hey brother guys Avengers infinity war the cinematic event of your lifetime apparently according to marketing is coming out this Thursday it kind of is like it's it's an event because there has been a teen movies leading up to this one movie I've seen them all yeah he's taking like I don't know 12 years it's crazy this is gonna be a really wild and like I'm gonna actually talk about it a few times as we're going through our rankings but like this is the capstone piece like the the big finale - right everything else like so many when you really look at these movies so many of them are episodes right where there is a movie that was complete and how to start a middle and ending and everything but really that movie exists - to get it here to get to here right yeah so it's hi this is like a phenomenon yeah this this particular set of movies obviously is like changing cinematic history altogether oh yeah totally is it'll be interesting to see where it goes but for now as we said there are currently 18 Marvel MCU movies and we are going to be ranking them all today from 18 - number one are you ready [Music] this was really really hard at once it was hard I'm excited to see where we're the same where we were different mm-hmm the way that we have instructor structured is so that we're going to be doing them in groups of six okay so we'll have the bottom six the middle six and our top six okay so you wanna you want to go ahead and rattle off yours and we'll compare and contrast let's do it and argue yeah all right seriously bottom six from 18 to 13 I have four to dark world Iron Man 3 the Incredible Hulk Iron Man 2 Thor 1 and Doctor Strange literally I think we have the same ones in the same order not not in the same order down the same order but that's pretty well but just great Wow so I have Iron Man 2 okay The Incredible Hulk Thor dark world Iron Man 3 4 and Doctor Strange oh my gosh we do have the exact same sadek's that's what is that we didn't discuss any of this add of time at all no no no ok so ok just touch on all six of these and this is gonna be easy hey no argument yet although I feel like the arguing is really what makes it fun Wow well how dare you put Iron Man 2 at the bottom instead of 4 - ha ha man sorry about that no actually really I think I think by my real slight towards Iron Man 2 because I did I did not like Iron Man 2 I love Iron Man as a character of the original Iron Man Iron Man 2 was just like uncomfortable and weird there's like the scene where he like gets drunk at the party not like the Sudan is just like it was like this I don't know nothing about it felt it's okay to have the character be flawed and I feel like that's what they do with a lot of these movies is they're so powerful that they have to make them flawed in some way right and Tony Stark above all else like he doesn't even have like his own actual super power it's like his intelligence yeah so his erratic behavior obviously well yeah it's annoying because like the whole first movie is about him transforming from this like playboy right rich boy dislike responsible adult and they means like what few steps back what happened it screws with this character arc a little yeah little bit the the really like Iron Man's two and three I feel like present an Iron Man character that is not consistent with the rest of any of his other appearances altogether the weird thing about Iron Man it's like Iron Man one is great yes and then two and three yeah obviously we both thought they weren't very good and then but weirdly like I still have Iron Man because it's not like he doesn't show up everywhere anyway like he's in spider-man he's on all the Avengers movies and it's like in all those appearances like awesome he always steals a show yeah like Iron Man is I feel like the backbone of of the MCU yeah I mean he started it alright we'll get to that at some point right yeah I think Iron Man - you're right I think I hate the scene where he gets all drunk and I hate where I mean early on they said they like reveal how they're gonna beat the villain where they like shoot the Rays at each other it's like as soon as I saw that I was like well there's the ending there yeah yeah well you wanted the other problem with this movie it was almost the same thing that the Star Wars prequels suffered from and I literally I wrote down too many lightsabers problems where it's like start the prequels for light man everybody loves lightsabers let's just have as many men as humanly possible same thing with the Iron Man suits it's like let's just have them everywhere Iron Man suits versus Iron Man suits with Iron Man suits it's like you know what like it's not fun if everybody has an Iron Man suit man let me dunk it listen we're getting into a lot more Iron Man 3 there I had that what was it 17th sure basically that reason 1 by the time I got to Iron Man 3 it wasn't even like it should have been called like Tony Stark 1 basically for as much time as he spends in the suit right you know it's like none time and then even when the suits are on screen he's not even in them like remote control in like 20 of them it's like well why are you ever in the suit if you can just do this right like what's the point at all and then of course once he's not in them they can be destroyed at will sure whatever the bad guy is and then at the end he's gonna breathe fire right right yeah yeah Mandarin yeah one they totally do the Mandarin fake-out thing where if you're familiar with like the actual comic villain he's like one of Iron Man's big foes and he's got like they set you up for it in the first time man he's got like these ten rings and they all do magic and stuff and it's supposed to be like magic and technology and it's a cool fight sure and they set you up I show you the guy in the previews and then we get in the movie and it's like nope just kidding it's just this nerdy dude with a vengeance pepper comes out of nowhere like karate kicks him out of here and you're like okay why is it I just watch it sure sure I saw Tony Stark not be Iron Man and gets saved by his girlfriend and it's like it's okay if pepper does some fightin but like it's called an Iron Man I see him be the guy right no I completely agree yeah they could have called the pepper one they could call pepper one honest that'd be great maybe it would have been better maybe it was a bit better what I was finding is that and we can actually segue nicely into Thor a lot of my favorites in this are typically origin stories and fours like I don't know the first the