well hello everybody out there in TV land this is Eddie the tattooed realtor coming to you live from inside of my office in Margate Florida I'm shooting this video a little differently I actually have the camera pointing down at me because we're gonna do a deep dive into various direct mail marketing pieces that I receive on a weekly basis and I'm sure if you pay attention to your mailbox you'd notice them also so I've been collecting these for the last month and let's go through them so let's take a moment so before we get started be sure to LIKE subscribe and comment always really love those descriptions I'm always here to help any way I can on a weekly basis I get emails and phone calls from various Realtors and people looking to buy and sell and lease and I'm always here to be a plethora of information I've been a realtor full-time for over eight years in lovely South Florida so if you're looking to buy sell or lease in Broward or Palm Beach County I'd love to hear from you my information is all in the description so let's jump straight into it about marketing pieces alright so what I'm gonna do is we have marketing pieces here different types of marking piece I'm gonna use my handy dandy pencil right here my pencil to help guide us through this conversation about marketing pieces of specifically direct mail and I have a whole bunch of different marketing pieces that I've received different types and destructible --zz paper you know all types of cool stuff right here like tons of different ones now as a pretense or a precursor I have not chosen these specifically I'm gonna try to go through all them to point out the positives and negatives things that we can pay attention to as real estate professionals as we create marketing pieces so if you see specific companies mentioning these pieces I'm not promoting them in particular they just simply arrived in my mailbox okay so jumping straight into it this is a fairly large marketing piece you can see by my hand it's a fairly large marketing piece I believe it's the size of a piece of paper let's see might be in a half by 11 piece of paper here it is yep it's an eight and a half by eleven now you're allowed or able to send pieces much bigger than this through direct Every Door Direct Mail marketing through the USPS Postal System and you can find more information about that on the EDDM website I'll be sure and do my best to add that information to the description so Ain half by 11 now the one thing straight out of the gate when you're sending larger marketing pieces like this to a targeted market we've talked about farming before in other videos we've talked about using remind we've talked about how to cultivate lists if you're sending this sort of piece you have to be conscious of the type of mailbox that you're gonna get to we have a single-family home average sized mailbox so what's gonna happen is the postal worker is gonna actually kind of not bend it but kind of curve it a little bit so it fits in that mailbox okay but if you're in a condo they're gonna have to fold it in order to get it which could ruin the impact of the piece so remember be conscious the type of pieces you're sending to what type of mailbox so that you don't waste your money and someone checks it all so before we get started deep diving into these pieces something to think about also is the need to be conscious of when you're actually mailing the piece meaning what day are you actually gonna have this piece hit their mailbox okay so let's jump straight into it on one side here we have all the different locations I'm assuming it's some sort of an office so let's jump it straight into it okay perfect it's actually coming from the Broward County property appraisers the property appraisers and we see here we have the call to action here an important notice for Broward residents pretty strong the color selections okay I don't really like green especially this shade of green because that a more vibrant green like a John John Deere green were more exhibits trust and worthiness I'm not really so sure about this one I do like the white and important notice for Broward County residents learn about tax saving exemptions you may qualify for if you have any questions please call nine five four buh-ba-ba-bah strong call to action I don't know if I like the color selection back here I might have put a white background with black letters or a black background with white letters something to call attention they have a little quote picture of the current I guess head of property appraiser's social media here as well Marty social media here strong calls you know strong triggers they might want to put like visit or follow or you know check us out on and then tell them just because we know what these symbols stand for Facebook Instagram Twitter YouTube does not mean that your receiver knows us you got to tell them what to do now we see here date once again that could have been a little bit bigger events in your city now they're telling us about Coconut Creek Cooper City Coral Springs Dania Beach Davi now once again this piece is more of a generic piece so we have on the back more generic locations I live in Margate so these ones will be applicable to me but if you live in on the other locations once again it's a fairly large piece I don't recommend sending this out unless you number one have the money and the appropriate mailboxes that you're gonna hit single-family homes in a million-dollar community on the water their mailboxes are fairly large so something to consider and we can see here in this corner please questions please contact our office at and they give the phone number again or the website here I would have made this a little bit bigger I would probably made this a different color as well because you want them to stand out so piece number one large pieces it can be useful but let's keep moving forward this piece right here so we have it looks like yep an EDM piece you see how it says eddm right here Every Door Direct Mail marketing piece current resident residential customer Pompano Beach three three zero six three my zip code it comes in as Margate or Pompano Beach depending where dot so check