viral science the home of creativity this video is sponsored by ulum designer hey friends welcome back to another video and in this video I'll show you how to make a smart attendance system with RFID Card and esp8266 board through this you can send the data to Google spreadsheet that to in a real time through internet so let's quickly get started with this video so for this project you will need a esp8266 MCU board a RFID reader 16 in2 i2c LCD display RFID tags buzzer breadboard and some jumper wires now follow the circuit diagram and make your connections [Music] this video is sponsored by Altium designer ULM designer the world's most trusted PCB design system offers ingenious a unified environment that provides a comprehensive view of the entire PCB design process this includes schematic PCB layout harness design and documentation empowering Engineers to access all the necessary Tools in one place Alum 365 is transforming the electronic product design industry with its practical benefits and essential capabilities with Altium 365 you can effortlessly design share and manufacture Electronics with ultium designer without the need of any extra installations or configurations octopart is a free search engine for electronic parts and components it offers listed inventory that showcases inventory levels and pricing information to a global audience of Engineers procurement professionals and designers seeking components for their projects octopart is relied on by 16 million users globally it gives users the ability to compare bulk pricing and also the stock information it provides the documentation of the parts including the data sheets and CAD models you can try out all these services and I've shared a free trial link in the description down below so do check it out now I'm connecting two breadboards all together then we'll connect the node MCU on the breadboard next we'll put in this RFID reader and on the sides we'll connect the buzzer now we'll do the circuit connection as per the circuit diagram [Music] so after completing the connection it's time to upload the code in our esp8266 board so connect it with your computer first we'll set up the Google spreadsheet so open this Google spreadsheet and click on blank spreadsheet over here you can give the title of your spreadsheet I'm giving RFID attendance then you need to enter three attributes that is date time and the name you can do the modifications and formatting as per your needs so I have done the basic formatting after doing this go to extensions and select on app script over here delete these lines and copy and paste the whole script code which I have provided into the script code you need to do few modifications now go to the URL of your spreadsheet and copy this URL and paste it over here then you need to enter the sheet name so it's same what we have sheet one and then you need to enter the time zone so mine is Asia Kolkata after that click on deploy as new deployment go to settings and select web app and set it for everyone then click on deploy after this authorize the access select your Gmail account and go to advance then select on this unrestrict and click on allow now you need to copy this URL web app URL and now we'll t the code so paste it into a notepad and after the X write question mark name equals to now you can copy this URL and paste it in any of your browser and after the name equals to you can enter any name so now you can see my workbook is totally empty I'm entering test 01 and once when I hit enter the same thing will be reflected in our workbook so so again I'll do the same thing now I'll write test 02 and once I hit the enter the same thing gets recorded So now we'll do this thing with our esp8266 board through RFID scanner so now open this first code that is RFID Card tag or here you need to just uh do one change that is uh enter the name which you want to assign to RF tag so this name will be stored into the RFID tag now select the board that is esp8266 WV now select the port and upload this code after uploading the code scan the RFID tag to the scanner and the name will be stored into the RFID tag so this viral name is stored into this RFID tag so I'll do this thing four times because I have four RFID tags so now I'll change the name to Jake and now I scan another RFID tag and this Jake name is stored into this RFID tag now I'll do with one more name that is mic if you scan the same tag again uh the name will be get updated into the RFID tag so now I have uh updated four RFID tags with four different names now it's time to upload the main code in our esp8266 board so this is the main code and over here you need to enter the Google script URL so this is what we copied so copy it and paste it over here make sure you enter this question mark name equals to at the end now here you need to enter the Wi-Fi name and the Wi-Fi password of your router so this is the address at which the 622 LCD display will communicate so if 0 x3f doesn't work though you need to change it with 0 x27 now select the board select the port and upload the code so after uploading the code open the serial Monitor and press the reset button on esp8266 board you can see the IP address if it gets connected to the router so now our project is completely ready you can see it's initializing and connecting to Wi-Fi it's showing uh scan your card so it's ready so now scan the RFID tags so in this tag the name was stored is viral so you can see hey Vel and the same thing gets reflected on the Google Sheets and you can even see the message data received on the LCD screen in this tag the name was to Jake so the same thing got reflected with the date and time on the sheets and the data was [Music] recorded So friends I hope you like this project and this was just a basic one where we were able to send the data from ESP board to Google Sheets so if you want a advanced project where we could send more data with more columns then do let me know in the comment section below I'll try to make it and that's it for today guys see you in the next one do subscribe and press Bell icon to get instant notification for new video [Music]
