EpicTurkey Hunt {Catch Clean Cook} "More than just a Hunt"

are you guys so one of the keys to being confident in the field is practice on the range yeah nice shot Jake is shooting that new pointer shotgun with the Kent tk7 this is a high density load high brass three inch Magnum and it's lethal on turkeys what do you feel about shot like how far do you want to shoot how long do you think the shot will be between eight five to fifteen yards no further just because we're hot in Osceola's and Osceola's are aggressive you don't we're not trying to shoot him at 30 yards to me and exciting turkey huntin is five yards to 15 yards alright or two yards or two yards here throw that in there and I want what I want him to do I want you to shoot the close target and then stay on it and shoot the second target shoot when you're ready lean into it and don't flinch straighten the gun up so that's what we're looking for right there a nice perfect pattern that's a a queen click quick ethical kill now let's see we got down here perfect that's what we're looking for a perfect pattern so if his head was anywhere in here it's a perfect shot it's awesome and what do you think so stuff well good morning everybody it is 403 a.m. and I'm headed to the town of Okeechobee when meet up with Gabe and his son Jake there then we're gonna head out to Basinger to meet up with Brad Gibson where we're gonna go turkey hunting well Jake he's been practicing getting her neck all that time practicing at the range should turn into confidence at the moment of truth today it's days and moments like this that we live for y'all I'm so happy you can be here with us all right here whatever you want to no big deal me and deer meat are here come on friend okay listen we were supposed to meet at 6 o'clock this morning blue Gabe dear me you know usually we're waiting on deer meat that's way it normally goes but here it is let's see 6:15 and blue Gabe is not here you actually loo game is still 20 minutes away and if you're looking them that way the Sun is starting to come up we should be in the blind right now I thought I thought the UH plan was to be here if he's set up by 5:50 well it got changed can you explain what changes I don't know my alarm flat-out didn't go off I don't I don't know what happened to my alarm that's the best thing he'd come up with Jake are you ready we're gonna make this happen six for 26 did you hold only with we're going that blind right now you have Jake's gun yeah yeah what about a drink just get in the truck and let's go go you all should have this yeah this is actual reality sometimes just got to keep your head in the game don't panic and roll with the punches Gabe showed up late there's nothing we can do about that but we're not going to get upset and go crazy we're just gonna ease back here kind of use this side-by-side as a as a deterrent I mean they the turkeys are used to this they see side-by-sides out here all the time don't walk out fast [Music] so we've got it in and a Jake decoy right out here in front of us about 15 yards Jake's ready for are you guys we've got a big gobbler coming down the fence line that we're left this is not what we wanted we wanted coming down the fence line good shot buddy good shot Jake all that hard work did it just pay off buddy get out and go in this road come on cookie here don't worry I know that I got you so much for that be a patient that's so epic [Music] I'm just sitting in the blind still like taking it all in so awesome so awesome this is what it's all about [Music] at any point did you think well what if I miss like I saw him running and I'm like I was just gonna she no aliens around why were you gonna shooting while he was running because you got because you're Arrington that's why I've been hunting this place here for roughly 18 years and watch these birds all year long I actually had a hunter in the same area two weeks ago missed three times with a shotgun it just got too excited and never got his face down on the shotgun it's always nice special memorable when you're there for somebody's first time I can remember my first Turkey I'm sure you can remember your first Turkey and to be here and capture it all on tape and just to be a part of it with my family that's that's what's really special and it means a lot to me I got Jake that shotgun it's a little pointer youth model 20 gauge that fits him perfectly outfitted it with got a grip cheek pad and finger grip so that he could hold it and keep his cheek down on it he just heard Brad say the guy missed three times because he didn't stay down on a shotgun that's so important to stay down and focus it's easy to miss people think how do you miss it's easy to miss because it happens all the time this is a day I'll never forget we're gonna take him back clean them up and we're gonna cook them [Music] so where do you start out right here on top of the breastplate here and then I'm just kind of peeling on down big