first two Thor movies are just underwhelming altogether like yeah he is just a character that is too powerful to put him against anything like these these movies struggle with this idea where like they they want to demonstrate just how great they are and like whenever you see Thor battle especially if it's like a montage scene he goes in and it's just like big dude comes with his dreams and he spends the hammer and hits him in the head and crumbles into nothing and it's like well who do you put him against right the thing about Thor is that he does suffer from like over power syndrome right where it's like yeah I think most of like Thor wand is him trying to prove to the hammer that he's worthy again so in the meantime he's a little more vulnerable because he doesn't have the hammer sure right and then his brother I mean Loki the thing is Loki is like the best villain in the MCU right my opinion right and so it's he's way smarter than Thor and I think that's supposed to be like the great thing it's like groans first my brains but yeah obviously brawn wins when it comes to Thor I could tell you the work he was at the very bottom of my lesson this is why I was going through it today and I was like let me give yourself a quick refresher so it's like scrubbing through the movie and I'm like I even see this did I even I know I've seen it you know you've watched I'm elevated I'm like okay I remember Loki being in the little gold Prison thing that seems familiar I think that's just because Oh Tom Hiddleston's basically steals the show when he's on screen and all he's doing is sitting in a room sure and the rest of the movie I was like I could not have you Night Elves I couldn't even told you I couldn't have even told you I remember the æther that's one of the Infinity stones isn't this one I was like that's that's the important thing right red is aether it was in dark world as far as I'm concerned that was actually as we were reviewing all of these movies if I remembered less about it then that literally was just a characteristic of the movie it's like hey I have seen all of these movies and like we've even studied them and it's like if I if I don't remember enough about it to like give you a synopsis yeah that's that wasn't great didn't make a good impression I mean good impression okay let's see The Incredible Hulk on here as well I just I was I knew we were doing this video so I actually had not seen it until this past weekend and I think a lot of people just sort of discount it because it was Edward Norton and now they replaced him with Mark Ruffalo and I never really acknowledged any of his ordnance or he just sort of exists do you like shows up and Avengers I mean like oh cool yeah yeah yeah but I'll say this it's it's not a bad movie it's not like super memorable by any means it's pretty basic gets powers fights a version of himself joins show no yep but the opening they tried to like avoid doing the origin story thing he just starts as the Hulk okay but so during the opening credits they do this thing we're like they're actually showing you the origin story but it looks like they're showing you snippets that you're going to see in the movie okay so like it's just the opening credits I'm not really paying attention I'm like feeding Luke a little bit and then all of a sudden I'm like oh oh I just missed a ton Oh like I was just reading the dialer and all those other cast members from right where I didn't realize there was important plot details here right no I get what you're saying and like actually it's interesting because like we'll come back to it later but like spider-man homecoming does the same thing where they just sort of skip that origin story altogether right yeah it's like you know what we know it yeah yeah we do not need to spend too much time like I love origin stories but like we don't need to spend too much time on the ones that have been like over all right and then they like they like get rid of it in like one conversation he has with his friend on the street he's like so you just get bit by a spider right okay done we're good we understand that's how it happened in this one we understand we got we're all moving on moving on um Doctor Strange Doctor Strange you have in okay really so uh we say bottom six Doctor Strange is where I feel like it's not a bad movie it just happens that we ranked them this way and I think it's probably the first good movie sure in the list I know people are scream you can let me know how wrong we are in the cowl section I how Thor is the best movie and his hair is amazing and no there's no bid Thor Thor gets better with the less hair he has for sure yeah yeah it's a lot to figure out over Doctor Strange Doctor Strange so I like Doctor Strange a lot because it's like it takes a lot of fundamental approaches that people have in general towards the world so like you've got science and medicine versus like spirits and magic you've got intelligence versus like meeting like feelings and emotions right like that like so you're literally taking competing philosophies and making this one guy like address all of it yeah which is really cool and I liked I just love that that Cumberbatch yeah so there's that - look he he plays like that Sherlock character like he's smarter than everybody else in the room for and and he's like confident with reason right like he is that good wrong and then he walks into a world where he's not right and he has to be ridiculously humbled and yes yeah over overcome all of the all the angst I think maybe the reason I put it so low is just because like I think what what the MCU needed was they wanted Doctor Strange there for infinity war like needed him sure he's gonna have a pivotal role but they're like we haven't put him in here early enough and the he goes from like zero to a hundred in that our level it like nothing yeah no it takes he gets there he's like Oh magic I don't even believe in magic then like ten minutes later he's like I am the best student who's ever come to this school whoopee-doo flop fine yeah yes we're so good at family like don't play off the time stone he's like I'm about the time stone Oh mastered it I'm gonna beat this guy oh do my little guy I can't remember his name play with it I was over it over ya know so um I'm right there with you like I think it falls into this bottom category I very much like the movie but yeah it just starts to be against very fierce competition very quickly it does it gets the movies get significantly better I even have like a little