Ep.76 Lindsay Re Opens WICKED ON BROADWAY!! Today Show, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kristen Chenoweth, Jared

[Music] it's 5 a.m in new york city i'm walking down 8th avenue going towards the today show we um have a rehearsal at 5 45 a.m on the stage there which is different than our stage and we have spacing that is different than our usual spacing um but we get there we rehearsed in the space with their microphones uh and fix the sound and stuff like that and then um we go back to the girlfriend and put on our costumes and then we get on a bus and go back over to 30 rock it's only a few blocks but you can't just like parade a bunch of people in shiz university uniforms down the street in new york i don't think that's allowed but um getting on a bus and then we get red finished getting ready there and then we'll be on the teaser where you like you know waves the camera like oh watch this we're we're gonna do a wicked number and then at 8 40 i believe we're going to be live on the today show i'm really excited i've never been on the today show okay lindsay's about to do the today show and i'm dropping georgia for school and i'm going to new york are you ready yeah okay we'll cheer her on have a great day at school okay love you bye [Music] okay uh they just did a today show i bet that was amazing uh i didn't get to watch it because i was driving to the airport but uh i'm about to go in i've got an hour and three minutes till my flight departs got this little bag and uh we're gonna do this obviously i should have boarded earlier because we got the today show live [Music] all right i'm at jfk in new york city even though there's big ben the advertising place to london i'm so excited i'm gonna take the air train here the best thing about jfk is that you can just take the train into the city and save yourself 75 or 100 bucks also the twa hotel is right here at the jetblue terminal um you see this plane here this is such an awesome hotel um i've done a few gigs here with my jersey boys friends and uh it's probably most famous for being the terminal back in the 60s but you recognize that tube that is from the leonardo dicaprio movie with tom hanks catch me if you can they have filmed some scenes in there but i'll put a little video up here of me singing it new year's eve 2019. georgia stayed up till 2 a.m and here's a little of me singing elvis for you know 700 of my closest friends right there in the sunken living room of the twa hotel [Music] that's the secret elevator that takes you up there from jetblue but if you have a layover it's an amazing place there's a rooftop pool that's heated in the winter there's a skating rink ice skating it's totally awesome check it out i'm excited i think lindsay's taking a nap i told her you better go to sleep you're gonna crash tonight [Music] we'll see how long this takes i'm thinking 34 minutes okay we'll see okay i'm at my home station minutes that ride on the e train was all right i'm calm there's done antonio pizza back there the red awning my favorite pizza here and there's wicked they got a new sign okay we're good i see you i see you oh this is my hood amazing oh it's welcome me back how you doing how you doing how you doing okay i'm here across from lindsay's apartment building um that she's staying in our friend's place um and i know that one of these is her window so i'm trying to see if like there's a light on i'm just going to go buzz the door and be like yes you got a package does that sound like me you're a candid camera hey i made it you had no idea did you no no idea no idea i love it i got to get you a ticket uh i got a ticket craig jessup got me a ticket did you bring your back i took a test this morning i got my vaccine everything's gonna be great lindsay just got up from her today show nap surprise surprise so lindsay is gonna go to her run yeah cause she's gotta wake up after being up at 4 a.m [Music] and i'm gonna go eat indian food in classic dad shaw style that's what i did when i first got here yeah did you yeah you did order that first um i hope you have a great run i love it thank you i love you too look at this hugh jackman sutton foster show that's when your name that's when you know you're a big deal like they just don't even put the title this is where like mame and cats and mamma mia and follies and the original west side story opened and uh it used to say the title now it's just the two stars are the title to the show the music man all right chicago opens this week too shout out to rachel my buddy rachel so awesome very exciting book of mormon down the street is that all you have to do that is so sweet thank you elise wow wow she gave me two so ladies and gentlemen i showed my uh vaccination on this nyc covet safe and i got free donuts let's get it yum discover broadway's secrets here's one lindsay northern bradshaw never misses a show most of the time time to grow times square one day closer to bravo danny burstein he's who i want to be when i grow up and here is hamilton now this is cool um lindsay's doing ham for ham tonight right i think lion king wicked and hamilton are all performing or doing a show tonight lindsay doesn't even quite know what they're doing but it's going to be cool right here is restaurant row and joe allen it's my favorite restaurant maybe i'll just go get a burger at joe island by myself they won't be busy they'll be busy tonight at six o'clock because everyone and their mother will be going there before the shows but uh right now it's too early for free theater they're open i'm gonna get a burger now joe allen is famous for their flop posters on the wall of broadway shows that were a flop like they lost tons of money and they ran like you know less than a month some of them closed on opening night so uh it's the theater haunt and i've sat here with many a celebrity from you know sutton foster and roger bart rosie o'donnell and harvey fierstein julie andrews was there one night i mean it's the jam anybody everybody who's anybody has been there look you can sit outside so awesome let me show you the fame that is joe allen look at this here the vampire posters over here lindsay the reading of that show doll's live via galactica that was the first show to play where wicked dead at the garcia even though it was probably euros my favorite plot here merely amazing so beautiful i've never i've never been in here when it's empty like this i've never been in here it's amazing okay this is how the manhattan is served is that not adorable you got your own little carafe it's got salt and ice on it keep it extra cold and it looks out of the cherry perfect i know it might just look like a burger but it is so perfectly done medium rare oh that was just what i needed a joe allen burger in manhattan makes me want to cry i cried watching lindsey on today's show today i gotta say i mean that does she got to come back today after a year and a half and be on the today show did i get to be here tonight i'm so proud of her i mean i'm totally jealous too uh i wish i had a show to come back to right now my next show is it's sister at his sister act a paper mill playhouse but man i'm so proud of her so um i had a burger and a cocktail lindsay went for a run and took a shower and uh we're gonna