welcome to our house come on in welcome to our entryway it's super echo in here because we have pretty much no furniture and it is a double storey and shuri so it's super tall so as you can see there's so much paneling on these walls we want to refresh this place by putting different style paneling not as Victorian this house is a very Victorian style so we want to get rid of those elements but keep some of the elements but kind of modernize it bring it up to date and then to my right we have our dining room formal dining room and then to our left this is kind of like an office slash den we want to make it into a playroom for all of our nieces and nephews they're gonna come visit because we want a space up here dedicated for like toys books really fun maybe like beanbags chairs just for the kids so when we're having dinner we can also see the kids so our plan for this room I was like I said to make it into a playroom and I'm like it has two big windows here brings extra light and then this little built-in shelves behind me we're gonna get rid of that probably today just because I want to have some bookshelves in here but something more minimal that's practical and it's not looking as bulky or dark even though we can paint that it's still looking very bulky and it doesn't really fit with our style so we're definitely gonna get rid of those but yeah we really like this room and it does have the double French doors so you can kind of just shove all the kids in here maybe put on a movie for them or maybe play some games with that or you can just keep it nice wide and open and then one thing I do like about this office / dance / playroom it has another entryway into the little master ensuite over there alright let's go to the other side of the house which is the dining room so this right here is the formal dining room we just put our table from our what the past four places this table has been with us for seven years it's service very well but we're definitely not keeping the table here we're definitely not keeping the lights again we're gonna get rid of the key really knew everything is gonna get painted and again I do want to do some kind of really fun paneling in this room and I do love the two big windows here as well all right so the one thing about this house is very grand you have the upstairs hallway that's completely open on both sides to the front door and to the living room and it has this really cool would you call it come balcony pretty much it's a loft / balcony and we are going to update the stair rails the banister all that good stuff to kind of again freshen it up clean it up then walk this way and we have a hallway that takes us to the kitchen or the dining room laundry room half bath and then we have a hallway that takes us to the master suite and then obviously this is the grand formal family room so it's the same height I think it's actually is it let's say is it the same height as the front entry it's also a double storey living room it's a very grand the one thing we are gonna be doing also ripping out a lot of these built-ins we don't like them we think they're a little bit too much we definitely want to get rid of all of this and then probably build something else or maybe just buy some really nice pieces to put in there but the fireplace is a very grand also it's gonna be refinished we have some ideas we're thinking either white brick all the way up to make it like a feature fireplace or maybe some shiplap maybe some type of paneling but all of this is going to get ripped out besides the fireplace and then from the entryway from the main living area and the front door we have the upstairs that goes up to the three bedrooms up there all the bedrooms have their own bathrooms I really like that for guests very simple upstairs bedrooms closets attic good stuff we're actually going to refinishing all of the floors on the main floor we're gonna be using this hardwood but we're gonna refinish it and a nice water-based polyurethane probably keep it super natural we like the lighter one and then with the stairs we're gonna get rid of this carpet we do the stairs as well and again we're doing all of this just to freshen it up so this little hallway it leads us to the master suite portion of the house I like that it's very separate it's on the main living area which we like alright let's come in yes we are living right now on a mattress because we are getting rid of these floors we've actually bought very similar hardwood to the rest of the first floor very natural unfinished that way we can finish it the same way as we finish the rest of the first floor so we're gonna actually bring it into the master bedroom we love the big windows it also has a set of French doors that go to the back patio so definitely repainting this room definitely redoing the paneling on here we love the paneling in here kind of adds a really kind of he's like a very homey cozy feeling but a very grand feeling but want to redo it and bring it again up to date freshen it up get rid of the chandeliers because I honestly have no idea what they are they look so old and not in the good way they look very very worn down so when I get rid of that and it also has a fireplace all fireplaces in our house are gas which we both love we had one in our previous house and we actually used it a lot in the winter so I'm excited to make this space very cozy we want to put some chairs right into the right next to the fireplace and next to those windows so we can kind of just sit there look out and just enjoy the weather that's I'm in the indoors and then going this way this is where the bathroom is and the closet come on into the bathroom it's a mess just because you know we're still moving in and trying to find its space and this bathroom is also going to get remodeled but what I'm doing here is we have the sinks double sinks but they're on opposite sides and then this huge built-in bath that is super awkward I think you it's a Jacuzzi but it's small but it's built around and it's just very awkward but we love the windows so our idea is get rid of this sanity bring it to this side do the double vanity on just one wall get rid of this huge built-in mess and then just do a