errors where I've been rearranging them for the rest of the day on my list here oh yeah oh no I remember more yep better do you want to move to a middle 600k we'll move to the middle six soon all right this is 12 through seven okay go I've got ant-man age of Ultron guardians of the galaxy volume 2 Captain America 1 Iron Man 1 and Thor Ragnarok No is it the same no it's not the same good I disagree with you very much alright let's hear it wrong am I I don't know I mean I think I won't really be able to get after you were talking my top one couple of them in there boy okay so I have 12 guardians to 11 is age of Ultron 10 is the Avengers 9 is ant-man 8 is thor ragnarok and 7 is spider-man homecoming well I think people are going to be so we're gonna argue about sounds like a spider-man and I man spider-man irons you must have spider-man way up there I have it obviously higher than you but you must have iron bed behind the Beast yes absolutely wise they're all the same yeah you have Avengers one up down here too yes I do uh-huh mm-hmm so this is super interesting okay so the ones we had in common then we're Aunt May and Ragnarok guardians to an Ultron yes okay so where do you want to start with that one I had guardians to this one we have the bracket going right now and it is like the upset champion oh boo right yeah I don't know if you guys are problem any longer than Super Colon bracket challenge on Twitter you should follow me and Ben and the bacon eggs podcast which is made up of our younger brother Tyler and he's co-host Ethan yes so we are determining the best movies for Marvel Pixar Disney and Harry Potter Star Wars and right now he just blowing my mind how well guardians of the galaxy volume 2 it is a Cinderella story of the season it is but like I don't so like the first time it went up I was like four people confusing it with guardians one like like am I missing something here so like I'll touch a little bit on guardians one because guardians was like spectacular if there's wonderfully original and it was like such a good combination of like not taking itself too seriously but it's really really good because of that yes and then like thor ragnarok does a little bit of the same thing like where it becomes like a little bit of like a joke of itself I think Thor when they get to Thor Ragnarok and I guess we can talk about its own cousins in this yeah I feel like yeah they were like hmm you know it did really well guardians you know it didn't do so well for two why don't we just make Thor three guardians but with Thor but with Thor yeah because there's nothing better than for like this character they that's what the other two movies did so well with Thor Ragnarok is setting him up as this guy who like is always pretty dang serious right and then like now he's just making a joke out of everything it's like and it's hard not to laugh yeah right the the humor is like a little over the top a little bit too far I think like I love the movie but like the whole thing is a joke no we'll see okay so this is what I heard so much of I did I just saw it a couple weeks ago I didn't see it in theaters but everything I heard from everyone was oh he either oh it's so great it's so funny or that it was now that took it too far it was way too far that I liked it so much so where did you land I thought I did not think it was too funny I mean very funny but I thought that was it was great I mean it was I thought it was perfect in terms of like matching the humor with like the seriousness of whatever situations they were in I love that I love this is what about Thor Ragnarok here's what I love okay I loved was so kind of that the the emcee used it I'm so developed now yeah this is like if you're finalists are really reaping all the benefits of having all these characters introduced sure because like after you had Avengers any movie you came out after that you were like well what are they just cool the rest of the Avengers right yeah yeah I don't think about I don't think about it and this one I feel like they were like okay Thor and Loki come to earth we introduced Doctor Strange accordance is what we send dr. strange if Loki showed up on earth he would probably need to step in and they're like boom next up same like immediately right and it's like it doesn't it doesn't feel like well we're just doing a cameo it's like no we made rules now we're following them sure yeah I think that's that's a perfectly fair way to put it in like the more that you can integrate these characters like that I think works very very very well like where you can almost even imagine us an area where they're not just all out kicking but constantly right like where they all have their own specific agendas yeah so I think that that was a good use of like Doctor Strange yeah yeah for sure I don't know I don't know like I I think it's one of those things like where does the movie like stand up well on its own like where the humor and everything almost plays well because of what you already know about the character right that's that's why I feel like it it plays well like you I don't I don't think you could just sit down to that movie it would probably even be super funny without knowing everything I think I think it plays well I think it does a good job one it gets rid of the hammer again right because they're like you write yourself a dough into a corner when you have a Thor's hammer here it's just like once he's holding it he's basically invincible you know how are you holding that well I'm very you don't even touch it I can tell because of the the shimmery noise that Thor's hammer is constantly making whenever in motion yeah that's right it's like it it just it vibrates oh boy someone had fun in the Foley Department yes sound effects for Thor's hammer they did I feel like we were not having objective thoughts about most of these here ant-man and without ant-man I like ant-man you do I do I think it's like no one's ever heard of ant-man there's a problem like no one this isn't the difference is that no one turned the guardians of the galaxy either right but now everyone loves them right right and you're like I've never heard of this I guess I'll go see Chris Pratt's in it whatever and it's like amazingly successful so when you compare that to an man also no one's heard of him sure and then you walk out and you're like oh that was like a spy movie it's not like that's like my new favorite thing sure well well in it man like is almost even one with the title of movie tells you the premise it's like