part of hunting and learning taking youngsters like this letting them be a part of it pull eggs check this out watch it plate here what's a Turkey's main diet out here you know in the Cyprus where there's no oranges or anything there's a lot of uh right this time of year a lot of grasshoppers out here and a little blocking the other grasshoppers and they feed on them like crazy fat trimmed off there's one side one whole breast with the loin included there I'm a content creator I'm a youtuber I'm a hunter I'm a fisherman but you know what I'm gonna put the camera down I'm just gonna enjoy the rest of this I'll see you guys back in the kitchen sometimes I find myself filming too much and I'm not able to just take it in we're in a beautiful little Creek in amongst the green spring Cypress Moss everywhere gentle breeze my brother and his son with their first gobbler together great friend Brad Gibson I'm tell you right now you guys want to go on an epic on call Brad Gibson we came out here just as friends but this is what the man does for a living his contacts would be in the description below Brad took some of the meat we got some of the meat and Gabe and Jake headed to Georgia for the weekend so I'm gonna marinate this turkey the way that Jake loves Turkey and this is something that you can do you can do it with turkey deer meat pork or duck meat you can make a big chunks or small chunks end of the day they're just chunks now that you have all your turkey cut up into chunks I went in a bag and now take some Italian dressing typically I use the zesty Italian but I don't have any so we're just gonna use your regular Italian there you go dump it in there take your bag this is the trick take your bag just like that go down almost all the way closed and then sort of work that marinade make sure all the air bubbles are out get as you I mean if there's a few air bubbles it's no big deal but you get as many of them out as you can now all of this turkey is just falling in love beautiful Oh some wild turkey well guess what everybody the turkey is marinated and we're about to get some eggs because we're cooking this rascal up and all the kids right back over there swimming in the pond this here is its mr. David Bell yeah get like six eggs that red pepper came off of Joey Alaska's farm and if you guys think he should stop working so much and come out fishing with me drop it in the comments below and leave a big thumbs up because Joey time we start wrecking some fish all right y'all all-purpose flour panko bread crumbs pregnant mini horse and some eggs straight out the barn whenever you buy store-bought eggs they do not look that nice and yellow and beautiful mmm whenever I cut this stuff up and put it in the zesty Italian dressing now what I've got are just chunks of Turkey it smells so good and then we'll throw it in the egg wash Jake loves this and then you have these little gooey turkey balls like that and then they look like that we're gonna pan fry them and they're gonna be tender moist delicious and good for the soul I always throw one piece in there until it starts looking just right once it starts looking right then I give them some friends to swim with we call this the swim team wall Turkey swim team swimming in peanut oil it went in nice and light comes out crispy good old crispy duck oh my goodness that's what hunting is to me [Music] are you all ready for the good part Gabe has been bragging on this dish all weekend long tell me what's the best turkey ever made who does look good I tell you right good part ain't on it yet though that's the thing so this is the secret juju except for this one sat in my cooler of my truck and the sticker fell off y'all gotta get sup ladies and gentlemen this is kick come on teriyaki original it's good on the shrimp I mean possum [ __ ] it don't make anything taste good and I promise you [Music] cuz they're a set amount that you have to put in there I don't want anybody to think that Jake and I just went sat in the blind he killed a turkey that boy hunted hard yeah we didn't I think we hunted more than three or four times yeah we sat right through rain ran lightning so he did not just get put in the blind that boy earned that Turkey yeah and so take cup piece of fried I know that's what you want oh yeah favoritism to deer meat the first part was mine are you gonna shoot one when you get older tell everybody hi in the camera I haven't even said this yet but if you've watched this much of the video go check out Brad Gibson and g3 Outfitters he's an awesome dude he's uh the issue I really started Gator hunting with he's an amazing turkey hunter fisherman he's just a good guys a great friend and he's a very hard-working guide who works very hard to put people on the game and so no matter what you want to go do go check him out he's he is a connection in South Florida what I think that's all I got for y'all today y'all congratulations on your first bird buddy [Music]
