okay now stop me if you've heard this before but we might actually be getting an EverQuest three and if there's actually a lot more to this this one than previous like rumors and and speculation in fact I am perhaps more excited about the Everquest franchise than I've been since EverQuest Next there was smoke a few months ago when dark pop posted a position for a creative director for what appeared to be an morpg focusing on community and teamwork that may have may or may not be related to an established IP as in EverQuest it was enough to get your hopes up but now now we have something pretty damn concrete and pretty open that we're getting from eg7 as reported by morpg and and massively op as well as others you can see those links below they have announced in their their investor documents that they are basically going to be working on an EverQuest 3. and it might actually be coming sooner than you may think perhaps as soon as 2028 probably about the same time that Elder Scrolls 6 is going to be coming out honestly tremendous thanks to Illidan who is the one who let me know that this was happening through through a DM really appreciate you you can check out illidan's Twitch down below I have linked it thank you again for for letting me know this amazing news that I'm really freaking excited about if you can't if you can't tell these Revelations came from eg7's Capital markets day stream eg7 is the company that owns Daybreak and has been transparent in their investor documents before this is how we learned that Daybreak actually owns standing Stone games how we first learned of The Lord of the Rings graphic tree master then actually got player numbers for various games in her Daybreak so there is some credibility here it's worth noting that eg7 itself has seen Executives from Daybreak find their way into the upper echelons of that company perhaps most notably Daybreak CEO G ham took over as enag Global's acting CEO back in 2021 speaking of that that's where we get this bombshell reveal from G ham in everclass so this one is our what we consider to be our most important IP it's fantasy MMORPG it's it's literally the one that ushered in the Golden Era of MMO so like World of Warcraft was based off of EverQuest uh and then you know they will say that actually I'm not making it up uh Daybreak uh we'll do the one doing it IP ownership massively multiplayer hybrid Premium Plus MTX similar to what the H1Z1 is live service I say 30 million plus I I can't really put any more accuracy there this one requires a lot of more a lot more work to figure out where but we're not starting development for this for a while we're investment 2025 if we you know do this for 28 release in a slide during their Marcus Day presentation there is a column dedicated to EverQuest and there hasn't been something this concrete on a future EverQuest title since they announced landmark and next which I guess in the grand scheme of things is a kind of a bad thing and and kind of takes this whole announcement so maybe forget I mentioned those two games in this section talking about first party game plans they talk about a massively multiplayer EverQuest live service game with a Dev budget of 30 million plus though that number seems to be just a starting point that will begin investment in 2025 with a Target release date of 2028. Gham does say in the Stream that like that basically if we do this which obviously means there's still some sand around this Castle but it's still more excitement than EverQuest fans have had in years and perhaps more hope CEO Jim ham refers to EverQuest as the company's most important IP which makes sense when you consider that EverQuest IP has spawned two MMOs two single-player action RPGs and RTS books toys and now and Everquest 2 swag shop look I love Everquest 2 as much as the next person I've played it for years but can we get some just like General EverQuest IP swag Please like some some really interesting swag my wardrobe is missing and I I need that in my life please day Ray come on give me give us give us something let me let me let me buy some merch please quick side note away from EverQuest here because it is important for the overall plans of eg7 the other two games mentioned on the slide are interesting one because Mech Warrior isn't owned by eg7 it's actually owned by Microsoft and as they note down at the bottom of the document any new products Beyond 2024 require discussion with Microsoft and the other the other is H1Z1 and it's an interesting story all its own a zombie game that tries to capitalize on the zombie craze and omo turned Battle Royale and for years property that has kind of just withered away but from the sound of it one that Daybreak is intent on bringing back from the dead get it I'll uh I'll see myself out I'm sorry it's it's the middle of the work day and I'm I'm kind of tired but H1Z1 could be getting a mid-scale multiplayer title as soon as 2026 with investment beginning next year mid-scale multiplayer is kind of what I think of when I look at other games in this genre or more survival games like Conan Exiles or the upcoming and shrouded which allows up to 16 players perhaps even Diablo 4 would fall under this umbrella of mid-scale multiplayer regardless it should be interesting but back to the actual real reason why you clicked on this video EverQuest and specifically Everquest 3 for no for no other better term for it EverQuest is an IP that really needs a Revival of some sort it's a it's an IP that has spanned two and a half decades it has so many countless properties have been made from this that it's one of those things that has become for for fans of the MMORPG genre it's it's one of those things that's just always there it's it's a known commodity just always in the background it's a bit like Runescape or World of Warcraft it never reached the same height I think EverQuest peaked around 600 000 players right around there with their original game and Everquest 2 I think probably peaked around 250k so it never really got up to the the millions of players that other games have but over the years so many people have loved and enjoyed that that IP and there are people that played not didn't even play the MMOs but really enjoyed champions of Nora or champions of Nora too other games that I have been really hoping get ported over so we can try them and play them again kind of the same way that the dark Alliance RPGs did and for me personally when I started playing EverQuest as a as a kid it sparked a like a love for this genre it taught me so much it helped me in a lot of ways deal with a lot of my like social anxiety being able to be social with people it also through the lore and the excitement and the joy in the game the story the story in the game it showed me or like an and a lifelong love and interest in reading and how and then turning that into writing there is a lot that I owe this game so I am I am really damn excited just to see something happening but now I want to turn it over to you and see what is it that you would love to see in an Everquest 3 and what is it that you would hate to see let us know down in the comment section below and we'll we'll be excited and a little bit nervous maybe a little bit nervous all of this in this together thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day [Music] thank you [Music]