I think that was my problem with it where like when I first I'm like ain't really is there a wait like I understand danced him like lift more than that like you know multiple times their body weight and everything like is there a good way to demonstrate how that skill is or that ability is useful and that is actually where I think ant-man comes across very very well like they take a rather challenging ability to make seem practical and totally use it yeah they do a very good job yeah with those powers yes but there are a lot of times we were like maybe don't think about it too much because sure like he carries the tank around in his pocket and they make it sound like that's super light or whatever and then there's other times when they make stuff tiny and it's like still really heavy I don't know like what is it what are the rules like there's not a whole lot continuity right like yeah I saw the power it's like the power's work as conveniently as they need you for the character there's and that's that's true it's it's like a little bit gimmicky like where if you if you spend too much time with the idea of like well what can we be carrying at all times to make it large and then it'd be super useful right and that's that's a slippery slope or I think if they were to make too many of them they would very quickly run out of gags right because yeah it's it's super fun the first time and then progressively less fun thereafter yeah but it is I love like although I do love like all the see it's like when they're fighting in the little girl's bedroom and they keep going it under their lover looks like a train's coming and then they come back it's like oh it's so menacing see how small yeah never mind no and I uh let's see here I I guess I like the redemption story that is a man I feel that's that's a good one yeah it's just I mean it's a good funny it's a Paul Rudd comedy there's a heist to spy it's a heist movie basically what it is his team is pretty funny oh my gosh they do have like a really unique like style of comedy in the movie yes like whenever the one guy's explaining everything was like my friend told me this man he's this guy and then they keep zooming around right oh man that's that is really funny yeah good yeah what works out and your though um so would you like to battle the spider-man homecoming oh man I can't believe you don't have spider-man homecoming higher on your list oh I feel like I'm gonna catch some flack for this one I feel like you are I really like spider-man homecoming a lot yeah it's a I think he's by far my favorite Peter Parker yeah I think yeah do you agree I agree I agree but let me say this missile provocation fly I think it goes spider-man homecoming original spider-man movies and then Andrew Garfield liked them here oh I think original spider-man do you think they've all gotten better I know I mean the Andrew Garfield ones to me are not super memorable I was I thought that they were good entertaining movie sure but like they're not a piece of a bigger picture I guess in my mind so just like it gets lost in your memory of brand-new movies yeah I like the original spider-man a lot two and three I could kind of take your shorts short anyway no poisonous spider baby yeah uh Tom Holland who plays Peter Parker Peter Parker yeah I think he is like the perfect age for this character he comes across so much more like how you would expect like a high schooler a high schooler you know like even like when they've got him like the Neal he's like they're like is that a new top you know I can they're just dazing at the cute girl across the room or whatever like yes these are high school students yeah even like his angst enos where he's like I just want to be like I want to be doing more like let me do something oh yeah that's such a teenager in town yeah it totally is I've seen a lot of versions of spider-man like I've tried to watch something like the animated versions and whatever and I've even read some of the comics and like when whatever they fit whatever version it is what they failed to do correctly is make you feel like Peter Parker is a high school student and spider-man is a high school student it seems like most the time what they do is they have this awkward guy who's going to high school but then when he turns into spider-man he's like amazing at everything and super cool but not sure they really get it just right you're like he doesn't even win like he is not good at being spider-man oh yeah he's not even at the end of the movie he's still not very good right you know i Quinn's in spite of himself right like he has incredible ability break the the tactics that he's taking are not always that thought out oh my gosh when he falls through the parachute underwater yeah that's big big bear he's my nightmare like I can't think of anything worse that could possibly happen to me than struggling to break free of have you ever jumped into water with clothes on it immediately jumps right up to you oh yeah that's like the actual actual works and then oh like the iron made appearances in spider-man I like the Iron Man appearances I like I keep losing the backpack gags like that it just it does it's like what I like about the MCU is they're not like people are like I'm tired superhero booze and it's like the MCU you can tell is fighting hard against that they're like okay don't worry this is like high school movie also meets the superhero right you know that that's I feel like how they're doing it it's what was the other one so it's like ant-man it's like this is a heist movie also he's a superhero sure you know or like Jessica Jones it's like it's a P I it's like a film noir kind of style of thing on Netflix but she's just really strong right you know right yeah yeah no it's it's definitely in it's good because like you want to see these characters develop you want to see them like interact and do things but like if it's constantly and I think I've got this note written down on actually the First Avenger but it feels more like man versus man like slightly elevated instead of gods versus gods which becomes like pretty unrelatable pretty quickly like what the Netflix shows have done such a good job of is like most of the time you're not watching aliens attacking planet Earth you're watching the crime Lord attack this section of New York City right like and that plays well because it's not like completely over the top right that's why there that was so good it needs to be I hope man okay I was like Dara know what cameo be aiming for it'll