this out so straight out of the gate when I have this come in my mailbox first of all I gotta ask myself well what is this for this is for a Margate Christian Academy probably a private school for kids I'm assuming school this is a little hash mark that they require you to put on you can get all this information through Edie DMS website free registration call now spaces lemon and they give the phone number I like that I like this big and bold I like the color that's actually a pretty appealing color to the eye once again green I don't really like that shade of green but I'm gonna be a stickler here call now I like that the now is here maybe an explanation point and then the phone number you also want to give people different options maybe someone doesn't want to call maybe they want to email maybe they want a visit in person maybe they want to visit the website you have the space you might as well use it call text email visit and give them the information here if you're creating a marketing piece for your real estate company about wanting to list their home or help them buy you know put email call text or stop by my office give them multiple options for call to action now this piece is EDM EDM allows you to select him specific route my wife and I don't have children there are quite a few families in the market area that do have children especially in my neighborhood so it was worth their time but for you be once again very specific on the piece now this isn't an eight and a half by eleven you can see the size difference this piece is a lot by eddm they're gonna measure it out when you go to the post office see if it applies so flipping over a little bit now this is where it gets kind of crazy I not a fan of using multiple colors because if you use multiple colors what can happen is you can get rather confusing and daunting overwhelming to the eye right it causes people to panic along with yellow pink green I like this shade of green a little bit better I like the emblem right here the kids playing but let's read it affordable caring preschool okay point given ELC approved not really sure I'm assuming early learning something approved ages three months to five years old once you have very specific free VPK now enrolling now what I would do is I would lead with whatever your unique selling proposition is or you as USP unique selling proposition yes I would leave with that so I would probably put up here free VPK why because in the mere fact that it's gonna encourage your users or your your market to engage it a lot more once again call today giving different call to action as a Realtor you're gonna want to use different pieces also for yourself 125 weekly I don't necessarily like giving the price straight up I also don't use the word pricing not that they did but that's kind of a tidbit I use total investment if you're going to be a realtor or a homeowner trying to sell on their own and you're sending out Every Door Direct Mail marketing you want to be conscious of your call to action your CTA your new unique selling proposition your USP and any sort of incentives you're giving I don't like to put numbers on marketing pieces because that number could sway one way or the other I want people to engage call text email stop by so on and so forth so another piece now this is an interesting little piece that I got from fireworks so fireworks I guess it's from let's see what it's from what does it called Donnie's Aaron's arsenal of fireworks I like that buy one get one free perfect call to action nice and strong I won't have necessarily selected to use the red because once again it's really hard to read even up close every item every day all year round I don't really know what that means that's really overwhelming with different facts like all air condition for your comfort there just isn't any place like Donnie Aaron's Arsenal fireworks the largest election black cap brand and other premium fireworks anywhere in South Florida including 25 new staff tested items each year coupon coupon coupon and then you can punch this coupon on they have the different calls that unique selling propositions now this is plastic this is exceptionally expensive to create I've looked into them myself these are considered indestructibles I think it's kind of a waste in a lot of places because of the mere fact that is so expensive the map is kind of small address should be more bold call to actions or phone numbers kind of weak address again here once again I would have spend my money on creating a piece like this with a punch out the likeliness is someone bringing this is highly unlikely I might have done like a redemption code they could do online and as a real estate professional I I would probably go with a larger piece name not this piece because remember you got to be mindful of the mailboxes but for them if they knew their market well enough they could even go with something like this let me pull it out again like this and probably pay a fraction of the cost and you notice here I don't you guys can tell this is glossy and this is matte that's kind of dangerous to do to you I would probably go glossy all the way especially if I was sending out a marketing piece to potential listings or buyers to help my customers out so a different type of piece once again it's kind of okay now let's mix it up a little bit let's see about any real estate stuff okay I like this one this is kind of unique this is a door hanger have you concede door hanger I found a couple companies that you can do door hangers a thousand door hangers for like I think under $100 both color both sides I've been getting into door hangers I've got a campaign up and running for expired listings in around my farm area and I like this piece the block is nice and solid I like the crown I like the name of the come you know the way that name is outline is now working in your neighborhood okay I get that weekly by Lea long mayn't maintenance I don't like half word like that go all the way through I know why they did it they should just moved along Maine's to the bottom next line fertilization weed control mulch and sod installation shrub and tree trimming eight hundred five seven six