can kill them much easier and keep control of things because so far it doesn't seem anyone but the rogues teleport so i think if i do it this way i can keep the power room better secured and i should have an easier time stopping the wrecking bola that's her name i should be able to stop wrecking bola easier than what i have been doing yes that that should work okay that's gonna take a minute for everyone to do all those orders yeah and we're gonna lose power for a while but that's that's not a big deal first game yes it's definitely more cartoony and stylized is that good or bad that's completely personal taste for better or worse um i don't mind it but you know whatever uh i like ivan being as goofy as he is it totally works um but yes it does it has lost a little bit of the pseudo-realism it's dipped more into the goofy cartoony sci-fi admit i'm a little disappointed i expected a bigger fight from someone of your caliber then you disappointed me you should have been expecting a smart fight what do you mean have you did you really think emptying your base of forces wouldn't be exploited by my best student your best student student in the lair uh okay curious who that is i don't see anyone in the base at the moment this is where i would go yellow alert if there was such oh oh oh personal student artem jacobs quality average licensed to maim jubei's personal student giubei's favored pupil they are bound to put up a fight that's fine we haven't had any problems defeating way they can stick around in the base for a while mr ziario says seven hours yes i do long streams for for me for our channel if you come around and watch me stream a lot my default is six hour streams not on streaming sundays but like when i do streams that i that really mean something to me um six hours is my average that's when i usually start to feel a little tired the longest i ever streamed was 22 and that is that was dangerous and the only reason i did it was i was trying to flip my hours around and i like i needed to go from third shift to first shift and it was the only way i could keep myself up so uh but i've done a few 14-hour streams there's a 14-hour stream on youtube when i was playing yakuza 6. so i do long streams man part of the reason this is my dream job is i'm made for this job i am wired for this job i still have energy i feel great i could probably go longer than another hour i just want to stop at some point so i can sleep tonight so yeah man i'm uh i'm made for this job what can i say all right so it seems things have been stabilized because we're up to 171 minions now and i only saw one who's low on morale so i think those morel boosters in a oh my god the morale boosters in the um the the new rooms in addition to me just kind of calming down for a second has helped our entire situation wow yep those investigators didn't even make it to the turn fantastic oh yeah we've got everything basically stabilized now um okay so now that we have more radio repeaters we've got eight radio repeaters that means i can start expanding where i'm going [Music] so we need to unlock new minion types which means i need to do another side story um let's also set up resurge the radio repeater provides even more strength more broadcast strength that can do this because there's a little screen that helps the minions aim the radio waves effectively but i can't do that i've got locked requirements so what else do i have improves worker smarts to oh i've got that one stores a decent amount of gold i i don't i mean that probably that probably increases the amount of money that's available to me but i don't feel like i need that yet laser doors are effective against rogue see my rogues rogues and standard investigators are really struggling to get into my base so i don't really need any of that um and then everything in tier three is locked okay minions oh layer minion cap up by ten sure why not just begun that's what i need more minions uh and then for side stories i have so many side quests um we've got crime lords wait wind wars the wind strikes back oh man i'm real tempted but i do want to advance this an unbreakable bond the name john steele used to strike fear in the underworld now years after the super agent's final disappearance upgrade because the 30 000 missions didn't show up until i started upgrading my networks there so let's upgrade in here oh i can't because i'm running a scheme uh am i running a scheme here no okay let's upgrade our criminal network in the middle east or western anvil whatever um and then go from there so minion type i need like all of the mercenaries and then we can lower our guard intake that leaves us with still like 90 some odd workers okay that's fine ah the minion counts are getting absurd all right and we lost that mercenary but at least we unlocked the trainer so another big difference again between the first and second game is that minions can still upgrade themselves to the next level um something is wrong with either the minions or the training room bus they can still upgrade even without the trainer it just takes longer and that's good yep training stalled only until we get all the power operational it's fine it's fine karen [Music] okay yep good deal everything's have so many computer things all i have to do is just not build for a while and i'll build up my intel nice and high although there's not a lot of intel happening right here no one's over there all right uh me come over here and order them to start building up their uh to build up our intel for a while more soldier uh more investigators gonna be more corpses in a intruder second the last cube she's got it again so no one seems to respond to it so you know whatever all right find the treasure on the world stage find the treasure do we not oh are we not oh so first we did the map and now we're actually finding the treasure benjamin franklin hid his treasure in his home in philadelphia and the map on the back of the declaration will show where have your minions claim it before you before those pests at the national treasury can so we need a little bit more intel we're at 14. there we go launch it and now we're good to go um meanwhile i'm gonna look for some cash missions to run here i need some intel i'm gonna have to go with the cheapies for a little while because i don't have enough intel to do any of the expensive ones all right thank you scientists keep it going use the repeat repeat what is the purpose of intel now it's just another resource like money it's it's just another resource and it it gets built up um through these computer consoles oh my uh my morale ended so i can't er [Music] my do it now canceled but yeah these computer consoles when they're worked um they just you just gain intel regularly i like having a small group like this and then sticking ivan right in the middle and activating the do it now because that summons a bunch of people over there to work on it and it builds up pretty quick how do i get rid of the planet evidence durability can be repaired by technicians can i can't sell it oh destroy there we go yeah there's another one over here there we go he put it so deep in the base that it doesn't matter but he's trying to figure out how to get rid of it all right so the lockdown is over i'm still a little short on intel but we'll take care of that um perfect timing because ivan is done getting his numbers back activate your thing yep then this person's building up intel and more people are arriving to work on it we're at 11 intel i wish i could see how fast we were gaining it for a while i had it very high up but i don't know how many people were working on it thirteen yeah we gotta wait for twenty um can i kill my heat once i get there ah yes okay this only costs valets all right so if i send the valets out i wonder if that means they keep the heat under control it's a half hour mission but i don't think that means it will take exactly a half hour to work because even when i did this mission that takes 10 seconds you could see my heat dying down as it progressed the hell is going on over here oh sorry valet and will she get to the turn she did get to the turn cool so basically tagging one person effectively tags the group even though they aren't actually tagged they will fight back and your people will take them out so that works okay so we're at 20 intel i don't need to do this go ahead and cancel it and launch this one that did seem to do some work because the heat dropped back down to two so something to think about what oh did a valet try to leave well this is what you get you dick training resumed all right come on get the declaration of independence that'll be a great place to stop the stream since we are now at 11 o'clock training has stalled and that valet is just gonna hang out in the the helicopter bringing more people that would explain why it keeps showing up i hope it's not a bug no okay here's here's a worker who's leaving so it might be that guy yep there we go it wasn't a new loot item is secure in your lair so now i can call the reward finished complete and i completed the main objective also the world is at ease for now take advantage of this momentary calm and expand your criminal organization steal loot recruit henchmen hire more mindless flunkies above all take some time for yourself you've earned it what is so important i am about to finally steal havoc and begin my war to avenge great ivanya it's the forces of justice they're uniting as public entities against crime and evil peace oh no we don't want him united i hate peace i know you do but you would ideally fire the rocket launcher from far away so does that mean you'd blow them up and then just roll around in the blood puddles god damn ivan no wonder they call you rad what orders do you so we've got ourselves let's uh drop it somewhere yes we've got the declaration of independence let's put it up with the mercenaries because that makes sense um there we go and that will be my final order for the night so when we get to the next episode again it may be friday it may be monday give me some time i need to recover my voice and everything after going eight hours um and this is for