be pretty great it would be even great if they just had him like trip someone right like you know I kill he can be just like walking down the street like he just gets in the way was yeah they just didn't have like at some point like yeah like Matt Murdock or Luke Cage looking over their shoulder is something happening in space and be like oh man right will Phil Coulson come back mmm good question this whole show to himself all right here's the other big difference we had here is iron man yeah you have iron man in the middle six all right looking six look I look at my top six and I think what number is it even that it's that eight yeah eight eight I know it's hard if this is like the one that started all I probably saw my grandma theatres a few times this is only Washington like we're always talking about her mom's minivan we watched this woman there a lot it is really good but it's like I look at the scripts Jack Tony Stark built this oh this is like this is like the character so like I I did not grow up like a comic book person and so like going to see Iron Man I had no idea what Iron Man was I could not have told you anything about the character at all and by the end of it like I I think I had an Iron Man ever gone before I even left the theater it's such a cool story to me because like it starts so simple and it is sort of this like dig your way out of the trenches thing where he's like captured and he has to like use all of this massive intelligence with such like basic raw materials and I don't know I just oh I know why you like it it's because he's like in a cave with a bunch of metal I mean builds a giant soup yeah exactly that's why I love this but you love it what's not liked the best about that every time Ben has an idea for anything the answer is let's go get some let's get some lumber and snails and we'll go from there yeah like eventually I'm hoping that like all this hard work will lead to me being captured in a cave and I'll be able to build a suit to protect myself on the way out right nicely you're just like watching your fantasy being lived out yeah really yes it so maybe I hate Iron Man start gets the beat well yeah Shh it's a want to put the helmet on no it's okay it's a great story or a great story what's the guy who creates weapons and then he becomes a superhero and like the whole idea then is like the responsibility factor of it and he like is interacting with crime on like a national basis as well as like No yeah I agree I would just rather watch like if you said to me like would you rather watch Iron Man water spider-man homecoming right now I'd be like oh that's better man Oh Iron Man it's not even a competition for me that's all right Iron Man is even one of those movies where even if it's not technically a sound it's like it falls into that category of I would rather watch this then than most of the other ones mhm and I guess that's that's probably it for me like I don't even know if there's a good profound argument to be had other than I just really like Iron Man so it must be pretty high on your list of lips let's move into the top six then shall we the top six the top six all right you want to lead off alright going from six the number one I've got Avengers okay the Winter Soldier okay Civil War spider-man Home Coming guardians of the galaxy and Black Panther dang solid lineup solid line okay so I have at number six Winter Soldier number five I have the Captain America the First Avenger number four I have Civil War number three I have guardians of the galaxy number two Iron Man number one Black Panthers oh man I knew we were gonna agree I'm like oh man Black Panther is very good Black Panther is very good it's it's not surprising good because it's like the 18th one they've made it's like we've got this down no if anything I would argue it's amazing that it was the 18th one they did and it was still so good yeah like like the fact that they could still make it fresh and cool you're absolutely right I mean like they've definitely figured out what works and doesn't work but Black Panther to me was this movie that did such a phenomenal job of building a specific world that we're gonna live inside of for this movie right yeah like all of the rituals all of the practices like very quickly you've come to understand how these people live right and what their lifestyle is like and what they value like me you can watch the movie and you just fundamentally understand like there what kind of people true I guess that is that's a very good point having thought about like that but yeah if you watch any other Supergirl they exist out in the regular world and you feel like you can weigh in on their politics or how they feel about stuff before this is its own world until you get to be like oh I can see why they do things this way sure you know and it is fun how the world is like like they still have like this African rituals yeah about how they determined the king I like the misdirection they do at the beginning of the movie where they're like four tribes is it greater than there is this fifth tribe and there are losers they actually come and help yeah they come in to help at the end oh that's so fun they do kind of they also come and try and steal the throne early on but no but like even that even that one I think it's the level of respect involved with like this community of people is outstanding to me like I like the fact the the way that they can contest like who steps into the throne like that's something that's myths missing from every throne story ever what right is everything right it's like no no like just yes the the blood right will have first go at but they can be contested by other people with appropriate blood rights sure like it diversifies the pool of people that can step in right better and I think it holds people to a higher standard because I think there's so much to be said for like this idea that like the little prince or princess is just this spoiled rotten little kid who's not ready to take over the throne that the parent you know right rightfully earned right it's interesting that it keeps like calm it forces combat to be like a really important thing from the top down right you know it's like that that because of the way they choose to the king is it makes hand-to-hand combat a continued important tradition in their culture sure because like if you don't do it you might lose the throne sure sure so when like it's almost like an archaic thing that they maintain right when otherwise like their technology is really