free-standing tub on its own maybe kind of going on this side or also just keep it right here that way there's so much more space so and then here like I said we're gonna do it just a nice double vanity probably get rid of that just do everything freshen it up and then behind Andre there's a shower and a walking toilet restroom we're actually gonna flip flop them the toilet is gonna go in the shower showers and go in the toilet because the toilet room is massive like it's huge I already said why they did a flip-flop them in the beginning the shower is too small where it's located and it's right behind the door so it's super awkward so we're going to fix the door and put it inside the bedroom instead of keeping the door in the bedroom in the bathroom that makes sense and then right at the very end of the master suite we have the master closet his and hers it's a pretty good size but I think we're gonna change it up and add a little bit more storage all around but yeah I have no idea why they chose to do this weird plywood that looks like quark on the walls all the way up to the ceiling it's super awkward it's a very monotone with the Browns but the one that I do love about this closet are the two big windows in here it's so nice it just gives a nice natural feeling and the one thing is you can change in here and nobody will see you just because there are so many trees in the front and we're up on a hill so even if somebody is driving by they can't really look into the window just because we're high up but yeah it's working out very well for us all right let's follow me back into the living area and Rebecca so we're gonna go to this hallway I'm gonna show you guys quickly the laundry room and the half bath this is just another entryway into the formal dining room that connects into the kitchen so this right here is the half back on the main living area which is nice I like that it's kind of far away from everything if people are in the kitchen or in the living nebula dining room it's kind of quiet so it's a little space and then this side of the little hallway is the laundry room we also have some ideas to freshen the laundry room up as well we brought our own washer and dryer from the previous two places brought up all the way from Florida good stuff so right now they're very yellow honestly thing this is what the kitchen looked like because the kitchen is white right now but I'm basically I just want to freshen up these cabinets probably paint them a really fun color or keep them white and do some kind of really fun floor instead of these floors right now it's basically just freshen it up put out a new light in and yeah all right so let me take you back into the kitchen through the hallway welcome to the kitchen and a little sitting area with the fireplace all right so with the kitchen we do have some plans want to keep it nice and bright white we are gonna keep the same layout except for the island is just gonna be a nice rectangle island and then we are gonna keep the shape of this kitchen the layout because we actually really like it it flows very well the one thing is we aren't going to freshen up the cabinets obviously this right here I want a nice double oven because this is a very tiny little oven and then this way I like all the counters I like all the cabinets they do a very good job nice big fridge and then there's a little walk-in pantry that way and then on that side of the kitchen we're gonna keep that existing wall over there but then that little wall we're gonna make into a very floor-to-ceiling pantry where it just opens up and that's where bigger appliances are like the kitchenaid the cafe the coffee maker and the tea maker and the toaster all that good stuff I want to keep it all over there and it's gonna be stationary so I'm gonna I'm not gonna have to move it it's just gonna be in its own little slab and it's gonna have its outlet so I'm excited for that a quirky little feature we have in this house is a dumbwaiter it's a food elevator pretty much an elevator for your food so that's kind of cool I guess you can just shove your groceries from the downstairs because we also have a basement downstairs but yeah a dumbwaiter all right so now for the kitchen I'm gonna take you guys down to the basement let's go and we're in the basement it's pretty much the size of the layout of the upstairs but a little bit smaller just because the master suite is on top of the garage so this right here that's the door that goes into the garage and then this right here is kind of like two separate areas but they're together this one right here we have some plants for it we actually want to take this wall out and put one of those garage doors in to kind of open up the space but just have a nice glass wall so we're thinking to do that kind of incorporate into the garage we also want to kind of freshen up the garage and bring it clean it up in a way all of the basement the downstairs is our work area this is where we shoot film edit all that good stuff meetings all that fun stuff so behind me this is where it's more of like a chiller area we are gonna take out those built-ins that came with the house we're gonna freshen it up again I think Andre wants to make a really cool shiplap wall where the TV is going to be hanging we like this area it's kind of a big area in one but it's separated so that's what we like it and then we have one half bath in the basement kind of separate from the rest of the house if you have to go the restroom it's right here and then on side of the house this is where the filming room is the studio it's still a work in progress you guys probably saw the wallpaper couple my older videos well recent older videos but in here we also want to get rid of the carpet I want to put fresh hardwood in here we're gonna take off all the wallpaper fresh in this place up and there's also a bathroom a full-size bathroom in this filming area which I really like and I use right now to wash my stuff brushes all that good stuff and that's also going to get renovated basically refreshing and then this is the door that leads into the garage and then this is the hallway that connects the kitchen to that hallway to the laundry room to the little half