three one one zero experience the VIP treatment ask about our first time customer special ok straight out of the gate call to action or unique selling proposition that should been first asked about our first time customer special nice big and bold if you're sending out door hangers ask about your free home evaluation if you're sending out an open house be sure to join us on our open house on Sunday June was the sixteenth two thousand nineteen at blahblah nice big and bold okay they have the website but they don't tell us to visit it Instagram Angie's List home via their Facebook but once again they don't tell us what to do with it flipping over to the back same thing all over again so it's the same information on both sides I probably would have taken advantages a little different if you're doing door hangers or the real estate professional maybe one side is sellers one sides buyers maybe one side is leasing maybe one side is what's it called move down move up buyers meaning move from a smaller school bigger house or maybe this side is moving down moving from a big house to a small house you know stone and so forth kind of mix it up alright we got a couple more here and let's find let's see what I'm in real estate what I haven't got any real snow ones recently but let's see if I have one oh okay I like oh I got one more after this only got one more that I really interesting and I haven't seen a piece like this in a long time okay this is a I've actually saw the guy putting this in the mailbox at the post office because he used yeah see the hash mark he used every door direct I can tell from this code it's actually right there EDD M retail okay straight out the gate way too much text overwhelming color selection all over the board even their logo has crazy amounts of colors I get it it's kids but the kids are not the one seen as the parents are so you got a pitch to your audience right this is a wider piece able to be it's sent through yet another mail merge kind of the best of both worlds it is pretty wide I'm assuming it's eight and a half but it's probably 11 inches more than 11 inches and it's um it's it's it's okay I mean the colors are all over the place grand opening new preschool Saturday June 8th one 10 a.m. at 1:00 p.m. please RSVP by Monday okay but what am I supposed to go if they're like am I supposed to go to the grand opening you want me to come there once you say like join us stop by for our grand opening new preschool Saturday June 8th 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. I don't like this RSVP nonsense when you when you throw that in that's just another friction point that causes people not to do anything Coconut Creek Margate campus Pepper Tree Plaza sample Road Margate Florida learning city ok once again you're not telling me what to do with this ad does email address I don't see ok any phone numbers here but all over the place this cut once again the colors are a little place when you create marketing pieces you have to create them with a consistent color scheme I recommend you creating a branding style guide for your real estate business as I've done stick with specific colors specific branding specific logos specific call to actions making it very easy for your customer to be able to pick up on things now flipped it back once again photos I mean it looks like a cube facility I just wish these photos were freaking bigger they should have done photo photo photo photo get rid of this text you know they offer ok certified an experienced staff convenience schedules creative learning all the different things they they have once again my wife and I don't have kids so I mean it's kind of hard for me to understand I mean I understand what's going on but and it's not really important to me I'm called a call for details now screw that call for our new customer specials call text email now stop by give them more than one call to action and also we don't see any social media on here then today's marketing age you have to have social media okay alright so we have one more and this is a really unique piece that came in the mail I was utterly shocked when I receive it I hadn't seen one of these pieces in a long time alright so you guys all know my name Eduardo you could win okay so first of all this is personalized I like that personalized is always best way it's exceptionally expensive the print personalized pieces but I understand because their customer value or the worth of each customer is like crazy high with RV's that's why they can do it okay you have this little contest thing going on all the postmarks so on and so forth but look at this this piece is huge you notice remember when I told you look you in my mailbox they had to fold it kind of ruins the integrity of it I mean they have my name placement a couple places I liked but once again it's like they have this little contest I get this the reason why I'm getting this because I do own a travel trailer and they're like alright you know what maybe he wants a new one alright they give me some incentives so on and so forth you know I am kind of looking at a motor coach down the road but anyways that's yes I tracked it ok color selection Orange I'm not really big a fan of orange just because of the way it is but I guarantee you let's see it their logo let's try to find their logo okay everybody let's see what happens I don't even ok Florida outdoors RV center but their logo is right here itty bitty tiny what the heck RV center come on man make that bigger all this fine prank crap because all the legalese nonsense too much going on over here throwing way too much this could have been a half the size saved a ton of budget and be able to help their customers out even more also look at this the address Stuart Florida I'm all the way in Margate you know how long it'll take me to get to Stuart Florida to me a for effort as for execution I mean this is just poorly done for such a big company tiny little letter if you're watching this Florida outdoors RV call me I'd be more than happy to help you and coach you through some other ideas so anyways this is a really interesting piece so I hope you guys I'm gonna come back under the camera I