their strong suit right it's not their hand yeah it's like because they're so advanced on this thing but they're like connected to their roots by this by this one thing which determines like everything right right yeah that's so cool tradition meets technology well executed yes indeed so I also love at the very beginning when they show you I think it's Oakland and the like the little kids are playing basketball and they're shooting them you know milk cream okay yeah yeah it's it's so good cuz you think these kids are just like sending the atmosphere for poor Brooklyn and Rises like this lifestyle then they come back and it's like that kid that's the guy that's the kid right there might be good Dom ants well yeah I mean you can watch our whole review of Black Panther by thinking in the car we talked about it for a while and we loved it but anyway let's get back India we'll talk about some of the other ones we didn't talk about Avengers 1 you got you had this in your top six no avenge Ernest I actually have it in the middle six middle six Oh in tenth position um the Avengers movies to me are fantastic in life so I have civil war at four yeah and I guess civil wars technically a Captain America but it's I mean it's it's a Captain America movie because you have the Avengers fighting each other like otherwise it would be an Avengers movie like it's got all people right we're all there right so the Civil War in my mind the reason I haven't ranked so highly is because it is the best executed version of having them all there all of the other movies make maybe it is one of these things like where you step again into that idea of like over godliness but and they even address it in the movie itself where you've got like the Challenger is going to to meet mm-hmm like whatever they are right so like the more powerful they get the more powerful that the oncoming traffic is gonna be right like it's going to balance like before the Avengers we just didn't get attacked by aliens yeah now we have Avengers comes aliens right so and I'm not a huge fan of like the giant city crushing battle scenes you know what that's not even like why I put Avengers as high as I did okay we'll give me the argument one I think it is absolutely Loki at his best which is Laura he's pulling all the strings he's like totally the big bad villain they put him in like this inescapable cage and he's like yeah right right all right he's still like logic so I'm just gonna trick my ladder here it's not gonna be a problem at all you idiots he's like making fun of the whole time right I just re-watched that seize the day mentioning that cage then like the whole cage in the middle there yes you mentioned when Spiderman falls into the water in the parachute when Loki tricks the wart into that cage like it like that gives me like like tear a terrible feeling oh I don't know what it is about that scene in particular but it always just makes me feel like super bad I get real tense just being trapped it's just like I guess cuz on the one hand like Thor's also like like the most powerful one or whatever and it's like oh no like his longest or was out there you were probably okay it's like oh crap things are really bad now right right yeah the whole good board definitely like counter each other nicely they do they like you've got the Hulk who is like who is the most powerful but the least controllable right right like that that's yeah that's like his caveat right and then yeah then you've got Thor who it's like you just have to keep like putting him places about his hammer yeah because otherwise know what they did in this movie is exactly what you said they're like well they do it they do the same thing with Thor every time they're like we gotta figure out how to power balance them right they're like the worst job of this movie is to control the Hulk right it's like fight him so that he doesn't destroy everything else short so that's what he gets sidelined doing for a lot of the movie but then I also like at the same time you say like yeah Thor and the Hulk were like the most powerful but then they have Hawkeye who Loki's like go ahead control of you so it's like Hawkeye causes all sorts of problems for them like he has his bow and arrow and he like takes down the whole Helicarrier you know yeah he's a good shot though it's a good shot it's like they're really creative with the arrows I like I like how they took like who most people were considered to be like the least powerful like why do you have that guy right he's like no I wouldn't ends up being super ends up being supercritical ya know it's it's very interesting the way that they could like bring in the characters I think in even an age of Ultron you've got like who's the speeds they're crooks over yes Quicksilver it's like usually speedsters are these ridiculously overpowered characters but again he's more like a sideline character that's just sort of like yeah busy bopping around yeah it's yeah speedsters do often get that problem like if you walked that's that's where you're right it's like Marvel does a thing where it's like or DC Comics often have like well these are the gods fighting each other sure it's like the flash is like the god of speed and like Quicksilver is like I'm still pretty fast right right way fast enough to do lots of cool things but like move people out of the way of trying spatula through yeah yeah cool just such a good full mm-hmm the other thing about Avengers is that I've got a lot of like it's like it was like the first big test for like them see it was like this is the first time anything like that had ever happened sure you know like they made the movies they like we're gonna put them all together in one movie now we're gonna do it we even know the crossovers and boom here it is and it was like they nailed it this is like it's really cool to see it is gonna happen it is incredibly cool to see it it's neat to see them all come together it's neat to see them and I have for what it's worth I have felt like they've always done a good job of giving giving each character like the necessary spotlight and importance I mean the movies because it is one of those things like well I bet if you're the writer it's like how we've got a sweet story arc for you know Cap'n this one but then it's like we kind of forgot to include yeah you know whoever else right it's hard to stuff em in so they've done well with that but I think my big thing and kind of what we were talking about with infinity war is that like all of the movies have been