Every Team's 2022 Training Camp Highlights

[Music] [Music] [Music] yeah it's been smooth it's been smooth it's uh it's obviously it's different anytime you change places but i've been enjoying it it's been it's been really cool teammates i mean welcome me with open arms right out the gate i mean we got a long way to go man it's a i'm feeling really comfortable you know as of now about as comfortable as you can be at this point but we still got a lot to learn a lot to work on and just trying to trying to build off what we what we kind of did in the the spring [Music] the fans of the buffalo bills across the world this is what they've waited for our players our staff has worked extremely hard to get us to this point but every year is a new year as you know and we have to chase our standard we've got a lot of work to do out here at training camp and in order to earn that right to uh to be one of the better teams in the nfl you know i think we're always chasing that excellence you know that's what we started in the off season as soon as the season was over but we didn't accomplish our goal last year and we get right back at it through last season the off season in particular and now here we are at training camp ready to put the next brick on top when it comes down to playing ball oh y'all know josh allen is a gamer he's a he's a football player so and going into the third year it's about dominating i believe that you know that's my quarterback i'm rocking with him regardless i just want to dominate it i don't want to lose [Music] we got a lot of guys that love football that want to come in here and work and obviously we see stuff on on sportscenter or whatever that is um and that that people kind of doubt us a little bit i think it gives guys extra motivation to come out here and just play even better than they than they they thought they could because they want to make sure to prove that we're still gonna be the the prolific offense that we've been uh since the andy reid's been in kansas city i obviously want to be at the top of the list i want the chiefs to be at the top of the rankings i want to do whatever i can to put us in those positions that all comes with how you play on the field and so you can have these off season lists and everything like that when it comes down to it it's going to be who's there in the middle of february holding up that trophy and getting that ring so i think whenever you have that motivation to be the best um and to win as a team then everything else kind of [Music] i mean it's exciting the emotions are high and um you know we're looking forward to to having a really good camp a good competitive physical camp and and uh but for me personally it's exciting to be back out you know on the grass with these guys for another training camp and and uh you know seeing seeing where we go you know that's the goal obviously is to make a significant jump in year two um and and i think building off of last year the fact that he played the entire season we can build off of that and really really expect kind of a sky's the limit mentality you know with him he's in the same he's in the same frame of mind as well he wants to take that next that next step and not only in his growth but but obviously leading leading this football team so um today's day one of that and um you know we're just uh we're just excited to be on the grass with him and [Music] [Music] that are great communicators those are the kind of things that we're looking for in our players but i think more than anything it's one thing to have it on a wall or say it but it's more about how we do things on a daily basis and then how they embody it and bring it to life and so these veterans their teammates the guys that have been here the best examples and usually you know the best thing is i always say i see better than i hear and when you watch the way that the veterans handle themselves if these rookies kind of mimic and emulate that while still being themselves um they're going to be good fits here this is trey's team and that's nothing against jimmy we made that decision a year ago and we're going with that and we're not going to mess around with that anymore and i don't think we really have messed around with that much but once we made that decision we did and um jimmy understands that fully there's um he's a big guy and he's nothing against him either that's a business decision and that's what makes it not awkward um yeah it's tough there's contracts or stuff that you have to do and that's what when i feel like we're doing that as good as we can and that is possible because of the type of guy jimmy is the type of relationship we have and the circumstances everyone i think if you look at it you can see why it got to this with the surgery and when it happened and we understand it and it'll take care of itself but um jimmy knows we're going with trey trey knows we're going with trey and our team does so that's and everyone likes both the guys so it's it is what it is [Music] for me you know it's not a money play it's not none of that right it's just for me to come out here um knowing my value and knowing what i have to offer right and like i said the book the buckingham organization just giving me the opportunity to come here and showcase my skills and just to be a part of something new be a part of this team like i said i mean they have everything that they need already right so it's just like but you got to put the work in each and every day nothing is given to you um you got to come to work every day [Music] so [Music] so [Music] the work come first um the work comes first every day we take it day by day trying to get prepared for the day so we can attack every day um so just growing with time um getting it getting getting everything together um so we can all be on the same page you know we put so much work in in the off season with aj dallas smitty everybody everybody putting a thousand reps in a whole bunch of reps so so we can come out here and play ball at a high level and continue what we built so we're taking it day by day um with our preparation our routine trying to be consistent but we're taking it day by day rep by rep and just taking that approval you know it means a lot to me um you know just me being the quarterback of our team i'm the leader so uh you know these guys need to see uh how hard i work you know what i do on and off the field and you know just need these guys to follow me and you know just just play play hard so as long as i show them which i think they do know you know how hard i work you know what i do to you know prepare and stuff like that it's just just kind of follow with everyone behind you know i'm going to work until until we get that super bowl trophy so um as long as i'm here you know i think everybody in the building knows you know i'm going to work i'm going to do whatever i can to help us win games to help us you know be better each and every day so i think we've seen it and uh you know a lot of guys have that you know a taste in their mouth of what it means to go to a super bowl how to get there the work that it takes the adversity we got to overcome and we kind of got the blueprint you know out here we're starting from ground zero you know building that thing back to the top and uh that's the mentality we have yeah you know i i know i my expectations when we first came out of uh out of the regular season from last year um going forward uh but you know now having a quarterback of carson stature carson's ability um you know we kind of changed our focus a little bit so i'm pretty excited to see where we are exactly as a football team now that we'll be in pads we'll have pre-season to gauge some things off of but i do like where we are i do like who we are and i like our potential [Music] [Music] i really like our quarterback room i don't know i don't know many teams that you know we have sam darnold who's been our starter who had an excellent spring and talking to him this summer sam's had an excellent summer so we have sam we add in baker mayfield you know who who's took cleveland