do the ham for ham lottery it's awesome very exciting look at my jersey voice poster over there it's a good day i mean i'm tired i dropped georgia from school in orlando but you know it's all good very exciting georgia says hi just picked her up from school planning out the rest of our day lots of exciting stuff oh we love you good luck in the show tonight okay i just dropped lindsay off um with the cast of wicked and lion king and they're gonna do ham for ham right here it's gonna be interesting i don't know what's gonna happen so this is gonna be cool hamilton hamilton all right they're getting ready over there our buddy kathy fitzgerald from producers charlie the chocolate factory and wicked she's mad at marvel right now over there with lindsay i think they're more people from lion king so this will be cool see what happens and um we wanted to sing a song for one of our sacred pickles um by the great kander and ev a song called new york new york yeah sterling [Music] yes [Applause] hello [Music] a part of this [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] you [Applause] [Applause] okay that was cool lindsay and lin-manuel miranda uh reunited since the broadway bowling league of 2006 within the heights that was awesome and totally worth flying up for just that just that so did you realize that that's what that was going to be i had no idea what that was i gotta say him and everybody was like what about him it's a ham hamilton you can see hamilton or hamilton well you know it's you you get a ticket for hamilton i just did it you get a ticket for hamilton for a ten dollar bill a hamilton pam for hamilton by winning the lottery so they used to do the lottery an hour before the show it's a kick in the butt that's a big old horse um but uh that was amazing you and really and sterling and lin manuel and kathy fitzgerald so like what happened with that is that they didn't tell us about it until like a couple hours ago and everybody was asleep from being on the today show and so everybody was like i don't have time and i'm going to make it and um a handful of us pulled it off and um it was really cool i love it it was magical but that was awesome another amazing thing today i'm so glad that i decided to be a part of this you're going to be on the news tonight this is really special and it's i feel like the whole city is excited for us yeah because all those hotels and restaurants are going to open up okay let's go get cleaned up and go do your broadway show okay let's go oh that went up today and it's is it digital yes nice marquee babe earlier it said he which so the heat of heart was all that was up there he wicked it looks good you can't tell it's digital so that's nice and it'll really glow at night we've got one on the other side okay i'm gonna pick up my tickets for ticket for tonight and mine and georgia tickets for this weekend because i'm seeing it twice because i'm extra like that you are extra to tell the truth okay okay okay the press is here lindsey northand's here [Music] okay there's lindsey on the poster hey i know her that's hurt right there all right ladies and gents i can't believe i'm gonna say this but i'm about to go see a broadway show for the first time in a year and a half 500 and something performances have been missed it's crazy the last show we saw was i think on march 12th march 11th we saw the revival of company with paddle phone patti the phone hello i'm patty lemon and um it's crazy i'm so proud of lindsay and man she's had a good day hasn't she i've had a good day got to go to joe allen's i got to fly i got to see lindsay sing with lin-manuel miranda what can i say except you're welcome we're bacon cookies we're back here at the bradshaw house bradshaw hq and we are making some chocolate chip cookies for dessert because we already had pizza for dinner pizza what else did we do we did we were swimming yeah we did we went swimming picked you from school went on a bike ride went on a bike ride then we came back oh those are two people cookies there anything you want to say to your mom when she goes on stage i love you mama yeah break a leg tonight an egg but don't actually break don't actually break any legs we don't want any real legs broken no no no just you know break a show leger you know yeah have a good show yeah have a good show have a good show your second degree burn uh it's i call it my crispy band oh sick that's awesome look at everybody's flowers and stuff that looks like it's from jenna well it looks like it's from coop little baby cooper oh the hat there's a glinda macaron happening wow look at all the fun stuff you look pretty it's happening good evening company it is tuesday september 14th happy reopening yay half this evening's hour we have a full company dan mitchuca is your conductor there will be a brief pre-show curtain speech given by kristen kennelly this evening we also welcome salary cell goku and also if you haven't yet uh if you have a moment to please resign the reopening or please sign the re-opening taxes for chicago land king and hamilton did it and just a reminder if there's any food in the building please by the end of the night either store it eat it or throw it out doesn't should be left but nothing should be shared thank you this is your half hour call half hour now if you go back to the tony awards in 2003 this was the set piece that kristen chenoweth and adina midself sang in front of pretty cool they built that eugene lee built that dress for the tonys okay here we go look at this [Music] cheers university [Music] it's all very exciting after after being gone it's so great to see stagehands and old friends here in the audience it's really exciting [Music] amazing yes all amazing it's so great everybody's getting ovations from dr dillamon every single song um the ensemble for just you know finishing a section of a dance number it's thrilling i'm so glad i'm here and i'm so proud of lindsay that he's here doing this what a day it's been a special day um i can't wait to come back and see it and bring georgia the last time georgia saw the show was you know she was six and she's seen lindsay play glenda you know more than once but i wanted to come see this show now because it's really important that to see her mommy on broadway awesome it's awesome i'm gonna finish my drink and here is composer steven schwartz of pocahontas and hunchback of notre dame and got fell in and you know wicked [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] everybody's still clapping it's been at least two minutes nobody's going home nobody's going oh this is crazy nobody's going home everybody's staying yes yes yes yes yes yes stephen schwartz [Applause] okay i've never been at a show where the audience demanded the cast come back out steven schwartz was there talking to the cast and the audience clapped for three or four minutes maybe five minutes nobody left nobody left and they brought the curtain back up that was really really special never forget it i'm so glad i flew in okay this is like it's like being at the club there's so many people out here everybody everybody is on a complete pie because we just experienced that together it's loud isn't it now i gotta go find lindsay i'm never gonna forget that unbelievable [Music] you