like chapters leading up to like a conclusion you know like they could all be episodes instead of standalone movies sort of so like Avengers to me was like the big one where the whole like part of the plot is almost like do we trust each other do we want work together like yeah is this really what we want to do and then it's like then we're all buddy-buddy but we keep almost destroying the world and then you start to see them pull apart mm-hmm now no no they know this is gonna force their hand right it's gonna you know you gotta have that it's like how do you how do you get world peace alien invasion invasion right there right it's it's a simple solution really simple so then what else have we got here I don't think we've talked about any of the Captain America movies yet man which let me just say the Captain America trilogy is easily the best trilogy so far oh yeah definitely yeah definitely yeah it's crushing for and Iron Man I guess Avengers gonna be considered trilogy sort of I don't know you can watch them just in a row ah yeah so I've got First Avenger at five actually ahead of Winter Soldier which I think again is probably a pre uncommon opinion I really like the Steve Rogers story altogether I like the fact that he's like this little asthmatic kid that like yeah you know he's he wants to play fair but he's not gonna like back down from a battle yeah you know and he's like the kid who's like trying and trying and trying against like all reason to try yeah and then sort of gets this opportunity and he's like the super pure at heart and he like maintains it so well yeah halo falls to a fault yeah that's what simple more comes in right so like I'm like team cap all day oh yeah like I love I love the portrayal of him I love him as a character but like even when it comes down to be watching like Iron Man versus like the two arguments in Civil War if not for Steve Rogers right I don't agree with cap that's that's exactly the thing why it's such an interesting thing or such an interesting argument they're having because like yeah I like Tony Stark is probably right there should probably be regulations on thematic control but like but but because captain because Steve Rogers is the one leading them like okay with it right so idea of Ironman coming in like like pushing for the responsible thing and I'm like Johnny micboys Kout is the one opposing it yeah it's like really you are the responsible one like you were supposed like I thought you loved this idea yeah except but then it's also like yeah but of course nobody's doing this taxes correctly is a mistake you made ultra you know I feel I just don't feel like I feel like Iron Man I thought ponies intention is is in the right vein of thinking it's Christ and the Steve just doesn't trust the people that like could then control them right yeah yeah although I do love in spider-man homecoming I mean you have brought this up before but like yeah when Peter's like well I be cap and Iron Man's like if you wanted to beat you you would have crushed you yeah I like the respect for each I do like the respect bad for each other and I love that it's like yeah in Iron Man's mine even though it's just the guy with the shield it's like mm-hmm you know he could be pretty much all of you oh yeah yeah yeah although that's that's actually I've got written for Winter Soldier because I feel like all of Winter Soldier is literally like a super played out version of the arm in the shield basically like like one guy is pure defense and the other guy's pure offense right like in and they like literally play out that idea yeah in the movie right which is really cool so I'm like even even at the end like cap refuses to destroy his friend right like he's like I'm not doing that absolutely not going to yeah and so he's the shield the whole way yeah but then they also have the overarching plot where Hydra is trying to turn shield right into a giant weapon I see what they've done there yeah oh yeah all right Chloe right although what I also love about what your soldier is Captain America brings down three helicarriers with his hands just like yeah okay that's a bad cap look like he also adds the movement hospital bed like you know yeah he takes a beating so that's good to say proves that he's still human despite everything else sorta yeah but oh man the other the other big moment is what they do a really good job of is the I guess if you ever become a computer you know who the Winter Soldier is gonna be but I have no idea and so when he pulls off his mask in everything like rips his mask on you like no lucky no train they do such a good job like Marvel is is one to like tease out reveals like that oh yeah and then like they killed him in the First Avenger and you're like man that's like such a big emotional thing and like they just make no mention of it ever again at all ever right you know he's not around until when her soldier comes back and be like what no it's crazy he survived too crazy years later both of you what are the odds pretty wild pretty well yeah yeah although don't they they sort of like I feel like resurfaced the same conversation then in Civil War like where you have to have like Bucky who is sort of this like loose cannon be on CAPS side because I feel like it takes away credibility from Kat well what he s I can hear is whoever the villain in Civil War is if they have somebody names whatever he just finds out that Winter Soldier is the one who killed Tony Stark's parents and then it turns out they're already on this big argument about something else conveniently that worked out well that worked out super well for the bad guy like oh man you guys are having a big legal battle also this guy he's defending killed your parents so so there's that light over that too let's just take some fuel to put right on that fire okay so I don't think we've fully talked about guardians oh my gosh guardians of the galaxy I mean it's a black brand that came out just would have been my favorite yeah yeah I mean there's so many good things one the music is so good so good it's like you don't think often of like a soundtrack really defining a movie so much but it's not even that the soundtrack like makes the movie so good it's that the soundtrack is a like an extension of star-lord yes part of his character it is as much as anything else right right right I mean they do it like a really you're exactly right like where it's it's part of what you come to expect in movies like of course they're gonna have crazy rock songs while being rain