to the playoffs won a playoff game set the rookie touchdown record to add him that's another starting caliber quarterback matt corral is a young guy that we drafted that we really like and have a lot of hope for and i expect him to come compete you know i showed up to the stadium last night and matt was in there working out back in charlotte you know getting ready and so that's another guy and then obviously pj walker is a guy that you know we've asked him to start for us twice and twice pj has has gone out and won so not many teams have you know four quality players like that and it's going to be a a lot of great competition and to be quite honest with you nick i think it'll be really good for our team the competition i feel like uh up until this point in my career i've accomplished things but uh ultimately you want to get you want to get to a super bowl and you want to win it and that's the only thing on my mind at this point in my career you want to try to create as much competition as possible because i think that's going to bring out the best in each other and so um but i don't sit there and say that was an offensive day or that was a defensive day you know you're just really looking at the process of all the things that you can control and less about the outcomes especially early on i mean i could not be more excited for day one of training camp um the opportunity first and foremost uh dive in with these players and start to learn the type of people the type of leaders the type of you know human beings we have on this roster forget the fact that i feel like we have a very good competitive roster that we can do a lot of things with but just the actual attempting to build a culture attempting to you know do it the way you've envisioned and having people so on board with that having your team so on board with that the look in their eye when you stand in front of them i can't wait to do it [Music] i mean you start building you know how you kind of players you bring in here um mindset i think you know as you as you work and you start to try to build confidence and you hope we do need a better job being ready to go week one as we get through this camp we're gonna be competitive we're gonna be a team that's gonna go out there and fight you and we gotta work and we we gotta get better we gotta eliminate things that can get you beat that's the way we work the habits the messaging and you let these guys have real competition and so you come out here and you do drills and you try to set them up and everything we do has got practical application to what helps you win and improve on the field as you improve individually and as a team and so it's something you emphasize every day and you got to make it competitive and then you got to reward those guys that compete and win i think it's important to to not pigeonhole yourself i also think that's a competitive advantage for the miami dolphins because if you have just a type cast of like how you operate the other team gets paid too and defensive coordinators probably know that pattern so i think it that's the value of approaching each and every situation independently i know that i'm aggressive but i have to take in consideration all things it's not about offensive stats it's about winning the football game and if winning the football game is 3-0 you know there's no asterisks on that w [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah i think mac's done a great job he's worked extremely hard he's got a tremendous work ethic and in all areas um you know i think there's a dramatic improvement his you know his physical work and conditioning working on his mechanics working on his footwork working on his understanding of our offense of opponent defenses of situations um all those things yeah he's worked hard he's made tremendous strides and you know we did a great job last year but he's starting from a much much higher point this year than where he started last year so um you know his his off season work has been significant and i think everyone recognizes um you know how how well he prepares and how much further along he loves them than he was a year ago when you get to a place whether this is a head coach or a play caller the first thing you need to do is to figure out what makes your players take the best you can and build relationships with them before anything and then once you get them out in the spring and you see their skill set and what they can do you have a vision for them maybe before you got to the place and then until they're actually doing things that you're going to ask them to do or you come up with some new things that they've done in the past that they really feel comfortable with i think that's the job of a coach we're still experimenting with things and putting guys in different spots and utilizing you know offensively defensively in the kicking game we're moving guys around [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] zeke kelly is one of our rocks on his team he's a he's a keystone player and so you know the communication and his ability to do all the extra little stuff and those are the things that i'm obviously i get to look at and be a part of but you see all the extra work that he puts in pre-practice post-practice in there on tuesdays i mean he's in a quarterback meetings in the morning so you know but the physical part of it you know he overcame a lot to play i think that speaks volumes about him and you need those type of individuals to win championships [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] well i think it's a really good team that i'm coming into they've been built really well here the last you know four or five years bringing in guys that you know love football work hard uh and are great players and um for me you know it makes it a lot easier when you've got good players around you and coming into a situation like that is always great and then you know i think frank is you know he's special he's a really good person you know great football coach and has done a great job of you know creating a culture here um that encourages guys to work hard and enjoy what you're doing no question the same thing you've seen i think that those kind of things are points of emphasis for lamar in the offseason and uh to see him come in and make those throws is really it's a positive thing for us so we just got to keep building now we definitely want to throw the ball downfield so that's definitely going to be a you know i hope it's a big part of our offense it really just boils down to how good we are at it you know if we get good at it we'll be throwing the ball downfield a lot you know he's be strong and he looks great there's no doubt about it you'll be impressed with what you see [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so to think that i can accomplish everything that i've accomplished in my career and not be a student of the game and not not not have that passion and not not take this serious is is almost it's disrespectful and it's it's almost it's almost a joke you know i'm flattered you know i'm honestly flattered that y'all think that at my size i can go out there and not prepare for the game and not not take it serious it's it's it's disrespectful i feel like to my peers to all the to all the the great athletes and great players that are in this league this game is too hard to play the position that i play in this league it's it's too hard right really it's just focusing one play at a time i think kind of goes back to what you know pretty much everybody says you know how can i just keep improving you know today was day one and there's still things i can go back and and improve on that i got to do better and so how can i just keep improving and then you know not not stressing so much about the season coming up and the expectations and all that it's how can i just keep improving day by day and you know trusting in the guys around me get them the football be consistent you know throw good balls be smart all the things that quarterback needs to do and i think that'll take care of itself
