Encanto vs Pop Songs

a bit of a different aesthetic from a typical pop song for example that whoa is obviously out of tune but they use it to establish that you know she's like type thing it's more of a character driven thing while in a pop song you would definitely tune that to be exactly on the note and here we have the pop song ed sheeran's shivers which is actually kind of similar in some ways [Music] [Music] i haven't seen all this music video what the heck [Music] this is so groovy it's a lot more polished in a lot of ways the beat hits harder like the vocal is lower in the mix compared to the other stuff [Music] very interesting while i do love it sheeran and his songwriting style and i really love that song there's just something more unique about the encounter song i think the lyrical theme is plays this super just no emotions character so hearing her act and sing in such an energized manner is so weird [Music] [Music] i think i'm more of a musical geek than i believed myself oh that's a tough up google dolls arrows [Music] this is like top 10 rock songs of all time for me it's so like smart and actually works really well so the verse is just a chorus come on that is goosebump just about bruno [Music] it's really the end of this song that does it for me like it starts grooving so bad and then all the layered vocals it's so good [Music] i wonder if there's going to be matched up with sean and camilla senorita that would make sense [Music] so many fun parts of this my tick tock damaged brain really likes how everything changes so much no havana oh that's also a good one okay [Music] yeah very similar it sounds so produced in comparison this song is excellently made [Music] nice to be honest though it kind of grates on me a little bit i think it's one of those songs maybe it's because i've heard it too many times it's been overplayed but even early on i felt like it's kind of samey while what i do like about encanto it's just the overall vibe and they didn't even play the best part which is when it grooves really bad i'm gonna have to give this one to encanto here we have all of you from encanto did you roll up yourself let it let it out let it rain let it snow let it go that's why i'm always saying [Music] oh i like that i'm not saying anything you're just thinking so this is one of those kind of exposition songs i would say they have a lot that they need to kind of explain in this song and that is matched up with shakira whenever whatever yes these matchups are crazy [Music] that is always a really weird line such a great dancer [Music] this is so catchy okay so i'm gonna do a thought experiment now what if encanto would have had the shakira song but with other lyrics that would have explained what was going on it might not have been as effective at getting everything across however it would have been a very impressive and super catchy song more so than the one that is there now i'm gonna have to give it two pop songs here as well okay hurry up from encanto colombia me and kanto oh yeah this one's fine this is definitely more of a pop thing [Music] this reminds me so freaking much of under the sea i think it's like the same chords and everything [Music] [Music] it is the same chords until a certain point it grooves i'm like i'm like moving and i didn't even notice like i was doing it ah that's so nice okay and that's against jennifer lopez's let's get loud [Music] [Music] this sounds like a eurovision song now i don't know why and yeah as you can see i'm not moving just just kidding um [Music] i mean it's fine her vocals are never anything to really write home about i think she's a great entertainer gotta go to encanto that sounds so bouncy i love it here we have dos orguitas i think this is the most emotional song in the album i think i might have cried without yes [Music] come on this is crazy good i thought this was just like a real song or like not a song from encanto when i heard [Music] it's so well recorded and everything too i got goosebumps it's so good [Music] oh that little subdominant minor there [Music] i love this and there's something about the spanish language that can just really get to it oh and if it pops on we have billy eilish happier than ever interesting [Music] wish i could explain [Music] [Laughter] something that always kind of bothered me about this song is how i feel like it up until a certain point it really stands still driving home under the influence i also feel like the production had to do a lot of heavy lifting for the chorus because her voice isn't really entirely suited for that i don't relate to you i think she is incredible and amazing at what she does and her vocals are great always super pitch live and everything like it's crazy how good she is but i don't think that type of song suits her and the enchanter song is just instant goosebumps for me i'm gonna have to give that one to and kanto here's a video comparing songs that sound exactly the same and today we had four for encanto and four for pop songs it's a tie and i'm gonna put it on right now check it out oh what a nice tie comedy