fights happening or whatever but this is totally one of those things where it like it keeps connecting back to what ground star-lord to like sort of this human nature even exact like that's the thing he cares about above all else right it like it gives up me it's so weird for you like eighties rock music goes well with like futuristic space fights and it's like this funny juxtaposition but it also ends up working super well as like a his time to earth and humanity and like where he's from right it makes sense that they're listening to all this music way out in space right right right yeah no absolutely so I think I think guardians is like one of these movies where again going into it it was very similar to ant-man where like these guys yeah I was like like I don't know I feel like if I Capra deucer called me and they were like we would like you to play star-lord I'd be like oh really star-lord that's the one you pick before I don't even know who that is yeah but then it's like by the end of it you bought it and we are Groot yeah yeah the characters are just so good and you've never heard of them but then you just feel like you understand all of them right a little bit by the end and it's it even at the very end he's just like such a goofy here like you don't even know exactly what his powers are he doesn't he's really just like a human guy right good at being like a scavenger sure and he still manages to beat whoever Ronan Ronan had a bold villain of the forgettable yeah Ronan to forget I'm pretty sure that's his official absolute official title hashtag Rowan and their forgettable but he's just like doing like the dance competition and things like woody what are you doing like I'm striking you man yeah man yeah very good very good they just you see a lot more fan oohs yeah I feel like we can use guardians is like man we're gonna fill in a lot of backstory yes absolutely like it brings in as irrelevant as maybe they they will be or won't be in like the final say so like that whole team that's a bunch of characters that include like that's that's what guardians did was it but there were already so many superheroes in this world yeah there's like five of them yeah you know they're gonna team up with or things like yeah yeah yeah great that's gonna be super cool so it'll be very interesting to see but I do feel like they help extend the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the actual universe yeah they're like we need to get some magic restrained jiminy you got some space got a lot of Earth stuff happening for sure the other thing I like about guardians is that I have something it's so high on my list cuz I have some like more personal connections to like right when me and Beth bought our the house we live in like I had I don't download the time using on my phone but I had the soundtrack to this sure so basically we listen to that on repeat like while we painted the rooms before we moved everything in and that was fun so very much associated with like yeah we're like starting my life with my wife we also played a lot of the songs at our wedding yeah yeah didn't we come out to hooked on a feeling yeah yeah we did good times good times and then come and get your love was our first dance so do we do we close out the night with lava this wedding was like it was the one to be at yeah it was the music selection was excellent I dare say I dare say oh man so any other close at closing thoughts expect to happen in an infinity war I expect they most wanted to get the whole gauntlet thing sure it's sort of like a diet victory if he doesn't Yeah right he has to be at full power and they still have to win there's no fun if he's right the question is how are they going to like I bet some people die yeah they got a lot of heroes here and they got to make him seem power like he has to be an actual threat in some way and he's not gonna be an actual threat unless it kills people wouldn't that be a shocking though if like the movies have progressively gotten like funnier and funnier and like super light and then all of a sudden this one ends like on a super intense emotional like tear-jerking one yeah okay I can see it that would be though yeah I don't know who they like who would they kill I don't know I think they could kill cap for sure yeah pick me Derek who was supposed to die in this movie I'm going to refrain from comment and using spoilers no I read comic books I know precisely who is supposed to die okay refraining from comment okay yeah I'm thinking cap dies guys that's that's my that's my cuz then they can like reintroduce the character under a new person a new flagship new yeah I should definitely this is like the end of one like big MC you think there's more movies coming right but now it's like what more can we still do with Captain America reboot right them right right yeah time time to recycle yeah because we love origin stories I think literally out of like my top 10 maybe like eight of them are origin stories yeah Ant Man Spider Man I guess spider-man homecoming isn't really first avenger guardians Iron Man and black panther yeah yeah story I do yeah I'd like to see how it comes to happen it's really not as much fun seeing them use like well practice powers spider is so good right yeah nobody unlocks the rest of the suit though then he like really yeah who's gonna get the final blow on Panos that's the question mmm-hmm I bet it's Iron Man it's like the one who started it all yeah that would make sense they gave him the final moving like Avengers 1 to like he's the one who flies through the portal 1 unless unless it ends up having to be a thing like we're one of them to sacrifice themselves and the other one has to blast them into the blast mm-hmm you know sure the core reactor yeah whatever it is yeah the thing that they need to explode to the rest of the thing explodes right because that's just house to work it's rarely gonna be the case it's like oh you actually they're not gonna like punch they have to do something else to reduce his power and then they can i crush ember right you know that's the fun I wanted to sell on this I want them to like punch him to death maybe somebody will get the gauntlet uppercut vision will die I bet oh sure we're sure sure yeah okay yeah that could happen cuz he has to take the jump from him right right that's like the source of power yeah okay well there you go those are our rankings of the Marvel movies thus far leading into infinity war yes if it is more than two days from when we posted this video you'll
